Genin Tournament: Xuba vs. Tsume

The day had come. The one Tsume and Hakucho had been waiting for. The day of the tournament. There was excitement in the air. Tsume walked out on the field noticing all the beauty of the field. He's admiring it while it last because it will get destroyed with all the fights going down in it. It was huge, especially for just two people. Well three counting Xuba. Tsume did a inventory check, he had his katana on his left hip, all the stuff in his weapon pouch and his fuma shuriken on his back. Hakucho was resting on Tsume's shoulder. he couldn't wait to see who he was facing. 

Then the kage arose once they were both ready, explaining the rules, which was just no killing. This was the first time ever seeing the kage in person and he looked as bad ass as in the papers and tales of him. He couldn't wait to show the kage what the duo could do.

So the paper that the man known as xuba signed randomly on a fine day. Was a invitation to a tournament. The man felt at peace in the city of his home country so as the tournament drew closer he slowly day by day looked a tad bit more armed. As his usual gear was not normally visible but was on him. By the  tournament day he had worn all but his giant shruiken.

 His amass of smoke bombs, and shruikens, kunai were lined inside his grey cloak. Simply for easy gathering via a specific technique, or for safe retreaval for himself. His katana resting along his right hip in hilt, obscured from vision by his cloak. He doned an amazing pair of silver boots errily glowing with an X symbol on the sides. Arm beads were resting on his upper arms sheilded by an impressive pair of black guantlets that rested up to his elbow's on him.

The errie chain that was wrapped around his shoulders was within easy reach of xuba to weild and utilize as his ideal weapon. Where under his black shirt under the cloak was a flak jacket. His arms could move easily and legs for combat. As he stretched before leaving for the arena.

Upon arriving there the clinking of chain links and the soft ring of metal boots could be heard  acending the stairs like the lacking of stealth. The latter was false these boots were strangely light.

Xuba tested the stairs as he noted there were cracks.

Frail area.... hmmm


Xuba thought as he was half way by this point. By this time xuba lightend his steps and came into view of his challenger. His grey hair and grey eyes fixed on bird and boy as his dark skin cracked into a kind smile.

Upon entering the arena he folded his arms and listend to the kage as the wind blew quietly causing the chains to oddly not move.

The no killing part was expected as rest seemed fair play.

Got it... very well then


Xuba thought as he took a few steps forward in silent awkowledgement. This placing xuba 70 meters from the boy and bird.

Lets begin

A new opponent has entered the battle. Xuba walked out onto the field, standing 70 meters apart from Tsume. He thought that was a lot of space but he figured he could use this to his advantage. The sky was his friend and he could use it to his advantage. Tsume looked at his buddy on his shoulder. "Alright, you know what to do." Hakucho nodded and took to the sky at a speed of 44. Tsume also took off as soon as Hakucho took off from his shoulder at a starting speed of 55.

As soon as Tsume was within 50 meters from Xuba, Tsume swiftly pulled out two shuriken (speed 111) and launched them at where ever Xuba was when he got into the 50 meters of Xuba (speed 74, sharpness 67). The shuriken traveled together, only about a foot apart from each other. 

As Tsume was traveling towards Xuba location, Hakucho sailed 50 meters above the ground and moved behind Tsume as he traveled, using his as a kind of shield from any projectiles the opponent might throw.

Xuba merely walked towards his adversary at a speed of 2.  Taking interest that the boy looked towards the bird and nodded and decided to take action in the boy's lack of focus on the deal.  Watching all of this Xuba with a flick of his left wrist out came a single shruiken  as he observed the boy  as it lay hidden in his cloak. Even if the boy noticed somehow it looked like hardly anything was done. (Hidden arms technique: speed 100)

As he continued walking his grey eyes noting  the bird above traveling an impressive hight above the boy, but also behind the boy. This alone was not a good sign for the boy. Regardless xuba kept an eye on the boy. Deciding when it was best to strike. 


 He would make close to 5 meters As the boy would reach close to 50 meters of traveling before the boy decided to do anything.

As the boy would reach to his weapons pouches to fish for a weapon xuba would grip the unbladed flat side of the shruiken with his right thumb and index finger. By the time the boy was ready to throw xubas eyes caught sight of the shruiken in the boys hands and flicked his left wrist and with this motion he threw the shruiken. Sending the shruiken curving at a 20 degree angle with some added spin towards the boy's left  ankle. As he did this xuba noted the shruiken also being thrown and hence reached with his right hand for the chains on his shoulder unfashoning them. (Throwing speed:172 impact force: 172, sharpness:94, reaction time requirements to track shruiken: 182 thanks to art of the trickshot.)

 If it went through the boy's ankle some how then it will also pierce the earth causing the already weak earth to crumble behind the boy and slice off the part of the earth that led to several cracks appearing through the arena.

Xuba would in turn swing his chain link the weapon known as u indorochen. Capeable of being swung and weilded at his throwing speed. Each shruiken would be batted aside by the chain links at a speed of 172, impact force of 172 with a single lazy flick of his right hand. Making sure he was safe of course. As he deflected the kunai.

"Surely you can do better?"

Xuba stated as he continued to walk forward towards the boy.

-10 hidden arms.

Tsume had made his attack, now it was Xuba's turn to counter. He used his great vision to see Xuba movement and predict. This was easy to do for Tsume with much practice in doing so. Hidden inside his sleeve was a shuriken that he used hidden arms technique to retrieve. He knew that because he also had that technique. Although it was too late for a counter to the shuriken he threw, Tsume was still able to throw his other shuriken. Sadly, that was deflected with a mysterious chain weapon that Xuba kept hidden.

Sense Tsume was stopped because of the shuriken to the ankle, Hakucho flew past Tsume over head, full of momentum (speed 83). He was still 50 meters up from the ground, so he would fly over Xuba. Tsume had collapsed to one knee due to his wound but he still needed to get his buddy in position. So he pulled off his fuma shuriken at a speed of 111 and slapped a paper bomb on it. Then he hurled it at Xuba after infusing it with wind chakra. (speed 74, sharpness 132, health 80). The fuma shuriken was headed towards Xuba. Once the blades had reached Xuba or at least got to where he was, the chokyoshi would detonate the bomb. The explosion was 50 speed and the power was 50. 

Hakucho saw this attack coming so he rose to 70 meters high and flew over the explosion. He would stop and hover 5 meters behind Xuba 70 meters high. The fuma shuriken was unharmed and flew off 20 meters to the right of the explosion.

The shruiken did its work so it sent the boyto a knee. It was a shame, but regardless xuba continued on. As the boy reached for a fuma shruiken xuba reached into the folds of his cloak at full speed and with careful hands. Producing a kunai as the boy began to work on setting a tag to the large shruike.

Smart kid, but i have been around a long time. Your buddy wont do as much either.... ah well


Xuba thought as he watched as the bird decided it was best to fly up above and well it was a bird. If he wished to go hunting he would the boy was his thought now as the boy had fight in him.

The fuma shruiken  thrown by the boy which he watched with admiration that the boy would prepare to throw the shruiken. All this time xuba kept walking towards the boy. Remaining at his  pace of 2. Closing about 3 meters placing the man and the boy 42 meters apart. Xuba kept this slow pace untill the boy threw the shruiken.

 While it did travel fast xuba decided for the sake of simplicity  to begin to running at a speed of 64 to his left to simply avoid the fuma shruiken reaching a solid 15 meters from it by the time it reached where xuba was originally.  As it continued on its straight path. Xuba ran in a semi circle to his left (tsume's right) as he knew the large thing was not that hard to avoid. Especially since he kept a certain pace in a certain direction for awhile.  The shruiken hence continued on its way and xuba threw his kunai, adding spin to it like the shruiken. This time it was aimed at the boy's right shoulder.(speed:172, impact force:172, sharpness:94, reaction time requirements to track:182) 


Moving in the semi circle xuba closed the distance steadily as once he did a full circle  he was 20 meters from the boy. All the while keeping an eye on both the boy and the shadow of the bird. Walking slowly was to simply draw the thrown weapon. Now he really was going to move.

This is why you never throw a weapon unless you are sure to hit, or make a diffrence... live and learn as tbey say.

Xuba thought as he was going to pick the boy apart like he assumed his partener the bird did. At the most his goal was to disrupt the unusual team work they had.

Walking? Walking?! Tsume was almost insulted that he wasn't taking this seriously. Although Xuba did dodge the fuma shuriken and the explosion. But after the dodge he went back to walking. The shuriken he threw curved and swiped passed his shoulder, cutting it. It wasn't impossible to move his arm as it was merely a scratch to his shoulders. It was now the duo's turn. 

Tsume took out his katana at a speed of 111 and circled it around his body, making after images. Tsume then charged at Xuba at a speed of 80. Once reaching at Xuba, moving about 20 meters, he slashed at his legs with a speed of 161 needing 181 RT to see the action. But he didn't stop to slash, he continued moving after the slash about 10 meters. If the attack hit, standing out be very painful. He didn't cut off his legs but merely slashed at his shins deeply, something medic could easily fix.

Hakucho, having been hovering above Xuba, was 50 meters off the ground 5 meters behind Xuba, making him 25 meters away from Tsume went he started the action. Hakucho started to descend from his hovering, making it about 30 meters by the time Tsume was behind Xuba if all things went to as said. That should teach Xuba not to understatement his opponents.

The fight in the boy's eyes was truely amazing. Apparently  a person was able to walk on a shin that was  yet alone run. Still as xubas eyes were on the  boy as he did his sword thingy xuba acted.

He must be in pain? Perhaps these guys can actually fight? Or i could be wrong.... oh well


Xuba thought as he merely weaved an unique handsign by lifting his arms  in a cross fomation. The chains clinked and clacked as xuba inhaled deeply. The muscles buldged and his eyes glowed as the boy would reach his 5 meters his multiple after images easy to see as the real one took the forefront. Hence activating seven heavens breathing. (+60 strength and speed, final speed: 185, final strength:130)

So the boy was within range and xuba still running at his slow speed of 64. Xuba shortend his chain end side to a meter so the weight of the chain was on the ground. He saw the boy prepare his horizontial slash to his legs as the arm would draw back. Well in xubas case he wouldve been a goner should he not have  took a quick step back and crossed infront of the boy mid his jog, as he calculated the tradgetory of the slash  he merely  flicked his wrist holding the chain at max speed as the boy's blade was close to a foot from his body.

Now as this chain was special since it could be swung at xubas throwing speed xubas target was the blunt flat of the blade. So hence the chain weight would  be swung from underneath the boy. (Chain speed: 232 (+10 from skill,+25 from strong arm beads) impact force 232) and with the artful eye xuba would minimize damage by hitting the center of the blade attempting to slash his shins. Which he was confident unless by a miricle the  boy's attempted slash  would be stopped.

Sadly with control come intent, his goal was to shatter that nice blade and send it ripping from tsune's hands as his hope for being the uber samurai were going to be quashed before the man.  If anything the mere force would send the boy heavenward as well due to the impact from the chain. With a shattered blade.

With the clash xuba would still focus on the bird as well since he now moved much faster then the bird in flight he kicked up to his max speed and  ran around the arena. With the boy hopefully spiraling mid air several feet up, but perhaps higher due to the diffrence in strength.

Seven heavens A ranked -40

Xuba was a challenging foe. Tsume was getting close when he activated some kind of speed and strength boosting jutsu. This was especially troublesome when it allowed the opponent to see the blade and shatter the katana. Though Tsume liked the blade, his goal wasn't smashed with the blade and his goal wasn't to become a samurai, it was to be respected in the village he loved dearly. Maybe he would make someone like Xuba respect him. Xuba attack wasn't over though, he then kicked Tsume away (since it wasn't really specified where he was kicked so my guess would be to the right of Tsume because Xuba was on his left.) Hakucho then changed his course. Since Tsume was most likely 5 meters in the air, Haku was able to reach to him at the peak of his launch. Tsume saw the bird pal coming towards him and so transformed him into a clone of himself so the white winged falcon could catch his pal in the air. (My guess is that Hakucho's strength was strong enough to catch him unless you wanted to kill Tsume then you'd be disqualified)

If Tsume wasn't dead from the bone breaking kick, Hakucho would catch him in his clone form and descend safely down the rest of the way about 5 meters from Xuba. He got Tsume to stand around his arm. The Chokyoshi's rib was cracked, he wasn't doing so well. A normal person would have given up but Tsume wasn't going to, Hakucho knew that. Hakucho was the same way. 

Now it was time for their counter. Hakucho let go of Tsume and jumping up in the air for a heavenly foot of pain. He jumped at Xuba and crashed at Xuba position (speed 109 and strength 55). If avoided to let Hakucho crash to the ground, it would cause the ground to crack. 

At the same time Hakucho jumped, Tsume, trying not to put to much on his ankle and not move his torso that much, preformed body flicker (speed 126). He arrived at Xuba's left side and turned odachi from ring form to sword form and infusing it with lightning chakra (speed of transformation: 150 speed of swing: 111 sharpness of blade: 156). He swiped a his left leg with the lightning blade. If Xuba avoided, Hakucho and Tsume wouldn't hit each other with their attacks. But the swing of Tsume's would make him cough up some blood and feel weaker after the swing.
