Komon made it about fifty yards give or take before a strange mist began to pour slowly through the hall, after just barely surviving an explosion when a clone had thankfully been in his place komon was needless to say less than enthusiastic about walking through it, especially due to the fact that even his byakugan couldn’t see through it, as the mist began to crawl closer Komon would take several steps back, and continue to do so if the mist continued its approach. Once at a safe distance he would again resort to his shadow clone technique to inspect the surrounding area. Forming the clone seal another carbon copy of him would make itself known to the world and walk nonchalantly into the mystery mist.

Once arriving in the mist the clone would begin to gather intel on it’s surroundings and the effects the mist had on the body while Komon watched closely from afar still dangling from the ceiling. But now deactivating his byakugan as it seemed to be serving no purpose. “Alright lets see what you do..” He’d say to the mist, with the lack of people showing up he desperately craved conversation, the mist would have to do.

Unfortunately, the same trick does not work twice, as soon as the clone is within two feet of the mist, it dissipates from the poisonous fumes.

Komon sighed, Apparently this exam had something against his shadow clones, and it looked like he was going to have to do this himself, with more than a little frustration he dropped down to the same place his clone that he had created just slightly earlier had been standing before entering that god forsaken mist. Intrigued he began to look closely at the mist and wonder what could have caused his shadow clone to disperse so effortlessly. After less than a second of thought the answer came to him.

“Poison”
He thought to himself as he began to prepare with his disposal of the mist, reaching into his back pouch and removing a single explosive tag while still looking foward, he was aware there were three enemy ninja still left in the arena and that this mist most likely didn’t appear on its own, however he was not one to waste ammunition and wasn’t going to treat this mist as if it had several enemy shinobi in it, he’d merely be prepared for the possibility.

His eyes were still fixated on the mist as he pulled out a kunai from the weapons pouch opposite to the one he had retrieved the tag from, before proceeding to attach the explosive onto the kunai, with his explosive now in hand he took about three steps back further distancing himself from the mist.

“Here goes nothing” he’d think to himself as he formed the four handsigns for the earth wall technique he had learned so long ago. The earth wall would rise at a speed and power equal to 65 and as it was rising Komon would throw an already lit explosive tag into the dense mist in front of him before the earth wall sealed the hallway in front of him separating him from the mist and making an air tight lock between him and it.

There was a slight delay before the kunai landed (Lets say anywhere from 3-5 meters from the girl, not enough to harm her as the the explosive tags only have a range of 1 meter) And then a muffled explosion could be heard from the other side of the wall, the force of the explosion would scatter the mist and if it attempted to go near Komon it would be met by a sturdy wall and be forced back deeper into the hall if not completely destroyed by the explosion.

Komon would wait about 2 seconds before lowering the wall and looking at the now hopefully empty hallway with a hand resting in the weapons pouch on his rear already gripping a kunai, in case he needed to act fast.

Though the earth wall shields you from the explosion, you have thrown an explosive into an unknown and - as it turns out - highly flamable gas. The remains of the little girl now lay plasterred all over your earth wall.

The explosion also opens up another network of passages. Eight possible routes lie ahead, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, X and Y. Which one do you choose?

After hearing the muffled explosion and waiting a couple seconds Komon began to lower his wall expecting to find a shinobi with hostile intent, the jutsu had been ominous and lethal, so it was rational to assume such a thing would happen. But what greeted him however was a sight he had not been expecting or wished for. On the floor where his earth wall had just been, laid the remains of what he could only assume where a little girl. “What the hell did she to get in a position such as this” Komon would think to himself while stepping over her. This exam was disgusting, he understood that the purpose was to show that they’d be willing to shed blood for their village and survive in actual combat, but there had to be a better way than this. He had just killed an eight year old… For a rank.

He’d make the mistake of looking back at the gruesome sight once more before noticing that the explosion had opened eight doorways. They were labeled one through six and x and y, he knew he could cut possibility of getting lost down by simply sending in two clones but he had a feeling that the proctors were already getting bored of that jutsu, so in stead he made the decision much like a child would. Eenie meenie miny moe, his hand landed on the X and he began to walk through the hallway cautiously, his katana already drawn in one hand, and a fuma shuriken in the other.

He had run into too many traps already and the remaining two shinobi would no doubt know he was on his way. He would be well prepared for a fight, he thought to himself as his byakugan scanned the hallway for potential traps, and he began to suppress his chakra from enemy combatants.

As you walk down route X a most foul stench overtakes you. You can choose to turn back and take another route. If you trudge ahead, the smell grows worse and is now accompanied by an eerie, deathlike chill.

Komon had made it about the same length as the first hallway of the exam before something once more stopped his progress, a disgusting stench seemed to be originating from down the hallway, and it was growing increasingly disgusting as he stepped closer. He knew at this point he could turn back, but also suspected that the stench may be coming from one of the remaining targets, desperately wanting to finish this exam he decided it was worth the risk but that he couldn't take the smell anymore. It was disgusting and distracting after all, and the last thing he needed right now was to be distracted.

Pulling the long sleeve shirt that rested under invictus off he would cut of the right sleeve, it was made of an expensive cloth and Komon couldn’t help but regret defacing it, but it was necessary. Using the sleeve he would wrap the cloth around the lower part of his neck and the bottom half of his mask. Once wrapped he would then tie it in place ensuring it rested in place without the need for him to hold it. The reason he had done so was to limit the amount of stench that could enter his mask, the cloth would act as a filter making it harder for him to breath but also ensuring that the smell distracted him to a much lesser extent.

Feeling ready he continued on still having both his katana and fuma shuriken drawn, and his byakugan still scanning for potential danger. The hallway no doubt had some surprises in store for him.

By continuing down the hall, you choose to continue subjecting your senses to the stench and chill. As you walk, you also start to feel tired, as if your legs are tons of bricks and will only move with great effort.

You struggle onwards, now completely trapped in the sensory based genjutsu that hangs in the air. As you struggle towards the end of the corridor, you note the figure of a stooped, little old lady clutching her cane and looking on the verge of tears.

Komon was completely unaware that he was caught in a genjutsu, and as he walked forward he noticed that he was beginning to feel exhausted, at a much faster rate than he had previously thought he was. Panicking he began to think about what might be causing this, it didn’t take too long before the stench of the hallway reminded him, his first thought was that it was some form of poison, a rational assumption, and that he had to get out of it and fast. However that wouldn’t be particularly easy as he could hardly move his legs at this point.

Frustrated with himself for falling for such an obvious trap he looked forward towards the end of the hallway and an old woman with a cane appeared, she looked like she was about to cry. Komon couldn’t believe it, first youka had made him kill a twin, and then a child, now it appeared his next opponent would be a frail elderly woman. “COME ON!” He’d say aloud, before drawing his kunai, he’d make direct eye contact with the woman as he did so before apologizing for what he was about to do, whatever she did to get here, he knew had been an awful crime. She had brought this on herself. While his legs where weighed down, his arms could still move with a decent amount of effort, although he was quickly feeling the effects spreading towards him.

He’d launch the kunai forwards down the narrow hallway while using the multi shuriken jutsu to make it replicate itself. In such a narrow space it would be all but impossible to dodge the onslaught of kunai heading her way. Komon couldn’t help but feel sorry for her, he would never know what she was crying about.
