On one fine morning, Komori woke up before his twin brother Komon and decided to have some fun with his sleeping brother. He used his arms to push himself off of his bed, landing on his feet before realizing he should probably try to make as minimal noise as possible in order to prevent Komon from waking up. Komori gently walked over to a bookshelf on the opposite side of the room from his bed, and began looking for a book he had checked out on fuinjutsu that he had never returned from when he had decided to change his specialization to ninjutsu. He began to rifle through the first couple of chapters, which contained the easier E and D ranked techniques for something simple that he would be able to utilize. Komori stopped flipping pages once he had come across a page about a lock seal.

The book specified that one had to channel chakra into his or her index finger and draw a shape on the object which they wished to lock. Komori put the book face down on his bed, eager to try it. Komori silently opened his bedroom door and peered his head into the hall, where he heard the sound of Komon’s snoring. Komori then walked out into the hallway very stealthily, prepared to use his hydrification kekkei genkei in case he needed to quickly disappear or dodge Komon, should he try to hit Komori with some lightning based ninjutsu.

Komori walked up to the door of Komon’s bedroom and began channeling his chakra in the manner which the book had said. The index finger on his right hand lit up with a bright blue hue, which looked similar to fire. Komori then read the next passage in the book in order to know how to mark the door. After reading that the array had to be a circle six inches in diameter, Komori quickly yet quietly ran to his room to fetch some item he could use in order to measure length, just to be certain. His finger stopped glowing due to the loss of chakra concentration as he rummaged through his drawers in a hushed manner. However, as he was not able to find anything, Komori instead estimated how long six inches would be. He channeled chakra into his right index finger by drawing a line vertically across the door, then drew two half circles on either side to form a complete circle.

Komon woke up to a new day in the hidden cloud. He did not have to wake up as early as he normally did, as he had just finished his fourth exam and decided to take a short break from training in order to let his arms rest. His arms had come a long way in healing and Komon could not even feel pain in them after his last exam, but he especially did not want to risk causing injury to them again, so a one day break from training was what he had decided upon. As he got out of bed and rose to his feet, his stomach began to growl, apparently he was hungry.

Knowing his food was downstairs in a cabinet just waiting to be made, Komon smiled. Food often made him happy, and he was gonna make himself some waffles. Eagerly, Komon got dressed and made his way to the door of his room and began to turn the knob. Not expecting it to be locked he continued walking and was alarmed when his face slammed into the wooden structure. What the hell? He thought to himself. The door had never been locked in his entire life. Frustrated he used his byakugan to look through the wall only to see his brothers chakra signature across from him and a strange jutsu appearing on the door. So it’s another one of his pranks… I’ll just show him my jutsu then. Komon couldn’t help but grin as his hands began to weave the 11 symbols he had memorized for the chidori technique. And pulsated electricity to the palm of his hand before approaching the door with his palm extended.

Komori had been so preoccupied laughing after hearing his brother’s body collide with the door that he almost did not hear the sound of electricity sparking on the other side of the door. Komori stopped his laughter and turned himself into a puddle in order to slide under the door. However, his own seal stopped him from doing so, so instead Komori simply called out to his brother. “Is that chidori?! That sounds a lot like chidori!” Komori backed away from the door in case his brother decided to ignore him. “Komon, you should try to, you know, not destroy part of our house.” Komori instead looked down at the very seal he had placed. “I sort of don’t know how to break this yet. Let me see if the book has something to say about it. Until then, brother, try not to put your lightning infused fist through the door. Or me, for that matter.”

Komori quickly hustled to his room, where he had left the fuinjutsu book face down on his bed just moments earlier. He picked it up and began skimming the page regarding the lock seal, looking for the way to undo the seal which he had placed on the door to his brother’s room. He came across a section that stated, “In order to unlock this seal, the user should know Fuinjutsu Breaking. See page 325.” Komori flipped to the specified page only for the book to say, “This is the article for S-Rank level Fuinjutsu Breaking. Please turn back to page 267 for the page on A-Rank level Fuinjutsu Breaking.” Komori sighed, “I hate when books do this.” He then spent a few minutes switching between the various pages until eventually finding the page regarding E-rank level fuinjutsu breaking, which was the appropriate counter to the E-rank lock spell which he had placed. Komori took the open book in his hands and ran into the hallway to sit in front of the door in front of the spot where he had placed the lock.

He waited a moment in order to listen to the sounds of crackling electricity that could very well burst through the walls if Komori did not succeed, and even possibly manage to break the seal, despite being able to take the door with it. “I need you to stay calm, brother, are you staying calm?” It was more of a rhetoric question, as he instead worked on channeling chakra into the index and middle fingers of his right hand, as opposed to solely his index finger which was used for placing the seal in the first place. The selected fingers glowed blue with visible chakra as he placed them against the door. The lock seal had barely been visible as the seal had begun to fade away, however, the glowing blue fingers of Komori had caused the lock seal to grow brighter and shine in a matching shade of blue. He lifted his fingers off the door and traced the circular seal. The bright blue shape slowly began to fade away, as Komori cancelled out his flow of chakra to his fingers, letting the visible blue chakra fade away from himself as well.

Komon:
Komon deactivated his chidori at the request of his brother, still not happy, however, he would bang on his door every once in a while telling him to hurry up. His brother was not the best fuinjutsu user in the village by any means, as it was not his speciality, and it showed with the length of time it seemed to be taking him to undo this seal. WHAT IS TAKING SO LONG!!!!!! Komon thought to himself as his stomach continued to growl like a wild animal. About five minutes later however, Komon’s byakugan began to see the chakra that the seal was composed of fade as his brother’s chakra touched it.

The door to his room finally opened to which Komon stepped out and using his vastly superior speed slapped his brother in the back of the head. “Dumbass” he would say as he walked past him and down to the kitchen so he could make his waffles.

Komori rubbed the back of his head, as he felt the speed of the slap. His brother had gotten much faster than he realized. I’m further behind than I thought, he wondered silently in his mind. Looks like I’m going to need to pick up the pace. With that, Komori made a promise to himself to train more than he had been, as well as participate in the Village Hidden in the Cloud’s chuunin exams, in the hope of at least staying beside his brother. Watch yourself, brother, he thought to himself once more, I’m going to become stronger than you one day. He smiled to himself. Believe it.
