Five Tails vs Valen and Hikari

Well this day had its ups and downs. 

First off, he was surprised to learn from Kyousuke-Sama that he was being named Deputy Kage of the Village of Hoshigakure. That meant that whenever Kyousuke was indisposed or out of the village than he himself would be in charge in his stead. It was a massive promotion for the shinobi and it meant that he was one step closer to one day becoming the kage himself should Kyousuke decide to step down. It meant he would be responsible for the lives of all of the villagers when it came down to it and was a huge responsibility. One he wasn’t sure he was ready for but would still give it his full effort. It wasn’t a secret that he would put his life on the line in a heartbeat to defend his home. Now however, it was time to move already. As the downside of the day was that there were readings of a massive chakra signature in the country of Haven coming from the general direction of the Southwest. It could be many things, a bijuu perhaps, a massive invasion force that was grouped close enough to be felt as a single entity. Or a single immensely powerful ninja came to mind immediately. 

He was dispatched to deal with the chakra signature, his mission was to track said signature and maintain the safety of the village by any means necessary. The jounin was taking no chances with this one, meaning he was fully garbed in his signature cloak and his new armor. The only thing different about the day was the appearance of a new sword compared to the usual one. This one was named ‘Lightguard’ and it had the ability to greatly increase it’s defensive capabilities should push come to shove. His normal blade, Twilight, lay in the safety of his Storage Displacement, ready to be called at a moment’s notice if the situation called for it. 

An interesting fact about this mission thought was that he wasn’t dispatched alone. Indeed, he had been sent out with someone he hadn’t even seen in weeks. Not since he had confessed his love for the girl she helped him obtain the blade that was currently stored in the safety of a pocket dimension. Hikari Namikaze, he had been surprised when he had seen her again, barely managing to get out a greeting and a compliment in his moment of embarrassment. He didn’t know what the girl thought of him at this point. As she had left to get space in their last encounter and he had done his best to give it to her. Not trying to seek her out for her thoughts on his confession. Now however they were on a mission, even if it was rather uneventful so far although the telepathy seal they had that linked each other would certainly be helpful in making sure anyone around couldn't hear them. The last eventful thing that happened in the village actually was the death of his mentor, Denkiteki Hayato. When it happened the Gobi that he housed within him had escaped and run off before anyone could restrain it. The shock of the day still lingered in Valen and somewhere inside he desperately wanted to obtain the bijuu for the good of the village.

Well….. this was the most awkward and avoidable situation possible.

There were a lot of mistakes made that would have made running through the desert of Haven with Valen Akari either unnessicarly, or at least not this strange. The first mistake was probably on the part of Lord Kyousuke , for not telling the Village’s Fuinjutsu expert about the jinjuriki that was in the village. Perhaps the Hogokae didn’t know that a Bijuu sealed inside a jinjurki would escape upon the death of the vessel it was in, or maybe the nature energy user didn’t realize that Hikari had the ability to stop the beast, either by sealing it or defeating it. Either way it didn’t mater.

After all, this mission might have been enjoyable, if it wasn’t for the awkard tension between Hikari and Valen, which was the fault of no one but Hikari.

Ever since the Akari boy had confessed his feelings to Hikari, the Kunochi had…. Well…. She had been avoiding the Weapon user. Not only had she been going out of her way to avoid running into Valen in the streets of Hoshigakure, but the girl had been spending all of her time away from the entire dimension, trying to get her feelings on the matter in order. However… the girl had gotten distracted, working on seals, working on Hikariton jutsu, and working on theories of how space and time worked. That being said, the girl hadn’t had much time to figure out her feelings. As such, this was a very silent trip, the two Hikariton weiding Jounin wouldn't talk as they moved through the desert of Hoshigakure. At least, this was why Hikari stayed quite.

The dark haired boy on the other hand, Hikari wasn’t sure why he wasn’t talking. It might have been for the same reason, but there was also something else. Hikari knew that Val and the Serpent Sage were close, but the girl didn’t know how close. Was the death of his mentor still bothering him? This scared the girl, if it did bother him, then there was a possibility that Hikari would have to take on the bulk of this mission alone, and the teenager wasn’t sure that she could take down a tailed beast without Valen's blade by her side.

The other thing that it could be was the fact that Kyousuke-Sama had just named Valen the deputy kage of Hoshigakure. It seemed strange that the young genin Hikari had once met in the training grounds was most likely going to be the fourth Hogokage of the star village, however, Hikari was also very proud of the dark haired Jounin for coming so far.

Shaking off these feelings, Hikari would continue moving behind Valen at a speed of 50, a mere few feet behind him, actively sensing for the demon the Akari assassins were hunting.

Kokuo stats:

Well........ that day certainly had some downs. The two lovebirds that were crashing into Gobi's peaceful retreat were evidently counted among those. And it angered the five tailed Bijuu. Kokuo regarded itself as the most calm and peaceful among its kin, it had no wish to conflict with humans or anything. And yet, since the day of the Snake Sage's passing it has been chased wherever it went, it had to run from country to country, hunted like some animal. And now, Gobi's rage-filled eyes would observe Denkiteki's own student coming "to claim the prize". The betrayal, viciousness and cruelty of these creatures knows no bounds.

In this arid landscape at night, as the two Jounin from Hoshigakure were making their way through it, a dune some distance before them would seem to shift and move. Kokuo's head would shortly peek before its full form would come into view. The massive chakra that was suppressed until this point would now burst out, encompassing the entire area. The stars would disappear at the Bijuu reared and its five tails fanned out behind it. This was a show of force, a last resort in trying to avoid battle. There was some hope that the two would not engage. But knowing their nature, Kokuo prepared. As its aura expanded, roared and shook the ground, it's true form shrank and condensed. The beast knew the inconvenience of fighting the small forms of humans. In a moment it would be four meters tall and six meters long, with the tails reaching another 5 meters past that. Gobi's horse legs were close to 3 meters long and it's head and horns were about a meter big. The aura would fade and the beast would stare at the two ninja 50m before it and 5m apart, letting out a roar that would echo through this barren wasteland that was the Haven country. Clearly, not a haven to all.

(Well, it doesn’t look like we are talking.)

The Kunochi felt the cold desert air brush up against her bare arms as she ran through the land amidst this starry night.  Alas, there was an oddly peaceful tone that through the desert, making it was hard to believe that in a moment’s notice, this entire landscape could become a battlefield. In the back of the girl’s mind, Hikari wondered what they were going to do when they found the beast. In the first Hogokage’s will, The Fuinjutsu misstress had found a request that the bijuu was not to be sealed inside another host. If Hikari could, she would love to be allowed follow through on that promise, but that all depended on what the beast wanted, and what the Deputy Kage that led this mission ordered. It went without saying that Hoshigakure couldn’t let demon walk through the world uninhibited. After all, another village might try to seal it inside one of their shinobis, and then not only would Hoshi have not kept its word to the beast, but another village would have it as a weapon to use against the village hidden among the stars.  

Cutting the Chestnut haired woman from her thoughts, Hikari would look and see Valen would suddenly move to the side and stop, Which would cause the magical girl to do the same, turning on her golden eyes and casting her gaze toward the direction of the Dune as well. The girl stood about 54 meters away from the dune, whereas Valen stood about 50 meters away, and with her golden eyes, the girl laid eyes upon the five tails, feeling its massive chakra as it overwhelmed her entire being. This…. this insane energy… this insane desire to kill… how were the two teens supposed to defeat something so powerful?

No, the Kunochi didn’t have the time nor the luxury to think like this, if the demon was allowed to walk free, who knows what would come of it in the long term.

As if to break the somber mood, Valen would crack a little bit of a joke, causing the girl to give a slight smile, Hikari wasn’t used to hearing the Dark Prince joke around like that, but it was glad to hear the situation wasn’t that somber that the two couldn’t afford to joke around.

Shortly after, Valen would discuss a plan over the telepathy link that Hikari and Val shared. Of course, it went without saying that Hikari trusted her fellow Hikariton user, but still….. what was the weapon expert thinking? Surely he didn’t expect the Kunochi to hold off such a powerful demon for too long. However, Val surely knew of Hikari’s abilities and trusted her atleast that much. With a nod of her head, the Jounin would respond over the telepathy link. “Understood, I trust you Valen. However, I don’t know how long I could stand against such a powerful opponent. So please, Hurry.”

With that, Valen would cry out like a coward, screaming how the two weren’t able to handle such at threat, and proceeded to disappear in a flash of light. Did…. Did Valen expect anyone to buy that? Valen had just been joking about the Gobi, and suddenly out of nowhere he was now scared of it? Well, perhaps the former resident of Denkiteki hadn’t of heard the boy’s joke, but honestly, Hikari had doubted that. It didn’t matter too much though, as Hikari’s job didn’t change. She just needed to distract the monster long enough for the deputy Kage to do his thing.

Starting to back pedal away from the beast (Speed of 60, as Hikari had stopped and now is moving again.) It was a good thing that they were in the desert where there wasn’t much more then a few hills, Hikari could probably back pedal for a few Kilometers not run into anything. As she did that, the girl would call out, aiming her voice towards Val playing up the narrative, “FINE! LEAVE YOU COWARD! I WILL FUFILL THIS MISSION MYSELF!”

As she screamed this comment out, the Jounin would form some hand signs (Speed 120), and start charging up her most powerful technique, Caelesti Lumine, or the Heavenly Light. Keeping her eyes toward the beast, Hikari would keep going backward, until she was about 150 meters away from the monster.

The Ball was now in the Bijuu’s court, would it attempt to chase after Hikari? Would it stay put? Or would it use this opportunity to flee. Only time would tell these answers.

Gobi noted how the two suddenly stopped as they spotted it. After a short phrase there would now be a lengthy silence that would soon be disturbed by the sound of rain starting to fall. Indeed, the heaven darkened with Kokuo's will and now the clouds that covered the stars would start pouring rain onto the desert, rain that was heavily infused with the beast's chakra. The silence was annoying to the five tailed dolphin-face. It seemed scheming and insulting, they weren't just surprised, they were a threat. And they would feel the full wrath of the great calamity that was Gobi.

Not waiting for a telepathic debate that it knew nothing about to finish the beast would charge forward with its jaws wide open and white steam billowing out. Three blasts of pure heat would fan out, streaking towards the ninja of Hoshigakure before the male one could activate his technique. One of the steam bullets was aimed to hit directly where the female stood, one was sent to go past that and land 10 meters directly behind her and the third bullet was meant to land 5 meters to the right of where the male stood.

It was over

The Gobi charged while he was trying to speak. He would never manage to react in time to the bullets. 

Nah, just kiddin

The Gobi was impatient it seemed. It wouldn’t even allow two folks to have a perfectly reasonable conversation about one not abandoning the other, how rude. The moment that ‘Puff The Magic Dolphin-Pony began to move forward the dark haired teen would abandon his plan to telepathically communicate with the Fuinjutsu Mistress and activate the technique he had intended to use last post, Fade Out. He would have to hope she knew he wouldn’t abandon her to such a beast. The technique in question would phase him out of existence far faster than the bullets could move. Even if he was still there when the quadruped fired them, and seeing as his technique took hold at over twice the speed the bullets traveled. Well, you get the idea. 

As his world marginally changed shades to signify his techniques completion he would begin to move. Intending to formulate a plan of attack while the beast was incapable of knowing where he was. It shouldn’t be hard to figure something out, they were sent out here under the impression that they had the tools necessary. It was just a matter of putting them to the proper use. Of course once the bullets were fired they would explode once it hit their destinations, but he wouldn’t be anywhere near there. Nor would he be within the same phase of existence. His choice of destination was forward of course, moving his body toward the beast as it charged. He need to get a closer look at the beast to decide how to handle this situation, needed to study it up close for the limited time he was within this phase.

Hikari Noticed that Val had left her, and decided to do the same.

It appeared that Gobi had no intention to let the two have a moment to talk as it would start to charge at the two of them (moving at a speed of 50) and would instantly would release blast of steam hurdling toward the two. Talk about a horrifying image, to see a monster with such a powerful chakra presence charging at her with a full intention to kill, something that would make most shinobi scared out of their wits.  The Kunochi Saw Valen suddenly disappear as soon as the steam blast went off. If the person to her side was just about anyone else, Hikari would of thought that Valen was running away, but not this Jounin. The Fuinjutsu misstress figured he was probably setting up some sort of attack. As such, the Kunochi knew she needed to be in a position to support him whenever was needed. With that, the Jounin would suddenly telleport away while the steam was far away from her, teleporting back to a safe location in the Sakura Feilds in Lux Aeterna, where the steam blast from the bijuu's attacks wouldn't reach her.  (Speed of either 70 or 120, I don't know of chakra scaling/substat boosters count when it comes to teleports.) With that, Hikari would look back at the mortal realm to where Valen was, useing the Eye of Heaven, trying to figure out what his plan was and how she could help him.

As soon as the two presences disappeared, the rain no longer dropping on their physical forms, Gobi would assume they got terrified and rightfully fled. Without even losing momentum, at about 45m from where Denkiteki's student used to stand, Kokuo would make a turn right and continue full speed towards the Earth Country. Better get out of this blasted wasteland before more of these creatures show up.
