Weird ideas and weirder reasons (P, Sora)

(next time, it helps to calculate out the power and ap costs of techs. if i didn't bother calculating the power of temporary paralysis out, i could have just tried to break free.)

Sora may or may not have been surprised by this, but his punch would land dead on. Rip Jeisuta. Almost.

Fortunately, the punch would do little, but he did suspect the other had forgotten the meaning of a hand to hand fight. Oh well.

Jeisuta knew exactly what had happened too, having started training the same tech before. Of course, if his mouth was allowed to speak, he would have said as much, but eh, he could do with a handicap given how the first exchange went.

Of course, just as his opponent knew his speed, he knew Sora's as well. It was a simple but logical guess, to assume that the motion he abruptly pulled off at much greater speed, was the one he had seen so many others do that went beyond his line of sight, his reaction speed. It obviously helped him a lot, that one motion was easily at least twice as fast as Jeisuta's own fastest movements. However, it was clearly visible to Jeisuta, and he now had a very good idea of Sora's maximum speed.

Unfortunately when Sora asked his question, Jeisuta was unable to move for a good while. After some time more than a post's worth lol, Jeisuta would reply "You certainly did surprise me, but I had assumed I was only helping you in one way. Shall we go at it again, this time, purely hand to hand? I do believe neither of us is strong enough to break jutsu, so if we are to get stronger as ninjas, we need to train our bodies as well."

If Sora agreed, Jeisuta would back away to about ten meters away, again. He also made a mental note to not look Sora in the eyes when they were sparring.

Sora pulls back his arm after seeing it hit his target. Sora was proud of himself for being able to use a jutsu without Ayato's help. Also, he prediction on his power not doing much to Jei was right. Sora felt as if his predictions have been more keen after becoming a ninja and practicing with Ayato.

Then, after Jei was freed from Sora's jutsu, Jei asked for a real hand to hand fight, no jutsus. He didn't like the idea 100% but he was willing to try. "I guess then i will combat you with the power of fists." He accepts, the informs, "I'm not the best with my fists and kicks." 

After accepting Jei's offer, he got in a pose with his right arm behind his left and clenched his fist, like a boxer. Then noticed his robe might get in the way of their spar, so he stripped himself from it, then got back into his pose from before.

"Don't mind the hair, I'm really going to be stretching it out now, my control is getting better, so I will be expanding the range of siad control now. Mostly like, upwards or out above our heads or something. Oh, and it doesn't matter if you are not the best at direct fighting, the point is to get stronger and better bro. You don't wanna be caught without your chakra active, and be helpless!"

Jeisuta grinned. So did the hair on his head, which had been forming itself into a massive cheshire grin, looped up far above his head.

While Sora might be getting faster, Jeisuta was definitely going to have his hands fully, trying to maintain balance with all that hair on his head. Extending his hair out, the hair would stretch towards the tree lines, extending out to a good 39.5 meters from his head in every direction that was pointing above his head. He swore to god if a frigging raccoon tried to walk on his hair, he would give it a piece of his mind. As it was, the individual strands of hair held a gossamer kind of quality to them, since their thinness and lack of numerical superiority impacted rather severely how they reflected light. From a distance, it would look like the hair had formed into a sort of webbing, with Jeisuta as its center, a lightly colored speck of dark matter surrounding his head, thinning out the farther away from the epicenter you looked.

Then.

You guessed it.

A frigging raccoon.

You can bet your pretty heads that that hair retracted in a hurry, wrapping itself around the critter and gently lobbing it through the air, towards a set of bushes. At least, Jeisuta liked to think so. A lack of a squeal implied as such, but there was also a lack of a crunch of the underbrush. So it could be assumed the raccoon was still flying through the air and not of its own volition. Or it was a ninja raccoon or something. Meh.

It was blindingly apparent when Jeisuta partially uprooted one of the trees entirely by accident, that his hair had gotten quite a lot stronger, and it had power behind it as well. Obviously, the hair had also gotten tangled in the tree limbs, but that is besides the point. It was obvious that the Art of the Raging Lion's Mane was largely trained, and as such, Jeisuta was going to be able to move on to the next jutsu. Which he would prepare for now.

Taking a kunai, he swiftly dragged together a pile of loose brush, the next jutsu could get a little dangerous, and he wanted a back stop. When he had finished, he used the kunai to cut the extra hair off, bending down and taking a moment to carry the close ends away so they would not get in the way. People never thought about what to do after the jutsu ended, huh?

Now that he had cleaned up, he could practice his next jutsu, and get ready for Sora.

Returning to his previously intended position around ten meters away from Sora, the whole process having taken around 15 seconds, he would assume a boxing stance as well.

"Ready."

"Ready?" Jei asked after his embarrassing moment with raccoon and his hair. Seeing his hair being able to wrap around the smaller raccoon he predicted that that was the jutsu ability, entrap the opponent. Sora could let that happen so he had to stay away from his hair's reach. He also had the thought of using his hair against him. Sora knew that if someone pulled on your hair that it would hurt like hell. He also thought about using the length to hair to entangle him, but there was still so much unknown to make a clear next move. He nods as his answer to Jei's question.

He figured that he was supposed to be the first one to attack. Sora first threw a punch at Jei's middle section. 

If Jei caught the punch, like Sora figured he could do, he would use the grip from him catching the punch to boost himself upward to kick Jei's head. 

If Jei jumped back in a reaction, then Sora would just do the same.

Sora was right, given how telegraphed his punch was it was easy for Jeisuta to intercept his punch Especially since it was not very directed. He wanted to see what else Sora would do.

As Sora was trying to jump upward, it was obvious that he was partially supporting himself on Jeisuta's hand, the one that had caught Sora's fist. The more boring way to deal with this would have been to simply let go of Sora's fist, and let him plummet all of about two feet. However, that would not have been too interesting. Jeisuta would not have bothered jumping back either, that would be boring too.

Sora began jumping upwards. Since it was a kick aimed at Jeisuta's head, it was most likely with his knee, given that he would have to otherwise push his leg through Jeisuta's body or kick somehow from far to the side. Jeisuta would feel the weight pressing down on his hand - precisely being Sora's bodyweight and then some, since he was leaving the ground. He would yank his right hand (that being the one that caught Sora's unspecified fist) to his left abruptly at full speed, at the same time pushing Sora's hand forwards. Unless Sora had a way to balance amid sudden changes in balance without warning, he would likely topple forwards and to the sides, preventing him from reaching Jeisuta as effectively with his leg. If Sora toppled forwards, counter to the direction of his knee, he probably would have little force behind it - it would only be able to hit Jeisuta at the end of his range and without a stable platform to apply force off of.

A good idea though.

Honestly, Jeisuta was not sure if the other kiddo would fall over sideways or towards Jeisuta or what.

Sora wasn't every good with tai jutsu, or had much training with it. When Jei moved his fist, Sora toppled on his side. He landed on his left arm, his face scrunched up in pain. Since its was only very minor pain, Sora recover. He got up. "I apologize for my ignorance in the fighting style." 

Now Sora was on the the right side of Jei. He got back into his stance, seeing if Jei would pick to continue the fight or stop there and maybe help Sora learning some taijutsu.

"Nah bro, don't worry man, experience you only get one way. That was certainly a creative attack though!"

Jeisuta grinned at Sora.

"Next time though, try to not give your opponent a handy tool to manipulate your body with. Try to give them something they won't understand in time to react."

Of course, Jeisuta did not know about metagaming, but that is beyond the purview of this narrative, isn't it.

Since Sora had gotten back up, Jeisuta adjusted his stance, facing Sora at a slight angle, his right foot slightly forward this time, his shoulders squared with his arms into a boxing stance. His legs slightly bent, Jeisuta said "One more time? We can look at jutsu if you prefer, though it is important to practice sparring as well. You need something if you are caught without weapons or the stamina to use jutsu."

Sora thought about doing more sparring with Jei but he then thought it might be better to spar with someone in the same weight group. Sora loosed up and dropped his arms at his sides. "Maybe another time, would you be able to work with me in any jutsu?" Sora said looking Jei in the eyes with his blank stare. Sora thought maybe the fellow genin could teach him a thing or two in ninjutsu as that was Sora preferred type of thing to learn. He knew that even if the genin didn't have the same element as him he could work with him with non element jutsu. Maybe he could teach me the same thing that he's doing with hair, I'm guessing hair isn't a elemental jutsu, Sora thought.

Sora ears perked as he heard his name being call, he guessed it was his grandparents. He puts his fists down, "I have to go, thanks for your time." He escapes by using the body flicker technique. Before he leaves for good, he looks at the genin again. Sora told himself that he would see Jei again then left for good.

Rip. "Alright bro, catch you later." Jeisuta waved cheerily and went back to messing with his Lion's Mane jutsu hair technique. Mostly be using it to practice punching and kicking, because he was not feeling particularly imaginative at the moment. When he felt he was done, he would leave.
