Leaving Behind Who He Was
Thu Mar 21, 2019 7:10 am
This trip to Hoshi was far from what the young man had expected. His world was shattered, the beacon of light and goodness in the world stomped out by the darkness it sought to illuminate. It was ironic, really.
The boy no longer wore a headband dangling from his neck. It represented a different Max, one that died once word of Akihana’s death reached his ears. The boy was changed, and he was going to destroy each and every trace of Mortarion. The world will forget the man ever existed, even if he has to dig each and every memory out by force! Kumo will no longer be a place of decay and rot. The village will accept this new reality, or else it will find itself standing against the young Yamaguchi, and that wasn't truly what he wanted. The only people in Kumo whose death he sought were already dead, peacefully fading in their sleep. An end they didn’t deserve…
Would his former comrades stand with him, or against him in purging the taint? Anyone that would stand against him would clearly still be clinging to the old regime, supporting it even in its death through their inaction. Such was a disgusting thought. How could anyone support such a cause? How could they sit idly by while their village was turned into a mockery of its former self? And even under a new ruler no action was taken against the one that committed the crimes. Hell, Max was even disgusted with who he was, the boy that served such a monster. But that boy was gone now, and all that remained was the rage.
Change is coming, and hopefully they are ready.
