Learning the Transformation Technique
Tue Apr 03, 2018 4:03 am
Staring at the chalkboard from the back of the classroom was beginning to get old with Suzume. Another lesson…more reading…she just wanted to get it over with. As the teacher droned on, she kept an eye on the clock, waiting to learn this jutsu so she could finally get to the genin exams. Of course, day dreaming away wouldn’t get that done. Realizing she hadn’t taken any notes since the instruction started, she grasped a pencil swiftly and jotted down everything on the board. She sighed in how complex this one was, not being so sure if she would be able to manage it.
The teacher called up a first small group of students to give it a try. All of which failed miserably. Suzume kept in mind that this wasn’t a jutsu that would be accomplished on the first, second, or possibly even the third try to prevent herself from becoming disenchanted. She watched at the way her fellow classmates were going about to approach this one. Some tried similar methods to the clone jutsu, others were completely lost. After a few other groups went up in front to try it, Suzume was called up along with some students she sat next to.
Hesitant to do anything at first, she waited for the others to do something first. But then her teacher gave her a sharp look, saying, “Suzume, you need to do it too.” Now a bit embarrassed that she was called out, she attempted something. Spreading her chakra throughout her whole body, she looked at the classmate beside her and meant to transform to them. Although, the result was far beyond that. Hers was some inhuman looking type of thing that wouldn’t fool any ninja…not even an orphaned infant. Just about everyone laughed at her, but she retorted, “Like any of you have done better”. Deflated that she did so horribly, she dejectedly walked back to her seat – hoping to hone her skills on this one at home.
Once school was over, she threw her backpack on the floor once home and immediately took out her notebook to review how to do this jutsu. She wanted to avoid any humiliation when tested for this, and even strived to be the best. Ignoring her doubts in not being able to do it, she gave it a few more tries – using the classmate as something to transform to. Looking at the mirror to see if any attempt was any better, she saw that there wasn’t much improvement. She sat back a moment and thought more about what her classmate looked like, maybe that’ll do something.
Creating enough courage to practice a bit more, Suzume focused more on using her chakra to appear as her classmate rather than spreading it all throughout her. This worked a little better, now being able to get in some facial features that looked more human. She was somewhat frustrated with herself that she didn’t do it this way the first time. But soon, she was becoming worn out from emitting so much chakra, and decided to give it a rest until tomorrow.

Another day at school, once again her class was working on the transformation jutsu. Some students showed absolutely no progress, while others managed to do a pretty good job. When Suzume brought up what she had completed, he teacher was pleased that she had made some progress. Suzume took an analytical look at her classmate she was practicing with. Now having a better image of what to aim for, she was a little more confident that she could do this well. She new what she needed to do to advance above her other classmates.
Once again home, she focused on specific aspects to truly understand the process of performing this jutsu. She figured she go from head to toe. Beginning with their hair, Suzume had to figure out how to make her dark hair turn light. Playing around with how she used the chakra, she eventually figure it out by forming the chakra around her hair to reflect light differently. She figured it would be the same with her eyes. As for their body structure, Suzume used her chakra similarly as she would with clay to form herself to be more like her classmate. Now having a well formation of this other classmate, Suzume knew she would do well when the time came to be tested on this.
At last, the time would come. This time, she was to perform it by herself. After waiting for several students to either make it or break it, Suzume stepped up and did just as she had done the night before. Putting her chakra to her hair, then her face, and continuing down until the tips of her toes were reach, she would smoothly execute the technique with the best accuracy.
