Oh dear, not another super topic! (private, wip)

The sun rose slowly over the misty island upon which she resided, little traces of glowing light shining down between breaks in the clouds. The storm which surrounded Kirigakure raged on, and from her position she could just see it. She resided on the second smallest and least inhabited island which made up Hidden Mist, but she was fine with that- company was not something she appreciated. Yawning, she pulled of the warm covers and made her way outside her beach cottage. The wooden porch was slightly damp beneath her feet, and when she stepped her way onto the sand, it clung to her feet. She inhaled... And then exhaled. It was time to get to work.

Today, she was attempting to learn the Rainbow Fort Seal. She had learned a little bit earlier, of course, but it was by no means perfect. The crashing waves touched her toes as she waded in to the water. What was a better way to test the barrier than by seeing its power against an unrelenting force? Mostly, she was curious as to how long she could maintain it, but... She wanted to see how it would hold up against a constant onslaught. Her hands twisted into the seal of confrontation and she extended her hand forwards. She could see the shimmering outline of the technique. A larger wave than usual crashed forwards, but like an invisible wall was in its way (which there was) it suddenly stopped a meter away from her hand. Water poured around the edges of the technique. Investigating the barrier and slowly lowering her arm, she tilted her head. It seemed to be holding up fine... Another wave slammed into it and visible cracks spread alongside the surface. She scratched her head awkwardly. Well, she just HAD to jinx it, didn't she? By the time a third wave collided, the barrier had shattered entirely, leaving three waves worth of water to pour into the young woman. She stumbled backwards but did not fall. The wave crashing thing seemed like a good idea for practicing, but there was no way to tell how it would hold up against an actual attack. The best she could do was keep hammering it out until the technique was perfected to the best of her ability. Yatagarasu tried to summon the Rainbow Fort Seal again, but was surprised when nothing happened. Reeling, she tried to find possible solutions. Did this particular technique have a cooldown period of some sort?
