Komon woke up to one of those days he was all to used too. Missing his mother. When someone dies the feeling of missing them never really goes away, just when you think you’ve moved on a sound, or a smell, or a feeling will remind you of them. And it just hurts all over again. That’s what happened to him, it had been years since her death and Komon had this feeling a lot, because of that hed developed methods to deal with it. He pulled out a photo book and began to look through photos of his family before their mom and dad’s deaths.

While going through this scrap book he saw his mom’s byakugan in a picture, this reminded him of why she died, all for a byakugan. Komon didn’t want to die the same way and decided he had to take measures to prevent his byakugan from being stolen in the event of his death, he wanted to give his killer one last fuck you, if he couldn’t avoid his own death. So he decided to do some research on how to destroy his eyes upon death.

He went upstairs and packed his gear having already eaten earlier he simply walked out the door and headed towards the library. The village wasn’t very lively today and there weren’t many people in the street so he made his way to the library with relative speed and ease. Upon arriving at the building he entered through the front door to be greeted by the librarian yet again. He figured he should get her name down eventually he’d been coming here for weeks and hadn’t even thought about it up until now.

Walking to the front desk he looked at her shirt to see if she had a nametag. She did and her name was jiyo. Pleased with himself he smiled. “What kind of book are you looking for today?” the woman he had recently identified as Jiyo asked him. Komon told her that he wasnt really sure, and that he wanted to find a jutsu that would destroy his eyes in the event of his death, as a safeguard against being targeted for his eyes.

The librarian seemed to be surprised he had thought this far ahead, that kind of forsite was not often found in children. She knew that he would one day be a strong shinobi based on the amount of time he spent studying jutsu in her library but she was beginning to see the wisdom that may one day get him a jounin rank. After thinking over his request for a while she gave him a response. “Well as it just so happens, You’re clan once had an infamous tradition of placing marks on their children that would destroy your byakugan on death in order to protect the sanctity of the clan and its kekkei genkai.” Komon listened in amazement, if his mother had had this he might not have had to watch her die. “Do you have any books that cover the technique?” he asked in wonder.

The librarian then told him it was actually a very simple E rank Fuinjutsu, and would be found in the E rank Fuinjutsu book. Komon eagerly thanked her and headed off the to Fuinjutsu section of the library pulling out the book, and flipping to the pages covering what he wanted to learn. Scanning through the pages he began studying the history of the technique. In doing so he learned a great deal about the history of his own clan.

He learned about how there used to be two houses the main branch and the side branch, and that in order to keep the dojutsu called the byakugan safe the main branch always put curse marks on the members of the side branch, he learned about the famous neji and hinata hyuuga of the hidden leaf and their displeasure with the curse mark. And how naruto disbanded the practice of the hyuuga clan’s curse mark with his wife’s help.

With the history of the technique down Komon decided he better focus on actually learning it, he’d never even attempted fuinjutsu before and the concept of it confused him. This particular jutsu had no listed handsigns, and that confused the hell out of him. Flustered he decided he better ask the librarian for help. Returning to the front desk to question Jiyo, Komon asked “So how does this jutsu work, all that’s listed in the book is its history.” The librarian sighed, and hesitantly answered, “To use the jutsu just picture the mark, and try to form it with your chakra onto your palm.” If you see the mark appear place your hand to your forehead and it should transfer from the surface of your palm to your forehead.”

Komon thanked the woman and decided this jutsu was neither destructive or space consuming so he could simply practice it here. Beginning to form his first fuinjutsu seal Komon slowed his breathing to a halt, and closed his eyes, taking in a deep breath, and exhaling. With his mind calm and protected by the quietness of the library, he began to picture the seal he wished to shape, picturing the color that was green, and the shape of an x with a small band the same color stretching on either side, with that image in mind he focused it onto the palm of his hand.

With his chakra channeling to his palm he watched in amazement as the seal began to take shape on his palm glowing blue instead of the green he had envisioned, thinking it was odd but deciding it was close enough and probably risk free he pressed the palm of his hand to his forehead and felt the chakra surge from one surface to the other. Walking to the mirror he watched as the chakra had printed the green x onto his forehead. Komon was impressed with himself, it was the first time he had mastered a jutsu in a single try after all. Satisfied with his progress he put his headband over his mark to conceal it.
