The Reality of The Situation
Sun Apr 16, 2017 9:33 am
Valen moved toward his usual training ground for the day at a sedated pace with the church coming into view. He’d walk around behind it to the training ground to begin his katas and try to learn another new technique today. The sun was high in the sky and a light breeze blew his crimson cloak and black hair about. His blood red eyes looked out for threats, even here in the safety of his own home village and his boots moved silently through the sands of the desert. He arrived at the training ground and cracked his neck before drawing his sword. ‘More simple katas you weak little moron?’ His sword would snarkily remark in his mind as he drew it. ‘Shut up you stupid piece of metal..’ The sword wielder would say as he dropped into his stance and began to work through katas to warm up. He didn’t have any kind of particular goal today. He would move through his katas and gradually try to get faster and stronger. He was still young, he had plenty of time to become more powerful. He would continue to practice his katas, swinging his sword through the air in more and more complex maneuvers, the blade flashing the light of the sun around as it glided through the air.

As usual Kenshin found himself in one of the many training grounds of Hoshigakure, every inch of his snow white skin coated in a thick sheen of sweat due to the sheer intensity of the training that he had been doing all morning. His usually vibrant silver hair was a dark grey colour, and was matted to his back due to all of the sweat that it had absorbed throughout the many hours that he had been out here training, and his clothes themselves absolutely drenched, thankfully he had taken an ample supply of water with him, as demonstrated by the various empty water containers lying near the outskirts of the training ground. The sun itself was high in the sky, placing the time to be around midday, and in the harsh desert of Haven country the heat alone could be deadly. Thankfully after months and months of extreme body conditioning he was more than used to the heat that the desert exuded, after-all, it was one of the things that allowed him to bring his body to the superhuman levels of durability that it possessed.
As he always did the scar faced Chunin of Hoshigakure had his chakra sensory active, something that would allow him to feel someone the moment that they got within one hundred meter of the training grounds themselves, giving him more than enough time to change just how he was training in order to avoid allowing people to see his true training. After-all, letting people see his true training would only end up giving them clues about what his true strengths in combat could be, and for someone as cautious and paranoid as the silver haired youth, that was simply out of the question. No matter, he was not yet able to feel any chakra signatures in the area so he continued to do what he had been doing earlier, punching a massive slab of earth that he had created using his Moving Earth Core...but why was he doing such a thing you may find yourself asking, well, he was trying to bring his superhuman durability to even larger heights. But how would he do this you may be asking yourselves, seeing as Kenshin has had his stats maxed out for quite a while now, well, that was actually no longer the case, as this morning, before he had started his training, he had decided to drink a vial of a specific serum that he had developed with the help of the research and development department.
It was known to the village as Degradation Serum, and just as its name would suggest it allowed the user to degrade their muscles or chakra network in such a way that they could retrain their muscles in new ways, something that was definitely a high priority to Kenshin himself, as his body was still not at the level of durability that he considered to be ideal. And just what had he given up in order to allow himself to increase his durability further, well, he had more strength than he needed, so that was a rather simple choice, and he knew that speed was also something that he would not be focusing on all that heavily, so he had also lost a minuscule amount of speed. Now this serum seemed like a miracle did it not, giving one the chance to change up their fighting styles indefinitely...well that was most certainly not the case, even one use of the serum was something that the body itself required quite a long time to recover from, and the same person using the serum more than three times produced some rather...nasty results, even by his standards. He almost felt sorry on the bandit that he had used as his guinea pig in the serum’s testing phases, almost, as in the end the man had given his life for what Kenshin saw to be a noble cause, ensuring that the people of Hoshigakure did not share the same fate as he had.
Truly he was thankful for the miscalculation that he had made in his formula that allowed the Degradation Serum to be created, as this finally allowed him to fix the stupid mistake that he had made so long ago when he had been focusing heavily on strength training, a mistake made when the foolish idea of specializing in Taijutsu as well as medical ninjutsu came to his mind back in his early Genin days. Ugh, how positively uninteresting that would have been, thankfully he had come to his senses before he had screwed himself up even further, but there was still a bit of damage done...damage that he was seeking to fix right now. It was only now that he would feel the small chakra signature making its way towards he and the training grounds, something that made him roll his eyes in irritation, what sane person would decide to train in a desert environment in the middle of the day, besides him anyway. But that in itself brought up the question of was the rag-doll really sane...ugh, this was not the time or the place for him to begin wondering about a question like that, besides, he already knew the answer to that questions, and if he had it his way then he would be the only person who ever truly knew that answer.
Well anyway, he began to study the chakra signature that was making it’s way towards him, it was minuscule, at least when compared to his own, but then again, he knew damned well that his chakra reserves had grown by leaps and bounds since he had joined Hoshi...but then again, his reserves were still quite a bit smaller than what he remembered of Akihana’s…maybe there was something in the water in Hoshi that helped people gain more chakra...he would have to run a few tests on that, just in case. Either way though, as the signature actually arrived in the training grounds he would turn to face the one it belonged to, as no doubt due to him being in the training grounds at the time that he arrived some of the things that the new arrival had typed up in his post were rendered null and void. A light smirk would come to his face as he looked at the new arrival “Yo” he would say simply, raising his right hand in greeting, his palm itself appearing fine, but if he somehow managed to see the back of Kenshin’s hand he would see the deep purple bruises, torn skin and dried blood that coated his hands. He would also more than likely see the blood splattered all over the slightly cracked and broken slab of earth in front of him.

Valen would arrive at the training grounds the find someone already there. This confused him a bit because people didn’t really use this training ground because of the church nearby that he felt would put most people off. This meant that this person either wanted to away from other shinobi or simply didn’t care about the civilian populace. He’d personally put his money on the second option, as most people didn’t care about what the civilians could do. Especially if they were a powerful shinobi as at that untrained civilians wouldn’t be able to harm them. He would take a moment to study the church as they had started remodeling the old building and they were making steady progress. The building used to be a simple wooden church that wasn’t particularly large or small. But now the wooden building had been torn down and a much larger, stone building was taking it’s place. It was just a foundation, for now, but he knew eventually it’d be a grand sight to behold. He might even have to change his preferred training ground as he expected the new look would draw in many people who would want to look and stare at the building in awe of the architecture but the job would take quite a while to accomplish. He might offer them help sometime, provided they would take it of course. That however was a battle for the future, for now he would focus on the man that was in his favorite training ground.
The man was about five feet and five inches, give or take an inch or two and looked to have a fairly well built body. He had long seemingly dark grey hair that flowed down his back that seemed to be soaked with sweat. His vibrantly pale skin seemed to have a reflective sheen from the sun as it bore down and caused a thick sheen of sweat that soaked through his clothes as he punched an absolutely enormous slab of earth repeatedly, easily indenting the chakra made stone. How did he know it was chakra made? It had to be, Valen frequented this training ground and he knew for a fact that there wasn’t a large slab of earth sticking out of it on any kind of normal day. The man seemed to be trying to break the stone, which would take superhuman levels of strength and stamina. Valen, being the astute individual he was, figured that was the point of the entire exercise. He nodded his head in acknowledgement of the sheer strength and fortitude the man must have in order to train like this.
He noted it was much hotter today than normal as the sun beat down on them with it’s untouchable power and light bright enough to blind anyone who looked at it. Valen could easily tell the man training was definitely no idiot, he had brought plenty of water to the training ground and had been drinking it. It would seem he would have had to been there all morning based on how thick the sweat on the man was and the number of water bottles scattered around the ground. Valen would step over toward the albino man, his clothing and long black hair still unaffected by his own sweat. He had yet to begin training after all. He kept his sword sheathed but instinctively placed his hand on the hilt of the powerful sword, a precaution he took up soon after he got the blade in case things went south when meeting new people. You’d be surprised how many backwards civilians he had...persuaded..to leave him alone with the simple act.
As he got within a few meters of the man the pale stone beater would turn around around, but not before Valen noticed the deep bruises, shredded skin and long since dried blood on the back of his hand and as the so far unnamed person turned around Valen would notice the dried blood on the stone slab. He took note of this man’s powerful endurance and tried to figure out how he would win if they came to blows. He honestly didn’t know if he would at this point, as the man had strong enough earth element ninjutsu to create the stone slab, powerful enough blows to cause damage to it, and either powerful medical jutsu or an obscene level of endurance to keep it up as long as he seemed to have. Hell Valen was almost willing to bet it would be both considering the man obviously struck the stone through the pain and the backs of his hands would be far more damaged if he had simply done this all morning. After the man finished turning to face Valen he would raise up a perfectly unmarred palm and simply utter a simple “Yo.” With a smirk to accompany it. Valen would raise his hand back and reply with a simple “Yo.” As well with a smirk of his own. “Training eh” He’d say after greeting the man. It wouldn’t be in the form of a question, after all it was obvious that it was what he was doing. He wondered what the man would do if he started to train here as well. Would he leave? Would he stay? Would he watch? He didn’t know, but he’d soon find out. “Valen..” He would say simply, giving his name so that the as of yet unnamed man would know what to call him.

Valen would be somewhat correct in the assumption that Kenshin simply did not care about the civilian populace, but he would also be somewhat correct if he had assumed that he also wished to get away from the shinobi populace. All in all Kenshin just disliked people in general and wished to get away from everyone whenever he trained, that was why he had chosen to train out here for the time being, he knew that most shinobi would stay away from this particular training ground because of the church nearby. And on the other hand the priests and civilians that attended the nearby church were far too cowardly to come out and tell him to leave, after-all, he did look pretty damned demonic AND he possessed the ability to manipulate chakra, so they more than likely saw him as the very personification of their devil. Besides, at least if the civilians saw him training they would be unable to use the information against him in the future, shinobi were, by their very natures thieves and spies, information was power in their world, and if someone knew what to expect against you then the battle was lost before it had even begun.
It was only now that he actually took a good look at the new arrival to the training grounds, his skin was definitely more pale than most peoples, but was still nothing when compared to Kenshin’s own snow white skin, but then again, when one had the pigments in their skin killed by poison they tended to be a lot paler than your average person. He had rather long black hair and piercing red eyes, something that when combined with his pale skin gave him the classic ‘dark prince’ look, his choice in clothing was rather unique compared to most though, especially among shinobi, a he wore bright crimson cloak. The new arrival was quite a bit taller than Kenshin himself, standing at somewhere around five foot eleven, give or take an inch, and he appeared to be possess a rather healthy amount of muscles for a shinobi, not too much and at the same time not too little. Attached to his waist was a sheathed sword, and he seemed to be ready to draw the sword at any moment, a wise precaution as they had yet to be acquainted, and as such neither of them had any idea of the intentions of the other, the exact same reason that Kenshin himself was prepared to use a full powered Poison Mist directly into the face of the newcomer should he do anything too suspicious. It should be noted that he was only using the Pepsis Poison, so he would only be paralyzed rather than killed, but still, it would incapacitate him should he try anything suspect.
Now, all of these observations had been made over the span of a second or two, as that is really all that is required for one to actually note these things about another person in real life, their height, their basic appearance and their clothes, so all of this stuff had been seen a processed while Valen was raising his hand in order to return Kenshin’s greeting. “Yo” he would also say simply, a matching smirk on his face as he did so, something that in turn caused Kenshin’s own to widen a little “Training eh” the new arrival would say, his tone easily telling the scar faced youth that it was not a question, rather it was a simple observation. Good, he hated it when people were stupid enough to ask if he was training whenever he clearly was, he understood that they did it in order to find out just what he was training, but why couldn’t they simply ask that if that’s what they wanted to know, why do they instead choose to ask him if he was training when they knew damned well that he was. Ugh, that was a bit of a peeve of his, and the fact that some random Chunin had done such a thing to him earlier in the day was what caused him to move to this training ground in the first place, he simply was not social enough to properly deal with the idiocy that most people displayed on a daily basis.
“Valen…” the dark haired young man would say simply as Kenshin himself turned back to the large stone slab that he had created, the smirk on his face widening further as he drew back his fist and slammed it into the stone construct with all of his might, the thud of flesh meeting stone echoing across the training ground as he continued to pummel his fists on the extremely hard surface. “Kenshin” he would offer in return, it seemed that much like him Valen was not much of a talker, and that was something that Kenshin himself definitely appreciated, as it seemed that almost everyone in Hoshigakure was a talker, and while he could easily wear the mask of someone who enjoyed talking to others it did tend to get rather taxing after a while. As small chunks of stone cracked beneath his fist and shards of stone began to force themselves into the flesh of his hand Kenshin would look over his shoulder at Valen. “Rank?” he would ask with a slightly curious tone as he turned back to continue pummelling his hands against the hard stone, once more thankful that due to his Earth Grudge Fear he did not possess any bones to break.

Valen would watch Kenshin turn and begin assaulting the stone box with his bare hands again. He’d observe as the blood flew from the man’s hands and wondered what kind of endurance the man must’ve had to allow him to push so much power into his attacks without damaging his skeletal structure. He was about to ask the question when all of a sudden the smooth voice of the gray haired man that was attacking a giant piece of rock for all he was worth ask a simple, one word question “Rank?” He would ask. Vale would note Kenshin glanced at him as he asked and Valen would nod his head. “Fresh genin, last week” He would say simply. He knew full well it wouldn’t matter to the man. After all everyone started somewhere and this didn’t seem like the type of person to shove his, as of now, low rank in his face. He sighed now as he knew he’d have to talk more to explain what he was here to do and see if this man could possibly assist him. “I’m here to train, as if that wasn’t obvious enough I know.” He’d start before continuing “I haven’t really run into anyone that has really...struck the fear of what kind of monsters exist out there into me yet.” He would continue as he looked up at the cloudy sky and sigh. “I don’t know how else to explain it. I don’t feel, super motivated so far to get strongers. I have a sword, isn’t that enough?” He’d continue, leaving the last part at the end with a shrug as he turned back toward the man. It was now that he’d take full stock of his appearance.
The man has a pair of pitch black pants, a black belt which had his two weapon pouches clipped to it, a pair of grey sandals and a sleeveless black vest. Valen could also see sclera of his eyes were blood red and the iris’ were silver. It gave the man an ominous look, but he supposed that he was on to talk considering his crimson eyes. He’d continue to note the arms of the man, more importantly, how severely scarred they were. Valen could clearly see dozens of criss cross scars across the man’s arms with stitching to boot. Yes this man had been through hell, if anyone could show him what kind of monster the world could create it would be him. “Would you be willing to spar with me Kenshin?” He’d ask with a respectful nod of his head. He’d been disturbing the man’s training after all, and considering his own power paled in comparison to what he had already seen from Kenshin he was not particularly optimistic that Kenshin himself would get much out of sparring with him except whatever mild amusement he’d get from stomping him into the ground.

“Fresh Genin, last week” he would hear escape the lips of the red clad teen, something that caused Kenshin himself to nod his head minutely even as he continued to pummel his hands against the stone slab that he had created earlier, small specks of blood flying from his heavily bruised and injured hands with each and every punch. He had figured that the young swordsman was either an academy student or a very green genin from the feel of his chakra signature alone, it was too low for him to be anything else, but then again like Valen had mentioned in his post such a thing meant nothing to Kenshin, as he knew that back when he was in the same position...he was quite a bit stronger. But he had an unfair advantage, he had been a missing nin for years before he had joined the village so it made sense that he would be quite a bit more powerful than the average recent academy graduate, not to mention the rather unique abilities granted to him by his Earth Grudge Fear.
A silver brow would arch just a little as he heard the sigh that escaped from Valen’s lips “I’m here to train, as if that wasn’t obvious enough I know” he would say, causing the small smirk on Kenshin’s face to widen a little, he had not even needed to say a word just yet, and hopefully things would continue this way. “I haven’t really run into anyone that has really...struck the fear of what kind of monsters exist out there yet” he would hear Valen say in what sounded like a forlorn tone, something that actually managed to get Kenshin to stop his punching to hear what the dark prince was going to say next. “I don’t know how else to explain it. I don’t feel, super motivated so far to get stronger. I have a sword, isn’t that enough?” he would ask in what sounded like a bored tone, something that caused Kenshin to feel a great deal of rage, the sheer ignorance in the young swordsman's statement causing his silver eyes to begin glowing ominously due to the anger he was feeling right now. Oh he would enjoy breaking this young mans ignorant view of the world, if a monster was what he needed then he had come to the right place.
But before he could even turn to face the dark haired young man he would begin to speak once more “Would you be willing to spar with me Kenshin?” he would hear, causing the angered glare on his face to fade away, and instead it would be replaced by an extremely dark and ominous grin, his glowing silver eyes only serving to make the look more ominous. Kenshin would look back at the young man who stood roughly one meter behind him, standing roughly half a meter to the left of his back, exposing his glowing silver eyes and his dark grin to the one who was about to be given a harsh lesson on the truth of this world, his bleeding right fist still pushed firmly against the stone slab that he had created earlier in the day. His left hand was still clenched in a tight fist, bright crimson blood flowing from the torn flesh of his knuckles from its pulled back position, ready to be launched at the stone, but alas, the young man's challenge meant that it was going to be used for something else instead. He was about to do something that most people would consider to be an extremely dirty move in a fight, but the two of them were shinobi and as such there was no tactic that could be considered two dirty whilst they fought, after-all, what was honour in the end, but the tool of a coward. “Prepare yourself” Kenshin would say simply, and that was the only warning Valen would get before Kenshin struck
At his full speed (95) Kenshin would tilt his his body slightly and allow his left hand to lash out towards the young man, the hand itself stopping short of the boy, but the blood that was flowing from the wounds on his knuckles would be launched directly into his eyes at the same speed as his hand had been moving. There would be almost no way of dodging the blood, as the movement of his hand itself and the crimson liquid was moving at such a great speed that the new Genin would simply be unable to react in time, provided that the blinding worked, Kenshin would move to continue his assault. Mere moments after the blood came into contact with the dark haired young Genin’s eyes the silver haired youth would use his EGF Limb Detachment to launch his still extended left hand at the young man at the same speed as his other movements (95), he would grab hold of the young man's throat with an iron grip and heft him into the air, before whipping him down to the earth with his full strength (25). Now if only that was the extent of his assault, then perhaps the young man would be able to stand, but no, right before the young man was about to hit the ground Kenshin would activate his Added-Weight Boulder technique, rendering the young man unable to do so much as twitch due to the extreme new weight of his body (65 health or higher needed to move).
Now, all of this would have taken place in the span of a couple of seconds, something that would more than likely leave Valen’s mind spinning on top of the pain he would be feeling from his now extremely heavy body being slammed into the earth by the sadistic silver eyed heart thief...oh how tempting it was...the opportunity to gain a new heart. He was unable to fight back, nor were there any people around that could link this young mans disappearance to him...but unfortunately for anyone that was hoping he would end the life of this young man right now that was simply not on the to do list of the young Chunin of Hoshigakure. All he had wished to do was teach this ignorant young fool a valuable lesson about this accursed world, and he believed that the ease with which he had dispatched the young man would be enough of a lesson to make him wish to get stronger, especially when he realized that Kenshin had yet to remove his right hand from the stone slab or even take a step in his direction. And so Kenshin would simply return to what he had been doing all morning, pummeling his fists against the stone slab, the dull, slightly wet thuds echoing through the training fields as Valen lay in a small crater behind his position, unable to move due to the newfound weight of his body.

Re: The Reality of The Situation

‘Prepare yourself’ Valen would hear mere moment before he couldn’t tell what was happening anymore. All of a sudden he was blinded by a wet, sticky liquid, blinding him and causing him to shut his eyes completely. He was of course expecting more at this point, but expecting more and being able to stop it from happening were too very different things. All of sudden Valen picked clear up into the air and being slammed down to the ground with great force, cratering the ground with the force of the strike. He felt and heard bones creak and had to fight to keep his eyes from rolling into the back of his head. He almost completely lost consciousness before realizing he wasn’t able to move at all. He laid there on the ground, in immense amounts of pain with the inability to even reach up to wipe off what he now realized was blood on his face. He was barely able to breathe without his chest caving in due to the added weight to his body from whatever technique Kenshin had used, could even blink his eyes. His sword had made absolutely zero difference in this situation and he was picked up and tossed around like a toy. He managed to get a single weak cough out that caused him immense pain due to sheer weight of his own body. It was great enough that he almost lost consciousness. It was at this point that Valen would hear the dull, wet, thunks of the man’s fist hitting the wall repeatedly again. This was how he knew he had gone back to what he was doing. Valen himself would be forced to lay there in immense pain and at the man’s mercy. He had paid for his idiocy, but then again that was what made people wiser. He had voiced a challenge without realizing it and the man next to him punching a stone wall had gladly educated him.
He lay there for a few minutes and let the reality of the situation dawn on him. He had been picked apart and destroyed in less than five seconds. He wasn’t even able to see the man move before he had been torn apart as an afterthought. ‘So this is what a monster is huh?’ He’d think to himself as he lay there in enough pain to be perfectly content to stay that way, as if he could move if he even wanted to. He couldn’t even move his mouth to talk at this point. He couldn’t believe the power of this man. Could he obtain such power? The ability to end people in the blink of an eye like that? Could he manage to get strong enough to be like that? What just happened to him was insane, he still couldn’t make out what happened, even when he replayed it in his mind. One moment he’d had blood tossed in his face and the next he was cratered in the ground nearby with the inability to move. The whole situation was rather surreal if he was perfectly honest. ‘What the fuck happened to you?’ He’d hear the voice in his head. ‘I called you because he had potential, but so far you’ve completely wasted it fucking around and now you opened your mouth around someone who’s clearly more powerful than you, seriously, what the hell?’ The voice would continue to berate him ‘You better hope he helps you get back up and possibly heals you or you’re as good as dead you idiot. I can’t believe you got completely torn apart in five seconds by a guy who barely turned around from his training. He could’ve killed you if he had decided to ya know.’ He voice would continue. Valen would wince at the scolding but he couldn’t even manage enough range of motion for that. ‘I know, I know..I messed up, I got confident in the abilities you have and my ability to use them well and ended up getting completely decimated. I need to start training now, badly. I wish we could speak to get him to let us up though.’ He would finish as an afterthought.
He’d lay there until the man, would it still be viable to call the man a man or would ‘monster’ be the better term here? Either way, he’d lay there until Kenshin decided to come help him up. Lord knows he wasn’t getting up on his own accord. That was fine in this case though, he wasn’t completely positive he would even be able to keep himself standing even if he could. He was in an immense amount of pain and wasn’t fully sure that he didn’t have quite a few things on him broken. So it was probably for the best if he simply laid there and attempted not to look like an idiot. Which he knew full well he was for opening his mouth like that around someone as powerful as this, but how was he supposed to know? No, that line of thought was self destructive and led way toward making excuses down the line. This whole situation was HIS fault and HIS alone, he would simply have to reap what he sowed. So that’s where we find our favorite, broody, crimson clad sword user.

As Kenshin continued to pummel his hands against the stone slab that he had created earlier his mind began to wander a bit, heading in the direction of a technique that he had learned how to perform awhile ago, the Earth Release technique Swamp of the Underworld. As the name of the technique suggested the user creates a swamp, one that drags anyone unlucky enough to be caught within the technique down into it’s depths, and once in the depths of the swamp those caught within are left to suffocate, making it a very good technique for incapacitating and killing his opponents. The concept of the jutsu itself was rather simple, all one had to do was turn the earth into a viscous mud…the tricky part was turning such a large quantity of earth into the mud at the same time, something that took both a great deal of chakra and a great deal of control to properly pull off. Now, Kenshin himself had already learned how to utilize the technique, but in his opinion his skill with it was still not good enough, this was a technique that he wished to truly master so that he was able to pull it off in but a moment with no hand seals, because as it was, even with hand seals the technique was absolutely devastating when used in combat, and if he could pull it off without any warning then it would only end up being that much more dangerous.
But it was only now that Kenshin would remember the young genin who he had just...educated, he supposed that it would be best to disable his jutsu’s effects, before it had any truly adverse effects on his body, so with a small sigh of annoyance Kenshin would turn around and walk over to the young Akari lying within his small crater. The silver haired Chunin would kneel down next to the completely immobile teen, before placing his right hand on Valen’s shoulder, and it was at this touch that the effects of his Added-Weight Rock technique would be completely undone, but Kenshin took this opportunity to look over the body of the young man he had so handily beaten, to ensure that he had not seriously hurt anything but the teens ego. Hopefully now the boy would be able to see the ignorance of his earlier statement, but then again, after being beaten so harshly and with so little effort on his own part there was very little chance that Valen would willingly keep his eyes closed to the truth of this world, the one simple truth that might made might, the strong thrived while the weak died.
“Hope you learnt your lesson” Kenshin would say simply with a small smirk on his face as he stood up, offering Valen his hand to help pull the young man free of the crater that he had created when he slammed him into the ground mere moments prior. Should Valen accept his hand up then the stitched and scarred albino would help pull him up with what looked to be amusement on his face ‘At least he’s willing to accept help’ he would think, his amused smirk taking on a slightly kinder look as he did so. On the other hand though, if Valen refused his hand then Kenshin would still have an amused look on his face ‘I will enjoy breaking that pride of his’ he would think, his amused smirk taking a slightly darker look in response to his thoughts. Either way though the young heart thief would go back to his training, but this time, rather than simply pummeling his hands against that damned stone slab, he would move onto his Earth Release training, so with a small smirk on his face he would place his right palm upon the surface of the stone he had created earlier. With little effort on his part Kenshin would begin to channel his chakra into the earth, and as soon as it entered he would begin to gently flow it around, mixing and stirring at the earth, and as he did so, the stone slab itself would seem to warp and slag slightly.
If Valen was watching, then he would be able to see the slab itself seemingly melting, but what was really happening was that Kenshin was turning the incredibly hard stone that he had created earlier into mud, a rather simple exercise in perfecting one's control over the element of earth, especially considering the jutsu that he wished to learn sometime within this topic. The stone slab would slowly collapse in on itself, the mud being unable to support itself in the same way that it had been able to earlier when it was solid stone, eventually turning from what was obviously a large slab of earth, into a large pile of mud in the center of the training grounds. But he was not done, oh no, not just yet, with a small smirk on his face Kenshin would begin to sculpt the mud into the shape that he wished it to take, it was just as he had explained to Kazuhiro that night, one could not force the earth to chance, it had to be coaxed, sculpted, and that was exactly what he was doing right this moment. The pile of mud would slowly change into a shape that would be familiar to most of the people within Hoshi, taking the form of the Lady of Light, and it was only then that he would once more begin to solidify the mud, turning the mud idol into a genuine statue of the religious figure, one that due to the keen eye of Kenshin was close to flawless, close to, but not completely.
With his little display done Kenshin would turn to face Valen with a confident smirk on his face “So, what elements do you possess?” he would ask, his tone slightly curious "If you possess Earth I could teach you a thing or two" he would then offer with a slight shrug of his shoulders, he had nothing better to do.

Re: The Reality of The Situation

Valen would be able to hear Kenshin trying to pummel the giant stone slab to a rubble and he was able to move his eyes enough to tell that the man had gotten lost into his own thoughts. So he lay there waiting for him to realize that he was still stuck in the crater. That or for the technique he used to immobilize him like this to wear off. The man had torn him apart, no joking around, no preamble, no nothing. Valen had angered him to a degree and he reacted in kind. If they weren’t allied shinobi he’d be dead. It was..monstrous, the power he had was absolutely monstrous and there was no other way to describe it. Were all powerful shinobi like this? Were they all...monsters? Could they all kill him this easily? Could he obtain the same level of power that they had? He probably could, no he knew he could. If they could manage to get to that level what was stopping him? He’d have to train harder than he ever had before. Maybe Kenshin would be able to and willing to assist him? Maybe he would help him train his body to such monstrous levels. It was worth a try, if he’d ever remember that he stuck in this crater. ‘He’s probably just letting me lay here to learn my lesson for opening my mouth with such an idiotic statement. Can’t see it wasn’t warranted, or that it wasn’t effective..’ He’d think as Kenshin continued pummeling the stone.
‘No shit’ This ever present companion to his mental musings would reply. ‘You got cocky because you had MY abilities, but you never thought to increase your own did you? You’re pathetic, maybe I should find out if that guy beating up a stone box would wants a sword.’ The voice would mockingly say in his mind. Valen began to think of that, theoretically Crimson End didn’t NEED to stay with him, hell it was a miracle he hadn’t driven Valen mad already with the boys lack of killing anyone for the sword to be sated on. He mentally sighed, since he couldn’t move his body to do it in reality. This situation was not what he had imagined when he came out in the morning. But that was the way the world worked now wasn’t? He’d finally notice Kenshin looking at him and sighing in annoyance before walking over and placing a hand on his shoulder. Suddenly the technique would be lifted and he’d be able to move again. He’d take in a few deep breaths, as the technique had made it difficult to breath as he couldn’t really take in enough air to move his chest, preventing him from taking in a normal sized breath. “Hope you learnt your lesson” He would hear as he took his deep breathes. “I’d say the ‘weight’ of what you were teaching me has set in” He would say in return. Bad jokes aside he would begin to sit up after that before being offered a hand from the man. Valen would take it and stand upright with Kenshin’s help, he would note the amusement on the man’s face as he knelt down to pick back up his sword to tie it to his waist again.
He’d proceed to watch the man move on with his training. He wasn’t quite sure if he was supposed to leave, his lesson learned, of if he should stick around. But he decided to stay until Kenshin himself told him he wanted to be left alone. He was the first one to the training field that morning so it would only be right. But that was only if the stitched and scarred man told him to leave. He’d watch as the man placed a hand on the giant stone slab and began to channel his chakra around it. The slab began to seemingly melt before Valen’s eyes but upon a moment of inspection he noted that it was simply turning into mud. He blinked his eyes at the chakra control required to perform such an act before cocking his head to the side. He hadn’t really gotten around to working with elements yet. Sure he unlocked his fire element on that mission with Nano, but he hadn’t gotten any techniques for it. Nor was he particularly interested in them really. He wanted to work on his swordsmanship. Maybe later on he could work on some ranged abilities to take care of that weakness, but it just wasn’t his style to rely on conjuring out fire, lightning, or moving the earth with chakra. The blade had a more...visceral feel to it, as well as a sense of finesse. Did enjoying the feel of cutting someone with his sword make him odd? Probably, but find a single completely sane shinobi and he’d point out a liar. It was at this point that the mud pile would suddenly form into a nearly flawless statue of a religious figure. Valen would blink a few times to make sure he wasn’t seeing things. Was Dr. Frankenstein’s monster practicing genjutsu instead? That was a horrifying thought. He shook his head clear of the thoughts. This man seemed far too up front for that kind of thing. It was then the man would ask his question. “What elements do you possess?” He would ask before continuing “If you possess Earth I could teach you a thing or two.” He would continue. “Clearly” would be Valen’s rather short response before shaking his head in the negative. “Fire and Lightning I’m afraid, not really the ninjutsu type anyway, I prefer the finesse and visceral feel of the sword.” He would finish, putting his early thoughts to words. “Maybe we could spar? You seemed perfectly capable of beating me within an inch of my life so maybe you’d be willing to help me push my body to new heights?” He’d ask, the man was clearly willing to help him if he was willing to teach him Earth Style techniques. So it couldn’t hurt to ask.

After the silver haired Chunin cancelled his Added-Weight Rocks effects upon Valen he would say exactly what he had typed out in his previous post, the exact words being “Hope you learnt your lesson”, his smooth voice taking on a slightly amused tone as the words themselves escaped from between his lips. “I’d say the ‘weight’ of what you were teaching me has set in” the dark haired youth would reply after taking a few deep breathes, but his words would get no response from Kenshin, who decided that it would be best for him to ignore the ruby eyed teens rather sad attempt at a joke. So bad was the attempt that Kenshin was forced to recall the rather terrible one liner given by Kyousuke Snow after the incident in the water gardens...hmm, perhaps he ought to introduce the two, they may end up bonding over their seeming shared love of bad puns. Now, through all these thoughts his face would hold the same smirk as it had before, and his actions themselves would not have changed in any way from how they were detailed in the previous post, the great acting skills of the young albino once more coming in very handy.
Even as Kenshin went back to his training he had been able to see the eyes of the fresh Genin upon him, it didn’t really bother him per se, because he knew that he was not eyeing him up due to his rather unique looks, he suspected that Valen was still looking at him because he was trying to study him, figure out some more about him other than the strength that he held. If that was indeed the case then the best thing for the young man to look at would be the obvious, due to his current attire his arms were completely exposed, revealing the stitched cuts that adorned a great deal of the exposed flesh, giving them the appearance of a rather macabre jigsaw puzzle. But that was nowhere near as disturbing and revealing as the innumerable threads that made up most of his body were constantly squirming beneath the surface of his pure white skin, this having the effect of making his skin quite literally crawl, and making it look like countless bugs were crawling beneath the surface. Honestly, the effect bothered him quite a bit, not because he cared what people thought of his looks, but simply because it could give people clues about his abilities, and for someone like him, who cared about keeping his abilities secret...well, it was rather annoying.
After finishing little exercise to help with his control over Earth Release he would ask Valen what elements he possessed, in the exact same way as was detailed in the previous post, same words, same tone of voice, everything was the same, even the little shrug he gave as he offered to teach him a thing or two, provided that he did possess the element. “Clearly” Valen would say as he shook his head in a negative fashion “Fire and Lightning I’m afraid, not really the Ninjutsu type anyway, I prefer the finesse and visceral feeling of the sword” he would say, something that got a small smirk from the silver haired young chunin as he looked over his shoulder at Valen, his hands coming together in front of his body as he did so. “I’m not really the Ninjutsu type either...it’s just too...flashy, for my tastes” Kenshin would say as he began to go through a very familiar set of hand seals, there were a total of five, and all of them were formed at as fast as he could possibly perform them (95 speed). The moment that the final hand seal had been formed a rather brilliant blue aura would engulf young man's beaten and bloody hands, shaping itself into two incredibly sharp and precise looking blades made entirely of chakra around his hands, and he knew from personal experience with this jutsu that it was capable of cutting through flesh and bone like a hot knife through butter.
Now, due to the positioning of the two Valen would be completely unable to see either of Kenshin’s hands, nor would he have been able to see Kenshin performing the hand seals needed to use his technique, he would know that the young teen had been doing something with his hands, but not that he was forming hand seals. This is why the dark haired young man would more than likely be pretty shocked when Kenshin extended his right arm out over to the left side of his body, revealing the Chakra Scalpel to Valen before slashing at his full speed (95), his target, none other than the statue that he had created using his Earth Release mere moments ago. His chakra scalpel would slice through the solid stone with about as much resistance as he would have gotten if he decided to slice through the air, and just like that the near flawless statue would find itself sliced in two, the top half of the statue falling to the ground and shattering. As this happened, Kenshin would turn towards Valen with a rather dark smirk splitting his face, before holding his right hand up in front of his own face, the chakra scalpel still active as he seemed to examine the chakra construct that coated his hand.
“While I do possess some skill in Ninjutsu, I prefer the art of Medical Ninjutsu…” Kenshin would say simply as he deactivated his chakra scalpel, not bothering to give Valen as reason as to just why he preferred that field over all of the many others, after-all, it should be rather simple for the young man to figure out just why someone such as he would prefer such a field of study.
