Getting the Chameleon Contract
Thu Mar 23, 2017 3:07 am
Akemi woke up in his bed, feeling incredibly refreshed. He had spent all of yesterday learning the seven heavens breathing method and it had left him feeling extremely tired and fatigued. Though, it had still been worth it, the seven heavens breathing method was incredibly powerful. While still in bed, Akemi gazed absently around his room, enjoying the amazing reaction time that being a Hiyu granted him. For as long as Akemi could remember he had always been incredibly strong and seemed to see everything in slow motion. This making him much stronger than most kids his age but still considered weak compared to multiple bullies who where older than him.
Akemi had been told from a young age that he was a Hiyu clan member by his parents. Both his mother and father were part of the clan, something that was apparently very rare, especially considering they were both 'pure bloods'. They were both descended from families that believed that the Hiyu clan bloodline should not be diluted into society and instead, kept secret and safe. Ever since Akemi had been little his parents had tried to train him to use the jutsu, but for some reason he could never seem to do it. He did, however, excel in the clan's taijutsu. The reason he couldn't perform the jutsu was probably due to his young, underdeveloped chakra system.
Akemi got out of bed. Yesterday, before going to bed, he had heard about something called a 'summoning contract'. Though, he hadn't thought about it much, due to how tired to think about how significant it was. Now that he was feeling refreshed and awake, it seemed like a good idea. He had picked up a scroll about it last night so he realised he should probably get it. As Akemi got out of bed he wondered what kind of summoning race he would get. Preferably, it would be a type of front line fighter or a stealth one. If Akemi remembered correctly a summon race could be any size. He almost laughed at the thought of an ant beating up a person.
Once Akemi was out of bed he quickly scooted around and performed his usual morning routine. Have a shower, get dressed, brush teeth, breakfast. As his hand touched the door handle Akemi realised that he almost forgot his bo staff, quickly hurrying back, Akemi grabbed his bo staff, put it on his back, and left his apartment. Stepping outside, Akemi realised he had no idea where to start looking for a summoning contract. He mulled over this question as he walked through Hoshi, unable to come up with a decent answer, Akemi just walked and hoped for the best.
Suddenly, it hit him, the best place to look for a summoning contact was probably the wildlife reserve! Quickly changing directions, Akemi started heading off in the direction of the reserves. He came to this conclusion because of the numerous races and species there, if there were that many species, why shouldn't there be a summoning race as well? Besides, if a summon race wanted to remain hidden and inconspicuous the wildlife reserves would definitely be the best place to look.
After a few minutes of walking Akemi eventually made it to the entrance of the wildlife reserves. Not wasting any time, Akemi quickly entered through the gates.

Re: Getting the Chameleon Contract

As Akemi entered the woods, he inserted his hand into his weapon pouch and wrapped his hand around his kunai, so he would be prepared for any kind of attack. He felt a little uneasy, like thousands of eyes were watching him. He had never felt anything like this when he had entered the wildlife reserve before, why should he be feeling it now? Not feeling particularly safe, he activated his chakra suppression, just in case.
Uneasily, Akemi walked through the woods, his hand still wrapped around the kunai. If worse came to worse, Akemi would use his bo staff, he needed to practice with it anyway. Sweat began to form on his brow, he normally felt safe in these woods, but not this time. This time, he was scared. Though, despite everything, Akemi still thought that was a good sign. Maybe some kind of summon race had moved into the woods. Add that to the fact that he couldn't see anything, it must mean that they were incredibly stealthy. Something that Akemi had been looking for.
Suddenly, Akemi heard a rustling noise in the bushes to the left of him. In one swift motion, he flung his hand, that was still gripping the kunai, towards the sound. Making the kunai whizz through the air before landing with a loud crack as it went stuck through the bark on the tree.
Akemi stood, ears intently listening for any more sounds, his panicked heartbeat thudded in his ear drums. Nothing happened for a few minutes, the forest seemed to stand still. Not even the sound of the wind could be heard bristling through the trees. Nothing but an eerie silence.
After wracking up the nerve, Akemi walked up to the bush and retrieved his kunai from the tree bark, inspecting it for any damage. Finding nothing, he inserted his kunai back into it's pouch and instead took his Staff from his back and gripped it with both his hands tightly. Suddenly, a voice echoed around the trees.
"What do you hope to achieve in these woods?" an eerie voice echoed around "We have been watching you for quite a while, you interest us. You have the ability to sneak around quite effectively but you choose to train in strength and speed? What do you hope to achieve from this?"
Akemi opened his mouth to speak but realised something. The voice had a point, Akemi was quite a strange mix. Something he didn't really know about himself. Akemi hoped to someday be a front line fighter, why was he training in stealth? He pondered this question for a while, unable to answer the question. Suddenly, one dawned upon him.
"I hope to someday be a front-line fighter, become renowned for my strength and speed. But i also want to be able to avoid people and become feared for my ability to become undetectable as well. If one were to rely solely on their sneak ability then they would probably become compromised quickly because if they somehow get caught then they will be unable to defend themselves and will most surely, perish." Shouted Akemi, directed towards the disembodied voice. A creepy chuckle replaced the sound of the forest.
"Well said, perhaps you do have what it takes to become our summoner." chuckled the voice "Now lets see if you can survive phase two." As soon as the voice said this a small needle, about the size of Akemi's thumb, appeared from the bushes, aiming for Akemi's head.
Due to the Hiyu cells in his body he could see this needle clearly and thus, plan his next course of action. It was at times like these when Akemi really thanked his genes. Being a Hiyu granted him an increased perception of attacks, something that would most probably be extremely useful in this thing called 'phase two'. To dodge the needle Akemi simply side stepped and let the needle whizz harmlessly past him. Looking frantically for the next needle.
This time, he didn't see the needle, but he still heard something firing it. So he side stepped again and watched another needle go past him.
"Seems you won't have any problem with these needles, what if we were to crank it up a notch?" Said the disembodied voice. Immediately after the voice said this, several needles appeared from the trees, all heading towards Akemi. Swiftly, Akemi jumped and curled his body into a ball at the same time, making the needles pass underneath him and above him. Then, as soon as they passed him another needle shot at him. Given the fact that Akemi was in the air at this time, he was severely limited in ways he could deal with this problem.
Once the needle had reached 10m away from Akemi, he pulled out his staff and held it tightly. The moment the needle reached 1m away from him he swung the Staff around in an arc and redirected the needle to pass him.
"Very nicely reacted to. Though, never jump again, it limits your manoeuvrability severely and normally gives the enemy a free hit. Next time you jump, we wont go so easy on you." Said the voice.
Akemi nodded, at the moment, he had yet to feel tired. Though, if the voice was correct, his opponents were definitely holding back quite a lot. Something he would have to watch out for was if the needles suddenly changed speed or power. He realised that if he wanted to have a better chance of survival he would have to pull out all the stops.
Before anymore needles appeared, Akemi put his hands into a hand seal and took a deep breath, causing a flickering yellow aura to appear around him and his eyes to go white. Akemi loved the seven heavens breathing method, the feeling of empowerment he got from it was amazing. Two more needles appeared on either side of Akemi, which, were nor seemingly moving slower than a snail. Due to the extreme power boost that the seven heavens breathing method gave him. Akemi simply stepped forward and dodged the two needles, his yellow aura whipping up leaves all around him.
"Very good, now dodge this!" Shouted the voice and suddenly, a cloud of metal needles appeared from the trees, almost blocking the light from the sun. Akemi looked up at them, mouth agape. These needles were a lot faster than the usual ones, not to mention there were lots more now.
Not wasting any time, Akemi began moving backwards, eyes not leaving the huge storm of metal death needles. If the needles followed their current trajectory then they would land all around him, making it almost impossible to dodge by simply moving out the way. Akemi thought of an idea, it was reckless, but it would probably be the best way to deal with this situation. So, he enacted his plan.
He jumped. Yes, jumped towards the storm of needles, swinging his bo staff in a circle above him, causing quite a large wind storm to effectively push the needles away from his position. Suddenly, a needle travelling way faster than any needle he had seen before came rushing towards him. Akemi then remembered what the voice had said 'Next time you jump, we wont go so easy on you'. His eyes widened in realisation, it looked like this needle was going to hit him. The needle hit him in the lower stomach and he fell to the floor in a crumpled mess.
Akemi awoke several hours later, it was already starting to grow dark around him. Feeling light-headed he sat up and looked around bleary eyed. His memories came back to him and he sighed, he failed whatever test this summon race had given him. He had gone against one of the demands the voice had said and now he was on the floor. He heard a chuckling echo around the woods.
"You.... Pass!" laughed the voice, Akemi must have heard that incorrectly did he say that i pass? "You may be confused boy, but you showed determination and guts, you even show a great aptitude for stealth. Therefore, i welcome you to our ranks."
Suddenly, hundreds of small chameleons materialised around Akemi, along the floor, on the trees, everywhere. He jumped, where had they been hiding?
"We are of the Chameleon race, we mainly specialise in stealth and espionage, do you wish to sign our contract?" said the voice. Akemi nodded, these Chameleons were exactly what he was looking for. Upon his nodding a scroll appeared in front of him, since he had read up on the summoning technique earlier he knew what to do.
Bringing out his kunai and pricking each of his fingers he pressed the bleeding finger tips onto a blank space on the scroll. When he moved his hand off it, the scroll glowed golden for a few seconds before disappearing in a cloud of smoke.
"Congratulations, you have now been indoctrinated into our clan, when you get the chance, please summon our contract holder and he will inform you on how to start summoning our clan. Though, you should probably get some sleep, our poison tends to do that to people." Akemi nodded, he was indeed feeling incredibly tired. As the chameleons all disappeared he breathed a sigh of relief and looked up at the night sky, today had been a good day.
