Will you spar with me? (Yoshi)

"Oh well you see I don't actually possess the Byakugan..." Togi replied sheepishly as he rubbed the back of his head with his hand. "The Byakugan is the all seeing eye of the Hyuuga clan, their famed dojutsu. The power of the Byakugan comes from the eyes themselves... and well my eyes are useless they always have been..." Togi admitted slightly fiddling with the hem of his robes as he did so. "What I do is somewhat different..." Togi began before pausing seemingly unsure if he should continue with what he was about to say. "I.. I was not content to live a life in total darkness so I... I taught myself to see without eyes..." Togi revealed though he did not explain any further about how he had taught himself such a skill. Togi had originally thought that his parent's would be proud of teaching himself such a skill and while his mother had seemed proud she had also seemed some what nervous or even scared. His father meanwhile well he had been furious!
 
"I 'saw' through your tricks as you put it as I do not see like you do... I do not see what things look like I see chakra and chakra reveals the truth of all things..." Togi declared slightly reverently. "I do so wonder sometimes what it is that other people see..." Togi then trailed slightly losing track of what he was saying.
 
"You are most welcome Yoshi-chan, I could teach you some basic first aid if you like it is a most important skill for a ninja to have." Togi declared earnestly offering the girl a slight smile.
 
"Thank you Yoshi-chan feel free to move it about a bit if you like..." Togi then declared as he walked up slowly towards the reanimated dummy. Togi then took a deep breath and assumed a gentle fist stance. 'It is a shame that the dummy does not possess tenketsu but imagining where they are located will have to do...' Togi thought to himself as he focussed in on the dummy with chakra senses. To his vision the dummy itself was a ghostly dark form while the threads connecting it to Yoshi were glowing brightly. As the amount of chakra Togi was channelling began to grow the young Hyuuga's eyes began to darken. "You are within my field of divination!" Togi whispered as he shifted his stance slightly. Chakra began to flow throughout Togi's body quickly circulating before rushing down his arms. Surging forwards Togi then lashed out with two lightning fast palm strikes that slammed in to the dummies chests as he called out "Two palms!" While the dummy was still shuddering from the first two strikes Togi then lashed out once again striking another four times in quick succession as the chakra emitted from his palms began to scorch and char the surface of the dummy while he once again called out this time calling "Four palms." Togi's arms were firing back and forth like a jack hammer now as he slammed another four strikes against the dummy. "Eight palms" Togi cried as small cracks began to appear in the surface of the dummy. Arms starting to look like blurs now Togi lashed out eight more times crying out "sixteen palms!" the sound of flesh slapping against wood was now accompanied by the loud sound of cracking wood. As Togi's relentless assault went on his eyes had continued to darken and they were now a deep black. "thirty two palms!"  Togi cried as he struck again and again and again, the dummy by now seemed to be having a fit as it vibrated on the spot under the rapid succession of blows and small pieces of wood flew off. "Sixty four palms!" Togi then finished panting slightly as he did so. Togi then took a final step towards the dummy closing the gap and finish his final barrage of blows finish with a powerful strike that threw the dummy back and let it fall to the ground in pieces.
 

'I did it!' Togi thought to himself in a mixture of surprise and pride though at the same moment his legs suddenly gave out and he slumped down to the ground landing on his behind and the hansho Byakugan abruptly deactivated leaving him in complete darkness. "woah..." Togi then breathed out breathlessly.

"I had thought about transforming myself into one of the training dummies in a hopes that you would walk right past me with your guard down.  But since my clones were no match for you, I decided not to," Yoshi admitted after hearing the boy's explanation of his bloodline.

Yoshi felt sad for Togi.  His perception of the world around him sounded very different from hers.  Yoshi depended very heavily on the use of her eyes.  She needed them to see the artwork she produced.  She needed them to see the different hues of color, she needed them to know how much shading to put on a piece.  Without her eyes she would not have been able to draw out the plans of her upcoming puppet creation.  Yoshi tried to imagine a world where one only saw chakra.  It had to be everywhere and everything had to have produce it in varying amounts.  

A world of blue... Yoshi thought as she looked around at her surroundings.

Then the kunoichi turned back to her friend, "I wish I could show you how I perceive the world.  There are so many beautiful things to see."

Yoshi nodded when Togi asked if she wished to learn some medical jutsu.

"That would be wonderful, Togi-kun.  You're kind of an aspiring specialist at it aren't you?  If we ever team up with each other on a mission and you were to get hurt.  It would be very important to heal you to insure the health of the rest of the group.  And of course I would want to heal you because you're my friend!  Anyway, whenever you're ready."

Yoshi signaled to Togi that he could practice his jutsu at any time.  And when the Hyuuga dashed forward, Yoshi did not attempt to make the dummy dodge his attack.  It was amazing to behold.  His palmed punches were very methodical.  

I am REALLY thankful he did not try that jutsu on me! Yoshi thought as the training dummy splintered into pieces with Togi's final strike.

"Nice job Togi-kun!" Yoshi said releasing her chakra threads from the broken pieces.

Yoshi realized he was quite out of breath by the end of it and dashed forward as the boy slumped to the ground.  Yoshi's hands immediately grabbed his arm.

"Are you okay?  Here, have some water.  I'm not gonna throw it at you this time.  Here."

Yoshi procured her water canteen from her person and placed it in the Hyuuga's hand.

Togi gave a slight smile upon hearing what one of Yoshi's plans had been "Well I would have been quite surprised to find that one of the training dummies had a chakra signature..." Togi declared "I might have tried that strategy my self but it is difficult for me to transform in to anything without a chakra signature as you um might remember..." Togi declared slightly awkwardly as he rubbed the back of his head.
 
Togi then gave a small sad smile. "I would very much like that too, there are many things that I just don't see..." Togi replied. "There are however many beautiful things that I can see with my vision that few ever get to see. Chakra is not a simple thing, it is not just a matter of being there or not, it is intricate and complicated, all chakra is unique and has a feel all of it's own. I do not just 'see' chakra but I feel it. You are not just a mass of blue to me, there is much much more to it..." Togi tried to explain.
 
"Yes I have been interested in medicine and medical jutsu since that I was very young..." Togi replied. 'Ever since I learned that my eyesight was taken from me due to a disease...' Togi silently added. Togi then nodded."I am glad to hear that given the skill with which you manipulated those chakra strings I am confident you have the chakra control necessary to master medical jutsu" Togi declared.
 

"Thankyou Yoshi-chan..." Togi breathed out somewhat breathlessly as he accepted the water canteen.'I remember this..." Togi added softly as he ran his hand over the surface of the canteen. The young Hyuuga then took a couple of slow sips as he sat upon the ground."That technique takes a fair amount of getting used to..." Togi admitted. "I was not sure I would even be able to perform it without the Byakugan..." Togi added. 'I wonder what the elders will think...' Togi thought to himself.

Yoshi sat beside her friend in the sand while they passed her water canteen back and forth.  Listening to the young Hyuuga as he briefly explained what his world was as he say it though his byakugan was very interesting and very difficult to imagine.  Learning that his eyes were taken from him due to a disease was very sad.

"What would happen if you were to get eye implants?" Yoshi asked her friend in a hopeful tone.  "Would you be able to see normally then?"

Yoshi took a long sip from her water canteen before passing it back to Togi.  She then leaned back with her elbows in the sand and stared up at the clouds.  To her they always looked like animals.

Oh, that one looks like a fox! thought the brown haired kunoichi.  I wanna tell Togi, but he probably cannot see it...

"If you've rested enough, I'd love to learn that medical jutsu you mentioned earlier," Yoshi informed her friend.

Togi gave a slight almost forced smile. "I am or more precisely was of the main branch of the Hyuuga clan, the clan elders would not allow the transplant of anything less than Byakugan capable eyes" Togi replied. "I therefore would have needed a donor from a clan member..." Togi explained. "Unfortunately the eyes of a Hyuuga are protected against transplantation so that we do not become a target for bloodline thieves..." Togi continued. "Not that I would have wanted for a clan member to die or lose their sight so that I could see anyway..." Togi added. "I later learnt that the virus that I had contracted not only affected my eyes but the optic nerve and somehow fundamentally altered the make up of certain areas of my brain. It is likely that an ocular transplant would result in rejection and any new eyes would end up as lifeless as my current ones..." Togi revealed. 

Togi then offered the girl another melancholy smile. "You know I've not really talked about this with anyone other than my mother..." Togi suddenly exclaimed.

"Oh ofcourse Yoshi-chan!" Togi exclaimed as he sat up straight. " Please watch closely and I shall demonstrate it for you..." Togi began as he raised his hands up. "The basic medical jutsu has only three hand seals making it relatively straight forward, they are boar, rat then snake." Togi instructed as he  slowly formed the hand seals so that Yoshi could watch. "As you begin to mould your chakra you will feel the nature of it begin to change, when this happens it is important not to fight it but merely gently direct the new chakra to your hands. Once in your hands you are then going to want to let the chakra flow out gently, do not force it or else the medical chakra will not work..." Togi explained. 

Once the explanation was over Togi then repeated the hand seals this time moulding and channeling his chakra letting it gather in his hands before he let it slowly seep out causing his hands to glow with a soft bluish green light as the chakra lingered around them.

"Would you like to try now?" Togi then asked softly.

"Don't worry," Yoshi assured to Togi, "I will not tell anyone.  Your secret is safe with me.  I appreciate you being able to tell me.  And who knows, with time perhaps someone will come up with medical ninjutsu that could fix your sight."

When Togi mentioned how to preform the basic medical jutsu, Yoshi listened to Togi's instructions with her full concentration.  Yoshi wanted to learn and had the feeling that such a jutsu would become very useful one day.

"Okay, so the hand seals were boar, rat, and snake?" Yoshi asked just to make sure.

The young kunoichi placed her hands together to preform the seals and and began to mold her chakra. 

"I don't understand, I don't feel any diff-" 

Yoshi's voice trailed off as the nature of her chakra began to change just like the young Hyuuga had informed.  The feeling was strange indeed.  Yoshi felt as if her very being was several times smaller than her physical appearance.  It felt as if she were in a tunnel or cave.  It felt as if there was negative space within her.  The chakra that was emitted from her fingertips ceased immediately.  Yoshi looked back at Togi with an awkward expression on her face.

I'm not suppose to fight it?  But it feels so weird... Yoshi thought as her mind flooded with all sorts of 'what if' scenarios.

"It doesn't anything like I imagined it would.  I thought It would be soothing, or cool to the touch.  But it just feels different from my regular chakra.  Are you sure I'm doing it right?  It still feels like I could still hurt someone!" Yoshi protested.

Should Togi insure her and/or give her advice, Yoshi would try a second time placing her hands together to preform the required hand seals - Boar, Rat, and Snake.  She would mold her chakra again as chakra would form on her hands and change from blue to green.

"Am I doing it right?" Yoshi asked as she held up her glowing green hands.

"Thank you Yoshi-chan it feels good to have someone that I can talk to..." Togi replied with a small sincere smile. "Since coming to Suna I have spent so much time studying and training to become a ninja that I have not had much time for friends..." Togi revealed with a slight hint of regret. Togi then gave a small wry smile. "Well I am working on it but it will be many years before I have that kind of knowledge and experience..." Togi declared.

"That is correct Boar then Rat then Snake" Togi replied lightly nodding his head as he did so.

The young Hyuuga then sat up as he focussed all his attention on the girl in front of him. Togi could sense every drop of chakra inside the girl and as she moulded and channelled her chakra Togi calmly observed. So far Yumi had followed his instructions perfectly and Togi could sense the nature of her chakra shift as it slowly converted itself to medical chakra. 

"You were doing just fine Yoshi-chan, all you need to do now is maintain a constant flow..." Togi replied before considering what else the girl had said. "You are not yet used to the feel of medical chakra it is no great surprise that it would feel strange and alien to you!" Togi reasoned. "Once you are more familiar with your chakra in this state it will feel more natural and perhaps even comforting" Togi added.

"Go ahead and try again, I am carefully monitoring your chakra and I will let you know if there is even the slightest fluctuation in your chakra that then could cause harm." Togi reassured. The Hyuuga medic then sat back and allowed the girl to try again.

"Very well done you are obviously a natural!" Togi declared with a proud smile. "Now we need to test if you can actually heal a wound..." Togi declared as he reached for his weapons pouch and quickly pulled out a single Kunai. Before the girl could object Togi then quickly ran the blade across the palm of his left hand opening up a shallow cut and causing Togi to wince slightly and hiss in pain.

"Go ahead I trust you..." Togi then declared as he held his bloody palm out.

Yoshi blinked twice before she realized what the young Hyuuga was up to.  Then, her brown eyes widened and became as large as saucers.  Her mouth opened and she raised a finger and pointed nervously to Togi's bloody arm.

"B-b-b-b-b-blood!?  W-w-w-w-why d-did you do that all of a s-s-s-sudden!?" Yoshi asked in horror.  

Yoshi's tan skin slowly became devoid of any hue and became ghostly white.  Her lips curled into a stupid smile as her eyes rolled back into her head as the girl feinted.  Yoshi had never really seen blood before.  Apparently blood was not something the young genin could stomach.  This was something that was going to be very problematic if not attended to right away.  Her life as a ninja demanded she faced her fears.

When Yoshi awoke, she sat up right away.  If Togi was still sitting next to her, Yoshi would ask, "I-I'm sorry, Togi-kun.  I guess I can't stand the sight of blood.  Heh, that's a stupid thing isn't it?"

Yoshi gulped as if to try to keep frogs from jumping out of her stomach, "I'd like to try again without ... err, feinting this time..."

If Togi would agree, Yoshi would place her hands together and preform the necessary hand seals required to preform the basic medical jutsu.  After a couple hesitant moments of staring at Togi's oozing blood, Yoshi would place her glowing green hands over the Hyuuga's arm.  

After his arm was healed, Yoshi would begin to gather her things and try to place the remaining training dummies back on their bases.

"Gosh, its sure late.  I bet Mom's already got dinner served.  We've had a busy day.  Thanks again for teaching me that jutsu." Yoshi waved at Togi as she was about to leave.

"Hey, Togi-kun.  Why don't you join me for dinner?  Mom always fixes more than Daddy and I can eat."

If Togi would join her, then she would lead him back to the Yoshinaga complex and to Yoshi's parent's dome house - the place where Togi had initially found her, and would invite him inside.  If not, she would say her goodbyes and scamper off by herself.

Togi had expected some kind of reaction out of Yoshi when he went to cut himself he had most likely expected her object and tell him not to hurt himself which was why he had done it quickly, the actual reaction he got however was a lot more severe. Togi felt like he was observing in slow motion as the girls chakra suddenly seemed to recoil and retract in on its self as she began to stutter and slur her words.

If Togi hadn't been sitting and had one bloody palm he would have likely tried to catch the girl as she fainted, fortunately the pair were sitting on sand so she had a soft enough landing when she slumped down. 'Oh dear a ninja who can't stand the sight of blood... that would put Yoshi-chan at a serious disadvantage in the field' Togi worried to himself.

'Physically she's fine so there no need to use a medical jutsu I guess wait for her to come to...' Togi thought to himself as he observed Yoshi's prone form watching as her chakra returned to normal. 'I'll have to look in to if there's a smelling salt jutsu I can learn, I can't believe I don't know anything that can bring a person round...' Togi thought to himself.

"Is the sight of blood really that bad though?" Togi then questioned once Yoshi had come to and sat back up. "I had thought it just looks like a red liquid that does not sound too bad to me..." the young medical ninja exclaimed.

"Please go ahead" Togi then said softly as he held his bloody palm out towards the girl for a second time hoping there would not be a similar reaction. Togi was then very relieved when the girl did not faint and he sensed medical chakra being released from the palm's of her hands. The cut had only been a relatively small and neat one so the wound healed over quickly. After pouting out some water a from a canteen and washing the excess blood away it was as if the cut had never been there.

"Oh I believe these are yours..." Togi exclaimed as Yoshi began to collect her belongings together. The young Hyuuga then pulled out a couple of shuriken that he had pocketed at the beginning if their spar. Togi then helped Yoshi to replace whatever dummies they could to where they belonged.

"You are most welcome and thank you for helping me master my technique aswell" Togi replied giving the girl a semi bow.

"I would be honoured to!" Togi then declared with a surprised smile. Togi would then calmly walk beside Yoshi as she led him back to her house.
