Fire power! Kosuke's first real jutsu
Mon Sep 07, 2015 10:28 pm
Kosuke lazily opened his eyes. He had fallen asleep last night at some point. He didn’t recall coming home, his training had gone a bit overtime. He had decided to just run laps around the village last night after his jutsu training. He finally had a decent control over his fire chakra and could now grasp more advanced jutsu. Today he had decided that he would tackle the Fire style: Great Fireball technique. This one was much more powerful than the simple stream of fire he had created the other day. He glanced out the window and saw that it was still fairly dark and that not even many ninjas were awake yet, this made his training that much easier as a ninjas greatest weapons were surprise and deception. As he thought of his plans for the day he began to rummage around the house getting prepared for his training. He threw on his clothes and put some tea on the stove he then put on a pack of ramen in the microwave and set it. He then began to stretch out his sore muscles and tried to get the sleep from his eyes. He began to think of how much stronger he wished to be and how he had seen chuunin and jounin that could completely wipe the floor with him. He was cut from his musings as the microwave beeped and the tea kettle started to whistle. He decided to just shovel down his breakfast and gulp his tea down he bolted out of his door. The cool early morning air smacked his face like a frigid winter compared to the inside of his house but he paid it no mind. His footsteps creating a rhythm against the street as he ran towards the training grounds. He leapt up on to the roofs in order to travel a more direct path. He felt as if he was flying as he used this as stealth, speed and espionage training. Trying to focus on moving as swiftly yet silently as possible to reach his destination.
As he reached the training grounds he decided to find the one he had seen on a separate training venture that had a medium sized pond over which one might safely practice Katon or Suiton. He began to do his usual warm up and workout routine. After he finished he took out his jutsu encyclopedia and began to read about the Fire style: Great Fireball jutsu. It seemed to be easy enough even though it was a C-rank jutsu. It only required two hand seals the Horse and then the Tiger seal, so it couldn’t be that much harder. But he had already decided to use an exercise designed to improve his control over his fire style chakra. He had read in his research that fire chakra is just super-heated chakra that is built up and created in the stomach. Well he also knew from the academy that chakra itself comes from the stomach. Therefore with this in mind he began to meditate on trying to differentiate the fire chakra from the normal chakra. As he meditated it was fairly easy to identify the fire chakra as once he found it he found it much harder to control. It was as if it was continually changing and shifting its way out of his control. As he struggled to get it under his control he recalled what he had read, fire chakra was alive. He had to give it guidance, not just control it. So he began to not try to force it under his control but to guide it where in his body he wanted it. It began to flow through him like a fresh warmth. He decided to test this newfound “control” by grabbing a nearby fallen leaf and putting it between his hands and focusing on his fire chakra coming into his palm. At first nothing happened so he decided to release more of the chakra. Then the leaf began to smoke before it burned to ash. He then knew that he had his fire chakra under at least enough control to be able to perform some jutsu.
So he set to work, Stretching and going through hand seals then finally taking a deep breath and blowing out. But, much to his chagrin, all that he exhaled was smoke and a few coughs. He needed to focus more. Fire was built on wind. He provided the wind with his breath. In this jutsu and most other fire jutsu his breath was the guiding factor. So this time he took a much more even and deep breath and released it and the fiery chakra he felt in his throat in a much more controlled manner. This time a few sparks came out and he knew he was getting somewhere. He forced even more fire chakra into the technique ad out came a fireball one meter in diameter and it travelled over the pond about five meters before it detonated. He was very proud and decided to take a quick break. As he sat he realized the sun had risen high into the sky. He had been so focused he didn’t even realize that it was almost midday. He decided he would take a quick break to eat. So he went to gather wood and caught some fish by using kunai and the water walking technique. He then cooked the fish over a fire made with his new Fire style: Fire stream technique. As he ate he began to reflect on what he could do in order to solve his other problems. One, He had no money with which to purchase tools and other things and two, he had no friends with which to train with. He would need to fix this. But after he took the last piece of meat off of his fish he decided to would have to wait as it was time t get back to training. He stood and took his stance, facing the pond. He began to focus seeing if there was something he missed in his earlier analysis of the technique. He could feel the heat of the sun beating down on his face, the warmth it gave to even the cool breeze that travelled throughout the grounds. Then he realized, he wasn’t making his chakra hot enough! He had to focus on getting it to move in a constant pace creating friction and therefore more heat! So, he began to focus and he swiftly formed the hand signs and took his breath and out came a two meter fireball that travelled around 10 meters before it exploded into a spectacular shower of flames.
He had finally formed the technique, he decided to try to make the range a bit longer as in the book it says it can be up to twenty meters. So he focused more on compressing the ball with more chakra so that it would last longer. So after preforming it a few more times he had gotten it down to fifteen meters. He knew that this was quite the achievement for himself since he knew he had only started to learn the technique today. “There has to be some way to get this fireball to shoot farther, c’mon Kosuke, think!” he tells himself. He began to pump as much chakra as possible into the technique causing the fireball to shoot from his mouth at a very high speed and it definitely hit the twenty meter mark before it exploded with much more power than it had before. Kosuke realized that the amount of control and chakra he put into the jutsu that time was spot on, so he decided to practice it that way to get it down to muscle and chakra memory. He performed the jutsu three more times, finding it easier each time. After his third shot his vision blurred slightly and he fell to a knee panting. That extensively strenuous training had taken a toll on his reserves but they would only grow as a result. He looked around and noticed that it was already dark and that the only light was from his small fire that was still burning. He of course knew of his clans ability of the golden eye but he himself hadn’t unlocked it yet, he only had the inherent ability to see clearly in minimal light situations such as this but that doesn’t matter he thought. He had finally learned a truly useful jutsu and he knew his power would only continue to grow so he could fulfill his want, no, his need to protect his clan and village. As he began packing up he began to think of all of the things he could still learn, such as jutsu, his lightning element that all members of his clan had along with his light element. He thought of learning to wield a weapon possibly a wakizashi. He needed some form of close range weapon because so far he was pretty long range and his taijutsu lacked a true form.
As he walked home from the training field he began to reflect on how far he had truly come from the lessons his parents had once taught him. He had actually learned a C-rank jutsu today! That made him swell with both pride for his hard work and accomplishment. He knew though that he still had a long ways to go before he could really protect himself let alone anyone else. His resolve strengthened. He began to quicken his pace until he broke into a run then he leaped, jumping from rooftop to rooftop. His tiredness briefly being overcome by his determination. As he ran he began to practice doing maneuvers such as flips and summersaults in order to practice control over his body. His condition for himself though was that he had to maintain his speed whilst doing it and he could not allow himself to misstep or stumble. As he ran he jumped and did a reverse hand spring off of a roof vent that then allowed him to cartwheel onto a wall and use his chakra to run along it before flipping off onto a street post. He sat on top of it for around ten minutes catching his breath. He was a good fifteen meters up, but to a ninja this height was nothing. He pushed himself off of the post back to the street where he decided to walk home at a more leisurely pace seeing as he was halfway there. As he walked he was greeted by some village shop owners who were just closing up to head home for the night. He knew a few of them and offered a hello. As he made it back to his house he decided that before he went to sleep he would go to his training room that he had built in which there was a training dummy that was littered with kunai and shuriken and even senbon. He had been training his ability to throw weapons with greater accuracy and speed. His power was fine but his speed was slacking and his accuracy wasn’t amazing yet. So he began to throw shuriken at various targets painted on the walls that were hidden behind different objects. His first shuriken flew straight at the far walls target and hit it spot on he then threw two more and then a third slightly faster that passed them and threw off their course to hit two more targets one on the wall and another on the ceiling. He was getting far more skilled at using shuriken, so he switched to kunai, he threw three all hitting the two targets and then the training dummies face. He had always been pretty good at throwing kunai. Finally it was time to work on a pet project of his, throwing senbon. He found their usefulness in the field to be very appealing and knew that they would be a good tool to have. As he threw them he noticed that they lacked the power or timbre of the other two weapons but they had accuracy to a tee. Throwing these it was easy to see how one may be able to kill by hitting certain vital points like the temple or such. After he finished throwing he decided to go to sleep, he had another long day of training ahead of him tomorrow.
