Sakana's Path to Chuunin pt 3 (V2) (Maku Edition)
Sun Apr 09, 2017 9:09 pm
It was a nice day out, the sun was shinning, the wind was blowing and the water was just the perfect temperature. Well pretty much every temperature was perfect temperature for the gennin due to his Meijin bloodline. Sakana spent the beginning part of his morning swimming in the lake, and watching his water clones just from the tallest trees to see who could fall from the highest tree into the lake without disappearing. So far clone one was winning by diving a whole 3 meters higher than clone one. Clone two tried to make a daring move and climb 4 meters above where clone one had last jumped from. He looked at the ground one last time and jumped from the tree. Sakana watched as he was falling… falling… SPLAT! He hit the ground on the outside edge of the lake, it would have been a gory sight had it not be a clone made of water, instead the clone hit the ground and tuned into water. Well the game is now over, the fun is over. The Meijin dispelled the winning water clone as it was doing a victory dance.
Sakana got out of the water. It was the second day since he had been back from the war, he knew he should have went and reunited with everyone in the village the day before but he did need a personal day. So now that he had a lazy day it was probably time to get back to town. His first stop would be his own home. Kaigo was probably worried sick that he had been gone so long with no contact from him. So it was time to head back to town. Step by step he dragged himself down the familiar path, he got to thinking about things. The first one being his disappointment in having to leave Komon, he was supposed to do his third chuunin prelim with him but due to the unforeseen circumstances that would have been put on halt. Now he could wait for him to return but that could take months and he really did not want to wait months. So since he was refreshed and had done some training the day before he could go take it today at the testing center. He would not be as fun as having Komon proctor but it would have to do due to unforeseen circumstances.
Sakana was slowly approaching the village, he waved high to some people that he knew, as he approached the entrance way to Kaigo’s shop. It still had the same creaky wooden door it had always had. The Meijin had been telling him to get it fixed but he would never budge. A warm feeling flooded over him as he heard the familiar sound of the bell that he had heard every morning for the past years, and the smell of the food made him so Hungary. He say Kaigo making food in the back.
“Hey Kaigo, I am back.” His voice came out kind of scared due to the fact that he had not talked to him before he had left for the war.
Kaigo dropped the bowl of food he was making as he turned around. “Sakana, you are back so soon? I thought you went with the warlord to become a solider?
Well it was good he did not sound made at Sakana so that was a good sign. “I was in the hidden rain village for a few days, I got sent back home though so I guess I am sticking around for a while. Sorry for having Julie tell you I was leaving.”
“That is ok, just next time you better tell me before you leave, I would have sent you with enough food to last the war.”
The Meijin laughed at that. “You got it Kaigo, I am actually going to head out once I finish my food so I can meet up with Julie.” While he was eating, he told Kaigo all about his experiences he had. Once he was done he headed in the direction of the door.
The trip to Julie’s caused butterflies in his stomach, he was worried on what he was going to say to her, as he had left abruptly about a week ago. Her housed looked the same as ever as he knocked on the door. Julie opened it in her usual pajamas as it was a Saturday morning. “Sakana you are back.” She would yell aloud as she hugged him.
“Yeah I am back, sorry for making you tell Kaigo I was leaving, listen I would love to hang out here with you but I do have an exam to go take so we will meet up later. I just wanted you to know I was ok.”
She explained that she was sad he could not hang out but she understood why. So Sakana headed toward the training center. On his walk there it had occurred to him that he did not schedule an appointment and would just arrive abruptly. He hoped for the best as he went on his way. It was only 6:30 am and the training center did not open till seven so he would take the scenic route towards the building. The scenic route included lots of trees, and wildlife, well a few squirrels and lots of bugs but it was nice none the less. The trees in the cloud were always dripping due to the atmosphere. It was like a mini rainforest, Sakana smiled every time a rain drop would fall on him. As he exited the scenic route and approached the buildings he began to think.
There was no telling who his exam proctor would be now, most likely it would be someone he had never met before, probably a jounin. Although he wondered if he would be allowed a walk in appointment due to the shortage of ninja because they were all out in the war. Sakana wondered if he would be able to become a chuunin before the war had ended if he would be shipped out. Maybe he would get to reunite with Komon and Komori and show them all the new stuff he would learn.
The building was smaller than than the other two training centers. The gennin wondered why. Why did this exam require less space than the other ones? Was it because there was no fighting involved? Or was it because he needed to learn to fight in an area of sorts? The only way he would be able to find out is by entering the door.
Before he entered he headed around the side to mentally prepare himself as well as stretch out. In his head he was going over the possibilities of how he would fight. He remembered something Komon was saying to him about Taijutsu and the third exam. Was the fight only taijutsu? In that case Sakana would have a tough fight ahead because he does not know many taijutsu techniques. But while his strength was lacking he was not only fast in physical speed but in mind too. He hoped that would allow him to win. Well was he supposed to win? He was going against a jounin. There were two ways this could go down, the jounin could beat the crap out of him and the test would be to see how many hits Sakana could take or, it the jounin could go easy on him and it would test his fighting skills.
If he was ever to be a good shinobi he needed to learn to fight, the only fight he had ever been in was when Senshi and Komon took him out to capture some temple robbers, he had trapped one in a water prison and then knocked him out. But that robber was not a ninja and did not know how to fight. So this would be his first real fight. This would test his ninja abilities. This would show everyone that Sakana Meijin is able to hold his own in a fight. He tried to think back to when Komon and Komori had taken their exams but he could not really recall any of the details, he was not even sure he knew them back then. Damn he missed them right about now. He might have to go months without seeing his team, well not if he became a chuunin. If he became a chuunin he would be able to meet up with them and help with the war effort.
As he was thinking about all this he was stretching out so he could be in his best shape for his fight. He basically only ever did the basic stretches taught in the academy. First you stretch out your arms. Pulling one arm to the side and holding for thirty seconds, then repeat with the other arm. Second would be stretching your legs out by pulling one leg up and then the other. The last two stretches were not really stretches but more things that loosened you up in order to make you faster. For punching exercises you get into a horse riding stance and do one hundred punches in front of you. Pretending there was someone in front of you and that you were punching their nose every time. The last practice he would do was kick practice. Kick practice was just doing ten kicks on each leg of various types of moves. The ones Sakana did was, front kicks, side kicks, roundhouse kicks, and back kicks.
After he was done with his mini training session he headed toward the door. These doors were made of steel, cold steel. A shiver went up the Meijin’s spine as he opened the door slowly. Inside was a room with a few chairs and the front desk. Sakana seemed to be the only one there beside the person sitting at the desk. As he walked up to the desk he started to ask if he could take his third chuunin preliminary. He explained that he did not have an appointment and the reason was that he had just returned from the war. The woman behind the desk listened intently as his three days in the war was probably much more interesting than her desk job.
She explained that they usually did not do walk in appointments but since she had heard his story out and there was no one else on the list today he could take it. She quickly went over the rules. It was to be a taijutsu only exam. And he would be in a 5 by 5 meter room. There was someone already awaiting inside for him and all he had to do to begin was walk through the door.
So that was all there was too it, walking through that door would put him on the path to chuunin. No matter what happened, he would make it a good fight. There was no way he was not going to pass this exam, falling this exam would only set him so far back. So he walked up to the door that the desk lady had pointed out and he started to push it open.
Inside the room it had looked exactly as the desk lady had described it, it was a room that was five by five meters, the room was a silver color, so it was most likely made of metal, something that would not break if it got punched or kicked…. Or if someone got thrown into a wall. Upon walking into the silver room the door would shut behind him. There was no turning back now. It was game time. Sakana took a step forward and started to stare at the person at the other side of the room, he would await for them to either talk or make the first move as no other rules had been set.

Shit.......What was I I here for? The kumo nin placed his head in his hands, and willed the world to take pause for a moment. So much had happened, could they blamed him if he drank a little now and then? What did they even understand about anyway?! So many had assimilated, so many had died......He hadn't. he hadn't had that luxury. No, what he got was some shitty position training genin, and the morning glory of seeing his wife on a spike in the field of nightmares. Yet....he was supposed to just take it.
Standing he felt himself sway a little. Grabbing a half empty bottle he took a long drink. The liqour burning his throat, he could feel the vomit rise as his stomach protested. Swallowing hard, he kept the emesis at bay. His eyes kept going cross, but in a span of little time that also could have been a long time he made it to his destination. Making his way through the training area, he made it inside the cell, or training room, and to some a coffin. He took another several drinks before hurling the empty glass bottle at the wall making a lovely shattering sound.
As he took deep breaths he also lost the fight with his stomach, emptying its contents on the floor in front of him. Side stepping he pulled a flask from his hip. "Hair of the dog!" He would shout to no one. It was as this echo died, a boy entered the room. Looking him up and down, he would smile. "Lets get frisky snowflake...." He would take a decisive step forward and vomit all over for the second time, looking up and whipping the sick from his mouth.

Upon further inspection in the room, Sakana noticed two things, the first being the shards of glass on the floor in front of the man. The shards of glass only encompassed about a fourth of the room, on the opposite side that the gennin was on, it surrounded his exam proctor. The Meijin would have to stay clear of the glass. The second thing he noticed was that there was a pile of vomit right in front of the man. Was this guy sick or something, would he be able to fight Sakana?
The gennin knew that this fight would have to start sometime, so he started to take a step forward, he stopped as his opponent also took a step forward. His proctor had thrown up again. Seriously what was this guy’s deal. Sakana was thinking in his head.
The boy put his hands up, ready to defend himself as he took a few steps forward, he was now one meter into the room, as his proctor was one meter in the room on the opposite side, leaving a three meter gap between them.
Sakana wanted to bring the fight to his side of the room in order to stay away from all the vomit and glass so he wanted for the ninja to come to him.

The kumo values where weak in this one t seemed. Pulling a flask from his sleeve he took another drink, staring into the boys eyes as he downed it. Letting it fall, the second it hit the ground and klinked he made his move.
A couple decisive steps where all it took to close the distance. If the boy wanted him to come to him, then that was fine. A feint right punch was thrown to catch him off guard before he shot in for a double leg takedown. His right leg led, placing his head on the boys right side. If able to grab him by the legs, his lead leg would drag through, allowing him to press the boy to his right and taking the fight to the ground.

Sakana had finally figured out why his exam proctor was so sick, he watched the man drink something out of a flask. So he was fighting a drunk guy? Well that was just perfect, depending on how much the man had to drink, and Sakana had presumed it was a lot, that should mean the man’s senses were dulled but he could not take any risks such as letting his guard down. He had to assume that his opponent was a highly skilled shinobi who was there in order to give him a good fight in order to prove he is worth of the rank of chuunin.
The ninja let the flask fall from his hand, it started to come crashing down as he started to step towards Sakana. This was it, this is where the real fight would begin. The man was nimble on his feet, his decisive steps perfectly dodged every shard of glass on the ground, if they were not about to start a battle Sakana would try and ask him how he accomplished such a feat. The man would try and throw a punch with his right hand at Sakana, since he was leading with his right leg, the Meijin would step forward with his left leg so that his body would be facing the man’s back. During his step he would throw an inside to outside block with his right hand and a closed fist at a strength of 31 and a speed of 76, knocking the proctors hand away from the gennin.
Now if that defense attempt was successful, Sakana would have his left leg leading, with his right leg adjacent to the man’s leading right leg. The gennin would be facing the man’s back to which he would initiate the chain fist. The Meijin would throw four closed hand attacks at the man’s back. Each having 46 strength and 86 speed.

Re: Sakana's Path to Chuunin pt 3 (V2) (Maku Edition)

The flask had done its job. Luckily Terry could drink at 300 speed, and his body absorbed the alcohol at 300 speed as well. His liver could only filter alcohol at a speed of 20, so he had plenty of time to maintain his current state of inebriation. The world went a touch hazy, and inside his head some soft jazz music had started to play. The world was full of mud, blood, and shit. This happy place was where he really felt at home. Everything started to flow, and the fact his initial punch failed mattered little.
The rigidity of his body would appear to loosen if the other shinobi had a keen insight in the finite subtleties of body posture and taijutsu. However, this probably would be interrupted by his next move. Using the man’s counter, Terry would feel his punch pushed to his left. Pulling his body in that direction as the starting point, he would completely spin as the man made the rest of his movements.
The spin would lead to a spinning back heel kick. His kick was aimed to hit the boys jaw about the same time he would prep his first punch. His motions following in key with the man’s own, meaning his original course would stay mostly true, giving him very little time to react. His own movements being drunk and unpredictable would make it even harder for the man to react.
Should the kick land, he would drag all the way through before pulling up his knee and raising his hand in a karate kid crane position as the boy would undoubtedly have hit the ground from the downward force. He would start to stagger, forcing him to put his other foot down. His swaying getting more and more pronounced, watching the genin and singing a song in his head.

The initial part of his strategy worked, everything was going according to plan when he blocked the man’s punch. But what he did not account for was when the man started to spin with the block. All Sakana had intended was to move his arm out of the way but this plan backfired when the man used that momentum to launch an attack. He was moving so fast all Sakana could see was a blur as the man’s leg lifted off the ground. Instead of his chain fist punches going through as he had planned, he was greeted with a huge pain in his jaw. His proctor had kicked him in the face.
The Mejin fell towards the side of the room that the proctor started on, if he was weaker this would’ve been the part where he was knocked out or quit but he had to keep fighting. As he was falling his hands were already in front of them so he put his forearms up so that he would not hit his head on the ground. During the fall he noticed the shards of glass in front of him, while he would not fall on the glass he got an idea. He was not as fast as the man or as strong but the glass could slow him down long enough for Sakana to form an attack.
As the man was still in his crane stance Sakana would pick himself up and pick up two shards of glass in one fluid motion. As the man was stumbling back, he was less than a meter away from the gennin, who would throw two shards of glass, one from each hand, at his proctor. The shard of glass in his left hand would be aimed at the left side of the man’s chest and the one in his right hand would be aimed at the right side of his chest, so that if he tried to dodge in either direction he would still be hit. Since they were so close to each other this would give his opponent very little time to dodge since the shards of glass would be thrown at 93 speed and 93 power. Should either of the shards of glass hit his body blood would be drawn, or if the man tried to catch the glass his hand would bleed.
When the man was distracted by the glass Sakana would initiate the leaf whirlwind attack in which there would be one fake out kick to the man’s face and then a low kick would be aimed at the man’s knee hopefully kicking it out which in turn would knock the man down. This kick would be thrown at 46 strength and 91 speed, the gennin would use his right leg.

As the man stumbled the genin seemed to have learned how to use his surroundings. Impressive and necessary. The proctor sort of picked up on this, but he was also pretty drunk, so he was also not thinking about much at all. Only one action would do for dodging this attack. Ancient secret technique, of the drunk fall from standing height.
Using his stumble he fell right back, vertical to horizontal as only a drunk can do. Don't try this at home kids this write has seen many a cervical fracture from this very motion, but luckily that doesn't happen in anime and stuff so gonna be just fine.
Falling back at full speed his right would upper cut up so his fist would be pointed at the ground. The projectiles were aimed to hit him for a side to side dodge, yet he had again done the unpredictable and went back. The leaf cutter would blast the ground shredding the surface, and projecting him straight back up as the glass had already zoomed past.
Hitting back up due to his un orthodox use of his technique he would start running full speed at his opponent(half cause rules but you get it). His left foot would lead stepping right on the glass, causing it to slide forward. His right hand coming in for a solid body blow before following through tackling the genin fully into the wall.

Sakana twisted, throwing the glass at the man. The trajectory of the throw was perfect the glass was flying in the air on track to nail the man in the shoulder, but somehow his proctor did the unthinkable. He simply fell backwards in order to dodge the glass. No person in his right mind would just fall back like that but he was not in his right mind, he was drunk, super drunk. Logically you would think that the man would have hit the ground hard and been hurt from the impact right? Or . . . At the least immobilized well then you would be wrong. Instead of hitting the ground and giving the gennin the chance to attack him, he miraculously punched the ground and was propelled back up into the air. Back onto his feet.
So now instead of charging at him like Sakana had previously planned now he was the one who had to go on the defensive because the man started to charge him. Since they were only about a meter away, it really was not a charge, since he would have closed the gap in just a few steps, but none the less the gennin was ready. He was not going to take this hit, he was going to step forward and to the side at the same time with his right leg, This would leave very little distance between the two, maybe a matter of inches, so since they were so close and since the man was at a full speed charge he would end up passing right by Sakana.
Not wanting to let him get away the Meijin would once again try and initiate the chain fist attack again for the second time this fight. He would still go with the standard closed fist strike and once again he would go for four punches in rapid succession aimed at the man’s back. His first punch would start with his right hand so that even if the man stopped his charge and realized he was being attacked he would not be able to grab Sakana’s arm. Then the next three punches would be alternating left fist, right fist, and finishing off with the left fist again. Each of these strikes will have a speed of 86 and a strength of 41.
Should all these attacks go through the drunk man would probably feel hurt. And that’s what Sakana needed, if this attack went through it would start to shift the battle in his direction and maybe he would even come out the victor or at least it would prove that he was a capable fighter.
