Kenshin's Inspired Training (Private)
Thu Oct 29, 2015 9:39 am
Finally Kenshin found arrived in the dense jungle of Waterfall country, after he had killed the bandits from earlier it did not take him very long to cross the border into Waterfall Country, from there Kenshin had walked into the jungle and began looking for a suitable place to train, and eventually he managed to find a small clearing that would suit that purpose well. He then took the time to take in the scenery, Waterfall Country was very different to Moon Country, whereas Moon had rolling plains and light forestation Waterfall possessed very few clear areas, instead the landscape was completely covered by thick and dense jungles
Kenshin was sitting against a tree on the outskirts of the clearing, staring at the clouds through the gaps in the tree leaves, but as he was doing so something caught his attention, it was a butterfly, but it was trapped in a spiders web, and as the butterfly struggled to get free the web vibrated, causing the spider that spun the web to come out and bite the butterfly, before encasing it in a silk cocoon. This got him thinking, what if he could recreate what he'd just seen, find a way to create spider silk, and then spread it around the area to let him know when anyone enters the area, it would be quite a useful technique, especially for a missing nin as it would let him know when somebody was closing in on his current location
So with that in mind Kenshin began trying to create spider silk using nothing more than his chakra, a feat which turned out to be impossible, but then he had a thought, he knew that spiders had special glands called spinneret glands that allowed them to convert protein into silk, what if he used his own glands to do the same thing, except instead of converting protein into silk he would use his body's natural secretions to create the silk by using chakra. Kenshin realized that this would have a better chance of success so he began testing his theory out, and much to his joy it actually worked, but only with two particular types of glands, his sweat glands and his salivary glands, but he found that each gland produced a different type of silk, his sweat glands produced extremely strong yet thin and fine silk, whereas his salivary glands created extremely sticky and viscous silk, but he was sure that if he were to train each ability further than he would be able to produce even more types of silk, because he knew that most spiders can actually produce eight different types of silk
Kenshin shook his head lightly, this was no time to be thinking of techniques for the future, he was trying to learn one now, so with that thought he created ten extremely fine webs, one from each fingertip, and began spreading the silk all throughout the area, making sure to remember which fingers silk he had placed over certain areas, but he had to do it a few times as the threads snapped if he went more than 80 meters from them. When he was done he sat down and focused, the threads were more sensitive than he'd thought, as he could feel vibrations from even the slightest breeze, something that impressed him a lot. It was at this point that Kenshin felt three of the lines vibrate more than before, making him look over to the small area where all three lines overlapped, and what he saw amazed him, he saw a small rabbit hopping through the bushes, and with each hop came a number of vibrations from the silk
'Wow, this worked even better than I thought it would' thought Kenshin, realizing that if he could tell where a rabbit was with this technique that it would be child's play to find a human. Now that he had the technique down Kenshin closed his eyes, he hadn't gotten much rest lately but now that he had a way of detecting anyone who entered the area he felt safe, and that alone would give him a better rest than he'd gotten in a long time
