Kukla had just had his 18th birthday and after a brief ceremony, was off traveling the world, in an attempt to learn and such. It had taken little time to leave the Nazar Compound given its close proximity to the shore, and as such, he was already on his way out to the mainland, where he hoped he could have a grand time in the search for enlightenment.

After a long wait, sitting on his heels so to speak, Kukla was able to get passage on a crowded ship to the nearest destination, that would give a pretty scenic view of the destroyed ruins of Kirigakure. This would be a relaxing trip hopefully. The destination being the land of Tea, specifically a so called "Island of Riches" if the promoter was not joking around. Maybe Kukla could learn something about business while there?
