Yūgure spent a significant amount of time practicing the hand signs. The order of the handsigns was burned into his brain. Tiger, Boar, Ox, Dog, Snake. Kōmon seemed to be watching him very intently as he practiced. When Yū thought he was finally ready to be tested, he asked for Kōmon to throw a Kunai at him. He braced himself in preparation

“Woah that's pretty brave of you kid!” Komon said, “But i think i'm just gonna throw this rock. With my chakra infusion it should be more than enough to set off the puff of cloud but also not very painful if it doesn't end up working” Komon bent down and picked the rock up off the ground and just like he said he was going to do poured some chakra into it. “Alright here it comes” He chucked the rock at the kid. He watched as it soared towards Yugure.

Yūgure kept his cool and weaved the signs as quickly as he could. The rock came soaring at him and smashed directly into his eye, which resulted in a moderate plume of smoke. Yūgure jumped down from the spot he hid in after performing the substitution. He was very visibly exhausted from the effort, but he had managed to learn the substitution jutsu. "Kōmon, thank you greatly for all your help. I never would've been able to do it without you. However, I'm afraid that I have to return home and rest. My chakra's exhausted and I can't keep going. But perhaps we can perform some missions together once I graduate my exam. It was truly a pleasure to meet another member of the Hyuga. Goodbye Kōmon."

Komon said his goodbyes to the academy student, and turned to leave. He was happy he had been able to help someone so effectively he felt like he really was getting skilled.
