"Anytime, it was my pleasure" the boy would say, making his way to where Hanabi stood. His right hand idly toyed with the vivid red scarf tied around his neck while he moved, pulling at the fabric is he spoke. "Thanks for the..."
Of course, his train of thought was interrupted as his memories took over his mind. Vivid images of glowing flowers, immaculate buildings, rolling plains. The sounds of howling wind, distant wings and steel slashing and sliding against steel. A girl with a red scarf and white hair stepping on his toes, pushing a blade to his throat. A sarcastic grin and a cheesy line, spurring on the ever present threat of death.
"...dance. Thanks for the dance, Hanabi." the boy would say, swallowing hard, the continuation of the sentence lost for all emotion. Clearing his throat, the boy would speak again, moving past Hanabi and placing his hands behind his head, his mind clear once more. "Maybe next time i'll have you fight my dragon. He'd be happy for the exercise." The ANBU would say, grinning at the thought of the giant magma beast running around the city, the purple haired kunoichi trying desperately to catch up to the lumbering dragon.
After passing the girl, Altar would make his way down to the shoreline, taking the Bladedancer book from his pocket and skimming through the pages. After a few seconds, a purple portal would appear and encompass Altar, the boy disappearing with the portal a mere second after it's appearance.

"Dragon?" Hanabi muttered under her breath as Altar passed her. She turned and watched him go, wondering about the emotion she'd heard in his voice. Ultimately he disappeared in the same way he'd arrived, and she was left alone. She wondered if she could get him to teach her the trick. It would be very useful to know, assuming she could ever get used to the feeling. It occurred to her then that she had no idea where it was they'd arrived to. The area had long been abandoned, reclaimed by nature some time ago, and it was completely unfamiliar to her. She wished the more experienced shinobi had offered her a ride back to the academy.
That night she would think a lot about all that had transpired that day. Everything she had learned, and what she had somehow been inducted into. It had been an eventful beginning to her career as a ninja, and it would leave her feeling both excited and afraid. But for now she just wanted to find her way home. The kunoichi wandered off in search of a path to her destination, a feat that would take a while. Once she had started she didn't really mind the journey, as she had always enjoyed quiet places. In fact, she thought, she wouldn't mind coming back here to train someday.
