Indirectly Completing a Gardening Mission [IO] Empty Indirectly Completing a Gardening Mission [IO]

Mission:

It is healthy for a person to go on regular walks. This is a moderate form of exercise which is available to all who are able to walk at all. And, with little ninja work to be found for Satoru, he desires some way to stay fit. Not that he is eating very much but the muscles must be maintained regardless of how many calories one is consuming. Because of this, Satoru has made his way to the area just around the village gates to stroll along the side of the road and take in the scenery. The Water Gardens are beautiful, yes, but Satoru visits them often and so its sights grow dull after repeated and consecutive visits.

Around this area, there are flower-studded shrubs and other plants meant to enhance the pleasant look of the village. As Satoru strolls, he gazes deep into the plant life. If a person were to be within, tending to the plants, this would not be unexpected. After all, for the purpose of these plants, they must be maintained, right?

Hoshi was always a beautiful place, and it always will with people around to take care of it. Unlike what Satoru stated, Tsume would never get tired of looking at its beauty. And who better to look at the beauty is with than your best friend, in this case with Tsume, his partner Hakucho. Lucky Hakucho could get a literal bird's eye view of the gardens. That made Tsume a bit envious.

While looking at the garden, Tsume spotted a couple of untrimmed bushed. Having nothing else to do, He took out a kunai.  With his accuracy with a blade, the branches stood no chance as he made them even with the others around them. After the first bush was done, Hakucho landed on his shoulder and shrieked. Tsume laughed, "Thank you." Suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, he saw Satoru. Tsume gave a nice wave and smile to greet the stranger walking by. But Hakucho saw the ninja weapon pouch, so he watched Satoru with a watchful, suspicious eye. Hakucho only really trusted Tsume.

Indirectly Completing a Gardening Mission [IO] Empty Re: Indirectly Completing a Gardening Mission [IO]

Ari really had no intention to interact with her comrades for today's mission; they were all simply to perform gardening after all, not a life or death situation. She hurridly made her way to the Birds of Paradise, them being her favourite plant. The height of Ari's 13 year old form meant she could work on the plants without kneeling; a refreshing change to say the least. With utmost care, she began examining the plants for signs of pests immediately. A slight shift of the plant’s stem here, followed by an awkward position leaning over the flower there. With such regular maintenance it was no surprise pests weren't to be found. However, Ari still had to apply countermeasures. Using a homemade bottle of natural dish soap and water, she began spraying the Birds of Paradise everywhere.

A few minutes would pass by while Ari ensured every one of the plants was lightly coated from top to bottom. If any pests were to ruin these plants under her watch.. It would be upsetting.

Eventually she'd finish spraying them over. Satisfying work, gardening was. Ari's job was far from complete though, since the garden beds still required weeding. Getting down on her hands and knees, she closely examined the soil for any unsightly sprouts or foreign materials. When discovering a weed, Ari would dig her hand into the soil to the root before pulling it out whole, using her irregular strength to make the job easy. On top of this, she'd then pat the soil down to make it level once more. A gardener's job was never done since weeds would always find a way back into the soil. For the moment and possibly months into the future, that wasn't an issue.

Unfortunately some of the plants naturally required pruning. Ari didn't carry any scissors but her fingernails with the right speed acted as a close second. Any unsightly leaves had to be removed while dying flowers required cutting, this required cutting the individual stem as close to the base as possible. Doing so meant they would grow back much faster. Wasting no time, Ari carefully examined the flowers and whenever she'd find one to be dead, she'd reach her right hand down to the base of its stem before swiftly flicking it with her right index fingernail. The cuts were clean, using 120 speed. Ari piled up the removed foliage in a compost bin to recycle it. The compost bins likely saved thousands of ryo annually, considering the size of Hoshigakure's gardens.

Practically finished with her task, Ari wiped sweat from her brow before sitting on a bench across from the Birds of Paradise, admiring them. Reporting on the mission, as far as she was concerned, wasn't more important than soaking in the view of one's hard work. This especially applied to gardening, where the reward was the scent and sight. Eventually the sun fell behind the flowers, lighting them up with a brilliant orange hue. Only then did Ari feel comfortable to leave.

Indirectly Completing a Gardening Mission [IO] Empty Re: Indirectly Completing a Gardening Mission [IO]

Revan stood at the entrance to the water gardens, it was a fine sight, ornate gates with artwork made from gold leaf if not just outright made from gold itself, the sound of gently running water could be heard even from here, it was... soothing, of course Revan wasn't a big fan of fancy gardens or meditating to the sound of running water, he'd done it of course, from time to time, meditation even he had found, could be used to increase one's own chakra control although it wasn't exactly what he found a plesant way to spend his time, but it was a necessity in the same way that physical traning was.

At any rate, Revan wasn't here for fun and games, he was here because he was being paid, back home he wouldn't have needed to stoop to such levels but here things were different, his men needed to be equipped, outfitted with gear capable of standing up to the high quality arms of kumogakure's army, he'd filled many a request to his superior's for better gear but they evidently was not going to be approved, such a large well defended village was certainly more stable than yuki had been, but with that, it seemed, came layers and layers of red tape, burocratic nonesnes and idiocracy that would no doubt be what caused the downfall of this village if it ever came.

Shaking his head and turning back to focus on the here and now Revan strode into the gardens, glancing around as his eyes flitted from spot to spot, searching out any potential ambush locations as a matter of pure habit, he noted that the large redwood tree's in the back left of the garden's were more than large enough to hide a person behind them, and that the foliage and shrubbery that surrounded that area could easily hide a number of traps, of course that was highly unlikely given where he was, but even so his mind ticked away at the possibility, an odd sort of coping mechanism he'd developed in place of traditional post traumatic stress.

Revan strode through the gardens and found a nice quiet place in one corner of the garden's, flower bushes, no more than a foot high we're scattered across the area in small clumps of ten, fifteen, and twenty branches, enough to look nice, but not enough for a person to hide under. Pulling out a kunai, Revan lent down and began to trim the bushes, removing old bud's that had failed to bloom completely, trimming off branches that had grown too large and were now putting unnecessary stress upon the rest of the plant, and watering all of the plants's that he was tending too, it was a shame he didn't have a knack for the water nature, it would come in handy here, allowing him to produce water from his hands or rather, his chakra, without the need to travel back and forth from the stream to finish his work.

Satoru is no expert in botany or gardening. However, he is able to tell when a plant is not as beautiful as it could be. Either due to asymmetry, a discolored portion of the plant, or anything else, some of these shrubs do not look optimal in appearance. Some are lopsided, some are large compared to those around them, some have dying branches. All of this slightly disturbs Satoru, a small annoyance. Like a fly buzzing around a room, it cannot be ignored though it is so small. So, rather than walking along and allowing these discrepancies to remain they way they are, Satoru takes it upon himself to do some tidying.

He removes a kunai from his weapon pouch and begins to trim away at some of the plants. The ones around him are all shrubbery with geometric shapes so most of his work is in shaving these plants. As stated before, some are too large, some are partially dead, and some have too many flowers on their surfaces.

With his kunai, Satoru swiftly cuts away millimeter after millimeter from the outside of the shrubs. He is careful not to expose the inner branches of any of these plants as that would make the scene look worse than before. A steady hand and good judgement prevails as the shrubs begin to look more uniform. Those shrubs which were bigger than they needed to be are shrinking. Those with too many flowers are looking more uniform with the bushes around them. Those with dead portions are having them removed and trimmed into new shapes which aided in the scene's beauty.

The final touches are finished. However, one task remains. This is the task of removing the leaf shavings which have been left from the cutting. Their existence in the immediate area makes the scenery look sloppily unkempt. Satoru knows a way of solving this problem as well. With his wind nature affinity, he takes a deep breath inward and expands his chest with air. In one gust, this air is released from his mouth and directed towards the shrubs as well as the ground. The leaf shavings are blown away neatly and the end result is a neat and uniform arrangement of greenery.

Satisfied with this work, Satoru places the kunai back into its place and continues to walk on, enjoying the scenery.

Tsume and Hakucho's comrades weren't all the talkative and they didn't interact much with any of the other team. Tsume would hope that would change in the future but it was only a small mission, so he wasn't too upset. Hakucho, on the other hand, had other thoughts. He was insulted. So much so, Tsume had to tell him, "Haku, calm, we'll talk with them some other time." They went about the rest of their business.

The next thing Tsume saw to do was getting some tiny branches off the tree. Of course, he didn't have to do it the boring way. Tsume started to weave signs. Lately, he had seen and heard of this jutsu, so he went to the library to look it up. It was only a D rank jutsu. Wind Release: Recurve Bow. This was like the wind arrow jutsu but instead, it made the bow to the wind arrow. Which Tsume was excited to learn. He started releasing chakra and forming his chakra nature into a bow shape. Which was easier said than done. The jutsu kept bursting every time he got close to shaping it. It was getting late and most of the team had already headed out. Tsume was, of course, the last to stay because of this jutsu training. Hakucho rested on one of the branches of the nearest tree, waiting for Tsume to get the jutsu down.

Tsume knew he was wasting time, even Haku got impatient. Tsume said. "Ok, maybe later." Tsume finally submitted. The Chokyoshi just took out a kunai and aimed the small branches of the nice looking trees. Then launching the throwing knife toward the doom branch. They spilt from the tree like butter. Hakucho went to grab all the kunai, he was eager to head home. Tsume got the knifes from Hakucho and put them away. "Thanks, buddy, let head home, the mission is over." Hakucho shrieked in agreement.  And off they took back to their own residence.
