Yet Another Lesson...
Tue May 17, 2016 4:37 pm
Kosurama arrived to his twelve o'clock class. He peered across the room at the bold text written on the blackboard... "Genjutsu Release?" he said to himself. He made his way to his desk, which was situated in the second-to-last seat in the far right row. He set his bag down and focused forward, attempting to block out the mindless chatter his fellow classmates were making. He thought to himself what all he knew about genjutsu... He didn't know much, after all he was far more interested in the idea of fuinjutsu and ninjutsu. Kosurama preferred to be innovative with his techniques, constantly thinking of ways to outwit his opponents.
Minutes had passed as students began to pile in. The instructor stood up from his seat, slamming his hands onto his desk. "Is this everyone?" the class was silent... "Good" the teacher said as he turned to the board. “Genjutsu Release— This will be the focus of today’s lesson. Although it is a very simple technique, it requires immense concentration in both the mind and chakra flow.” Kosurama raised his hand, eager to learn the jutsu already. “So, how would you go about performing this technique?” The teacher glared at Kosurama, knowing very well Kosurama would be taking his genin exam once this class was over. “I understand you’re anxious to move on from the academy, but take into account your fellow classmates—“ Kosurama sat up in his desk. “Why not perform a firsthand demonstration of this technique? I’m sure it’ll be much more effective than us just reading out of a text book.” The instructor began to grow irritated by Kosurama’s remark. “Fine, you want a demonstration? Please step to the front of the class.” This is what Kosurama wanted all along. He got up from his chair and walked to the front of the class, awaiting further instructions. “Like I said, this technique requires immense concentration… Soon I will be putting you under a basic genjutsu. Simply form the tiger hand seal and disrupt your chakra flow— now, are your ready?” Kosurama nodded.
Kosurama looked around the class awaiting to be put under a genjutsu… Although it was rather nerve-racking, he was anxious to become a genin alongside his brother. Kosurama scanned the classroom once again, but something was off this time. The lighting of the room changed dramatically. The room soon flooded with darkness, followed by the ceiling beginning to drip a strange red substance. Kosurama obviously coming to the realization he was in a genjutsu, closed his eyes and thought back to what the instructor had told him. “Focus… Focus…” He repeated to himself. He carefully formed the tiger hand seal and channeled his inner chakra. Soon enough, he was completely relaxed yet concentrated. He breathed in slowly. “Release!” he shouted. Kosurama opened his eyes to discover he had broken the genjutsu.
“Well done, Kosurama.” the instructor remarked “Perhaps you are ready to move on to genin. I wish you the best of luck.” Kosurama bowed to his instructor. He then grabbed his bag from his desk and left the room in absolute silence. Once the door behind him closed he let out a large sigh of relief. "Now all that's left is the genin exam." He said as he made his way back home. "Perhaps I should practice the jutsu necessary to pass the exam a little before I blindly go in to take it." Kosurama repeatedly formed the hand sign combinations of both the clone jutsu and the transformation jutsu. Once he arrived home, he headed upstairs to his room and opened up a large book, where he kept all of his notes regarding jutsu and techniques of the sort. He was absolutely determined to become a genin...
