Blacksmith for a Day {E-Rank}
Sun Feb 02, 2020 11:23 pm
Mission
The intense heat beat against her exposed face as she worked the bellows. Even though her bloodline gave her a naturally hotter body temperature, the blacksmith's blazing forge left her complaining about the beads of sweat that ran down from her temple. Matting the crimson strands of hair to the nape of Akira's neck and her defined collarbone. The kunoichi cursed below her breath as she continued to stroke the handles of the bellows. Producing air to add to tue confusion of the flames and heat, as the blacksmith worked his magic. Her ember eyes watched with curiosity as the blacksmith hovered a makeshift blade within the coals. After time bathing in the heat, the metal of the blade would begin to glow red. Akira would marvel on the inside as she was drawn to this tatic. Anything that involved the element of flame was an interest to her. She stroked the bellow a few more times just before the blacksmith withdrew the glowing blade from the hot coals. He made his way over to one of his work tables. Grabbing a hammer in the process, as he set the tongs that held the blade against the edge of the table. The blacksmith would raise the hammer above his head, before bringing it down to strike the glowing blade. Molding and shaping it into the perfected form that he held within his mind.
Akira would watch as the blacksmith repeated this technique. Hammering and shaping the morphing blade, then reheating it up with the coals as she assisted with the bellows. Soon the blacksmith would set down his hammer, using the back of his hand to wipe at the sweat from his brow. Finally he was satisfied by the results. Now there was no longer a need for bellows or the forge of hot coal. The blacksmith directed her towards the weapon rack that he had in the back of the room. He advised her of what to do next while he finished his blade. Akira seated herself down at the bench next to the weapon rack. She carefully handled one of the swords and rested it down onto the clothed surface of the bench. She had a unique patch of fabric that was used to polish the blade. Like advised, the kunoichi picked up the cloth patch within her free hand as her other hand held onto the handle of the sword. She would caress the blade with the cloth in a circular motion. Being very careful and aware of the sword's sharp edge. As she performed this technique, Akira would compliment the blacksmith's work. The sword looked deadly and had an arched back. As a Taijutsu user it would seem kinda pointless to have a sword as a weapon. She would become deep in though as she wandered to herself what type of weapon would fit her performance. She made a mental note to tall to the blacksmith and see if he had any advise for her. It wouldn't be long until the blacksmith had crafted the handle of the blade he was working on. With that he set the blade aside to allow it to rest. It was time for the two of them to clean up the work area before heading out. The kunoichi was satisfied by the little that she learned from this mission and fortunately for her, the blacksmith gave her a brilliant idea for what type of weapon she should go for. Once again the red haired genin made another mental note. She planned to return to this blacksmith sometime in the future to get some unique metal knuckles to compliment her Taijutsu.
