Eliwood saw Calin taking with a strange looking man and hand him the wreath that he had brought back from the door. It didnt take much intuition to figure out that this was in fact their benefactor. He made sure amidst his drinking and dancing to make his way over to Jack and hand him the colored bulbs he'd taken himself.

The party was full of people in costumes. Eliwood felt out of place, although his usual getup was far from the norm for people in these parts. The monk was delighted to be surrounded by people having nothing but a good time, until he noticed someone who wasnt smiling, Jack. Calin also appeared to notice the sudden mood change of their mutual benefactor as he waded through the crowd same as Eliwood to see what was wrong. Moments later the three mercenaries were heading out the door and hurrying back to the door they had entered earlier.

They were told prior that defending the door might be a part of their job description, he figured that was why they were asked to enjoy the party for the time being. Skellington needed some people around for insurance and they fit that bill.

Back at the door there was no sign of any tampering by anyone yet, they must have made it before the intruders. This theory was confirmed by the appearance of three short shadows approaching through the woods. They appeared to be children but Eliwood was too drunk and cold to think about it. Amaterasu suggested scaring them off before blasting flames in the direction of the children, only close enough to frighten. The monk could do scary he figured.

He stepped forward and fired off a couple of wind bullets from his finger, meant to function as warning shots. In his tipsy state his aim was slightly off and so the first whizzed harmlessly by one of the kid's heads, but the second shot managed to go astray and graze the child's ear.

"Go on now kiddies, before you get hurt!" He'd yell out trying to sound intimidating, as impossible as that was for him. He was doing a bad job of appearing scary, but the pain in that kid's ear was real enough that was for sure. Eliwood hoped it would make them think twice about continuing their attempt at making it to the door.

It would not take much more for the children to be sent off running and screaming. An easy mission complete. The money would be very nice to have, but Eliwoods mind was on his two temporary associates. As cold and distant as the both of them were, they were undoubtedly strong and reliable people. He was glad to have met them, even though he was pretty sure the feeling was not mutual.

As they each parted ways Eliwood would holler out "The Flame bless you both!"

Either way he would laugh it off and head back to the party for the rest of the night, his work now done.

As they arrived at the scene of the door it would be revealed that the people ‘attacking it’ were little more than children. Calin would blow a breath of frustrated air, he wanted a fight. His partners would handle one each and the third would look at Amaterasu’s display of fire chakra, and then look to Calin. The tall, broad shouldered man would sigh and he would summon up his display of power. It took no effort, and he didn’t want to waste anymore chakra. He would however keep his eyes active, he didn’t know if there was anything else around that might be bigger game than these kids. The manifestation of his willingness to kill would seemingly step into existence behind him, a huge being of shadow and fire, incorporeal but still frightening to those who looked upon it while being the targets of his ire. The great beast would give a bellowing roar and the flames that made up the body of the creature would flare up as in preparation to attack. The kid would fall, clear onto his ass, before standing and running away, scared out of mind, possibly even to insanity, kids were fairly malleable after all.


Now that the ‘attack’ had been handled, the trio would return to the party. Calin would accept his pay and nod his head at the man as he left, another contract completed. He wondered as he left what the next would bring as Eliwood would cry out for the flames to bless them both. An inquisitive eyebrow would rise on Calin’s face as he wondered if the boy was being funny at Amaterasu’s and Calin’s expense. In the end it mattered little, and the man would leave, off to pursue his next contract.
