Togirama Hyuuga's Genin Exam

Togirama Hyuuga slowly made his way to the academy, he had set off early after having a light breakfast in order to be on time but now the blind Hyuuga was positively dawdling. It was that time again, the Genin exams had come and the next crop of prospective Genin were to be tested and this year that group included Togirama himself. Togi had to admit he was feeling somewhat apprehensive, he had certainly put the required training in but today was judgement day, today was the day that would establish whether moving to Suna to become a ninja had been all worth it.

Reaching the academy Togi slowly reached out with his chakra senses noting that there was already a large number of chakra signatures gathered together. A large number of these appeared as fairly dim blue lights to Togi's chakra senses, these were Togi's fellow students who were to also be tested today and the young Hyuuga could not help but note that his own signature was brighter and stronger than a number of these.The other signatures that Togi could detect were much much stronger, these were with out a doubt the academy instructors and examinors. It was these signatures that Togi focused on as he made his way inside.

Once inside the classroom Togi took a seat as he listened to the excited and nervous chatter of his classmates. After a short while of waiting the room became full with academy students and then it began as the students were called in to the next room one by one...

'Stay calm, you know the jutsu and have performed them all before this should just be a simple procedure...' Togi thought to himself.

proctor was ready and waiting as the student arrived, her dull golden locks tied in a no nonsense bun and her thin rectangular glasses perched high on her nose. She had seen every type of student there was in her fifteen year long career as a teacher and she was proud of it. Ushering the students in, she spoke sternly.

"When I call out your name, you will all demonstrate for me the clone jutsu and the transformation jutsu that you have learned. You will also demonstrate a different use for each of these jutsu," she would say, gesturing for the first student to stand in the middle of the class room. Once she was properly situated, the proctor would say "You may begin."

Thr blonde went down the list, passing some, sending more back for further training and finally, near the end of her list, called out. "Hyuuga, Togirama."

Togirama Hyuuga sat at the back of the class calmly waiting as his fellow students were called out one by one to take their tests. Togi spared a moment to congratulate or commiserate his classmates after their exams though the young Hyuuga spent most of his time focusing on what he was going to do in his own exam. ’The transformation technique and the clone technique… not my favourite jutsus but I have practiced and practiced them and I just need to remember the advice that both Ryu-senpai and Yoshi-senpai gave me. They have both been through this themselves not too long ago so they must know what they are talking about’ Togi silently declared.
 
When his name was called out Togi slowly got to his feet brushed off his light grey robes and took a deep breath to calm himself. Togi could quite clearly hear the whispers of the other students as he stood up, it was no secret that the young Hyuuga was blind and there was those among his peers who did not think he should be at the academy and more still who doubted he would be able to pass the test. The young academy student hopefully soon to be Genin then slowly made his way to the front of the class and took the examinees spot. Staring forward with dull grey lifeless eyes Togi did not seem to be focusing on anything but in reality his chakra senses were going crazy studying absolutely everything that he could though the majority of his attention was focused on the examiner who was about to test him and decide his future.
 
Raising his hands up he placed them together and formed the ram seal while moulding his chakra before carefully forming the Snake seal followed by Togi's favourite seal the Tiger seal. There was a brief burst of chakra smoke and then instead of just one Togi there were three identical Hyuuga standing at the front of the class. 'Ok I must remember what Ryu-senpai and Yoshi-senpai taught me and convey my emotions to the clones...' Togi thought to himself as he performed the jutsu and sure enough when the clones appeared each had a small smile that perfectly matched the original.
 
"The clone jutsu has many uses the primary of these being combat related. The simplest functions include providing additional opponents for an opponent to target reducing the chance to be hit by a weapon or to serve as a distraction so that you are able to land your own attack against an opponent" Togi began. ”Clones however can also be used as bait to lure opponents in to traps or ambushes or can be used as a screen to conceal what is being performed behind them!” Togi added.
 
"The clone jutsu can also be used in conjunction with other jutsus such as the transformation jutsu..." Togi then added before all three Togi's raised their hands up placing them together once again. Togi then formed his next string of hand seals forming Dog, Boar and then Ram. Once the hand seals were complete there was another burst of chakra smoke and once it cleared Togi then stood there with two other ninja. The first was a blond haired boy of around Togi's age dressed in a shirt and cargo shorts, he was shorter than Togi and had darker skin and stood with a more relaxed slumping posture, the second ninja was a petite young girl with long brown hair worn tied back in a pony tail. She was again shorter than Togi and seemed to almost bounce up and down on the spot as she stood there. These forms belonged to two Genin that Togi had trained with and Togi decided to take their form as it was with these Genin that Togi had perfected these techniques.
 
"By combining the two techniques together better distractions can be made for example a single individual could serve as a distraction by taking their team mates form while the original are free to act performing such actions as retreating or performing ambushes" Togi continued.
 
The young Hyuuga then held a single hand up and cancelled the clone jutsu. In two puffs of smoke the male Genin and Togi vanished leaving only the female Genin revealing that Togi had in fact transformed himself and not just the clones. "The clone jutsu can also be used for infiltration by taking the form of an enemy, intimidation by taking the form of someone more physically imposing or well known and can also be used to for concealment for example it could be used to conceal an injury by taking the form of yourself but in an uninjured state..." Togi listed.
 
The transformed Togi then lifted his hands up and began forming hands seals once again. ’Must remember clothes, must remember clothes, must remember clothes….’ Togi silently recited determined not to make the same mistake that he had made during training. Focusing his chakra senses on the instructor Togi studied every inch of her chakra signature and then with a puff of smoke the female Genin disappeared to be replaced by a taller form with golden locks tied back in a bun and fortunately thanks to his conscious effort wearing clothes.
 

”I thankyou for your consideration!” Togi then finished as he took a deep bow in the examiner’s direction.

The proctor's posture relaxed slightly at the boy's enthusiasm. She took pride in knowing her students and this one was just rearing to be a ninja. Picking up a Sunagakure headband, she walked over to him, handing him the item with a stern but kind smile. "Well done, young man. You are now a genin of this village. Be sure to make the Sand proud of you." With that, she would dismiss the newly promoted genin.

Dispelling the transformation and returning to his original form in a burst of chakra smoke Togi bowed to the Examiner once again."Thankyou sensei, I shall do my best!" the newly promoted Genin declared with a smile before accepting the forehead protector and placing it in its rightful place... the boys forehead and fastening it in place.

'So it begins... the life of an active ninja starts today' Togi thought to himself with mixture of nervousness and anticipation as the he slowly and calmly made his way out of the classroom for the last time in perhaps a good long while.
