Real men don't ask for directions [Yurei, NK] Empty Real men don't ask for directions [Yurei, NK]

It was a bright, crisp morning in the village of Kumogakure. Unfortunately for Tsukuyomi, that meant that the rot smelled particularly awful- she wrinkled her nose in distaste as she lugged around a massive backpack, filled brim to brim with scrolls for different techniques that she, ahem, had borrowed without permission from her parents. It was a simple gray in color, and matched her darker clothing perfectly. She swept some bleached white bangs behind her ear, providing her hair with an awkward off center appearance as she continued down the street. She passed a few Virulent Civilians, which she made a careful berth to avoid, as well as a handful of regular citizens. She gave them all a cheerful wave as she passed, which resulted in mostly confused stares, and to the ones that had already encountered her in the past, an exasperated roll of the eyes. Her upbeat personality, a thing that was sharp in contrast to the dreary atmosphere of the village, more often than not annoyed the people she was trying to cheer up. Not that she knew that, of course. A huge smile graced her lips as her steady walk sped up into a jog, and then a delightful (to her, anyways) skip. She passed a few more people as she went by.

"Hi baker dude! Hi Miss Kito! Hi virulent civilian (please don't puke on me)!" She shouted as she progressed. She scratched her head awkwardly as she approached an alley. This... wasn't the right way, was it? She swore she had taken this path so many times before! Where were the training grounds supposed to be, anyhow? Surely not this hard to find. Oh well, she'd just train in the town square! That way, she could get feedback from lots of different people! Cheerful attitude restored, she resumed her bounding gait back through winding streets and rot infested roads, eventually arriving at the town square. It was scarcely populated, of course. But there were a few people there that she knew... "Hey, I know you!" she shouted, pointing her finger at a shorter man who passed her by. He turned towards her for a second before rolling his eyes and walking away, thick black coat hugging tight against his body. "You're the one who's having an affair with Miss Kito!" at that word, a few other people turned to her, and the man turned an interesting shade of red. "Yeah! I saw you climbing out of her window last night!" he attempted to get away, head pulled down. A few citizens in the area rolled their eyes at her antics, and she raised her right hand in a huge, goofy wave. "Bye! Tell miss Kito I said hi next time you see her!" when he didn't reply, she sulked for a second. Did he not want to be friends? All she did was tell everyone he was having an affair. Humph. Maybe if he wasn't so obvious about it, she wouldn't have known. Tsukuyomi turned back to her backpack filled with scrolls, setting it on a bench and opening one at random. The scroll was compact, but seemed to be very long. Ugh, reading. None the less, she unfurled it to its full length of around four feet and began to read, kicking her legs up as she sat on a bench. She ended up putting both legs on the other side of the bench, sitting sideways and taking up the maximum amount of room possible.

The smell of rot began to tickle her nose, and she sneezed to herself a few times, almost dropping the scroll on more than one occasion. The scroll itself seemed to detail something called Ephemeral, a B ranked genjutsu that... was used for torture or something? Making people fall asleep? It was kind of unclear in that department, but she'd read on anyways. After around ten minutes of furrowed brows and confused muttering, she figured it would be best to put it up for now and try something else. She furled it back up unceremoniously, the messy scroll slightly wrinkled in her grasp as she stuffed it back into her backpack. She slung it over her shoulder, zipping it up as she did so and began to whistle a little tune. The loud groan of a zombie interrupted her song, and she furrowed her brow in disgust before she carefully fixed her expression. You never knew who could be watching, after all. In response, of course, she whistled louder, pacing furiously as she did so. Where to go next? What to do? Maybe she could go and take some candy from the secretary at the Raikage's office. She usually didn't mind. And maybe she could pick up a mission while she was at it, and feign to the village the fact that she was productive and not a huge loser at all. Mind set up, she began to walk down the streets, passing more citizens, zombies, and a few actual ninja as she did so. Eventually, she scratched her head, and was forced to come to a horrible conclusion. She was lost once again. Groaning to herself, she turned on her heel and walked the other way. None of the streets, landmarks, or buildings looked familiar. Where was she? Tsukuyomi bit her lip. A hospital stood proudly nearby, except for the fact that it was decrepit and kind of gross. Once again, she was forced to admit her own faults and lean against the nearest building- probably someone's house- and try to regain her sense of direction. So, she was near a hospital which was north- wait, no, was it south? She scratched her head once more. Maybe she could do that thing where you turn left at every intersection. Last time she tried it, she arrived back at her house in only three hours. It wasn't like she had anything better to do, after all. She yawned to herself. Directions in Kumo were such a pain to remember.
