Mission

The night was filled with a million bright specks, the stars illuminating the darkness alongside its large companion, the moon. For most, the day was coming to a close, but for Kira and another unfortunate soul, it was just beginning. Waking up from her tamed nap, The Uzumaki restlessly got our of bed and made her way to the bathroom to get herself together. Her as well as another Kunoichi that the report named Arai had to make their way to the borders and be there by the crack of dawn to escort the cargo that would be awaiting them. In order to get there by daybreak, they would have to leave while the sun was still resting underneath the horizon. Normally, this would be an A rank mission to be handled by a Jonin, but Kira's skill had been recognized by Suna and she seemed fit to take on the task alongside the help of another fellow Genin. The heterochromatic eyed girl got dressed as well as did all the other duties on would do when they first awake and headed off to meet the girl at village gates. Hopefully, Arai had gotten the memo to meet her there.

The walk to the exit of the village was quite troublesome. The streets were filled of drunkards trying to hit on the best piece of ass that they would ever see, but it only got them a kick in the balls and spit to the face. The girl was way to cranky to be dealing with such atrocities. She had spent the whole day training a new bloodline technique that she just couldn’t seem to get right. It was going to be the key to winning the tournament that was to proceed in the next few days and if she didn’t get it right, her chances of winning would be slimmer than an anorexic’s waistline. All the training had made her lose out on some sleep, and now, poor poor Arai was going to have to deal with a very cranky redhead. Kira arrived the village gates and spotted the guards sitting in the stand near the exit. She engaged in conversation with them as she awaited the other kunoichi.

Arai pouted as she walked through the streets of Suna towards the gates. She had wanted to get an early night, to catch a bit more shut-eye so she could spend all day tomorrow training. If only she was so lucky. Right as she had gotten her sleeping gown on, there was a knock at her front door. When she opened it, a ninja she had never seen before handed her a scroll and disappeared as soon as she had came. She opened it, and saw that it was orders from the Kazekage to escort a merchant somewhere. Apparently, criminal activity was up again and the lord kage wanted to make sure that it made it to its destination on time. Arai slammed the door in frustration, hastily got all her clothes back on and rushed outside which led to where she was now.  The wolf girl arrived at the gates to see a red-head talking with the gate guards, apparently waiting for her. They seemed to be getting into it.

"Alright... alright..." Arai yawned rubbing her eyes with her right hand. "I'm here..." She approached the red-head who she was informed was Kira. She had one green eye and one blue eye and seemed just as cranky as Arai felt at this moment. She didn't want to be here either, it seemed. "What merchant leaves a village in the dead of night anyway...?" Arai mumbled to herself before smiling tiredly at Kira.

"I'm Arai Frae. Lets get this done quickly, Shall we?"

Arai walked loosely behind Kira, allowing her to take the lead. Arai was young, inexperienced and most of all, functioning purely on adrenalin. She felt as if she'd ran a marathon before coming to work on this assignment. She was pleased however that her team-mate agreed with her on one thing: That they should clear up this matter as quickly as possible. As they moved on, the temperature of the desert dropped dramatically. Why? How? How does a desert boil a man's blood in the morning then freeze it at night? She knew the answer of course, but that didn't mean she had to like it. Her temper flared every time an icy wind blew across the barren landscape with their only light being that of a cresent moon above. She was tempted to go into her wolven form just for the extra fur and warmth, but she knew better. Or at least, she thought she did. Her wolven form drained her energy quickly the longer she stayed in it and shouldn't be flaunted like a new jacket, no matter how much Arai would have liked one. They walked for a while in silence, not really communicating with one-another. That was just fine because it took a bit of the wolf-girl's concentration to keep awake and functioning at somewhere around 90%. If there was one thing the cold winds did for her, they kept her up and she didn't like it. Not one bit. Then Kira spoke, asking what her story was. Not really an odd question, nor an unexpected one. She just figured they would walk the rest of the way to their destination in silence. She hadn't really intended on making conversation, but this start of one was refreshing change.

"You ever heard of lycanthropy?" Arai asked. "That mythical disease that turns man into beast? Well... it's real." Arai let it sit there for a moment. "What about you? Anything in your life worth any note?" She knew they were approaching the sight. It was close. She was going to need to transform soon. Her animal instincts would be invaluable if a surprise attack were to occur.

“Lycanthropy?” Kira repeated shortly after the girl. “turns man into beat?” She repeated quietly to herself. Say what? The Uzumaki found the girl in her line of sight and simply stared before looking up at the moon. It was indeed a full moon. She stared back at the girl before looking straight ahead and just gulped. She remembered the storied that her sister told her about of werewolves who transformed in the dead of night and ate people. If this girl was indeed some sort of beast, then Kira was glad they were on the same side! Now, Kira wasn’t afraid of no women but the nightmares of werewolves that her sibling caused had left the Uzumaki scarred for life.

“Umm, I have two different coloured eyes?” Kira said aloud. There was nothing really important about her as being a freaking werewolf. “We’re here.” Kira said shortly after as they reached the borders. There was a large shipment of cargo being carried by two camels and two men who accompanied it, probably the ones who requested the mission. “Are you guys ready? Because it’s late and I want some sleep.” The girl said with quite the vicious tone. The two merchant simply nodded before directing the camels towards the village. “Arai take the back, I’ll take the front."

Arai grinned to herself at Kira's reaction. It was always a great source of humor when people would just stare at her, then at the moon, as if that was the basis of her transformation now. Kira's retort caused the wolf-girl to laugh out loud. It was a light and warm laugh, clearing her head of her weariness for but a moment. She smiled at Kira, thankful for her breaking the mood.

"Yeah, I noticed that... It seems to suit you well I think." Not long after she made that comment, Arai spotted the trade caravan not far up ahead. The beast-of-burden of choice was, of course, the camel as this was Suna. An ox or donkey couldn't survive in the extreme temperatures like the Camel could. Arai always thought the awkward animal was adorable, what with it's floppy lips, its bulging hump and  it's gentle eyes. She was tempted to just embrace the creature, but held herself back on the knowledge that 1, she would make Suna Nin look like complete idiots and 2, she would likely only frighten the poor beast. Kira took charge of the situation as if it was her God-given birthright, commanding the camel driver to get a move on for the sake of sleep. He had no problem with that, directing his camel to begin driving once again. Arai was about to head to the front, thinking that her animalistic senses would be a greater help at the head of the caravan, but before she could take her spot, Kira stretched out an arm in front of her and issued different orders instead. She wanted Arai at the back. She frowned slightly, disapproving with Kira's choice of deployment. She would have better range if she was placed at the front... Despite her disagreeing, she moved to the back, fingers flexing on both her hands in anticipation. She didn't think this trip would be a peaceful one...

“Thanks!” Kira replied to the compliment the wolf girl gave her about her eyes. There was no better way than getting on the Uzumaki’s good side than to compliment here, and buy her stuff. The two took there positions and began to head off back towards the village. They were about a quarter of the way back when the sun began to peak it’s bright little butt past the horizon. It seemed like it was already dawn. The sight of daybreak cause the girl to let out a large yawn and stretch out her arms. She drowsily looked ahead and squinted her eyes as she saw something out in the distance. She first thought her mind was playing tricks on her, but the closer the black figure got, the closer she realized the first sign of trouble had arrived.

“Head’s up Arai, we got some party crashers!” Kira warned the girl, who probably had already spotted the enemies as well if she wasn’t a scrub. Kira faced her left and saw another incoming figure, towards her right was a third. “We got any coming from the back?” Kira asked the girl as she pulled out a kunai and let it twirl around her index finger before gripping tightly onto it. Assuming there was, the Uzumaki belted out the next course of action. Technically, she wasn’t exactly assigned as the leader of this mission, but let’s be honest, there was no stopping the girl from taking charge. “All right! You take the guy on the back, and the one to our right, I’ll take care of the other two!” The two figures we’re now about twenty meters away and approaching somewhere around thirty speed. Kira was going to try to see if she can pull off that new move she was trying to learn!

The Uzumaki would wait until they we’re closer… closer…. now! When they we’re about five meters away, the kunoichi forged her chakra as two chakra chains sprung out at a speed of fifty and wrapped themselves around the two bandits. The left bandit got completely tied up from the legs to the hips before the chain impaled him through the stomach and knocking him out for the time being. The other one managed to avoid the attack, throwing a kunai into the chain and temporarily pining it to the sand before it made it’s way towards him like an anaconda towards its prey. It wrapped around it’s left leg before the man lost his balance and fell. Kira launched the kunai in her grasp before the man could cut loose and it impaled his chest, causing a stream of blood to release from his mouth. She hadn't exactly gotten the technique out right but it was a work in progress. Sooner or later, she'd get the chains to be more efficient. The Uzumaki turned towards the girl to see if she needed any help. When she did, she found the two merchant curled up into a ball near the camels’ legs. It made her appreciate how much of a bad ass she’s become.

Arai frowned as she saw the sun inch over the sand dunes, painting the sky in it's radiant red light. Normally, It would have been a beautiful sight to behold but right now, it was the last thing she wanted to see. Arai wanted to be in bed right now. She wanted to sleep. She wanted... At Kira's observation that they had company, Arai immediately went about her transformation, scaring the camels, not to mention the merchant. Arai's hair grew long and white, coating her body in a thick, matted fur. She grew in size until she stood a solid 6'9'' and several inches wider due to increased muscle mass. Her face contorted and stretched, appearing more wolven than human. Her hands twisted and contorted into vicious claws as her teeth did fangs. She sniffed the suna air, discovering the smell of 2 other hidden ninja pursuing from behind. They weren't an immediate threat and she would warn Kira of them as soon as these poor slobs were dealt with. Kira had commanded her to take the one in the middle, who coincidentally happened to be the one in the back. The wolf in her felt insulted. She felt she could kill each and every one of them just as simply as carving open a turkey. To prove this, she got down on all fours and lunged at the man in the back, intending to prove her effectiveness in combat. The man had a katana and was fast, but Arai's new animal instincts and body made her faster. The man swung at her neck with the blade but she ducked under the steel and latched onto his forearm with her teeth. The man screamed as blood filled the wolf-girl's mouth. Delicious! She used her hands to claw at the man's face, taking flesh out of his cheeks, eyes, jaw, anything unfortunate to get in the way of her vicious fangs. The man struggled, kicked screamed, punched with his free hand, anything he could do but it was no use. He was already weakening. The werewolf jerked her neck to the left, then to the right, pulling the man's arm out of socket. Another jerk and his arm came off, complete with the oh-so appetizing sound and sight of tearing flesh, snapping bone, and ripping tendons. The werewolf reveled in the flesh hanging from her mouth, munching on it like a dog would a bone before sinking her claws into the man's throat brutally, effectively decapitating him. Arai tore her fingers free, dropping the arm in her mouth to suck on the blood that dripped from her claws. That's when she caught the whiff of the two men approaching from behind. They were much closer now, cloaked from sight somehow, but their sent was still there. Still detectable. She turned her head in the direction of the men and growled hungrily at them. Suddenly, the blood-fever was over and her head cleared. The human began clawing its way back to the surface, and the thought that she should warn Kira of these men behind her would be vital occurred to her.

"Kira!" Arai warned, noting how quickly and effectively she got rid of her opponents. Her voice was deep, scratchy and throaty, nothing like how she was was before. Arai pointed a blood soaked talon across the sands, about 20 meters back from where they've came from.

"There are two men approaching from that direction. They are under some kind of cloak. I can't see them, but I can smell them." The wolf-girl returned back to the caravan, blood-soaked face contorted in concentration as she tried to pinpoint the exact location of the men.

"I think I can get them. Shall I weed them out?"

-30 Lycanthropy transformation

When Kira turned to see how Arai had held up, nothing could express the horrified look that overcame her. She had turned just in time to see the bandit get his head ripped off by the man-beast thing that was Arai. The pool of blood that surrounded the now deceased man was overwhelming. It seemed as if it had been the blood of many instead of just one. The limb that was held in the girl’s mouth was dropped in order for the girl to suck on her fingers as if she had just eaten a dozen bbq chicken wings and was licking off the excess sauce. It overall scene was just very, very disturbing. She would probably never be able to look at the girl the same way again.

When the raspy voice called out her name, The Uzumaki turned her attention to the direction that the werewolf pointed towards.”We don’t know what we’re dealing with. Better to figure them out from afar." Kira leaped over the cargo and extended her first towards the direction that Arai had pointed. Almost immediately, a sealing formula enveloped half of her arm as three bolts of red chakra shot out of the palm of her hand. The blasts of chakra continued their course before running into an unknown object and caused an explosion due to the impact. Kira let her hand fall as she waited for the smoke to clear as the last two of the crooks revealed themselves, but these weren’t no ordinary crooks. It was a boy and a girl, both with similar looking qualities, probably siblings. They both had bleach blonde hair and a scare that went vertically down one of their eyes. “Looks like we got beauty and the beast.” The sister said, letting out an evil sounding giggle. It didn’t take a rocket science to conclude that these two we’re going to be a lot tougher than the nameless men the took care of moments ago.

"Lets finish them off quickly shall we brother?” The two quickly began forming hand signs as a large stream of water began to flow out of the gourd that the man carried and formed into a multitude of senbon. The girl had finished her seals as the water began to fizzle with what seemed to be like an electric current before the dozen or so senbon we’re launched at the pair. Acting quickly, Kira formed the hand of confrontation and placed her arm our in time to form a barrier that the projectiles crashed into without unsuccessfully breaking through. “Arai, I have a plan, but we need to close the distance. Follow my lead.” The heterochromatic eyed girl spoke in an audible whisper and she pulled out two smoke bombs from her ninja pouch. The two siblings seemed to be preparing their next attack, but The Uzumaki wasn’t going to give them the chance. Kira launched her two smoke bombs as it engulfed the surrounding perimeter of the enemy, blinding their view of the kunoichi. “Let’s move!” Kira shouted as as ran around the barrier and sprinted at her max speed towards the two ninja.

While sprinting, eight other chains sprouted from the girl’s body adding to the previous two that she summoned. All ten chains wrapped around her body as if using it like a set of armour. This tactic worked as the aimless projectiles that she was unable to dodge just bounced off the chains. Kira leaped out of the smoke as the two siblings came into clear view. Now, the Uzumaki unwrapped the chain from her body and used them to tie up the two sibling, one chain enwrapping each limb including their neck. “Arai, go!” She shouted, as the two we’re now incapable of fighting back, or for the time being weren’t able to. The Uzumaki created an opening for the girl that she hope she would use.

Arai shrugged her (now) massive shoulders. It was Kira's call whether or not how they dealt with their invisible foes. She watched as Kira bombarded the general area the wolf-girl had pointed out with some strange red projectile. Dust rose into the air, forming a natural smoke screen around whatever Kira was hitting. Gradually, the bombardment stopped and the smokescreen began to clear. The scent of the two stalkers inched under the wolf-girl's nose and she snarled at them like a guard dog would an intruder. There wasn't a bit of blood on them, at least as far as she could smell. Dodging these was impressive. Whoever was behind that screen weren't  just your average, everyday bandits. The two stepped through the smoke screen as brazen and cocky as you like. One was male, the other was female. Both had generally the same physical build, both were generally the same height but their similarities went farther than that. Both had their hair cut short and bleached white, not to mention the scar placed vertically on top of one of their eyes. It was tweedle dee and tweedle dum over here. Although the wolf inside had already given them the affectionate name of tweedle dumb and tweedle dead. To prove how accurate both their points were, the girl made a passing comment about Kira and Arai being the beauty and the beast. Were Arai human in this case, she would have been heavily offended. But being a werewolf, she didn't quite care how she looked. What she did care about was what these two looked like on the inside. I guess she found out who tweedle dead was. Tweedle dumb over there said nothing, holding his gourd, waiting on the girl's command. The blood-fever slowly began to surface again, saliva pooling in her mouth and through her teeth in anticipation for the kill. Just then, the gourd popped open, flooding water at them in a massive tidal wave. Normally, this wouldn't be much of a problem, but she noticed the needles hiding amongst the foam. Kira acting quicker than Arai, reached out a hand, creating an invisible barrier in front of them, blocking the flow of deadly water. As it hit the barrier however, it sizzled and hissed, turning into. The water was electrically charged in addition to the needles. Great. Arai was getting ready to go for the girl as she seemed to be the one in charge of the electricity but Kira stopped her by saying she had a plan. She stepped out from behind her barrier and tossed two smoke bombs at the bandit's feet, obscuring their vision. Arai leaped into action as Kira did, using her sense of smell to locate Tweedle Dead. She was first. Arai used her strong back legs to propel herself in the direction of the girl, barreling into her as she broke through the smoke. She landed on top, holding a gnarled claw over her head like a hammer. One thing she notice though was that she as wrapped in some kind of chain from neck down. Strange... Must have been Kira's work. That thought only halted her for a second. If she couldn't get at the girl's throat, she would work with her face. She swiped her left claw across the side of her head, knocking it violently sideways and causing a large stream of blood explode from the side of it. The blow would have killed minor men, but the girl was tougher and only gave her a small concussion. Head wounds always liked to bleed. Arai then used her left claw to swipe at the other side of her head with the same result. Repeat. again. again. again. Until her skull caved in like a rotted ceiling. Her head looked like an egg who met a hammer on a bad day. She was clearly dead. Arai got off the girl's corpse, bits of bone and grey-matter hung from her claws. Then there was the male. Tweedle dumb became Tweedle dumbfounded, seemingly unable to comprehend the sight he had just witness. His double killed right before his eyes.
