The Ginyu Force Flock Empty The Ginyu Force Flock

Sun Dec 18, 2016 4:05 am
Senshi awoke, feeling empty to the core of his being. He had received the missive from the proctors association informing him that while he had passed, he had done so just barely. Six shinobi had voted no against him passing. Six. If even one more person had voted no he would have been in a gridlocked tie. He stared listlessly down at his feet as he moved through his house preparing for the day. He needed to train harder to ensure that he could pass this next exam, but frankly he was just tired. Worn out. Burnt out. He didn’t know how to fix the issues that the proctors had told him about. Wasn’t doing as he was ordered the right thing? But then hesitating when he had been ordered to do something was wrong.

But Akihana-sama had told him that killing was wrong, she had told him emotions were okay. But the Proctors association had been disappointed in his hesitation to kill. He was confused, unsure of himself, and he didn’t know what was right any more. He didn’t know who was in the Proctor’s association or even how it was composed. But Akihana-sama was the second ranking person in Kumo. Still obviously he had done something wrong. He shook his head surprised to find himself sitting at the table eating his bland diet of salmon, eggs, rice, and fruit for breakfast. He turned in his seat as he heard footsteps approaching him surprised to see his father walking down the hall way. The tall, broad shouldered man eyed his youngest child with a critical eye.

“Do you have a mission today?” Senshi looked down, knowing how his father hated when he made eye contact with him, saying that it was a challenge and a good soldier and shinobi shouldn’t challenge their superiors. “No Sir, I do not.” Senshi’s voice came out quiet and devoid of emotions. His father stood silently for several moments before finally speaking. “Good, we need some help at the shop. A delivery to the Black Forest, or well in the vicinity of it. Finish getting ready and head to the shop, your brother will give you the delivery items. Don’t tarry long, I don’t appreciate lazy sons who can’t get basic tasks done.” Senshi merely nodded, having no time to reply as his father left, heading back upstairs. He released a sigh, hoping that none of his superiors needed anything today.

He was sure they didn’t as he hadn’t received any notice of a mission or to meet with his team. Shaking his thoughts off him pushed himself up and cleaned his plate before heading to his room and outfitting himself with his assortment of gear. He threw his long, flowing black cloak over his shoulders not bothering to throw the hood on it up before sneaking out his window. It was a short time later that he walked into his father’s shop, he could see his eldest brother behind the cash register a bored look adorned his features. Senshi approached him, lowering his head slightly in a respectful greeting before he spoke. “Nii-san, Father said to retrieve the scroll that needs delivery to the Black Forest area.” His brother just nodded before rummaging through the scrolls that lay on the shelf behind the cash register.

It took him several minutes before he finally pulled out three scrolls and tossing them to his youngest brother. “There you go, make sure they don’t get damaged. Directions are written in the first scroll.” Senshi nodded pocking the other two before opening the first. Apparently there was a small village on the far end of the black forest, and the locals needed the weapons to maintain their security. He memorized the directions before closing the scroll and pocketing it. He gave his brother another respectful nod before turning and leaving. It would take him several hours just to get to the black forest, and from there a bit longer just to get to the village itself. As he neared the gate he was approached by one of the Chuunin watching it.

He snapped to attention offering a sharp salute as the man spoke to him, “Where you headed to Genin?” He sounded bored, especially considering that it was standard policy that any Genin’s were allowed to leave the village for brief stints. “To the black forest on a delivery, sir.” Senshi’s voice was calm, collected, and as respectful as he could make it. The man nodded pulling out a clip board filled with paper, leafing through them for several seconds before he made a notation on it. “All right on your way then.” Senshi gave a respectful nod and dropped his salute before heading out the gate. This was only the third time he had been out of the village, and though the Rot forest still creeped him out a bit he was able to ignore it. And the smell that it created.

As he was running along the road at his best long speed distance he continued to release chakra pulses to ensure he wouldn’t be snuck up on. It had become a worry ever since Itami-Taichou had done so, for their first C rank mission. His eyes wandered the area around him keeping a fierce look out. He needed these abilities if he ever wanted to achieve his ultimate goal, or even just to be a good shinobi whenever he left the village. He continued to focus on his breathing running along the road, he was officially going in a completely new area now. He had first gone to the Dragon Ravine, and then to a temple, and now he was getting a chance to see a whole new area.

He released a small sigh of contentment as he looked through the land that he called his home. This was what he would be defending, this was what mattered the most. He drew his focus in as he was finally approaching the black forest, he was surprised by just how creepy it felt and as he continued to release chakra pulses he began to feel small niggling feelings of chakra at the end of his senses. He narrowed his eyes continuing to run along the border of the forest not feeling like going into it just yet. It was another hour before he managed to arrive at the village, and he was slightly out of breath. Though he had been working on his stamina lately, such a long run was still taxing on his young body. He again thought about the idea of taking the age pills he had heard so much about, but brushed it off for now.

He had a goal to complete before he could focus on anything else. Entering the village he followed the few directions he had to the mayor’s house. Pausing to catch his breath he knocked on the door waiting several minutes before it opened. An old man, with a head full of gray hair and slight bend in back stood staring back at him. “What do you want Shinobi-san?” Senshi gave a nod of greeting before reaching into his pouch and pulling out the three scrolls. As he offered them to the man he spoke, “Sir, I am Genin Kobayashi Senshi, I was asked to deliver the weapons you had ordered from the Kobayashi Blacksmithing?” The mayor suddenly beamed at him accepting the scrolls and unrolling each to check them out before giving a firm nod.

“Thank you Genin-san, here is the rest of the payment for the weapons. Also as you are a shinobi can you assist us with something?” Senshi accepted the scroll with the money for his father before forming a few hand seals and placing the scroll of money into his personal pocket dimension. “Of course sir, it is a shinobi’s duty to serve.” The old man simply beamed at him before motioning for him to wait. Senshi stood awkwardly in the open door as the old man went back into his house searching for something. He returned several minutes later with a scroll partially unrolled. “Good, good. Here there is some kind of animal in the forest disturbing the village, we’d like for you to handle it, if you could.” Senshi merely nodded as he accepted the scroll unrolling it fully so he could read it.

The culprit was described as a vibrantly blue type of bird. It was apparently stealing the village’s blueberries regularly and attacking any villager that attempted to stop it. Senshi sweat dropped slightly at the description of the animal, wondering how it could possibly be a problem before shrugging that off. It wasn’t even noon yet, and he had packed a lunch so handling this issue shouldn’t be too much of problem. Plus like he had said to the village leader, it was his duty to assist them if he could. “Of course sir, I’ll handle this before I head back to Kumogakure. Have a nice day.” Senshi gave the man a sharp nod before turning and heading towards the edge of the village and the woods.

The scroll had detailed that the animal often came to the edge of the village before heading off into the black forest. Senshi gave a slight shudder at the thought of entering the dark, creep woods but shook it off. He was a shinobi, he could handle this. He had killed in the line of duty already, there could be nothing that dangerous in there. As he reached the edge of town he looked at the ground spending several minutes wandering before he finally found some tracks. It was an odd webbed foot pattern and Senshi stared at it interestingly for several moments before he began to follow the trail that the animal had left. He was severely lucky that the weather had been snowing a lot lately. Since the area was surrounded with a fresh blanket of snow the tracks were obvious.

He had been following the tracks through the forest for almost an hour when he finally heard a sound. His hands immediately rose gripping the hilt of his blade as he looked around. There wasn’t anything that he could see but he began to proceed forwards much slower than before. He crept forwards releasing a pulse of chakra when suddenly he felt a surge of chakra to his right. He cursed himself for not using his chakra sensory for the entire time that he had been searching. There could be missing nin in these woods and while Senshi had considered himself to be after some random weak animal he could still find himself in sudden life threatening danger. His eyes widened as a ball of water came flying at him and he used a seamless substation jutsu to replace himself with branch high and to his left.

He landed on the tree branch he had been aiming before peering down into the forest with sharp eyes. He saw a sudden movement and was surprised to see of all things a Flamingo. It was rather tall, more so than he was and it was glaring up at him. Its wings spread wide. It certainly matched the description of the creature he had been given but Senshi was largely confused as to why the animal had been able to use a jutsu. Or even just its chakra at all for that matter. His confusion and surprise ratcheted up to a new level as the bird spoke to him and he understood it. “A shinobi huh? Haven’t seen one of your kind around here. Why are you here?”

Senshi blinked dumbfounded for several seconds before it clicked that this animal must be like Reizo’s otters. A summon type, one that had evolved to control its chakra and even learn the human languages. Senshi drew himself up keeping his right hand on his sword just in case the animal decided to attack him again. “One of your kind has been raiding the nearby village, I have been asked to sort the issue out.” The vibrantly blue flamingo continued to stare at him for several seconds, finally closing its wings and cocking its oddly small head at him. Its feathers ruffled slightly before it pointed one wing towards the east. “Follow me shinobi, you’ll need to speak to our leader in order to sort that out.” Senshi nodded surprised as the animal took off. Its speed was utterly amazing to the young boy and he struggled initially to keep up.

But eventually he adjusted to the pace, jumping from the tree branches to follow in the blue flamingo’s wake. It was a solid thirty minute run before they finally approached what sounded to the Genin like a river. They drew to a halt at the river’s edge, and Senshi looked around in surprise at the almost countless number of flamingo’s that were on the river’s edge and in the river. He could see vibrantly colored flamingos. Blues, greens, reds, and even a small few black ones. Senshi finally managed to see smaller ones that were gray or white or only partially colored. He turned to the blue flamingo that had led him here and it gestured for him to follow it with its wings.

Many of the flamingos were watching him with suspicion and he could hear them whispering in wonder and curiosity about the boy in their mist. They navigated through the large herd until they turned heading partially into the forest. Senshi was surprised as the gap between the trees began to widen and as they entered into a clearing his eyebrows rose in surprise at the suddenly huge flamingo before him. It was a motley of colors, looking almost like a rainbow. The blue flamingo escorting him gave an odd bow swinging its wing in an odd arc. “Hakku-sama this young shinobi has come to work out a deal with you.” The large bird turned from the blue flamingo eyeing the boy before him with shark narrowed eyes.

When it finally spoke its voice was a deep baritone that echoed throughout the clearing. “Who might you be Shinobi and what deal are you seeking to make?” Senshi sketched a small bow to the bird, realizing that though shinobi shouldn’t bow to any but their superiors in their village, offering the bird that type of respect would get him farther in his negotiations. As a summon animal it was also a good idea to do so anyways. “Hakku-sama my name is Kobayashi Senshi, I am a Genin of Kumogakure no Sato. There is a local village near here that has requested my assistance in handling a matter of stolen food. Is there any terms we can come to so that you and your flock do not take their resources?”

The ancient bird’s eyes narrowed in a glare at the young Genin before transitioning into a thoughtful look. It could feel the Genin’s chakra before him and it was pleased with the way the boy acted. Hakku spent several minutes watching the Genin to see if he would fidget and was proud to note that the boy stood stoically before them. Finally it deigned to speak again, “I think we can come to an agreement. But first I would like to see your power, I will send at you five of my flock. You will battle them for supremacy before we negotiate further.” Senshi blinked in momentary surprise before giving a nod. The elder bird moved backwards clearing the way even more before letting out a loud call in a language the boy couldn’t understand.

Within several minutes several flamingo’s suddenly swarmed the area and Senshi was surprised to see them all ringing the area. Finally Hakku turned to look at Senshi before speaking again, “We will work from weakest to strongest, youngest to eldest. Kyoki, you will be first.” Senshi’s eyes rose slightly as a small flamingo, looking more like a new hatchling flew from the flock landing several meters away. It was a white and gray feathered thing and it squawked at Senshi in that odd language. The large elder bird made a movement with its wings and Senshi watched as the small bird flew at him. He made no motion till it was near him and suddenly he moved tilting his body to the side and using Taijutsu: Discipline to smack the small bird out of the air.

In a loud squawk it smashed into the dirt, the small bird struggled for several seconds to get up. Senshi waited for it but finally Hakku spoke again. “It is clear Kobayashi Senshi has won this round. Kyoki meet up with one of the elders to be checked. Hijoshikina, you are up next.” Senshi watched silently as yet another small bird moved out. This one was larger than Kyoki had been though it was the same color. He could see an odd feather here or there that was a dark black. He rose a slight eyebrow at the small bird wondering why the leader of these flamingos was trying to send such weak opponents at him. He knew he was young but still to be so underestimated was surprising.

It then dawned on the young Genin that not only did he look young, but he was also wearing a flowing black cloak that hid all of his features. His musculature could not be seen, nor could any of his weapons. He looked weak like this after all. Not mention he had introduced himself as a Genin, the lowest of the shinobi ranks. Matched with his young appearance it wasn’t a surprise that the leader of the flock had decided to test and see if he was worth anything. If he couldn’t compete with these small fry then how was he going to handle any of the stronger members of the flock. Add in that if he was so weak as to succumb to any of his opponents then he wouldn’t be worth negotiating with.

As Senshi came to these conclusions he also realized that he had so much more to learn about being a shinobi and about missions such as this. Giving and internal nod to himself he focused in on his newest opponent. He would need to ensure that he was good enough to complete this newest task. He brought his hands outside of his cloak readying them for this newest birds attack as Hakku gave the motion to begin. The flamingo squawked angrily at him before dashing forwards and angry look in its eyes. Senshi waited patiently pleased that he was so much faster than this creature. As it neared him his hands flashed with the seals for Wind strike. He moved to punch the bird surprised as it twisted to avoid the first punch, a small gust of wind blowing back dirt and leaves. His second hand was already coming in a follow up punch that the flamingo was not expecting.

This one was also dodged however, the wind blast coming off his fist caught the small bird this time blow it backwards. It wasn’t enough to knock it out like the first bird had been though Senshi could see that the bird was tired and hurt from the blow. This time it came at him slowly, far more cautious than it had been before. Senshi watched it calmly intent on not showing all of his skills too early. He didn’t want any of the stronger fighters to be able to predict what he was going to do when it was there time to fight. These weaker birds were simply a test to make sure he wasn’t absolutely pathetic, and Senshi was bent on defeating them as quickly and with as little damage and stamina wasted as possible. Senshi wanted to absolutely destroy these weaker opponents.

It wouldn’t do well if he couldn’t destroy them easily, because then he would look weak not only to the leader of the flock but the rest of the others. Kumo shinobi weren’t weak and Senshi was intent on making sure that these summons know how strong Kumo was. As the bird came in Senshi refrained from using one of his other techniques and instead simply used taijutsu: discipline again, smacking the small bird out of the air. Though this one was clearly stronger than the last bird, the dual hits it had received finally knocked it clean out. Senshi had still yet to move a single step from where he had been and he wondered if this was how the Raikage had felt when he and Reizo had sparred against him.

Finally one of the larger birds moved forwards picking up the unconscious flamingo and moving out of the clearing. Hakku gave Senshi an approving look before speaking again, “Hmm, yet again the winner is Kobayashi Senshi. You’ve done well so far. It seems testing you wasn’t quite needed. But as I stated we will still go through, you shouldn’t find your next opponent so easy to defeat. Kureiji come forwards, it is your turn to attempt to defeat Kobayashi Senshi.” Senshi turned his head watching as the flamingo moved from the flock. This one was much larger than the previous too, clearly not a new hatchling but one who had to be near Senshi’s age. However age worked for bird and flamingo’s that is. Senshi wasn’t entirely too sure how it worked but he was certain that this bird had to be pre-adolescent or even a teenager in their terms.

This meant that he would need to begin to take this more seriously, he couldn’t afford to have his opponent win. He needed to make sure that, that village was protected. Plus if all he was doing was fighting five enemies then he needed to ensure that he made it at least to the last one. The first two had been so simple that Senshi didn’t think that they should have counted as opponents. They hadn’t had much health and were incredibly slow, but Senshi knew that the two of them could have been useful in other ways. They just were not frontline fighters. Much like he had been forced to fight in a Taijutsu only match when his specialty was not that, those two had been forced to fight in a way that didn’t work well for them. Senshi let loose a breath focusing in on his opponent.

His opponent, Kureiji, was around three feet tall, though Senshi couldn’t tell what his wingspan was he knew that he would need to be prepared for the bird to fly. He hadn’t had to deal with any real flying opponents but he assumed that this one would be difficult. A bird would be able to maneuver in the air and it might take away any taijutsu moves he knew. Likely it would take away most of his weapons techniques as well, unless he wanted to end up in the air where he would not be able to maneuver. He had learned quite well from both Reizo and the Raikage that he needed to keep his feet on solid ground as much as possible. Unless he could develop a way to maneuver in the air that was. Likely he wouldn’t be able to ever figure out a way to do that and thus it was a weakness he would have to learn to cope with.

Senshi was only mildly weirded out that his opponent was pink and blue. This new opponent certainly lacked the ability for stealth that the other could have used. Thus Senshi had to draw the conclusion that they would be much better in a close combat. Finally Hakku have the motion for them to begin and as Senshi prepped for his opponent to come at him he was surprised when instead he spoke. “So you really think that you, some basic low level shinobi stands a chance against me?” Senshi blinked wondering if maybe the flamingo was trying to distract him while he prepared a technique but instead he just seemed to swell up in pride not moving a wing or foot in his direction. Senshi finally spoke, hesitantly and complete unsure what was going on. He had never had someone try to trash talk him in a fight before, or really try to trash talk him ever, so he was wholly unprepared for how to deal with it.

“Uhm… Yes I do believe that I stand a chance. I must complete my assigned task and to do so I must defeat you. There is no other option.” Kureiji seemed to deflate slightly at the lack of challenge Senshi was giving him in the talking department. He even went so far as to look back and forth at the flock of flamingo’s surrounding them as though searching for them to support him. “You’re just a low level Genin, you don’t stand a chance against a warrior of the Flamingo Flock.” If Senshi were any other shinobi he might have issued a giggle at the idea of saying Flamingo Flock. It really did roll off the tongue even if it sounded utterly absurd. He didn’t see a point in responding to Kureiji’s words this time, especially since no question had really been issued. Out of the corner of his eyes he could see several of the other flamingo’s that had come to watch the battles shift around and look down.

He could see that Hakku seemed exasperated with Kueiji and even annoyed that nothing had happened yet. He didn’t want to dash forwards and start the fight off, but it was beginning to seem like he may have to. This talking period had at least given him some time to recover the small amount of energy he had exerted in the past two fights. “Fine, I will just have to show the strength of the flamingo clan, I will take you out in one attack usurper!” Senshi blinked again not understand the Flamingo’s meaning behind his words. He wasn’t trying to take over anything and thus he couldn’t understand why he was being called and usurper. While this Flamingo looked far sturdier than the last two Senshi still didn’t think he’d with stand too much punishment.

Hakku made an irritated motion with his wings as though encouraging Kureiji to get a move on it and start the fight already. The bird before him began to make odd motions with his wings and feet as though he were dancing around the area in some kind of contemporary ballet performance. He suddenly came to a halt and several small balls of fire were flying at him. In his surprise Senshi was late on his movements, he had not expected the creature to be capable of using any type of Ninjutsu. As fast as he had been moving around, and as fast as the balls of chakra were coming at him he still had plenty of time to react. This one’s speed was exceptionally faster than the other two. His eyes narrowed as he ducked under the first one and then bent awkwardly around the next. He took himself into a handstand avoiding the next ball.

He was happy he had done such training with the wooden posts so that he could easily move around dodging the balls of fire. Though his motions felt slightly acrobatic in nature they were stamina conserving and allowed him to dodge things with minimal movement. He came out of his hand stand his feet landing in the exact place he had been standing before, he wiped his now dirty hands off on his pants inside his cloak raising an eyebrow at Kureiji. “What? How did you…. You’re a lot faster than I thought you were. Fine, I will still take you down. No matter what, you will not beat me!” Senshi’s eyebrow remained raised in curiosity as the flamingo yelled at him. It was a rather comical sight to see a pink feathered bird jumping around yelling at him.

Senshi realized a moment later that his amusement at the situation shouldn’t have distracted him. The flamingo hadn’t been jumping around in anger to yell at him, instead he had been jumping around in his odd contemporary ballet like dance moves. He realized his mistake as a stream of fire came flying at him. With a sing ram hand seal Senshi used the body flicker to move himself as far out of the way of it as he could. There was no way this time that he could possibly stand in the same place and dodge. He skidded to a stop sending leaves and dust flying at the surrounding flamingos around him. Kuerieji grunted in raise before making an odd motion with his wings and flying towards the young Genin. Senshi’s hands instinctively dove into his cloak pulling his tangos from their sheaths and bringing them up.

He just barely managed to get them up crossed in front of his face catching the flamingo’s beak against them. He smirked lightly as the bird bounced off his blades landing in a runner’s stance. Judging by that strike Senshi had surmised that the bird was rather weak. In return however he could see just how sharp that beak was. The other Flamingos were all rustling at his successful parry, it seemed that they had not expected him to be able to react in time. In all fairness Senshi had not expected himself to be able to react in time either, it really was luck that he had managed it in all honesty. Flexing his arms Senshi decided that now was the time for him to make a move, to go on the offensive. He had allowed the flamingo before him to attack so far and showed off his own speed and skill in dodging. He would need some of that to remain a secret lest his next two opponent gain an advantage over him.

With how this bird could use Ninjutsu, and techniques like the body flicker Senshi was in no hurry to allow the other birds an insight into his abilities. Especially since he would have to fight every other bird without any knowledge of their own abilities. Letting loose a breath of air he dashed forwards bringing his tantos around to strike at Kureiji. The large bird docked and weaved under his swipes since Senshi was taking the time to hide his abilities. With a sudden smirk Senshi brought his blades back and swiped at the bird purposely over extending so that his back would become partially turned to Kureji. As he did so the bird suddenly crowed in delight, “You’ve made a grave error, Genin! I have got you now.” Senshi’s own smirk went completely unnoticed to his opponent but was easily seen by the other flamingos in front of him.

They immediately began crowing and warning the brash pink bird off, but Kureiji was not one to be dissuaded from what he thought was an attack he could land against the cloaked Genin. Senshi turned suddenly letting lose a Cloud Reverse Style beheading attack pleased to see his blades slash and cut into the flamingo. He lent to the side as the flamingo soared past him landing in a heap and rolling several times as he did so. Senshi felt the blood that had flown out of the flamingo’s body soak his cloak. He was happy that not only was the cloak black but also water resistant. That meant the blood probably wouldn’t soak through his cloak and ruin his clothes, but also that it would be easy to either disguise or watch out. He raised his tanto’s into a basic defensive stance watching as Kureiji struggled to his feet. Senshi could see the two bleeding slashed on the flamingo’s right wing.

He had pulled back slightly at the last minute to ensure that they wouldn’t be that deep, he didn’t want to kill the bird after all. He didn’t really think that he could fight off all these flamingos after all and killing one would probably end up resulting in him having to fight all of them. He doubted that the flock would take well to the death of one of their own after all. Senshi felt a small bead of sweat rolling down his face and drip off his chin as Kureiji finally regained his feet. Senshi could see the wound was bothering the bird and he wondered when Hakku would call this fight off. It was clear that he wouldn’t be able to fight well and that wound to his wing would prevent him from using any more Ninjutsu. Narrowing his eyes Senshi let out a pulse of chakra using the temporary paralysis technique on him.

He figured that the technique wasn’t likely to affect any of the higher ranking flamingos, so using it wouldn’t show too many more of his abilities. He was already displeased that he had been forced to show case one of his C rank techniques and his tantos. That was giving these flamingos too much information in his opinion. As the technique took hold and Kureiji trembled falling to one knee, his webbed foot digging into the ground Senshi stood up to his full height wiping the two blades on his cloak before sheathing them. He turned to Hakku giving him a blank look and raising one eye brow. It was his one chance that Senshi would give him to call the fight before he attacked with taijutsu. The large leader of the flamingo’s let loose a weary sigh before speaking. “That will be the end of this fight. One of you assist Kureiji and tend to his wounds.”

Senshi gave a stiff nod watching as three bright blue and green flamingo’s moved into the clearing assisting his opponent off to the side. He raised a hand wiping a lone bead of sweat off his face before turning to face Hakku completely. He wasn’t excessively tired but dodging around, and using the C rank technique had taken at least some of his stamina. Hakku looked at the young Genin before him surprised not only by how easily he had defeated one of their C rank warriors, but in the way he had handled himself so far. He didn’t seem tired, he had used only basic techniques show casing very little of his abilities, and not mention it had seemed more as though he had been toying with Kureiji. Hakku wasn’t sure if that was because he hadn’t wanted to show too many of his abilities or if it was because he was that arrogant.

“Before we begin I have a question for you Kobayashi Senshi, why were you toying with Fire Warrior Kureiji?” Senshi blinked in surprise, not understanding that the way he had fought would draw such a question. He hadn’t thought that he was toying with the flamingo, but as he replayed the fight in his eyes and the way he had smirked before drawing the flamingo in for his attack he began to understand why he was being questioned. It could be seen as toying with his opponent, since he could have easily finished the fight in the beginning rather than allowing all those attacks. He had wanted to stay on the defensive to gain a bit of a feel for his opponent but maybe that had been a mistake. “I was not toying with him Hakku-sama. I wanted to gain a feel for his abilities before I attacked and drew him into a trap. I apologize if it seemed that I was arrogant, but I assured I am taking all of you warriors extremely seriously.”

The leader of the Battle Flamingo’s eyed the Genin before him, focusing on his body language and tone of words. Though no one had been a summoned of the Flamingo’s in a long time he still remembered all his lessons on human body language and what his was reading from the boy was truthfulness. He had not intended to seem arrogant, and had simply been focused on what he was doing. There was a core to the boy that the leader of flamingos was beginning to respect. He would need to conduct a conversation with him, one on one, once these battles were completed. With a stiff nod the leader looked to the sky gauging that they could have one more battle before noon and the time for lunch came. His flock would not take well to missing lunch and if the boy before him won then he would probably need some rest.

His next warrior was rather strong, more so than even Kureiji had been and he was quite well known for his battle abilities. With a firm nod of respect to the Genin he began speaking again, “Very well, I appreciate your reassurance Kobayashi Senshi. Now for the fourth battle, Yasei come forwards. You will battle the boy who has defeated three of your subordinates. I expect you to make a good showing for the Flock.” Senshi turned looking for who his opponent was and as the vibrantly blue bird that he had met in the forest moved to the center of the clearing Senshi took the time to gaze at him with more calculating eyes. He knew Yasei was fast based off their run here, surprising fast for such and awkward looking bird. Senshi could see that he was significantly sturdier than the previous three fights.

To be expected since the fights had been getting progressively more difficult, just as Hakku had said that they would. Yasei didn’t appear to be any stronger than the last three but with a pulse of his chakra Senshi was assured that he had far more potent chakra. Narrowing his eyes at the already glaring flamingo Senshi searched for some sort of weakness in his stance. He could see that he was barely taller than Yasei and remembered that his wing span was significantly wider than the other two. He would definitely need to be on his guard, especially since he was fully prepared for him to use Ninjutsu as his predecessor had. It was interesting to note that while Kureiji had been a fire type, this flamingo possibly wasn’t.

Senshi was basing this off the fact that one, Yasei had used a water technique on him earlier. He had originally assumed it to be a trap but with the knowledge of his last fight he now began to think that it was in fact a true Ninjutsu attack. And two, Hakku had stated that KUreiji was a fire warrior, which meant that the Flock must have other natured types. It seemed that they worked much like human chakra networks did. They clearly could have different elemental types. Hakku finally gave the ok for them to begin with a sharp downward slash of his wings. Senshi was surprised by Yasei dashing forwards, he had been expecting the flamingo to be fast, but not this fast. His hands came up just barely managing to bat the bird’s beak away from striking him by redirecting the hit.

He slid backwards, more so from the speed then the strength of the hit. The strength hadn’t felt any different from what the other birds had brought to bear against him. It seemed like the flamingos didn’t have much strength even if all of them had a lot of speed. Senshi let loose a pulse of chakra and felt his heart stutter in his chest for a moment. This flamingo had almost as much chakra as he did, its potency was think in his brain as he could feel it. Senshi didn’t have much time to react as suddenly several needles of water were coming at him. His hands instantly formed a ram seal and he dashed backwards away from the potentially lethal blow. He used his time moving backwards to draw his two tanto’s preparing for more attacks to follow up.

The Ginyu Force Flock Empty Re: The Ginyu Force Flock

Sun Dec 18, 2016 4:06 am
This bird seemed to be rather focused on offense, and a fast paced battle movement. He clearly didn’t want to give Senshi any time to prepare for him. He was also silent, unlike the last flamingo that he had faced and as such Senshi felt that he was going to be forced to reveal far more about his abilities than he was comfortable with. If this bird was this strong then what was his next opponent going to be like. Senshi moved again dodging another charge from the bird. As it was he may have to just focus on dodging, remaining on the defensive and just wait for the flamingo to wear itself out. Though that relied on the Flamingo not having enough stamina to cope with the young genin, something that Senshi did not feel comfortable relying on.

It wasn’t something that any good shinobi should rely on but Senshi was fearful of the next flamingo that he would have to face. He needed to ensure that he had enough stamina and surprises left over to handle his next opponent as well. Something this opponent, that he was currently facing, did not have to worry about. Senshi decided that he was going to have to show case more of his skills then he really wanted to, but he resolved to not use any of his a rank techniques unless he absolutely needed to. Keeping those as a secret would assist him at least in some way, plus he wouldn’t run out of stamina or chakra to continue fighting if he was careful of the techniques he used. Though he wanted to see if he could tired the flamingo out, he knew that if he stayed on the defensive for too long he would lose this match.

With a basic sketch of a plan worked out in his mind, Senshi resolved to maintain the defensive for a bit longer to try and lure the flamingo into a false sense of security. It might assist him in some way if the bird started to underestimate his skills. As the bird charged in Sneshi moved to the side keeping his tantos out and making a few light swipes at the bird watching as it agilely dodged away. With its speed being the same as his own Senshi knew that he wouldn’t be able to power through this by strength and physical capabilities alone. Still he needed to test the flamingo’s relaxes to ensure that his end game plan would work out in the end. The bird suddenly sent several shuriken shaped water things at him. He was surprised that the animal was so quick at his weird interpretive dances.

He was beginning to get an idea of how the weird dancing around and flapping of the wings worked. It helped that he knew the basics of most C rank and below techniques and had spent hours memorizing the Juts Encyclopedia book. It was helping that he knew these things since as he fought more of the birds and they used more techniques he was learning what the motions indicated in respect to hand seals. He brought his blades him charging his wind chakra into them and then slashing both of the blades at the empty air, watching as the decapitating airwaves technique flew through the air quickly reversing the course of the water shuriken. The flamingo let loose a disgruntled squawk before dodging out of their way himself. Senshi was glad that he was finally getting a good handle on the jutsu, being able to knock away thrown weapons was a massive boon to his own abilities.

If he could stay at a distance and take out his opponents without them being able to attack him in return he would make it through many more battles. Senshi jumped back using his blades to block the sudden attack from the flamingo, redirecting its beak away from him. He was exceedingly glad that he had learned the technique Bukijutsu, art of the parry. In this fight alone he was beginning to see just how useful it was. He moved backwards avoiding several more water shuriken as they came flying at him. He had decided to save some of his chakra instead of blowing it all on just his defensive maneuvers. Despite not using anything stronger than a C rank technique he could feel the sweat building on his body. He had been fighting for over an hour now and it was beginning to take a toll on his body.

He quickly sheathed his blades deciding that now was the time to incorporate some offense of his own into this fight. He didn’t want the flamingos to think that he only ever did defensive type of fighting. It was the wrong impression to give, they needed to believe that he as a kumogakure shinobi would be able to take the offensive and destroy any resistance they threw at him. It would be hard, even with the amount of techniques he knew since he vastly preferred stealth, distance, and trapping his opponent to this type of upfront fighting that he was constantly being forced into. His hands moved to his weapons pouch drawing two shuriken and he quickly threw them, only slightly off sync so that the second was concealed in the first’s shadow. He hadn’t used the shadow shuriken technique in combat yet and he was excited to see its worth for once.

The flamingo jumped dodging the first and Senshi could see the look of surprise in his eyes as the second one almost grazed its webbed feet. Despite the shuriken being dodged Senshi was pleased by how fast the weapons had flown. He could even see the flamingo’s that encircled them had to scramble to get out of the way so that they weren’t hit. He was even proud of the fact that the shuriken were stuck so deep into the tree that they had struck that he would be forced to dig them out with his kunai or tantos later. Which would be a pain but worth doing since it would save him some money for things that he actually needed. Turning his attention back to his opponent he was pleased to see that he flamingo was eyeing him both warily and speculatively.

It was clear that he had not expected that move and this time as he moved into attack, he did so with far more caution than before. Senshi was glad that his opponent was beginning to take him seriously as it made him feel more worthy of his title as a Genin of kumogakure. He allowed the bird to move several meters closer to him before his hands flashed using the one technique that he had killed with so far. The Kyodo Kai Quick draw sent a kunai flying at the flamingo at vastly greater speeds then he would have been able to achieve with his own, normal abilities. This time Senshi was pleased to see that his sudden attack had surprised the bird and the blade sunk into the side of its body several inches. He could hear and almost audible groan come from the flock around him as first blood was finally drawn.

The had been fighting for well over twelve minutes by this point, and though there had been a lot of action very little of it had resulted in any damage. For first blood to go to the challenger, it was rather disappointing for the flock to place it mildly. Senshi watched as the flamingo moved in towards him, its speed barely effected by his attack and he, himself was beginning to feel tired from the amount of fighting he had done. He moved to the side in a summersault coming back up in a hand stand to dodge both another attack by the beak of his foe and a stomp from its foot. In a hand stand position he twisted his body to avoid several water shuriken, and pushed off the ground spinning the air. As he did so his hand flashed again to his weapons pouch using the Kyodo Kai Quick draw again.

He lacked the element of surprise now, however and the bird moved in an odd new pattern for its little interpretive dance. As it raised its left wing at an odd angle a sudden rush of water swirled up forming a wall that caught the kunai preventing it from causing any more damage. It also saved Senshi from any retaliatory attacks as he landed in a crouch. Yasei stared back at the Genin breathing heavily as he did so. They had been fighting hard for a long time and his aggressive approach to this battle had led him to using far more techniques then the boy before him. It was wearing on his reserves and he wasn’t sure how much longer he could keep up this pace before he either passed out or was forced to concede the match. He didn’t want to lose to this human fighter, and though he had made a much better showing then his predecessors he still hadn’t forced the boy to show anything truly devastating. He had managed to show the one who would fight next that the boys physical conditioning and knowledge of where his body was, was superb.

Despite trying to hit him, they were evenly matched in speed and apparently even stamina. Though the boy had remained on the defensive for a bit focusing on dodging, it was clear through the last several minutes of his offensive strikes that he wasn’t lacking in that department. Senshi watched as the vibrantly blue flamingo before him ruffled its feathers. He was fairly certain that in the next few strikes they would resolve this match. Both he and the bird were becoming rather tired from their fighting after all, and he knew since he was looking for a quick way to finish it, that it must be doing the same also. He watched as the birds skinny legs tensed preparing to move and then in a sudden odd twitch of both its wings it dashed forwards far faster than it had ever moved before.

Senshi’s right shoulder was hit by the bird’s beak as he was unable to react fast enough to get fully out of the way. He had only managed to move enough so that instead of striking his sternum it had hit his shoulder. The impact was so strong only because of the speed the bird had moved, and not because of its strength. As it was only a small amount of blood dribbled out of the wound as Senshi rode the strike around bring his leg up as he squatted down he was pleased as the bird was swept off his feet when he struck with the leaf gale. Rather than rising from his position his hands flashed, as the birds wings and legs twitched around at the same time. Just as he used Ration: electromagnetic murder a massive dragon of water began forming. Senshi watched as his bolt of electricity suddenly charged down the length of the dragon being amplified as it did so before connecting with the blue flamingo.

The bird let loose several loud squawks of pain as its body convulsed from the blow. Senshi began weaving hand signs again before bending down and connecting his palm to Yasei watching as his body twitched violently again before he felt silent. The cramp technique was exceedingly useful in this situation as well, as it prevented the bird from moving again. His hands disappeared back into his cloak as he tried to calm his rapidly beating heart and slow his breathing back down. Sweat was rolling down his face and dripping not only onto the ground, but also onto the bird he stood over. He drew his tanto’s giving Hakku a meaningful look as he did so. He was giving him a chance to call the match before Senshi struck a far more devastating blow.

He could the indecision on the large bird’s features but as Senshi moved to strike he smacked his wings together, creating a loud clapping noise. Senshi halted his attack moving a step back as the large bird spoke. “Kobayashi Senshi is the winner of the four match, over Yasei.” Senshi gave a satisfied nod to the large bird before sheathing his two tantos and turning to walk back to the center of the clearing. He was tired, and sorely needed a rest break break but he was expecting the next battle to begin immediately. Just as all the others had. He was sure that he was going to lose this next match, for if the flamingo were on the same level as the one he had just faced he would quickly run out of stamina. But he suspected that this next flamingo would be even stronger than Yasei. He would need to fight smart, or else he would surely lose. Even if he was expecting to lose he needed to fight in order to ensure that he completed his task.

As he neared the center of the field he saw three new flamingo’s approaching Yasei and helping him out of the area. He turned his eyes towards Hakku standing as calmly as he could appear in the center waiting for him to announce his next opponent. “As the challenger has already faced four opponents, and see as it is just pass noon we shall take an hour and a half break in order to consume lunch and allow the challenger a brief respite before his final battle.” Senshi let loose a relieved sigh at the bird’s words, he didn’t want to admit to any of them that he needed a break, but he sorely did. As the flock began to disperse heading to find its food the Genin moved from the center of the clearing to where his shuriken had embedded themselves deeply in the tree. Withdrawing a Kunai he spent several minutes digging them out before pocketing them.

He then moved throughout the field collecting the rest of the weapons that he had thrown, he suspected that he was going to be needing them. Once he had finished checking his weapons over and ensuring they still had their edge, a half an hour had flown by. He finally took a seat underneath one of the trees pulling his lunch out of his storage displacement technique. It materialized, painfully slow but while it did Senshi took the opportunity to examine the area around him. All of the flamingo’s had left to find food and Senshi had been hit with a brilliant idea. When given the chance every good shinobi should prepare the battlefield so that it suited them best. He didn’t know what to expect from his next opponent other than that whichever flamingo it was, it would be significantly stronger than any of the others that he had faced.

With that in mind he quickly ate the small bento of rice, chicken, and various vegetables before storing the contained back in his little pocket dimension. He pushed himself off the ground, the brief ten minute respite doing him well, but not enough to restore all of his chakra. He had less than an hour to prepare the area for the flamingo’s return and he was determined to make sure he had finished everything. He quickly moved about using his tanto’s to dig holes and place makibishi in them. He went and gathered several logs stringing them up with his wire and even prepared a small kunai trap for them. He spent several minutes brushing himself off trying to make sure he had no dirt on himself, as he did so the first of the flamingos began to arrive.

Senshi focused on looking as calm and focused as he could, and not giving away the fact that he had set up several traps while they had been away. After several minutes of the birds filtering in Senshi finally saw Hakku arriving back in the field. His every step seeming the make the ground shake beneath him as he moved. He straighter his body as the old, exceptionally large flamingo finally stopped in a corner of the clearing. The old bird ruffled its feathers before running its eyes not only over the assembled flamingo’s that had gathered but also over the boy that was challenging them. It finally spoke after noting that the Genin appeared to have recovered at least some of his chakra and stamina from the battles. “Ganjo, come forwards.” Senshi watched as after several seconds another humongous Flamingo came forwards.

She was over nine feet tall, and Senshi was willing to bet that her wing span was more than double her own height, simply judged on hos large they looked. Her obnoxiously vibrant pink feathers hurt the stoic Genin’s eyes, but the longer he stared at her the more he saw several neon green feathers throughout her coat. She seemed exceptionally solid and sturdy compared to all of the other birds he had faced so far today. As she finally stopped walking he released a small pulse of chakra in order to better feel her out and he began to feel the color draining from his face. Her chakra potency was higher than his own, not exceptionally so, but enough that he could feel his own wavering behind hers. She was also fresh, and had not been fighting all morning as he had been.

Not to mention that he had run all the way here from Kumo as well, the Genin was beginning to feel even more worried about being able to win this fight. He could only hope that his preparations would be enough to carry him through this all. He continued to observe her noting that she seemed just as lean as the others, which meant that she was probably not strong at all. Possibly around the same level that they had been. Hakku began speaking again, “The fifth and final battle between Kobayashi Senshi and the Battle Flamingo Flock shall begin soon. Are you both ready?” Senshi gave a firm nod of acknowledgement as Ganjo did the same. She seemed more focused than the other flamingo’s had been and from what he could see of her, he couldn’t read any of her emotions. She seemed just as stoic as he himself was, which Senshi found to be rather pleasing.

Before Hakku could issue any other words, or even motion for them to begin she spoke, her voice a soft soprano. “Kobayashi Senshi, I hope that you will prove to be as worthy an opponent for me as you have for my brethren.” Senshi blinked in surprise not only because he found her voice rather pleasant to listen to, but also because she seemed to be just as adherent to politeness as he was. He gave her a small bow in response to her own respect that she had shown him. She deserved that in the least. “Ganjo-san I hope that I can live up to your expectations.” She gave a firm nod to him before also sketching a small curtsy in his direction her wing moving out from her body. As she made the motion Hakku finally gave the signal that they could commence their fight. With an odd movement of her legs the vibrantly pink and green flamingo sent a wicked smirk his way.

Senshi was immediately surprised as several spears of earth began to jump out at him. He moved backwards drawing his blades as they came at him faster than he had been expecting. Charging a small amount of lightning chakra into his blades he swiped at the earth spears watching as they shattered around him. He was certainly glad that lightning was stronger than earth. He quickly sheathed his blades realizing that he was going to have to take this as the most serious fight he had been in. Barring only his battle against the Raikage, when he had Reizo help. His hand land on the hilt of Bastuodosodo and he narrowed his eyes at the pink flamingo. She moved again, her wings and feet going in an odd pattern before a section of earth rose up coming at him quickly. He glared before he moved using Cloud Style Beheading as he drew his sword to smash the rock to pieces.

With Bastuodosodo now showing his threw off his cloak and he could hear an almost audible intake of breath from the surrounding flamingos. They finally saw just how well muscled the boy before them was. His clear dedication to improving himself physically was on display, and as he clutched the overly large tightly his muscles popped out even further. The remnants of the rock pillar she had shot at him from the tearing earth turning jiujutsu crashed to the ground. Senshi had missed her moving again but he watched as he slowly melded into the earth. He had never seen the hiding like a mole technique used before, but as the pink flamingo disappeared he realized that today he would learn. Probably far more than he was currently comfortable with. He started to release pulses of chakra trying to sense the female flamingo, know that her pure skill and speed would result in his quick demise if he wasn’t on his toes.

Despite the fact that he had set the Makibishi as a trap he could trigger with his own skills, he was surprised to hear a sudden squawk and the pink flamingo rematerialized several feet away from him. The makibishi had worked in his favor, without his having to even expend the energy in order to trigger the trap. He stared at the small bleeding wounds the pink feathered flamingo now sported and felt a small amount of pride wash through his being. He had at least managed to wound her, even if he lost the flock should respect that at least. She moved around again and suddenly he was surprised as she dashed forwards. His sword being up in a defensive position was the only thing that saved him as she crashed against him sending him skidding back several meters.

She had moved so fast that he hadn’t even been able to achieve. She was certainly slightly faster than he was, but with the usage of what he recognized as the Body Flicker technique, she could greatly outperform him. She spent several minutes testing his basic defenses with random charges and jabs of her beak. She wasn’t using the body flicker anymore and he found it much easier to keep up with her now. His blade coming around to push her off and deflect the blows. He was so used to Batsuodosodo’s weight and size, and his strength had increased so much that he moved the sword around as easily as others wielded a katana. He could hear the surprise and appreciative whispers the other flamingos were making about his skill with the blade.

He had never actually been praised before for his sword work, but he found that he rather enjoyed it now. As she dashed in her turned the blade slightly and instead of parrying the blow he used Kenjutsu: Spanking on her to see what her own defenses were like. The sudden switch to an offensive stance seemed to have surprised her and she was batted away by his weak, yet effective blow. Senshi then commenced with an attack of his own. He charged in making basic slashes at her with his blade, watching as she used her incredibly hard and sharp beak to do just as he had. He could feel the sweat building as he continued to attack. He could see how her own feathers were becoming slightly damp with sweat as well. She had used far more advanced techniques than he had before, but their long duel testing each other defenses was wearing them down steadily.

Senshi was again unsure if he would be able to outlast the flamingo before him. He was confident in his stamina but after the last ten minutes of simply going back and forth testing each other he was unsure if that really meant much at all. Bother Yasei and Ganjo had clearly training hard to achieve the level of stamina that they were at, so Senshi knew that he couldn’t count on his own being higher. They both finally stopped, their breathing accelerated and Senshi could feel his heart pounding in his chest. This had officially become the longest fight he had even been a part of. He narrowed his eyes and making a quick hand seal around his blade, he took one hand off the hilt and started punching at the air. The wind release wind strike technique sending several small gusts of wind flying at the pink flamingo.

She twisted in an odd intricate pattern before stomping her foot on the ground raising multiple walls of earth to blow the attack. Senshi frowned as they easily absorbed the weak blasts of wind, barely forming any dents. They lowered slowly revealing that there was no flamingo behind them. He jumped backwards as a beak appeared where his head had been before. He continued drawing the pink flamingo towards the edge of the clearing, wanting to smile as he watched several of the birds there clear the area. They were obviously wary of the boy and their fellow flamingo accidently injuring them during the course of their battle. As the pink bird charged him again Senshi quickly drew a kunai throwing it into the woods before making the ram seal and activating the body flicker.

He moved away from the area watching as several shuriken and kunai came flying towards his opponent. He crouched under a few before jumping to avoid the final ones. He couldn’t help the smile that graced his features as the weapons he had placed cut the wire to the next trap, he had anticipated the bird jumping to avoid some of the weapons after all. Due to this the sharpened logs he had prepared came flying from several directions piercing into her as she made a loud squawk of pain. Senshi’s faced drained of color, he had assumed she would be able to handle the trap and instead it looked like he had accidentally killed her. He could hear several angry squawks from all of the surrounding flamingos and the weight of Hakku’s glare on the boy was surprisingly unnerving.

Senshi braced himself for their anger but they all suddenly cut off replaced by surprise as the grievously wounded pink and green flamingo suddenly dissolved, turning to earth. Senshi blinked in surprise before letting loose a quick pulse of chakra. It wasn’t fast enough however and he let loose a grunt of pain as a particularly sharp peak suddenly pierced deeply into his shoulder. He could feel the blood running down his chest and arm as he jerked backwards throwing his monster sword at the bird. It smashed into her sending her flying several meters backwards and he struggled underneath its weight pinned to the ground. His hands flashed to his weapons pouches pulling out a scroll in each hand as he jumped into the air. He pulled the scrolls open and as they began to unfurl around him he began to unseal weapon after weapons sending them raining down on the bird below him.

He watched as shuriken and kunai after shuriken and kunai began to pierce into her. He wasn’t aiming to kill but if they didn’t get her help soon enough she would die from the wounds he was inflicting. When he was halfway through the scrolls he was again surprised as this bird too turned out to be a Doton: Kage bunshin. He landed with a harsh thud looking around him as an exhausted pink bird rose from the ground. Senshi realized what must have happened. When she had risen the earth walls she had executed a single doton kage bunshin before hiding herself. Then while he was busy killing the first one she had created another to attack him, in order to keep herself safe. He stood panting as he stared at her his hands moving to draw his kunai to continue the fight.

She was clearly as exhausted he was panting before him as well and eyeing him speculatively. She raised herself up standing to her real height and finally spoke. “I concede the match.” Senshi blinked in surprise, listening to the sudden uproar from all of the flamingos around him. He barely heard Hakku asking if Ganjo was sure that he wanted to forfeit. His clammy hands released the hilt of his tantos allowing them to slide back into their sheaths smoothly. He finally overcame his surprise, and relief at the match’s sudden end to pay attention to Hakku again. “It is decided, Ganjo of the Battle Flamingo’s has forfeited the match making Kobayashi Senshi the winner of this battle.” The cacophony of noises from the surrounding flamingo’s started up again.

A quick harsh wave of their leader’s wings brought them to a halt however. Senshi walked towards his blade picking her up and giving her a silent apology for throwing her. He quickly sheathed the weapon turning to face Hakku. His breathing was still labored and his heart was still pounding hard in his chest as he worked to calm himself down. He was exhausted from the long battle he had just finished and all the ones before that as well. Now he needed to regain his composure in order to have the discussion with the leader of the flock. The large bird looked down its beak at him with a serious work before finally addressing the Genin again. “Kobayashi Senshi you came here to work out an agreement to end our raiding of the local village. You have acquitted yourself in combat quite well and as such we will not only honor this request but also I have an offer.”

The large bird paused looking first at the Genin before looking at all of his flock. Though he knew several of the flock would be disappointed in his choice to accept the demands of the young Genin, they would respect it. It wasn’t like they had a food shortage anyways. He made eye contact with a bright green and black bird giving it a slight nod before speaking. “Kyoki, Hijoshikina, Kureiji, Yasei, and Ganjo come forwards.” As the five birds that he had defeated lined up behind him Senshi noticed that a bright green and black flamingo of a similar height to himself also walked up to Hakku. On its back was an exceptionally large scroll that it rolled out before them. Senshi could make out several bloody marks on it but couldn’t read it from his position. The five birds were arrayed behind him standing proud as they did so. Hakku looked down at the scroll before eyeing the boy before him speculatively again for several moments as thought debating his choice to actually give the offer he was considering. Though the boy had performed well he was rather young, and they were a flock unused to having a summoned even more. But regardless, this boy had earned their respect.

“Kobayashi Senshi we, the Battle Flamingos of the Black Forest would like to extend the option to become our summoned. We as a summoned race have not had a summoned in many years and in your display of prowess you have come to earn our respect. If you choose to accept the five behind you will become the core of your personal Battle Flock.” Senshi couldn’t help the slightly stunned expression that crossed his face turning to look at the birds behind him and then at all of the birds surrounding him. He knew it would be a grave insult if he choose not to accept but that didn’t actually play a part in his decision at all. He would be proud to be their summoned, and to call on the flamingo’s that he had battled with today to assist him in battle.

While he had earned their respect, they had equally earned his own as well. He gave a sharp nod and a slight bow before speaking, “Hakku-Sama I would be honored to be your summoned, and even more so to call these Battle Flamingo’s my flock.” The large bird nodded, a satisfied smile coming across its face as it gestured to the scroll rolled out by its feet with one of its massive wings. “Then come forwards and sign the scroll in blood, sealing our contract as allies.” Senshi nodded moving forwards, as he stopped at the edge of the scroll he knelt down examining the names that had come before him. Near the middle of the list he was surprised to see a surname that he recognized. Setsujinn. His family, or at least his mother’s family, had once been summonses of this contract before.

Senshi drew forth a kunai slicing his palm with it before dipping his other hand in the blood. In an elegant scrawl he effectively finger painted his name onto the scroll charging chakra through his hand as he did so. Once he had completed that he pushed himself up, grabbing part of one of the bandages he kept in his pouch to wrap his hand up before staring back up at Hakku. “All you must do now to summon one of us is give a small blood sacrifice and charge your chakra. Until then, Kobayashi Senshi represent us well.” Senshi nodded stiffly saying his good byes to not only Hakku but also his own personal flock. Before he could he was stopped by Ganjo however. She sketched him an elegant bow before speaking. “Senshi-same, as the leader of our battle flock you deserve a personal familiar. If you would be so kind as to grant me this privilege, I would like to serve as your familiar.”

Senshi eyed her for several moments, his face completely stoic and devoid of emotion. He was not yet a chuunin, and still he found himself in a leadership role. It would be best if he emulated the leaders he had, had in his life so far. With an elegant nod to the pink flamingo he acquiesced to her request. “I would be honored Ganjo-san to have you fight by my side.” She gave him what he was learning was the flamingo’s equivalent of a smile. With a quick thank you Senshi finally set off back towards the village. He was running much slower than he had been when he had headed out here due to his exhaustion and yet still he was making good time. He wondered how his Flamingo’s would do against Reizo’s otters, it was something he was curious to try out. He also wanted to show his team, and his Jounin commander his new ability. Partially to show off and partially to allow them to know what he was capable of.

He pushed these thoughts away as he arrived back in Kumogakure, it was already late the sun having set hours ago into his run. As he arrived home he placed the scroll of money that he had received for the weapons on the counter before heading to the shower. After a fast shower he spent several minutes cleaning and then rewrapping his wounds. He knew that tomorrow he would need to spend several hours on weapons maintence before he could begin training again, but he was suddenly more excited to press on with his training than before. Deciding to make a quick practice of it he formed the hand seals for the summoning jutsu and bit his thumb in the process. Putting his hands to the ground releasing his chakra, but only a small amount he was pleased when the smallest weakest member of his flock appeared. He quickly released the chakra he had used for summoning the small bird, not giving it a chance to speak before it disappeared. He was proud of his new ability and knew that his new allies would be able to support him in combat.

Your AP is 110 I believe. Here's how I calculated.

TWC 12, 712 - 1600 (8 stats) = 11, 112 ÷100 = 110 AP.

The additional 112 words cant go to AP as AP is earned at 2 to 200 wc. <3
