In the meantime (Sakana)

Kyson nodded as he listened to the boy. It was definitely something that needed to be looked into. If they were indeed traitors or prisoners that would be a problem. Though.. who was he to talk. He betrayed the village 6 years ago when he left on his own. So he kind of felt like a hypocrite to speak on it. But nonetheless, what he did back then was wrong as well. Only thing was he didn't get caught. And he spent his 2 days in jail to make up for it. Which probably wasn't much but tried at least. He doesn't know much of the newer Kumo shinobi since he is still learning faces and names. And he hasn't been in this village for too long to know them all just yet. But

"Yeah that is a problem and could definitely cause a lot of issues in the mere future." He said as they approached the gates. There were two Jounin shinobi watching over the gates at a small stand right next to the entrance of the village. "I'm here to see the village logs on who's been in and out." Kyson would say. One of the Jounin would acknowledge Kyson's request and proceed to please his needs. Taking a paper that showed the entry/exit logs for the village. Kyson would nod at Sakana to go look at the information for himself. Since he knows the names or at least met the people before. It be better if he looked through them anyway. After moments pass by, the Hozuki would ask. "Found anything yet?" Hopefully Sakana found what he was looking for.

The Meijin nodded at Kyson when the kage finally spoke and understood what Sakana was trying to get him to understand. Another moment or so passed before they arrived at the gates and Kyson called off the guards. Mountains of papers were brought onto the stand. Kyson gave the chuunin his approval to look through the papers.
 
The first few moments were spent sifting through the logs to try and get back to their departure a year ago. Once he found that he could go on from there looking for Satoru Nara. All in all it took around twenty minutes to go through a year’s worth of logs but the genin was nowhere to be found on the list. “Here’s the record of him leaving.” Sakana would point to the name on the list, “I just looked through the rest of the logs and there isn’t any mention of him coming back in. Which there could be a number of possible explanations for but none of them are good. What do you think?” Sakana looked back to Kyson who presumably watching he read through papers for the past twenty minutes.

He showed Kyson the proof where the Kumo shinobi signed out of the village but never signed back in. This was indeed a problem. So it seems that his hunch was correct, which makes things a bit complicated. We aren't sure if this ma was captured, killed, or betrayed us. And it could possibly cause us problems in the mere future. "Yeah this could be a problem. We're not sure why he hasn't come back. But like you said, either possibility doesn't result in a good one." He said in response. He would then let off a sigh as he began to scratch his head.

"Its always one thing after another with this place... Welp, I guess that's one more thing to look into." He would say. If it wasn't for Sakana, he would have never knew about this. Well, it seemed they got the information that they needed. "Follow me real quick,  we'll go for a little walk." Kyson would say as he walked away from the gates. He would continue walking for a few minutes until he was at a location with nobody watching. If he were to follow, they would arrive at a dark alley, the place wasn't that dark but it was out of sight from everyone. The boy would probably be confused why he was here but this was important.

Sakana nodded his head in confirmation as Kyson relayed his thoughts backs to him. The case of the missing genin was enough to cause the village to going into a panic, if that’s what the deputy wanted. Keeping things, a secret could be an option if he wanted to not raise alarms. The Meijin only met the missing kid once and didn’t really have any feelings towards him but he was still one of the village’s own and that meant something around here. Although you can never really tell who’s who in the village anymore, the population has changed dramatically over the past couple of years. Kumogakure went from a nice happy village to a location of war and destruction, to a new period of imperialism. Nowadays the village contains citizens and soldiers from different countries. Maybe one of the countries planned to break free from Kumo rule or maybe he was just some kid who decided he like sand life better than the snow. There wasn’t any way to know without a formal investigation.  
 
“Yeah, no rest for the weary I suppose,” Sakana said as he smiled sympathetically. He shuffled some of the papers into a bundle and placed them back neatly on the stack in front of him. Kyson requested that Sakana follow him back into the village. But just as the two started to walk a ninja would run up to the deputy kage with an urgent look on his face, asking for his immediate attention. Rather than putting Kyson into an awkward situation, Sakana said “Go be the kage, just call me in when you get a second and we can continue our discussion.” The boy started to walk back towards the village to see if anything interesting was happening.
