She picked up the bone saw in her hand tentatively as Kenshin pointed it out, and made a point (ha ha) to observe its every angle, curve, and tip. It appeared to be made entirely of stainless steel- a lot of the medical equipment here was, she noticed. It had a ring handle that was a little too wide for her to grab with one hand, so she ended up maneuvering it with both. The blade formed something of a trapezoid, with deceivingly sharp edges she knew could take off a few fingers or toes should she be careless. Despite its purpose in medicine, she observed, it would make a cruelly efficient weapon. As Teacher spoke up, she rose her head to better focus on his words. After a moment, she raised the bone saw and carefully lowered it to the man's body. She saw what she had to remove- the little bone in the middle that held all the ribs together. It was blocking her from reaching further down into his internal organs.
She poked the edges with the bone saw, and with a muted curiosity noted that it tore easily. Was it kept together by cartilage, not bone? The sound it made as she slowly worked at the edges was not unlike a sound she had heard when she was eating dinner- she liked to eat the cartilage of the chicken in addition to the flesh, resulting in the same crunching tear sound. The front of the rib cage was fully cut out after about seven minutes, where she began to use the bone saw to cut away at the connecting tissue.
In hindsight, perhaps a scalpel would've been a better choice- but to be fair, its not like she knew what each of the instruments were actually used for. After that, she picked up the chunk of bloody bone and held it to the light. The cartilage was uneven and clipped, but she hoped it wasn't too bad for a first attempt. She placed it to the side, on a nearby but unused metal table. Maybe she could take a look at it later. After that, a myriad of varied organs were visible. She recognized the heart, lungs, and stomach, but wasn't quite sure what anything else was. She leaned in a bit closer, but made a point not to get close enough that she'd actually be making contact- no, she just wanted to see it better.
She tilted her head curiously before leaning back, turning her eyes back to Teacher expectantly. She wasn't quite sure what to do next, but... After a moment she looked down at the corpse. What stories did his body hide? she wondered with a muted curiosity, not quite feeling bad for the man but rather just contemplating what kind of information was stored within his organs, as well as how far back it went. As of right now, she only knew the cause of death- big rock to small, fragile head. After a moment, she exhaled through her nose, waiting to be told what to do next.

Kenshin would resist the urge to chuckle as Amaterasu eagerly tore her way into the corpse that lay before her, the saw in her hands producing the most melodic tunes as it tore its way through the cartilage and began to reveal that treasures that lay within the corpse. It was much harder to suppress the laughter when she began to use the Bonesaw to cut the connecting tissue rather than a scalpel, but he still managed to do so without all that much effort… still, he found it to be rather hilarious to actually watch. He supposed the excitement to finally live out her rather macabre childhood fantasy was getting to her. Even the most dimwitted of people would be able to see that a sharp small blade like the one he had handed her earlier would be better suited to actually cutting the tissue that she was struggling with now… and he knew full well that the girl was certainly anything but dimwitted. He wouldn’t have taken her on as a student, let alone his apprentice, if she had been.
He would watch as she examined the bone that she had just removed, almost seeming to admire it for a few moments before simply placing it off to the side before leaning in close to get a better look at the corpses true treasures, the organs… something that could truly be an unbelievable source of power to shinobi. Powers unknown to most simply locked away by genetics, and the organs acting as the key to unlock those doors and access powers most couldn’t even imagine wielding. Most of the so called great villages looked down on this practice rather bloody method of obtaining power, with some outright declaring any and all bloodline transplants to be illegal within their walls… but when push came to shove he knew full well that the higher ups any village would simply overlook it if their shinobi didn’t outright flaunt it. Hell, even then there would likely be nothing done against the shinobi in question for either accepting such bloody power or the one that performed the procedure… unless of course it was not a shinobi of their own village. None of the people within the walls of Hoshigakure, not even the beloved Hikari Namikaze, The Archangel, were above the allure of power promised by transplants.
When Amaterasu began to look towards him expectantly he would move to stand beside the corpse, and from there he would begin to point towards each organ and give a rather in depth explanation of both their functions and how they worked within the body. Once he had finished doing that with each organ in the torso he would begin to give her instructions, giving her a step by step tutorial on how to perform a true autopsy on a corpse. Between the explanation of the functions of the bodies organs AND the autopsy the pair would be engaged for quite some time, at least a few hours having passed as The Reaper calmly and patiently explained the bodies functions to his young and untrained apprentice. It was then that he would decide to end the lesson for today, the fun of dissecting his own ‘corpse’ would have to come another day, as this had ended up dragging out for far longer than he had wished.
