Find the Herb! Team Yu, Ry and Togi Moves Out.

A terrible illness had befallen the Sand village about a week ago and no amount of doctors and medical ninja seemed to be able to cure the sickness. Over time it was discovered that a specific herb had an effect on the specific type of infectious bacteria and to this end a team has been dispatched to find the herb. The team consists of Togirama Hyuuga, Yoshinaga Yumi and Ryu Reinhard, the location of the herb lies within the cave networks surrounding Suna, this is an A-Rank mission and is time sensitive. The longer it takes to find the herb the more people that become sick.

Accepting the mission report from the chuunin, Ryu just read his name before passing it onto Togi or Yumi, with the amount of time he awkwardly stared at the paper and flipped between the pages. "Is there a map of where to find it?" The genin asked looking at the chuunin. The ninja slapped his hand to his forehead. "Its in the packet didn't you read it Ryu?" The man asked looking at his former student of course he knew the genin's answer was no, so he hadn't really expected an answer. 

Looking to his two allies there was one questioned that needed answered who will lead the mission? Normally, the one with the most experience would lead. However, they were all genin so they all had an equal amount of wisdom when it came to missions. So how would they decide by intelligence? If so Ryu was out he couldn't spell Sunagakure and he has lived there his entire life. Trial by combat? He would certainly have a better chance if it was that fist always spoke louder than words when it came to Ryu. 

"Togi you know a lot about medicine, we will need you to identify the herb. Yoshi we need your puppetry to help protect our medic." Ryu said winking towards Togi. "And I should take point with Yoshi to help defend Togi." He looked at his teammates while explaining the plan. "Unless that plan is bad, in which case we can do something else."


We have to get through this mission quickly, so we don't have much time to argue. So if one of them decides to lead I'll support them. Ryu tightened his headband on his shoulder he had only taken D-Rank missions so far only a few of which had any danger involved. This one though required a trek through the desert, which contained giant sand-scorpions and venomous lizards. There were also sand storms and quicksand pits, which was probably one of the reasons a team was needed, to look out for one another.

"I am sorry I am late Senpai..." Togi declared breathlessly as he rushed in to the large stone building that served as the ninja HQ and lined up next to Ryu and Yoshi. "I had a shift at the hospital and it's the busiest I have ever seen it... people are coming in with fevers and then they just collapse and no matter what we do they are just not waking up...." Togi explained obviously slightly flustered by the while situation. "Still it is no excuse for my tardiness and you have my humble apologies..." Togi declared bowing deeply to the Chuunin as he began to regain his composure.

Standing in line Togi quickly brushed down his robes to make sure that they were presentable before he stood tall and to attention with his shoulders squared back as though he was about to be inspected. 'I'm very glad I finally get to go on a mission with Yoshi-chan and Ryu-senpai but why were we all summoned here so suddenly and why was I pulled away from the hospital when I am obviously needed there...' Togi thought to himself with some concern. 

When Ryu handed him the mission report after barely looking at it the young Hyuuga cocked his head to the side while raising an eyebrow in the boy's direction before immediately passing the packet on to Yumi. 'Ryu-senpai did you already forget that I am blind?' Togi thought to himself with a mental sigh. "Yoshi-chan would you mind reading me the pertinent information so that I may memorise it" Togi asked politely as he offered the girl a small smile. "In particular could you please explain about this herb that Ryu-senpai just mentioned..." Togi questioned seeing that Ryu had been the only one to even get the slightest glimpse of what the objective of the mission was.

"Your plan is not bad and while I appreciate your desire to protect me senpai my sensory abilities have by far the greatest range out of the three of us, I also specialise in close range combat where as Yoshi-chan and your own styles favour mid to long range combat. If you are ok with it I believe I should be the one to take point while Yoshi-chan and yourself follow in a triangular or vanguard formation and offer support from behind..." Togi countered politely. "Also how long can you maintain a summon for it might be useful to have an additional set of eyes in the sky..." Togi suggested.

With his suggestions made Togi then fell quiet hoping for some more details.

”Its been a while, Ryu-kun,” Yoshi said as she greeted her teammate. ”How's that fiery bird of yours? I too have a bird of my own!”

Yoshi had her giant scroll unwrapped on the floor and had her puppet laying on the ground. It was also opened up, and if one stood over it, they could see its complicated internal mechanisms. To the untrained eye they would look like a rats-nest of chaotic odds and ends, but for Yoshi it all made perfect sense why everything was placed where it was. The young kunoichi had just ran to he Ninja Shop to buy a couple senbon for her puppet. She only had enough money to buy four even though Hawks had room to store twenty. They cost ryo – ryo that she did not particularly have to spend at the moment. She was glad that the higher ups were making use of her as puppets were quite expensive to upkeep as she soon found out. Yoshi also placed two smoke bombs inside their designated compartments. By the time Togi arrived, Yoshi was just closing up her puppet.

”Hello, Togi-kun. I didn't realize the three of us would be taking on this mission! This quite fitting,” Yoshi said with a smile.


Yoshi was glad to be on this mission. It was personal. Several Yoshinaga clan members had taken ill due to the wide-spread illness. And it was only a matter of time before her parents succumbed to it as well, or so the young genin thought. That was the last thing she wanted, and if there was anything Yoshi could do to stop that from happening, she was going to do it. Yoshi was glad to be apart of the herbal recovery team. Yoshi stood up and willed her puppet back into the giant scroll. It disappeared in a small puff of smoke. She then rolled up the scroll and stood it on one end. When Togi asked about the mission details, Yoshi reached out her hand for the papers.

”It says that we're to retrieve a plant that supposedly has the healing properties capable of healing this sickness that has befallen Sunagakure. It is rumored to grow in the caves that are spread all around the village. We are to trek through the desert and find one of these caves that has the herb. Dangers we could face are sandstorms, giant-scorpions, and venomous lizards...” Yoshi trailed off as she read on, ”I'm not sure what this herb is. I cannot pronounce it. Its one I've never heard before. But if an herb is growing in a cave, its probably either some sort of fungus or perhaps an exposed root as most plants need sunlight for photosynthesis to occur. But caves can be very dark. Ryu-kun, have you heard of this plant before?”

Yoshi then gave the papers back to Ryu.


”Togi-kun would know my fighting style best. I do tend to favor the mid range,” Yoshi stated as she leaned over her scroll as if it were a podium.

It was another hot and sunny day in Suna. It felt good to be back home. It was a good experience to travel to an allied village. Maybe he'll visit Konoha again soon. As Kyson was walking through Suna, he noticed not much people were outside today. Hmmm, this was odd. Usually a day like this is busy. Kyson was a bit curious but at the same time, this isn't the first time this has happened. It could either mean an important event is taking place or there is danger. Hopefully nothing bad happened while Kyson and Royalty were away. This is exactly what Kyson feared while he was in Konoha. As Kyson continued to walk. A Jounin appeared in front of him at a great speed, he looked as if he was in a hurry. Something had to be wrong.

"Is something wrong?" Kyson said to the jounin with a straight face. Kyson has a strong gut feeling that something is going wrong in the village. But what could it be?

"Kyson, there has been another outbreak. There's another serious illness going around the village. We just received word that the hospital ran out of those blue herbs a few days ago. We need you to go to the same area and get some more since you and Royalty were the ones that found them before." The jounin said to Kyson in a serious manner. Back home and already have a job. Kyson has to go tell Royalty about this so they can get the herbs together again.

"Got it, did you tell Roy or do I-" Kyson said before he was cut off by the jounin.

"No time, he's most likely at the hospital helping with the treatment. But they're sending a promising genin squad to get the job done. But they're still young. Since your at a high enough rank to become a squad leader. Plus, you've done something like this before. We thought it be a good idea if you'd lead them and make sure nothing happens to them." The jounin said to Kyson. He never lead a squad before, so this will be interesting to see how this one will turn out. The only thing Kyson needed to know now, was where these genin were at.


"Where are they now?" Kyson said with a face of curiosity.


"They're by the Wind county borders. Get going and meet them there. Good luck." The jounin said as he ran off in a hurry. Kyson nodded right after he said good luck. Kyson ran towards the village gates immediately. As he ran out the village, none of the guards would bother to stop him. They most likely knew of the situation already. As soon as Kyson exited the village, he sensed two strong chakra signatures immediately. Kyson assumed that was the genin team's position. Kyson would make the ram hand seal and body flicker to their position at a speed of 200. Kyson got to their position in no time. As soon as Kyson arrived, the chunin who reported them their mission spoke. Kyson was standing to the right of the chunin with one hand in his trench coat pocket.

"Oh and I forgot one other thing. Kyson Sensei will be your squad leader for this mission. He'll make sure none of you get yourselves hurt. He's also been sent on a mission to find the same herb in the past. So he knows exactly what it looks like and where you can possibly find it. Well that's all there is to it, Kyson your orders." The chunin said to the genin team as he was addressing Kyson. It felt weird being called Sensei. Kyson still felt a bit young to hold a title like that by his name. Kyson looked towards the genin team and observed them. There was girl in the group and two boys. The one with blonde hair has a very strong chakra level. Its just as much as Kysons. He was the shortest of the group. The second boy had gray eye's and was the tallest out of the bunch. His chakra level was really strong as well, but not as strong as the blonde kid. Kyson looked over towards the girl and noticed she had a puppet. This is the second puppet user Kyson met.The first puppet user he met was a girl as well. This seems like an interesting squad.

"Ehhh, calling me sensei makes me feel old. You can just call me Kyson. I would like to know all your names and abilities, but we're in a hurry. So we'll talk on the way. We have to get moving now or more people will be sick. Follow me." Kyson said as he  ran off at a speed of 50. If they were to follow Kyson, he would ask them some questions so he can get an idea of what they can do.

"Alright, I'll need to know your name, your specialty, and what style of fighting you use or anything that can help with this mission." Kyson said to the genin squad if they were following him. This information was important because it could help form a plan and a strategy to find the herbs quicker. Even though Kyson has an idea about where they are. Kyson would wait to hear their responses and give them a chance to speak. After they speak he would ask one more question.

"Do you guy's already have a plan? If not, we need to make one right now." Kyson said as he waited for another response from the team.

“No problem.” Ryu said as his ally came panting in, the hospitals were probably receiving the brunt of everything anyway, with all of the sickness going around. “I am actually glad they let you go, I figured they would need every medic in the village in case it got worse.” Apparently Togi felt like apologizing anyway, but if he felt that strongly about being sorry, who was Ryu to stop him. I mean they are both genin and if he was feeling some type of way, he wouldn’t want someone to just brush it off, as if it didn’t matter.

Yoshi was the next person who stepped through the door and she greeted him with a smile. “Oh, you mean Hero? I just took him out to eat the other day.” The boy responded smiling to his fellow sand shinobi. He began to inspect the bird as she pulled it out. “What is it made out of? Can it fly? Can I play with it?” The ninja’s brain went on overdrive while thinking of things to ask about the contraption without really thinking about the fact the puppet was probably more of a weapon than a toy. Oh, what is that sharp thing? It looks shiny, I like shiny. The genin didn’t make any attempts to touch the toy, but it was obvious he wanted to.

When Togi began to review his plan most of what he had said was true, about him being a mid-long range combatant. However, the rasengan was not made for long range, but with shortness on time the boy wasn’t going to argue that point especially because the genin was most likely unaware of Ryu even having access to it. “Alright, I am fine with going with you plan. A triangular formation works best, I think.” When the question of summons was brought up the answer was pretty easy, If he wanted he could probably maintain a summon all day and even if it timed out, he could always summon it again or use a different one. “I can summon phoenix for a very long time, if you need me to.” An eye in the sky is useful when it comes to unknown dangers, Philo helped me find those bandits and that other guy before. Fawkes is also really strong and could probably be of use in a fight, Togi knows about him though and Yoshi has probably only seen Herodatus.


When Yoshi handed the ninja back the paper and asked him of the plant he could barely sound the word out, let alone say the full thing without looking dumb. “It’s umm… notsick root and it looks like that.” The genin said pointing to the picture of it, Ryu was not one for plants the only things he ever read were on a scroll with plenty of pictures on it. “Apparently when this illness was around before there was a team that had found it in the caves where we are headed. If only those guys could show us, we would have a better chance at finding it.”


In ten seconds Ryu’s question of who would lead became null and void, there was a chuunin heading out with them. It was for the best though maybe this guy knows the area a lot better and probably has some pretty cool jutsu. Also, with the chuunin no one had to fight for the position of leader there was alredy one within their midst and he already apparently has found the herb before. Sweet.


Kyson-sensei, no he just wants to be called Kyson. The genin began to sense the chakra of those around him focusing on their leader. His chakra was as bright as his own and felt like Togi’s maybe he was a water user. When the team began to move at speed 50, Ryu was able to keep up with little effort this was essentially a jog, he knew Togi could keep up, but he was slightly worried about Yumi. He looked back to the girl just in case though. He looked back to their leader when he began to ask for their names and various other things. “I am Ryu Reinhard, my specialty is ninjutsu and I have three elemental affinities. Fire, wind, and scorch. Lastly I can summon phoenix’s” He didn’t move on from there with his abilities though he didn’t want to brag, but help his leader understand his uses. If he would ask about the birds or his scorch the ninja would tell him anything the man needed to know.


“Our plan was to summon Philostratus one of the phoenix I am contracted with to act as an air… our-real (said as aerial) scout. Then use a triangular formation to follow behind Togi as a point.” There was some struggle with the word as he attempted to sound out aerial. “Is that what you want me to do, Kyson?”

"Ryu-senpai" Togi greeted with a nod and a smile. "I was surprised aswell however I am sure that the higher ups know what they are doing..." Togi replied. 'Besides I am only a medic in training so I am sure they have much more skilled people to replace me...' Togi thought to himself.

"Hello Yoshi-chan I did not know that we would be working together either but I am very glad that I am working with people that I know and trust..." Togi replied with a gentle smile. 'I would have preferred a less vital mission for our first mission out of the village, it sounds as though there are many lives on the line and we can not afford to make a mistake...' Togi thought apprehensively to his self as he carefully listened to what Yumi was saying as she read out the mission details. 'Yoshi-chan is right not many plants usually grow underground except fungi...' Togi silently agreed as he did his best to commit every detail of the mission briefing to memory.

"Hmmm notsick root I have never heard of that..." Togi replied trying his best to ignore the fact that Ryu was currently trying to show him a picture despite the fact that he knew full well that he was blind and therefore wouldn't be able to see it...  "Are you... Are you quite sure that's what it is called?" Togi then asked hesitantly as he ran through all the names medicinal plants that he knew that could both grow inside a cave and be mispronounced as notsick. Togi didn't want to insult his friends intelligence but he had begun to realise that Ryu sometimes seemed to struggle with the more complicated words.

The next announcement brought a small smile to the young Genin's lips. They were getting a Sensei  they were finally getting a Sensei! It might just be a temporary thing but Togi finally had a team and a Sensei and they were all going on a mission. Things were now finally starting to go more like he had expected them to when he had graduated the academy!

Togi immediately turned his senses on to the young man that would be their Sensei and began to study his chakra to see what he could discover about him. Togi was immediately greeted by an intensely strong chakra signature, this Kyson obviously had very potent chakra and large amounts of it too, his chakra was quite confusing at first but after a few moments of studying it Togi began to pick apart pieces that he recognised. 'Hmmm his chakra affinity is complicated I can definitely detect a very strong water affinity and I believe a wind affinity aswell but that's not all... there's something else there that I can not quite put my finger on... Kyson-Sensei must have three elemental affinities just like Ryu-senpai!' Togi concluded.

Before Togi had any more time to study the young man's chakra signature he was already ordering them to move. "Yes Sensei!" Togi responded automatically as he much like Ryu had ran after the Chuunin and quickly caught him up. The trio of Genin had originally decided amongst themselves that he would take point but now that they had a leader he ran alongside Kyson. until he was given specific instructions. As he ran Togi was finding it surprisingly easy to keep pace with the older ninja, he could tell that he was not going at his top speed but still this was another small sign to the young Hyuuga about the improvement that he had made recently. As he ran Togi quickly passed his senses over his team mates Ryu's chakra was as bright and bold as always nothing strange there but as he passes his mental gaze over Yoshi he felt something slightly off. The girls body seemed to be consuming chakra a lot quicker than either his own or Ryu's seemed to be... 'Is Yoshi-chan pushing herself too hard inorder to keep up with this pace?' Togi wondered 'Her body certainly seems to be under a lot of stress...' Togi thought to himself. "Sorry Sensei I am not sure how long I can keep up this pace..." Togi lied badly showing no obvious signs of tiring. 

Once Kyson had responded to his statement Togi then made his introduction. 

"My name is Togirama Hyuuga and I am a medical nin in training, in combat I favour close quaters fighting primarily using the chakra enhanced blows of the gentle fist taijutsu style or medical jutsu" Togi began. "My primary elemental affinity is for water though I do not yet know many elemental jutsus..." the boy continued. "I should also make you aware that my eyes are non functional and I instead rely on sensing chakra. I would estimate the limits of my sensory abilities are currently about a mile..." Togi finished falling silent as to allow Yumi to introduce herself and list her skills and abilities.

Once the girl was finished Togi then spoke up and asked a question or two of his own. "Kyson-Sensei if you don't mind me asking are you a Jounin?" Togi then questioned. "Could you also tell us your own skills and abilities so that we may know what to expect from you?" Togi questioned. "I couldn't help but notice that you have three elemental affinities water, wind and ummm something else... are you perhaps an elemental ninjutsu specialist? Togi probed.

Bakka, bakka!  You can't use it unless you know how to produce chakra threads! Yumi thought as she noticed Ryu's eyes light up with curiosity.

While she made it using the same methods as some of her three-dimensional artworks which could be used as toys, Hawks was certainly not one.  It was a deadly ninja tool meant for killing, regardless if the young kunoichi fully realized what she had constructed.

Yoshi took in a deep breath and closed her eyes, "Its body is made out of cebil which is a very strong hardwood not found locally.  It had to be imported form elsewhere.  The talons, beak, and wing blades are made of carbon steal forged by other clan members.  They're very sharp.  The wing-fins are made out of synthetic hairs.  The inside frame is also made out of metal, and there are all sorts of metal bits, pulleys, and wire within the chest cavity." Yoshi paused to take another breath, "And, yes, it can fly.  I'd show you if it weren't about to undertake this mission and if Suna was free from the illness."

Yumi bowed respectfully when Kyson appeared in front of them.  It was about time she was apart of a team and with luck, she was put on a team who she already knew the other members - and both Togi and Ryu were people who Yumi figured she could get along with.  Yumi studied Kyson for a moment and was surprised by how young their new teacher looked.  He had short black hair and wore a coal colored hoodie.  

"Its a pleasure to meet you Kyson-sens ... Kyson-san.  My name-" Yoshi started to say but the chunin took off in a flash.

Hey, wait up! Yoshi thought as her eyes widened.

Kyson was fast, very fast.  Yumi quickly realized she was lagging behind.  And even when she reached her full speed, she knew it would not be enough.  Yumi watched out of the corner of her eyes as both Ryu, and Togi quickly passed her.  It was like she was running in slow motion - even when she ran at her top speed (Speed 49).  Even with all of her hard training she had been doing recently.  It wasn't enough.  

Dooshite?  Why am I so weak?  Why am I always falling behind? Yoshi wondered as sweat began to bead on her face.

And then something happened that Yoshi did not expect.  In front of her, the young kunoichi could hear her teammate, Togi, inform their new teacher that he could not keep up.  It was a lie.  While she was indeed naive, Yoshi knew of Togi's speed.  He was very fast.  He had demonstrated this during their sparring match.

Why is he lying?  Is he ... is he trying to cover for ... me?

"Dooshite?" Yoshi asked in a voice almost too silent to hear.  "I c- ... I can keep up.  I can ... I have to try..."

Yumi's heart was pounding out of her chest and her scrawny legs felt as if they were on fire.  Her giant ponytail bobbed fiercely as it bounced around her body.  With every step her vision blurred a little bit more.  Soon the horizon disappeared in a cloudy haze and all that the young genin saw was three shadowy silhouettes that were her teammates.  Then, for some reason, her legs stopped working, but her body kept going.  One of her feet had stepped on an uneven patch of sand and got stuck.  Her face landed in a pile of hot sand.  Her giant scroll fell next to her.  Its bandage straps were in a tangled mess.      

It would take some time before Yoshi would get up.  And if her teammates would stop, Yoshi would open her eyes to see them standing around her.  Yoshi would be disoriented for a moment as she re-gained consciousness.  

"What happened?" Yoshi would mumble as she sat up. "I ... I'm okay.  Let's keep going."

Yoshi's face was covered in sand and she would be extremely embarrassed for tripping in front of her new teacher.  On their first visit she was already under preforming.  If they were to get in a fight, would she be able to defend herself?  She was slowing the others down.  She was the reason that the villagers of Suna were suffering.  It would be her fault if others should die.  These thoughts and more raced in the young genin's mind.  It was too much to bear and while she did not wale or make a sound, the others could notice that a steady stream of tears were running down her face.  She just could not hold back the tears anymore.

After she would calm down and dust the sand off of herself, she would say, "My ... my name is Yoshinaga, Yumi.  I am an aspiring puppeteer.  This scroll ... has ... er, contains my puppet, Hawks.  He is a red-tailed attack hawk.  He can ... he can fly, launch bomb-like weapons, as well as senbon-shaped weapons, and can get up close and attack with his bladed wings.  I can use him to channel my wind jutsu as well ... though I only know two wind jutsu at the moment.  When not training with hawks, I been practicing on ranged weapon attacks."

After Kyson asked his questions, the blonde kid began to respond first. He said he specialized in ninjutsu. His elements were fire, wind, and.... scorch? Kyson never heard of this scorch element. He assumes you have to combine fire and wind to make it. But he has no clue what it would even look like and what it could do. But there was no time to think about it, he'll most likely ask him about it some other time. He also said he could summon a phoenix, that's pretty cool. But there's no need to use summons since Kyson knows the area where the herbs are. 

This next kid with the clear gray eye's began to speak next. He said he is a medical ninja in training and fights in close quarters. Basically a medical and taijutsu style ninja. Kyson smirked when he said that. He knows someone with that fighting style all too well. He reminds him of his best friend Royalty. Maybe after this is done, Royalty would agree to show him a thing or two. Next, his primary element is water and that is his only element. But he also mentioned he was blind. Kyson was a bit shocked when he said that. A blind ninja is still able to become a shinobi? Kyson thought to himself. This kid must be special to be blind and sent on a mission like this. 

"Alright, nice to meet you two. Ryu and Togirama." Kyson said to the two genin. Now next was the girl. As Kyson looked back, he noticed the girl was not with them. Where could she have gone? Kyson looked further behind them as he was still moving forward. Kyson looked back and saw her on the ground. Could she have dehydrated and passed out?

"Hold on." Kyson said as he ran back to go get her. But instead of stopping and running back at 50 speed. He made a U turn so he could keep his momentum and ran back towards her at a speed of 100. As Kyson stopped in front of her. He could help her up and help brush the sand off her. Kyson felt like this was his fault. He should've known that not everyone can keep up with him. And just because the other two could, it wasn't right for him to assume that she could.

"It's alright, there is no need to feel embarrassed. Out of all the genin teams in the village, you three were the ones chosen to go on this mission. That's already a huge accomplishment. So don't feel bad for any reason." Kyson said as he tried to cheer her up. He listened to her as she introduced herself and tell Kyson her abilities. So she knows the wind element. And she is good at using puppets and weapons. Kyson likes how diverse this team is. 

"Nice to meet you Yoshinaga. Sorry that I assumed that you could keep up. But since we're in a hurry, climb on my back and we'll be on our way. Today I am your squad leader and I will never leave any of you behind." Kyson said as he turned his back to her. He crouched to the ground a bit so she could climb on Kyson's back and they would continue their mission. If she were to agree, her arms should wrap around Kyson and he would hold her legs so she wouldn't be touching the ground. Kyson will then proceed to be running at a speed of 50. As he began to run, he would signal them to follow. If the other two were to follow, Kyson would then tell them a little about himself.

"My elements are water, earth, and wind. I specialize in ninjutsu and fuinjutsu. My style of fighting... well its more of a mid range type style. But I can be useful on either close, mid, or long range." Kyson said as he told the other three genin. If they had any other questions, Kyson would be prepared to answer. But if not, they will proceed to the caves.

“Yup, that is exactly what it is called.” The boy said attempting not to laugh, he couldn’t believe he hadn’t figured out not sick root. No, Togi please say you know that I am joking. The ninja wanted to roll around in his excitement, but knew it would look very bad on him. The genin held onto the papers even though he probably wasn’t going to read through them, but he wanted to have them in case the team needed to reference the image. If at any point what the plant looked like came into question he could withdraw the papers from his bag and show the group the picture. Likely though the picture would not be needed, because someone who had found the plant before was now with them.
 
It would seem Yumi had taken offense to Ryu’s question as she began to insult him by calling him stupid. I could make chakra threads if I wanted to. Though the ninja as his finger began to glow bright red before lighting on fire. “No that isn’t it.” He continued to snap his fingers together sending sparks flying everywhere before giving up. The sparks were very low in temperature and would have cooled before impacting anyone or anything. I give up, I can’t make chakra strings. After that Yoshinaga started slinging some very long and complicated words at him like cebil, imported, and synthetic. While Yoshi said she would show him had they not had a mission, Ryu wasn’t quite sure he would understand. Just nod and maybe they’ll think you understood. The boy nodded although it was obvious he hadn’t grasped the meaning, because only seconds ago it seemed as if he were concentrating on finding the meaning of all of the words.
 
As Yoshi was about to say her name is about the time that everyone had taken off and she seemed to be lagging behind. Not by much though she seemed to be within sight every time the genin had looked back. When she started to lag too far behind though it was Togirama who had said something about not being able to keep pace. Togi can run way faster than this, maybe he is dehydrated. I always carry extra water just for this reason. The genin withdrew a bottle of water from his bag and continued to move he then threw it to his ally. “Here you go, don’t forget this is a desert and you need to drink plenty of water.”
 
When all of a sudden Yoshinaga collapsed the genin and the team ran back to check on her. Was she over exerting herself? Maybe they were running a little too quickly for her to keep up. The genin sort of felt bad for not picking up on Yumi’s faltering stamina sooner. Had he done so, the girl may not have collapsed. It would seem he was not the only one who hadn’t noticed though as Kyson wanted to take the girl into his arms and carry her. “If you get tired you can switch with me Kyson.” The short blonde said to his leader, it was only fair to split the additional weight lest they run into the same situation again. The desert heat didn’t seem to effect Ryu as much as it did others anymore though, ever since he had learned the scorch element. It made a little bit of sense though since the power of scorch was instantaneous evaporation, living with that element present within himself he became resistant to the effects of heat exhaustion.
 

Water, wind, and earth? It would seem as Kyson possessed the same amount of elements as Ryu himself and he also was a practitioner of ninjutsu. He also had a knack for fuinjutsu which was something that the genin had wanted to learn about in the near future. “Kyson sensei can you teach me how to seal things? Or how to use wind techniques?” The young boy asked jumping into the air while still maintaining his speed as if he had already received a yes response. “Right now I only know a couple of wind jutsu, like gale palm and air bullets, but I wanted to learn blade of wind.”

Yumi stood up and fell silent when her new teacher spoke to apologized.  It seemed as if Kyson meant well and that he was legitimately being sincere but that did not change how the young genin felt.  On the inside, she still felt embarrassed and when Kyson bent down for Yumi to climb on, a large rock felt as if it had lodged itself deep in Yumi's throat.  Yumi's head hung low.

I'm too slow ... too slow that I have to be ... carried?  I ... I'm to be carried like I ... carry ... my ... puppet? Yumi wondered as her eyes fell on her feet with a look of defeat. But its not like I have choice.  I ... I have no way of making myself faster.  You can't ... you can't just get faster over night, and ...  you can't get faster after one second passes by.  Suna needs those herbs...

Yumi nodded silently as she whipped the tears out of her eyes.  She then bent over and picked up her giant scroll which carried her puppet and slung it back over her shoulders before climbing onto her teacher's back.  With her arms and legs she wrapped around him like a baby koala.  After a small amount of traveling Yumi managed to say one crackly word.

"Gomen'nasai."
