Re: Training of The Hyuuga and Uchiha
Sat Feb 27, 2016 7:48 am
Maloren raised an eyebrow at the boy for his offer to continue working on his own techniques. He certainly appreciated the gesture. He would certainly owe Jace for this, he knew he needed to speak to Jace about what happened during their B rank mission before. His anger at him at the time was too high to simply ignore. If there was a chance at all he still held resentment he needed that out of the way or they could seriously harm themselves in future missions. He looked up at the sky as he chewed his own candy bar. The sun was now high in the sky again, and the clouds were no where to be seen. He couldn't believe how fast the weather had changed, and he knew it could easily change again. He reached into his pouch and pulled out a scroll before setting it down on the dry grass and unraveling it.
The scroll listed the techniques he intended to learn to further himself. He had put extensive research into figuring out how he could train himself to be a problem for anyone that would fight him. One of the things he would need to work out was how to close distance quickly so he could get in range for his taijutsu. The technique at the top of his list "Flicker Movement" was simply the best shot he had. The list also had a few wind techniques listed that he could learn and a genjutsu or two should the situation call for it. He cracked his next as he finished his candy bar, then turned to Jace and spoke. "The intent is to learn Flicker Movement next, this'll help me get in close to unleash my taijutsu assaults against the enemy." He explained as he stood up and reached down to help him up as well. "Then I intended to learn some wind techniques and genjutsu so that I could be well rounded against all threats. My wind affinity would work wonders with you as well, so I figured since we were teammates we could work that out and have a few combos to use in case our backs are to the wall." He said as he reached down to pick up the scroll.
The technique would require him to slow down his one personal time flow. Allowing him to move faster and leave an afterimage in his wake. This would hopefully confuse the opponent while he used the speed increase to dash in and assault them with his gentle fist style techniques. Which would be devastating to any opponent if they let him get too close. He cracked his neck once more before he began to channel his chakra around him. Working to slow down his personal time flow. He figured he needed to condition the air with his chakra a bit before he could do so, as that would just make sense wouldn't it? He would need Jace to confirm the existence of his afterimages and such so he could focus on whether or not he was moving faster. He turned toward his Uchiha teammate and spoke these thoughts. "Do me a favor and tell me if you see any afterimages appearing behind me. This is how I know the technique will be working." He explained before he continued to condition the air around him again.
He felt the chakra radiate from every tenketsu point, this was the easy part for a Hyuuga after all. Since they needed to release their chakra from every chakra point to perform their Palm Revolving Heaven technique. As such he had plenty of practice with it. When he had the air conditioned around him he began to manipulate the chakra in the air around him, attempting to distort his own personal space. He couldn't really feel any different after having manipulated his chakra, as such he figured nothing had happened. He worked on trying to get the feel of the chakra in the air around him. He wasn't one to usually use space time techniques as such this was an extremely area of skill for his usual taijutsu oriented skill set. Because of this he wasn't sure what he was feeling for when it came to knowing he had it down correctly.
He cracked his neck once more, the bad habit of his would cause him to gain arthritis before his time if he kept it up, but he couldn't help it. It just happened subconsciously at this point. He gave a long stretch before realizing what he was doing wrong. He couldn't manipulate chakra OUTSIDE of his body, he wasn't a safe after all. He began to switch up the strategy by releasing for chakra from his chakra points in a constant rate. He would manipulate the chakra right before it left his body, preconditioning the chakra before it left him. He instantly felt the difference as he felt thing seem to slow down. He grinned and began to move as fast as possible around Jace, hoping the after images might even confuse the hallowed sharingan.
He would spin around him quickly, circling him on the ground before he began to dash, and jump around him, attempting to confuse his teammate. The area around him looked rather confusing with his byakugan as everyone else seemed to be moving slightly slower, but he easily compensated by comparing what he was seeing to how fast he was moving. That would allow him to not become dazed in combat. He would stop moving suddenly in front of the Uchiha, his breath not even ragged yet. He had learned much more strenuous techniques after all. He was glad to have this technique added to his repertoire. It might even save him or his teammates life later on. That alone was worth working harder. He looked back up toward the sky and smiled at the day, it may have rained hard earlier, but the sun was bright and shiny now. He looked down to Jace and raised an eyebrow in question on whether or not an afterimage was in fact existent when he moved.

Re: Training of The Hyuuga and Uchiha
Fri Mar 04, 2016 5:01 am
Jace waited patiently for a response to his own words. The rain had stopped and the clouds were gone. Already the weather was returning to the normal warmth of the Fire Country with the sun shining down on the two boys as they took their small break. A flock of birds caught Jace's eye as the flew past overhead. He couldn't help but see the beauty in nature. He loved his village and the peaceful surroundings of forests and wildlife. Generally if the Uchiha didn't have his nose in a book he was either training or simply enjoying the world around him. Today it just so happened that he was doing both of those things, though more so the latter than the former as of yet. After a few short moments the boy would turn his attention back toward the Hyuuga. He noticed a scroll spread out along the dry patch of grass in front of Mal. From the angle he was looking, Jace couldn't quite read the scroll in it's entirety, but from what he could make out it looked like a list of techniques of some sort. There were mostly things he had never heard of or seen before, but a few genjutsu were listed as well which caught the boy by surprise.
Before Jace could mention this, however, the other boy would crack his neck and begin to speak, having finally finished his own candy bar. He told Jace that he had planned to learn some technique called 'Flicker Movement' that would apparently allow him to get within close quarters to his opponents to unleash his devastating taijutsu techniques. The boy had also mentioned wanting to learn a few techniques involving the wind element and of course, the genjutsu that Jace had noticed scrawled hastily on the scroll, almost as if they were an afterthought. It seemed that the Hyuuga wanted to make himself 'well rounded' to take on as many different variations in opponent as he needed. Overall it was a good plan, but Jace thought that focusing too much on a big variety of techniques would leave him without any noticeable weaknesses nor strengths. The Uchiha supposed this could be both good and bad and decided the kid probably knew what he was doing. In theory it was a good plan after all, especially honing his wind element to combine with Jace's own fire element.
He watched the other boy as he reached to pick up the scroll and then stood up. Jace was content to stay sitting in the grass where he was. He would have stayed there for the entirety of Mal's training of the Flicker Movement technique if he hadn't asked the Uchiha for his assistance, albeit only slight assistance. He had simply asked Jace to let him know if any afterimages appeared behind him, mentioning that it was how he would know if he was performing the technique correctly or not. The boy would simply nod in response and kept his eyes trained on him as the training began. Already Jace could see the Hyuuga manipulating his chakra in a way that Jace had not yet seen done. It was certainly interesting watching a member of the Hyuuga clan work. They were known for excellent chakra control, being demonstrated before Jace's eyes as Mal let his chakra flow through every tenketsu point.
Soon the Jace saw that the boy had stopped attempting to manipulate chakra. He cracked his neck once more, something Jace had noticed the Hyuuga happened to do quite often, and stretched himself out a bit. Something must have clicked in his head about the technique because when he returned to manipulating chakra it was different from how he had been doing it before. This time around he was releasing a steady flow of chakra from each tenketsu point. The chakra seemed to be altered just before it left his body. Next thing Jace knew, the boy was dashing around him quickly. It seemed like his speed only increased the longer he moved. Jace stayed seated where he was and only tried to keep track of the Hyuuga when he was within his field of vision. Soon, the boy had begun to jump and dash as he ran, though Jace was able to follow his movements perfectly. There had still been no sign of an afterimage up until now. That was about to change. Slowly but surely an afterimage formed behind the boy as he circled the Uchiha.
It was a few more minutes before Mal finally stopped in front of Jace once more, not even slightly out of breath. Jace found that quite impressive if he was being honest. It showed the boy was used to vigorous training, which only meant the Uchiha had gained a powerful teammate after all. Mal had been looking up at the sky for a moment before switching his gaze to Jace and raising an eyebrow, probably questioning the existence of the afterimage from the technique. In response to the raising of the eye brow, Jace smiled and spoke up. "Looks like you did it. There was definitely an after image." he said in answer to the silent question. At this point Jace finally decided to lift himself from the ground, preparing to work on something of his own. Still smiling at the Hyuuga, Jace spoke up. "If you're satisfied with that technique, do you mind helping me out with a genjutsu?" he would finally ask.
It wasn't exactly a genjutsu he wanted to practice though. It was more so a way to use the genjutsu he already knew as well as new ones he still had plans to learn. Jace was adept at using genjutsu and controlling crows independently. He had been working on an idea for a few days that would let him combine the two. It was mainly meant to work in conjunction with the technique he had already used once today to summon a flock of crows. If he could get this down he knew he would be much better equipped to handle fights. Since Maloren had already offered to help Jace with his own training the Uchiha figured he would take advantage of that. "Well, it isn't exactly a genjutsu I want to practice, but it will involve casting a genjutsu on you. Do you know how to use the genjutsu release?" he added on to his question.
He would wait for his teammate to answer on whether or not he knew how to release a genjutsu. If the answer was yes, then Jace would go ahead and get started. If the answer was no, Jace would instead instruct the boy on how to release a genjutsu, making sure he had it down before beginning his training. Once Jace was certain the boy could release genjutsu on his own, he would go into a brief explanation of his training. "Alright. So what I want to do will involve summoning crows again and using the genjutsu I just finished learning. The goal is to cast the genjutsu using the crows as a medium. You're going to be the target for this. I'll need you to let me know when the genjutsu works without you seeing any white feathers at all. Don't forget to release the genjutsu each time so you don't fall asleep."
After explaining what he planned on doing, Jace would close his eyes and take a deep breath before finally beginning. Opening his eyes, the boy would perform a series of hand seals slowly and pointedly. He wasn't in the middle of a battle so it didn't matter how fast he finished them, only that he did them. Rat-Boar-Tiger. When the Tiger seal was finished, a flock of twenty five crows would reappear surrounding Jace. These would be the birds he was going to use as a conduit for his genjutsu. The loud cawing could be heard throughout the training fields. To some it may be overly annoying or displeasing to hear. Not to Jace. The crows were his friends and he felt more at home with them around. He welcomed the song they sang into his ears. A smile spread across the Uchiha's face. "Ready?" he asked finally before he cast the genjutsu. When Mal gave Jace the go ahead, he would make another single hand seal. Tiger. He focused his chakra outward to overcome the crows that he had summoned, and in turn he could see the chakra radiating outward from each of the crows that had stayed within ten meters of himself. So that was the limit to the range of casting genjutsu this way. He was sure he could live with that.
Almost immediately he could see white feathers falling from the sky and piling on top of each other on the ground surrounding the area. It wasn't right. Looking over at Mal, he saw the boy perform the genjutsu release. Jace would release the genjutsu and watched as the feathers disappeared as quickly as they had come. He would try it again. Once more he focused his chakra upon the crows surrounding him. Then he performed the required hand seal for the Temple of Nirvana genjutsu. This time the feathers again fell from the sky, only there was a significantly less amount than there had been the first time. It was progress. Once again he dismissed the genjutsu and the feathers faded from existence. Again the boy would look over to make sure his teammate had released the genjutsu before continuing his training. Seeing that the Hyuuga had indeed released the genjutsu, Jace would once again cover the surrounding crows with his chakra.
Tiger. The hand seal was formed quickly this time and the boy watched as even less of the white feathers began to fall. Instead of the numerous amount that was usual for the genjutsu, only a handful could be seen falling. There were so little of them that Jace could actually count them this time unlike before. Still, if there was even one feather being created it was too much. He needed to get it so that the genjutsu was working solely through the crows he had summoned. Once more the Uchiha released the genjutsu and the feathers faded away. Again he saw that Maloren had released the genjutsu and he was clear to continue. He repeated his actions over once more. He extended his chakra through the crows surrounding him and performed the necessary hand seal. He was shocked for a moment as it seemed no feathers were raining down at all. He thought that he had finally been able to do it after days upon days of training. He was just about to call it completed when he noticed a single feather falling from the sky. "Shit. Almost there." he said to himself before releasing the genjutsu for a third time.
He performed the hand seal for what he hoped would be the last time in order to get this skill of his down. Just as he had last time, Jace was excited to see that no feathers at all had even started to rain down among him and his teammate. He waited for a few minutes to make sure that this time for sure there were no feathers. When he was completely sure that no feathers would be coming down, Jace looked over at Mal to see if the genjutsu was working. He watched as the boys eye lids began to lower slightly, the look of exhaustion clear on his face. The Hyuuga finally performed the genjutsu release for what was going to be the last time in the exercise for this skill. Jace had finally gotten it down. Sure he had only practiced performing one genjutsu using his crows as a conduit, but he was certain that he would be able to do the same with any other genjutsu he had in his arsenal. With a smile on his face, Jace would release both the genjutsu and the crow summoning, the area become eerily silent with the absence of the bird's cawing.
"Phew. I finally got it down. I've been working on that for days now. Thank you for your help. Let me take another quick break before we do anything else." he said to Maloren as he sat back down on the dry grass from earlier.

Heard this was okay? Gonna approve if Mal agrees and he can claim mid topic on his next post as well so its fair.
So Approved unless A) This actually isn't a thing or B) Mal disagrees with doing this.

Re: Training of The Hyuuga and Uchiha
Thu Mar 17, 2016 11:13 am
Maloren listened to Jace explain that he intended to practice something in regards to his genjutsu on him. He mentioned that he would need to cast one on him a few times and asked him if he knew the genjutsu release. Maloren gave in a nod in understanding and affirmation. “Sure, yeah I know the genjutsu release. Start when you’re ready Uchiha.” He said with a shrug as he watched Jace begin. He watched him make a few slow handseals before summoning a flock of twenty five crows around him. They filled the training field with their cries and Maloren almost cringed at the sound. He would have to get used to it of course seeing as the crow summoning, genjutsu throwing, eye of hacks having person in front of him was his teammate. He shrugged off those thoughts, and the noise, as Jace began to channel chakra. He watched with his byakugan active as Jace expanded his chakra to his crows. He noticed it stop at 10 meters, and put that information away for the future. Maloren was surprised however to see Jace perform a single handseal and a large number of feathers began to fall. He quickly performed the genjutsu release and waited. It appeared he had severely underestimated the Uchiha. He watched him perform that technique during the last mission they were on and it took much more handseals. It had to be the crows.
He cracked his neck, now knowing that his teammate had a fair bit more power than he thought and awaited the next genjutsu. It came a few moment later, this time however with much fewer feathers. He raised an eyebrow at this “He couldn’t be masking the genjutsu with the crows could he?..” He thought to himself as he released the genjutsu and looked toward the small black avians. There were allowing him to cast the genjutsu to where he couldn’t see the feathers. “If he making this to fight against me?..” He thought momentarily before dismissing the thought. They were teammates, he wouldn’t do that. Unless he was still mad about what he did during the mission? Would he create a devastating new technique, just to get back him for something so petty? Maloren came to the conclusion that he didn’t really know. He had a brief flashback of the sheer anger on Jaces face when he mildly flirted with Queen, the unrepented fury. He resolved to keep his guard up and to speak with him today. He watched as Jace performed the genjutsu again, only this time a single feather fell. He quickly dispelled it and watched as Jace looked around excitedly for a minute before noticing the feather. Maloren couldn’t help the small chuckle at the visual.
He watched Jace try it again only for this time for there to be no feathers. Maloren purposefully waited to perform the release until his eyes got heavy. For all they knew the genjutsu hadn’t cast and Jace would’ve celebrated for nothing. He felt the effects begin and he quickly released the technique. He walked over to Jace and nodded at his explanation of how long it took. He raised an eyebrow at his request for a break and shrugged. He’d let him do that, but he himself didn’t really do anything. He could use a nearby training dummy he had prepared for this occasion easily enough. It was only about five meters away after all. He would move over to the dummy and make sure it was prepared for gentle fist techniques. The dummy would have countless pieces of paper stuck to the back of the dummy, but in reality the paper was attached at the exact location of the chakra points. This allowed a Hyuuga to see if they could channel chakra through the target tenketsu. Maloren had long since mastered that aspect, it was something all Hyuuga learned to do after all. Today however he was going to practice a new idea.
The idea came to him when he was researching techniques he could incorporate into his gentle fist style. He ended up reading about the hokages of centuries past. Particularly about one Naruto Uzumaki and read about his Rasengan. He looked further into the technique and read about the three steps to learning it. He was extremely interested in the first one. Popping a water balloon with ones chakra by swirling it would involve curving the chakra into many directions at once. But if he could utilize that single principle he could theoretically curve his chakra inside someone else body through his gentle fist, thus damaging the internal organs and chakra system much more. The way he would practice this was with this dummy. If he could hit one point, and knock the paper off another he knew he could do it. He moved to stand before the dummy and activated his byakugan to look at his chakra within the target so he could see for himself.
He could plainly see the paper on the other side of the dummy and struck out a quick strike on the dummy to try to begin his training. He tried to curve the chakra while it went into his target’s body but couldn’t get it to move at all. He knitted his eyebrows in concentration and tried again, once again failing to curve his chakra at all. He began to think back to what he had read but it gave no hints on how to do it. This bugged him a great deal of course, as he’d have to try it the old fashioned way. He began to look at his fingers and try to make the chakra curve out of them normally without striking anything. He imagined it would look pretty odd to Jace, but that didn’t matter right now. If he could learn this technique he would gain a huge edge in combat. Imagine striking someone’s shoulder and shutting off their brain? The applications in combat would be incredible to the rest of his clan.
He continued to try to get his chakra to curve out of his finger, swirling the chakra as it reached the surface and then letting it go. But this seemed to not work very well, the chakra was just dissipating in the air. He briefly considered walking over to Jace after staring at his fingers for so long and saying “Smell my finger” to see his reaction, but quickly shook his head at that idea. He needed to train, not prank people. He began to consider other gentle fists techniques that used a similar thought of expelling chakra but required it to be ‘conditioned’ somehow. His mind immediately leapt to the Protection Eight Trigrams Sixty Four Palms technique. It required him to make small beams of chakra capable of cutting virtually anything out of his palms. That particular technique required him to do the conditioning as it left his body. Maybe this was the same, in this case it would be the point of impact.
He dropped back into his gentle fist stance and released a deep sigh before striking. He tried to curve his chakra as he struck, making it go from one shoulder to the other. He watched with his byakugan and smiled as he was met with success. The chakra went from the dummy’s left shoulder and curved to the right. Increasing the damage he’d done significantly. Now he just needed to get the aim down. He began striking faster, curving the chakra just as he struck and began aiming for particular places on the dummy. He struck the right arm and tried to curve his chakra down toward the left leg and succeeded in that. He struck the stomach and tried to curve the chakra toward the brain and succeeded in that. He tried multiple combinations and met with success each and every time, even when aiming for different tenketsu and organs from the same starting point. He back away from the dummy and began to wonder about the applications of this trick into the other gentle fist techniques, the sixty four palms was obvious, he’d be able to close one hundred and twenty eight chakra points instead of just sixty four. But what about the Vacuum Palm? He dropped down into his stance in front of the dummy and took a deep breath. “Vacuum Palm!” He’d call out as he struck the air in front of the dummy and the force of chakra hit it and knocked it back twenty meters. The dummy was still very much intact, just moved, with a long trench in the ground. He then walked up to it and took another deep breath. He began to channel his chakra and has he shot it out of his palms he curved the chakra and forced more into it. This allowed the chakra to begin swirling inside of the Vacuum Palm, moving around with great force, it also allowed him to put more chakra into it. The resulting technique was almost completely different as when the bullet struck the dummy it ceased to exist. Splinters littered the ground around the field as the Dummy exploded in a cloud of wood. Maloren stood there dumbstruck for a few moments, his eye twitching before a laugh and a grin came to his face. He then got a prank idea and turned toward Jace with said grin, hoping to make the Uchiha think he was the next target. He’d then laugh and move over to sit with him. Destructive techniques aside they needed to have a talk about the mission.
As he sat down next to the Uchiha he pulled out of a couple of water bottle from his pack and tossed one to him. He then spread his legs out a bit and relaxed leaning on his arms for support. “Well that was particularly productive.” He started he sat forward long enough to open the water bottle and take a drink. Afterwards he’d look toward his pink eye having (™) teammate and dawn a serious expression. “You may not realize this Uchiha, but I caught that look you gave me during our last mission. The anger evident on your eyes when I flirted with our, admittedly quite beautiful, third teammate.” He began before taking another drink of water. “I want you to realize that I never intended to offend anyone, that was just a little bit of my natural personality, when I’m comfortable with people. I’m not always the quiet taijutsu user who meditates. Although yes, I do enjoy the meditation..” He mentioned as an afterthought. “The point is I wasn’t really flirting with her, to be honest I have a hard time doing such a thing seriously. I was merely poking fun if you will, trying to be more comfortable, more myself. I’d like to think I can act as such around you two.” He continued as he turned his attention to the clouds in the sky. “I don’t want to go after or date Queen, nor will any such desire occur.” Said as an image of a certain silver eyed shinobi appeared before his eyes. “As such don’t get angry if I continue to jokingly flirt with Queen, I promise it’s not an attempt to ‘steal your girl’” He finished as he downed the rest of the water bottle and stood up with a stretch. He cracked his neck and shot him a grin “How about a spar? Rules would be as follows: No bloodlines, no genjutsu, and I can’t use chakra in my gentle first strikes. I can however use my Vacuum Palm as it’s ranged and can easily be avoided. You can use any NINJUTSU you know. Deal?” He question with a raised eyebrow. He didn’t want to wake up in a field of splinters later, which is why he said no genjutsu. But he didn’t want to seriously injure the Uchiha, which the gentle fist, despite its name, was bad at not doing. He still had an immense knowledge of pressure points on the body, that tended to come with x-ray vision that you use in every single fight. He could work with that, and Jace had plenty of ranged capability. All in all he thought the terms were good.
(7200, not claiming yet, I wanna see big numbers at the end ;D)
Re: Training of The Hyuuga and Uchiha

After Jace finished learning his new skill, he simply sat down on the grass and took a break. He watched Mal walk over to a training dummy and start doing some stuff. Jace figured he'd let the boy do his own thing for a bit while Jace rested. He lied on his back on the soft grass, his arms folded behind his head as he stared up into the clouds for a while. After a few minutes he closed his eyes and let his mind wander. He wasn't really thinking about anything in particular, just letting random thoughts float by. Before long Jace's meanderings were disturbed by the sound of the Hyuuga's voice addressing the Uchiha. The boy opened one eye to look at Maloren at his first words. What caused him to sit up and really pay attention was the mentioning of the last mission they were on, the one where Jace had caught Maloren flirting with Queen. The Uchiha listened as the other boy explained that that was just the way he was and he wasn't seriously flirting with the blonde. He told Jace that he had no desires to go after Queen in any kind of romantic light.
The Uchiha was silent for a moment or two as he let Maloren's words sink in. "Alright. I'll try not to get mad if it happens again." he said finally, letting a small smile upon his face. The Hyuuga next suggested a spar between the two. The one rule was that they could each only use ninjutsu. Jace didn't really know many ninjutsu techniques at all since he focused mainly on genjutsu, but he decided it could be fun regardless. "Sure. I'd be ok for that." he said as he stood up and made his way to stand 10 meters away from his teammate. "Alright. You can make the first move when you're ready."

Maloren dropped into a textbook perfect gentle fist stance, eyeing his opponent warily as he did so. He couldn't activate his byakugan so he kept his eyes on his opponents shoulders as they would give away his plan of attack easily when he started to move. He took a deep breath nodded to himself and prepared himself to attack The Uchiha before he looked up and noticed the sun in the sky. He looked at it's position and realized he had stayed too long. This hadn't been the only thing he needed to do today and he was quickly running out of sunlight as the sun began to transform the color of the sky to a portrait of pinks and purples. He dropped his stance and stood straight "I apologize Jace, but I stopped looking at the time long ago apparently, this wasn't the only thing I had intended to do this day." He explained as he nodded his head toward the sun that was behind the Uchiha. "I need to get them done before I can head home for the night and I thought I'd have more time to recover from any damage done, but it seems I do not. We'll have to spar another day." He said before giving Jace a small bow in apology and leaving the field to go do the tasks he needed to do.

Jace just shrugged at his friends change of mind and then walked away. He planned on going home to get some much needed rest.
