Jacks Clone Training
Sat Dec 19, 2015 5:47 pm
As Jack arrived at the training field, he closed his eyes to think about what his goals were for today. He was hoping to have a good grip on his clone jutsu by the end of the day, that way he could move on to transformation jutsu tomorrow.
As he took his position at the center of the field, he focused his chakra and used the correct handseals, attempting to perform clone jutsu yet again. A cloud of smoke appeared, and when it cleared, Jack stood between two seemingly dead copies of himself. "Damn" he muttered under his breath. Two more duds to add to the collection. He dispelled them and quickly tried again. This time, they weren't dead, but were incapable of standing or moving. After dispelling these two, he tried 5 more times, with no luck on getting a good clone. "I just can't seem to get them right" he thought to himself as he sat down to take a short break while he thought about what he could be doing wrong.

By the time he was ready to start again, he decided the only way to properly make clones was to try and try again until he got it right. Sticking to this way of thinking, he continued training, constantly failing, until he hit his next marker. He made a single clone, that while not being able to walk around and perform basic tasks, could move slightly, and wiggle a little bit. While it wasn't a proper clone, it was better than when he had started today, and with a renewed resolve, he trained for another hour, making clone after clone after clone, until he was too tired to continue. When he reached this point, he decided it was time for another break, this time one that really lasts.

After his break was over, Jack continued his training, moving at a slower pace, as to conserve chakra. His first attempt this time was the same as the last time, It could move and wiggle a little bit, but not walk or do anything a baby couldn't. So far today, he had met failure after failure, with little progress, but was still determined to get it down by the end of the day. This time he switched from making two clones at his sides to making a single clone in front of himself. When he did this, his clone could stand properly and walk around, but still couldn't do anything more advanced. After practicing for another hour with little progress, he decided he would hurt himself if he kept going without some food. He stopped for a quick ramen break, thinking about what he could be doing wrong with his clones.

After a hot meal, Jack decided to spend the rest of his day training until he got it, even if it killed him. So he sat there, training. He made clone after clone after clone, studying each one to see what mistakes were made. After 10, he had improved his work, but not made it good enough to pass the genin exams. So he continued his training, merciless in his criticism of himself, until he could make a single good clone. One good clone is only worth about three bad ones however, so he had to continue his training. It was becoming late in the day and he stayed, working himself to exhaustion. He finally collapsed, his body forcing him to take a break. As he lay there, he built up his energy enough to try just one more time. One more try, then he has to be done for the day, no matter how much he tried to continue. One more try, and he had to wait longer to gain his rank, to gain power, to become one step closer to perfect. He couldn't afford to wait, so he stood, and used his built up energy to create as many clones as he could make perfectly. After all his work, and his training, he finally made a good batch of clones, if you could call 2 a real batch. And after that, he saw that he made 2 good ones, and dispelled them. staggered home, and fell asleep. He was happy that he had accomplished his goal, so that tomorrow he could move on to his other goal, learning transformation jutsu. He was one step closer to greatness.
