Cole waited for kotetsu to attack and he did when cole threw the kunai Kotetsu countered with shuiken and they hit their mark. Slicing into coles calves he winced a bit letting his knees buckle a little. For two reasons one was cause it hurt like hell. He hadn't been hit like that before and it was his first time feeling pain like that. They other reason was for his jutsu he needed his knees to been. He figured that Kotetsu would follow up after seeing that he drew first blood, but cole knew that its not who draws first blood its who draws last blood.

Cole then focused his chakra into his body pushing white bones out of his skin. He had two spikes out of his palms, one of both knees and elbows, and had several more come out of of his body in random spots. While he took in his surrounding it was not hard to find Kotetsu has he had caught a glimpse of him when he threw the kunai. Kotetsu was coming at him from the left side. Cole then saw him coming around him from the left side, but he noticed that something was not right when Kotetsu moved the grass didn't. This told Cole that it had to be the clone jutsu. Knowing this he figured that kotetsu was using the clone as a distraction. Knowing that it was a clone cole waited and when he heard Kotetsu running and saw the clone beside him he jumped into the clone at a speed of 45 turning and aiming the spike on his right hand at kotetsu with a speed of 45 sharpness of 42. Since it was a spar he would aim to the side a bit to avoid any vitals as not to harm him. He would however go to draw blood after all he had to get pay back.

After the attack and cole landing on the other side of the clone cole would then go on the offensive. Depending on what kotetsu would do cole would go to follow up his attack with either a knee to the body driving the bone spike into Kotetsu or spin into an elbow into kotetsus back.

He didn't take the bait. Kotetsu wasn't overly surprised. Cole spun and retaliated by firing some kind of projectile at him. Kotetsu would need to abort his attack ad come up with a long-range solution. So with his speed of 35, slightly slower than Cole was turning, but there was still some distance between them. That would give Kotetsu time to throw himself to one side. The bone just caught his pants, tearing through the material easily, but not connecting with Kotetsu's flesh itself. Ducking into a roll as he landed so that when the roll finished he would be on his feet and moving again. He couldn't stay in one place, and closing with Cole would not be a smart idea. The other shinobi is doubtlessly the better taijutsu artist. If only Kotetsu had some proper offensive jutsu of his own, he would be able to end this quickly. That was not in the cards right now, and something Kotetsu would need to fix in a hurry. 'Perhaps there's someone in the village that would have some useful techniques that I can be taught. Perhaps I'll need to ask around later to find out for sure. Anyways, back to the matter at hand. I need to figure out how to work this situation out in my favour. All I really have is to try and distract him so I could throw more shuriken, but that's not likely going to always work... I need to fall back to where I won't be in range of him.' Kotetsu will make his way around to where Cole threw the Kunai and pick it up, pocketing it for now. He'll roam around at a distance of 20 meters away from Cole while he tries to come up with a workable solution. Kotetsu was getting a good handle on Cole's abilities though, while giving nothing away of his own. That's not really saying much though, since he didn't really have any abilities to speak of. Perhaps it was time to throw in the towel. It was getting later and he should be making his way over to the other training ground for his the beat down session his exam proctor promised to give him. Kotetsu would stop running and slowly start making his way back towards Cole. "Perhaps we should stop now..." He says to Cole. "I don't really have anything I can use to hurt you at this time, other than the tools in my pouch. I have something else tonight I need to prepare for as well. I can heal those cuts I gave you if you want." 'No sense prolonging this if I can't really do much damage that wouldn't lead to killing him.' He thinks to himself.

Should Cole accept the ceasefire, Kotetsu will make his way over to Cole and apply Basic Medical Ninjutsu to Cole's injured calves, cleaning and pocketing his shuriken in the process. Kotetsu will still remain on guard if Cole decides to attack instead, retreating several meters at his full speed to re-analyse the situation.

Cole missed they attack but just barley cutting into kotetsu's pants. Who retreated almost immediately running away putting distance between them. Cole decided that he would wait and see what kotetsu was thinking before acting. It was never smart to run into anything it when it could be a trap. Cole had noted that kotetsu was a very resourceful person. Cole watched keeping a close eye on kotetsu when he started to walk to him. That was weird cole thought to himself but he kept his guard up bones still pushed out of his body ready to strike.

“Perhaps we should stop now..." Kotetsu said while walking up to cole. He looked like he wasn't playing, but cole knew that you can never be to sure. Even in the academy they teach you that one of the ninjas best tools it detraction. "I don't really have anything I can use to hurt you at this time, other than the tools in my pouch. I have something else tonight I need to prepare for as well. I can heal those cuts I gave you if you want." cole thought about that and he knew the kid was not trying anything. Cole withdrew the bones back into his body and walked over to Kotetsu. “yea if you don't mind that would be nice, I haven't master the C rank version it just the E rank” cole would tell Kotetsu. He would then sat on the ground and pull pants up turning his knee to were kotetsu could work on it. Then repeating the other one.

While kotetsu worked cole would tell him that he wasn't bad and he had real talent as a ninja. However they would both have a lot of work to do to become some of the best. Once Kotetsu was done a man appeared and was walking over to cole and kotetsu. Cole didn't know the man, and didn't know if kotetsu did either, but cole wasn't taking any chances with it. He was a bit tired pulling out a bunch of jutsu in that spar but he was nowhere close to done. Cole would ready himself encase the man tried to attack them.

The man was wearing a hoshi head band they both could see once he got up close. Thats when cole let his guard down a little. The man was also wearing a the normal chuunin level gear, and that put cole off a little. He didn't know why a chuunin was coming over to them. Neither one of them was close to chuunin level at this time. When the man spoke.

“My name is Hanzo and im just dropping off a letter to you cole for a friend of mine” he said. Once Hanzo gave me the letter he vanished into nothing. Cole opened the letter and it read as.

I Valen Akari formally invite you to my training ground at the outskirts of the village tonight at sundown for a training exercise that will help you get on your way to become more powerful. I feel the need to warn you however that the training will in fact be hell. I will not go easy on you, I intend to either make you more powerful. Or simply break you and move on to the next genin that might show promise. Kotetsu Shinogami, another genin, has been invited as well and possess’ the direction to the training ground.

Prepare to hurt, a lot.

Cole looked at Kotetsu “well your going to need some help, and even though we just met were both Hoshi genin and I can't leave you to this alone” cole would tell Kotetsu while waiting for him to lead the way.

It looked like Cole retracted the spikes into his body. 'Spikes of bone then...' Kotetsu thinks to himself. 'Definitely Kaguya then. Good thing we stopped, I was out of my league in this fight with where I'm at in my training. I'll need to get better before I can stand toe to toe with him again.' Cole permitted him to get closer so that they could work on his injuries together. "I haven't completely learned more about medical ninjutsu, but I'd say where I'm at now is more than sufficient to take care of these wounds. Making the hand signs and flowing chakra into his hands, he begins to heal Cole's calves, removing the shuriken delicately, cleaning them off, and replacing them in his pouch. It takes several minutes of concentration since the wounds were deeper than Kotetsu had anticipated. However the job was completed without a hitch. Kotetsu accepted Cole's praise while he worked. "Thank you. I know I have a long way to go, but it definitely helps to hear it from someone else. You're pretty good as well. Definitely better in the taijutsu department. It makes sense for one of the Kaguya clan. Taijutsu is not my strongest suit. I'm built more for Ninjutsu." he says with a chuckle. Once completed, Kotetsu would release the jutsu and pull a kunai out of his pouch. "I believe this is yours?" He says to Cole with a smirk, offering the Kunai to Cole, handle-first.

Almost immediately afterwards, another ninja arrives with a message for Cole. Kotetsu has never seen this Shinobi before. Not surprising since Kotetsu hasn't lived here very long. The jacket however marked him as a Chuunin. His name was Hanzo, or so he says. 'Could be an alias.' Kotetsu thinks to himself as Hanzo disappears in a puff of smoke. Since it would have been rude for Kotetsu to read over Cole's shoulder, he would wait slightly off to the side while Cole reads over the letter. He would then remark that Kotetsu would likely need some help and offer his assistance, to which Kotetsu was confused about until he read the letter himself.

'Ah...' Kotetsu thought to himself. 'That would definitely explain a lot...And his name is Valen. I guess he wants to try to make this a little more fair for us or more fun for him. Either way, it wouldn't hurt to bring some help along.' "I agree. It would be good to have more people, since this will not be easy by myself." he says with a chuckle. "Alright, we may as well make our way over to his training ground while we have the chance." Kotetsu says to Cole. With that he gets up, makes sure that he has all of his ninja tools, and makes his way in the direction of the training grounds that Valen told Kotetsu to meet him at.

Once the man left and cole and kotetsu read over the note it seamed that Kotetsu knew the guy he said his real name was Valen, cole didn't know the guy but that wasn't a surprise really their was a lot of shinobi in the village and cole was just a genin. Cole had already decided to go and help Kotetsu after all it would make for good training and he could get to know kotetsu a little more. Cole already thought he was a pretty cool dude, and that they might be able to form a team togeather and go on missions and stuff. Cole knew that for that to happen though he had to make sure that kotetsu didn't get killed in this training or loose hope either one. Cole knew that even though Valen was suppose to be way more powerful then both of them. That it was possible for him to make a mistake that they could capitalize on.

Cole followed kotetsu out of the training ground and through the entrance of the water gardens. Kotetsu then lead cole to the outskirts of the village to were cole saw a ruined area from battle and a man standing on slab of rock. He would assume that this was Valen.
