Chuunin Exam: Hato Sano vs Mara Asano

Roaring could be heard inside the tunnels in which Hato traveled through. The feel of cheers from every individual could be felt through the blonde's bones. The stadium was also huge, one of the biggest Hato has ever fought in. The stair case leading up to the top ring covered a 30 meter height. The large rings that surrounded each other would be useful, Hato would conclude.

Hato's attire would still be the same as she planned before they even left for the chunin exams. It was black button up shirt that had a collar attached to it. The buttons only went to her upper breast. Then her black fingerless gloves that allowed her to bare her claws. Below the button up shirt was some black short-shorts that were not only if she needed them to gain advantage, but also to maneuver around the field with little restrain from the clothes she wore. Then came her black heeled boots that went a little above the shin. Finally, she attached her whip to her right side and then weapon pouch just above the black boots on the left side and right side. The weapon pouch on her left held her 5 shuriken, 5 kunai and the one on her right held her 2 smoke bombs, 3 pumpkin bombs, and two explosive tags.

The vampires opponent would be Mara Asano, a genin of Kumokagure. Hato was really looking forward towards the genin of other villages but that sadly wouldn't be the case this time. She had never met Mara and hence had never seen her fight. Her interest with this battle still wouldn't be doused.

Hato would wait for her opponent as soon as she reached the top ring. Traveling 10 meters into the center of the ring. She waved to the crowd as she travled with a swing in her hip. What could she say? She was a people pleasure at heart.

Hato's Stats:

The deafening cheers as Mara Asano ascended the stairs into the Chuunin Exam Arena seemed to shake the walls, in addition to shaking the young Genin's nerves. There were so many people here. So many more than she had previously known. And every single one of them would be watching her.

Her heart felt about to leap out of her chest. Her mind was racing at 1000 thoughts a minute. But the second her foot hit the dirt floor of the arena, it all seemed to go quiet.

The roaring of the crowd was still there of course. But her mind had shut out the nervousness and the fear. It was relevant, but there wasn't time for it. This moment was all about strategy.

The two outer rings caught her eye. She wasn't entirely sure what to make of those, but they could prove useful. The moat was undeniably useful, given her lightning jutsu, or as a means of escape from fire. But it also posed a potential threat if her opponent used water. Everything about this exam was a double edged sword.

She had attempted to cut an intimidating figure. She wore her tight sleeveless black top, with wrappings around her elbows and forearms. Her long black pants clung against her skin and were tucked into the tall boots she wore. Her crimson red cloak swayed dramatically behind her, and the hood had been drawn up to shadow her eyes. She'd strapped her weapon pouch to her right leg, stowing her 5 kunai and 2 explosive tags. On her left leg, she stowed her 2 smoke bombs and 5 shuriken.

However, upon viewing her opponent, she found herself entertained in a strangely detached way, noting the similarities in their outfit choices.

She didn't know Hato, but she was pleased to know she was also from Kumokagure. Perhaps she wouldn't die today, after all.

She walked 10 meters into the ring as well, matching her opponents decision. Having very few people in the crowd to wave to, she decided they were irrelevant to her current situation. Instead, she struck a pose that allowed her cloak to billow just that little bit more. She was nothing if not melodramatic. Instead of addressing the crowd, she chose to address her opponent, in a pleasant but determined voice just loud enough to pierce the crowd noise. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Hato."

She then would await a reply or an indication from a proctor.

Shortly after the arrival of Hato came Mara. Her outfit was really out done, it looked great with her looks. But Hato wasn't here for fashion or even pleasantries. It was time to battle it out to see who deserved to be chunin more than the other.

After the crowd was pleased, Hato would look at Mara with a I'm-about-to-wipe-the-floor-with-you face. Since they were 20 meters apart, Hato needed to close the distance. Moving at her top speed, Hato would start heading towards the center and towards her opponent. Her movements were zig-zaged and slouched forward going up to Mara, trying to create a diversion. As soon as she got into a 5 meter radius from Hato, she'd weave the tiger hand sign in frount of her chest at her top speed to activate Temporary Paralysis Technique(Power: 20). This would attempt to immobilize her with chakra that felt like steel ropes binding her. The blonde was still moving towards her opponent while using the jutsu against her. Once arms length away from Mara, she'd aim to punch her in the gut, right under the rib cage with a strength of 20 with her right fist (putting her on Mara's right side). This would knock the air right out of her.

“This is it,” Mara thought as her opponent made eye contact. 

Her opponent bolted toward her at impressive speed, a little bit more than Mara herself was capable of. But only just. Mara allowed herself a slight smirk. Her next move would be a bit of a gamble. She’d be using up a valuable resource for her opening attack. Her hope was that it’d either hit, or at least catch her opponent off guard. Either was acceptable. If she couldn’t win, she’d like to lose impressively. 

As her opponent wove a path toward her, Mara waited until she was about half way there to move. She might not be as fast as her opponent, but she had something better. She knew where her opponent was going. At her top speed, she reached into her pouch, retrieving a kunai and explosive tag. With a flourish of her wrist she hurled it along her opponents approach at her throwing speed (25) along the middle of her opponents approach zig zag. As it sailed forward, she formed the Ram hand seal and Body Flickered away to the right. (94 speed)
With any luck, her opponent’s momentum would carry her into the radius of the tag.
She would stop about 20 meters away and detonate the tag as it came into range of her opponent.

If the bomb hit, she’d hurl a kunai at her opponent to pin her. Otherwise, she’d prepare the hand signs for Jibashi, which she’d use when her opponent closed into range.

As Hato charged for Mara, the fellow genin would throw a kuani with a paper bomb attached to it. The missile was moving at a much slower speed than hers so Hato would need to avoid it. She moved off to her left, which was Mara's right to avoid the kunai and also go where she was heading. It was easy to get out of a 1 meter radius of the kuani before it reached her position.

Once out of the blast radius of the paper bomb and only a moment passed when the Mara got out of the body flicker, Hato would use her own body flicker (weaving speed: top speed, movement speed: 125). This was way out of Mara's reaction time. Her destination was right in front of Mara. Using her superior speed, Hato lunged forward to attempt to grab both of her wrists to spread them apart and push her to the ground at her top speed and strength.

Once Mara was in her grasp, the blonde vampire would dig her claws into the younger genin's skin (sharpness of claws: 59). Blood would flow onto her fingers from her arm. It wasn't anywhere vital, it was only going to allow a sharper grip and blood to draw. Hato would position legs to her torso, holding it there with her strength. She would also continue to hold down her wrists with a dominate strength. With this position and full contact, she would start to use Chakra absorption. "Either you give up or I suck you dry." She said it with a playful tone.

Even as Mara arrived at her next destination and triggered the detonation, she had been startled to see Hato suddenly appear in front of her. The sudden appearance of her opponent caught her off guard. She hadn't expected the counter body flicker. There was very little time to react. The vampiric older Genin lunged forward arms spread to grab Mara's wrists. Mara wouldn't be able to stay out of her grasp for long, but she wouldn't have to.

Mara wouldn’t have time for hand signs, so she opted for something that wouldn’t need hand signs. Mara would jab her right hand forward, channeling her chakra into two fingers on her right hand, looking for a disabling blow at her opponent. It would be a strike just above her heart. If it came into contact with Hato’s arm along the way, it would do plenty of damage there along the way. A simulated kill blow. She wasn't looking to kill Hato, but she'd make it clear she could have if she wanted to. (55 power)

On impact, she'd keep her hell stab active and threatening toward her stabbed foe, ready to strike again at the slightest movement. "Yield."

(Not positive I have a handle on combat, but I'm pretty sure these are valid moves.)

Mara was clever with coming up with a counter attack to Hato. However, this time Hato wouldn't need to dodge completely. She wouldn't have ran up to her oppenet like she did unless she had something up her sleeve.

Hato noticed the hell stab being formed from Mara's fingertips, sharpened by lightning chakra. Once Mara's fingers were starting to move towards Hato's heart area, Hato would reach for her arm with the left hand, which was only inches away. Hato would also still be going for her wrist at the same time. Being faster than her jabbing motion, she would attempt to grab her forearm before blade could pierce her skin, making her finger 2 inches away from her heart area. Since Mara didn't react to her other wrist being grabbed, Hato would hold her wrist with all her strength.

Once a hold was secured, her strength would hold her arm there. Again, in attempt to secure her hold on Mara, Hato would dig her claws into the skin in none vital spots (Sharpness: 59).

With both grabs secure, the blonde vampire would force the young genin to the ground. In the mean time, she'd also be using the chakra absorption (Power: 40, chakra drainage: -40 ap). "Give up." She would exclaim forcefully yet playfully still.

Mara tapped her foot after she’d been pinned. “I yield. Well fought.”

She felt her strength leaving her through her blood, even as her chakra was being drained. “And I should probably see a medic.”

Luckily the battle was over and Mara retreated the spear and called a defeat. Hato was satisfied and let go of her opponent. The young genin exclaimed that she needed to go see a medic for her cuts. However, Mara must of forgotten she was fighting a medical ninja. "Don't worry about that." Hato weaved two hand seals, which made her hand glow with a green energy. With that, she placed it over her injured skin and healed the cuts Hato had inflicted on her. She knew that those actions would please the kages, showing not only her battle technique but her duties as a medical ninja would come first as well. Hato would have some delight hanging out with Mara outside the chuunin exams now that she knew some of her power. What else lurked in this young woman.

Claiming victory, Hato would stand up and offer to help Mara up. Either the young genin took it or not, Hato would then walk towards the same way she came in, waving to the cheering crowd. Once out of site of the entire Konohagure village, she would lick her fingers of the blood. Tasty.
