Of rain and roofs [P/NK]
Thu Apr 20, 2017 11:00 pm
Dol sat in the small pagoda, shielded from the rain, if only breifly. The training grounds were nice to at least have this small respite from the torrential downpour.
He read from a book. A rather old book even. While yes the copy of the book he read from was old, pages yellowed by age and the leather binding and cover showing its years, the words in the book were older still, passed down by many a generation. The specific contents of the book were not the important thing, however.
The important thing to realize is that he sat alone within the training grounds, knowing he needed to prepare, but wanting nothing more than to go for a drink. This hellscape was not a nice place.
Maybe some day he could meet a slightly less twisted individual.

Angel begain running up to the training ground, every once and a while casting body flicker to burst some speed and to practice the technique, all while in the pooring rain. She groaned, she didn’t want to be training, she just wanted to continue reading the master piece of art, ‘Moby Dick’ . She was having quite a blast with it, but the young woman was still a shinobi and as such, had to keep up her physical training. The girl ran up the muddy slope, she was wearing her usual trainng outfit, Black sweat pants a tight black crop top, but wasn’t wearing her usual hoodie and was instead wearing a rain jacket, as to not catch a cold from the rain. She made her way up the slope, using a new technique she learned where she could use her chakra to throw Kunai harder, and then would catch up to it using the bodyflicker movement technique that she had been studying up on for the last few days. Once she got up to the training ground, she had a very simple plan, she was just going to do a few laps around the trainging field doing the basic throwing a kunai and then catching up with it through body flicker, and stop. She didn’t have a plan about how many laps she was going to do, maybe, ten, perhaps one hundred, may more than she could count! (Probably at most two though, because Angel was kind of lazy, and doing more than that in the pooring rain seems stupid.)
As Angel Burr made her way into the field, she would notice that no one was really there, save an old man who was reading a book. The Uchiha would look over to said book and be quite interested, she was always a fan of books, and the one that this man was reading was an older book…. Which usually meant that if it was kept around long enough that it would look like that, it was good read and a rare find..
Prehaps the poet should of made more of an attempt to do her training and continue running, however, instead she decided to approach the man, and ask, “Excuse me… sir?” The girl would ask, “Pardon the intrusion, but if I may be so bold, I was wondering if I may inquire what it is that you are reading?”

Dol looked up to the girl. A kindhearted smile stretched across his face as be closed the book.
"He who trusts Them has no fears worth realizing. Yet he shall fear, for fear is a gift from Them, as Their will be done."
Dol only hoped that the girl would recognize the line. His religion was not exactly the most popular in this area, having originated in one country long, long ago as an adaptation of another, and then... never leaving. Well, not often at least. Dol was an example of it leaving. First on his migration to what would some day be Skyscraper, and then later to 'Kirigakure'.
"It's OK if you don't get it. It's an older saying from a not-so-popular book." He would pat the unnamed cover.

Angel would approach the man and she would see something that she hadn't seen a lot of since she joined up the the village. She saw a smile... not a fake smile... not a crazy psychotic smile, but a normal warm hearted smile that speared when he saw the young girl.
"He who trusts Them has no fears worth realizing. Yet he shall fear, for fear is a gift from Them, as Their will be done."
The man would say to Angel, a quote from a book.... it sounded familiar so she probably had heard it before... or had she?
"It's OK if you don't get it. It's an older saying from a not-so-popular book." He would continue to say... but blonde Uchiha wasn't going to give up immediately...
Angel started making some guess, [/i]'will be done'[/i] was a staple of the bible, but the girl didn't think that this was from that, because it talked about 'their' will be done, and the bible taught that there was only one God, divided into three parts, yes, but was merely a single deity. As such, he is usually referred to as a single person, so the word 'their' probably meant that it wasn't from the bible. At the same time, it was alluding to the bible by saying 'will be done,' so it had to be a Christian writer. Perhaps the rest of the quote would signify more clues to the origin of the quote.
The first part of the quote was, "He who trusts Them has no fears worth realizing"
'He' probably was just a general meaning for a person, as it was in most literature, but who was the 'them' that they were referring to.... that was the question.
The quote talked about fears..... that there is no fear worth realizing... what would it mean to realize a fear?
Either way, the next part of the quote said, " Yet he shall fear, for fear is a gift from Them," Fear is a gift? The bible clearly stated that Fear isn't a gift, but a curse. The bible thought that one should no fear even in the face of death, because everything is part of the Chirtian God's plan, even if one was to die... that means that they were to return to God's kingdom, heaven. That was probably a hint toward where this quote came from... so... if Fear isn't a gift from God, that it comes from the fallen angel Lucifer and all the angels that fell with him during the rebellion in heaven before the earth began.... According to Christian lore that is.
That being said, Fear was a curse from Lucifer.... but the quote refers to it as a gift from 'them' As such, 'them' has to be referring to Lucifer and all of those who fought along side with him. (Presuming that this was something to do with Christianity, which judging by the final words, 'will be done' Angel believed so.) That being said, if this quote was looking at fear as a gift, and that it was a gift from demons, then the author of said quote had to believe in demons in a positive light, which meant that the book this quote had to be from was.....
"I... Am not sure sir... but I believe it is the Satanic Bible, written by Anton LaVey, Sir. I have never read the book, but in summary, The part of, 'their will be done,' made me think that it is a parody of the bible's Iconic quote, 'My will be done'. Combining that with the fact that it refers to fear as 'a gift' makes me believe that this is where the quote originates."
She asked the old man, looking at him for an answer

Dol blinked a moment as a grin spread across his face.
"Your analysis is well done, but lacking a little! Tell me, if God exists, is He the progenitor of all?"
His goal was to guide the girl in a specific direction, though if that worked out only time would tell.

Angel would think for a minute is he the propagator of all? Well, according to Genisis,, God did make one everyone… That was sort of the big point of him, he made all, and was also all powerful. Whether or not someone chose to believe that or not would be up to them. “I mean... I suppose? That is kind of what the bible says about him, he is the originator? So if he is, then yes. I believe he would be.” Angel herself never looked at the bible as an actual belief before…. But always as a literary piece of art.

(Really good tie in of the name)
"If He is the progenitor of all, from whereabouts did the angels come?"
Angel would look down and think for a moment, she had been reading the bible very recently just a few days ago. So she should know this. If she recalled correctly, in the book of Colossian somewhere, it said, For in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him. Angel would presume that meant the same thing to her as well, "From him, in the first book of Colossians, it say that from him all was created, whether visible or invisible. I don’t know for sure, but I would presume that includes Angels as well."

The first…. Well…. Angel didn’t want to say dumb, because she didn’t want to say that about the man, he might have been leading her to something, and even if he was, he might have been trying to just get her to think. That being said, The blonde Uchiha liked it when people made her think creatively, And really the fact that this man was making her think, so she didn’t want to call anything this man said dumb. The teenager would call this a…. self answering question. Those who wrote the bible thought of this Deitiy as a higher power, so yes, the writers would think of Him as such.
"I would say yes. At least, according to the Bible he is. However, that also might be the writer's personal belief of him, rather then an actual reflection of what he actual can or can't do. After all, many of the writers of the gospel were people under great stress and facing great ordeals, when in that situation, one would love to believe that there was an all powerful being out there that had complete control of everything and was on their side."
