Death and Taxes (C Rank Mission)

http://naruto-role-play-rpg.forumotion.com/t43016-death-and-taxes <--- Mission being done
Keita had been through a couple of missions that seemed to greatly test and stress his moral code, but today he was very happy, as all he had to do is go somewhere and collect money from people. He was usually good with numbers, so Keita was definitely familiar with the tax paperwork and ledgers that he needed to go and grab so that he could look through them and decide on who needed to give their money to the village. Keita had just finished a rather pleasant breakfast of a caprice salad on toast with a little balsamic vinegar dressing, and the taste of it was still lingering on his lips as he left his home and headed towards the administration building of the village. This was one of the rare times when he had a bit of time for himself, as he had been on a training and mission binge, attempting to hone himself to a fine edge before being an active ninja of the village. He was technically being an active member of the village, but one never knew what was going to happen in the near future, and it was best to be prepared, especially because the Mizukage had not been seen as of late, so there was definitely a need to be a bit cautious. Keita made it to the administration building ten minutes before the mission was supposed to start, and greeted the receptionist at the front desk with a polite smile and wave. He had seen this woman a few times before, and she was always lovely chatting with, so Keita had a bit of small talk before taking a look at the paperwork that he had to go through and make a small list of people and places that he had to go around and collect these overdue taxes from. On this list seemed to be a couple individuals, as well as one of the shops around here that sold food. It seemed that the shop was only overdue for the taxes needed for one year, but the people were each overdue for at least two years, something that would not really be tolerated, and Keita would have to use everything in his power aside from violence, which was good, considering he was not a violent individual anyways. He took a glance over at the woman, and asked if there was anything else, and she replied, telling him that someone else was going to go on the mission as well, and that they should be part of a small team, and that he needed to wait a little while more, as the mission was not officially started yet. Keita nodded and decided that he would wait for the next person, and wondered if he knew them. A lot of the ninja of the village only wanted missions that involved some sort of action, and collecting taxes was sincerely the opposite of that, so he was hoping that he could have at least a small conversation with the person he was doing the mission with. He met up with the other ninjas he was supposed to work with, and set off. They decided to split up, and Keita decided to head after a small house on the edge of the town part of the city, where a rather noble person of Kiri was not paying their proper taxes. It seemed he owed an upwards of ten thousand ryo, which was quite a substantial amount, so he made sure that the man was going to pay for what he had done. As he headed to the door of the man, he greeted people on the way over, and some of them even knew him and asked why he was in this part of town. Keita felt that this would actually help him out, and so he told them the story about how one of the residents here was not paying his taxes, and he was tasked to collect them. The citizens all knew Keita was a very nice young man, and went to help him out, knowing that Keita would not really want to threaten the man too much. So, Keita walked up to the man's door with the help of all of his neighbors, he was able to find it very quickly, and then knocked on the door. The man answered, sort of confused on why a young man was standing at his door, and quickly told Keita to leave, as he was not going to buy anything that Keita was selling. Keita explained that he was here looking for the tax money that he had skirted out on, and the man immediately started questioning Keita as to why a ninja was collecting the taxes. Keita tried to appease him, but then his neighbors started berating him so badly, that eventually he gave in. It seemed that keeping up his noble appearances was more important that the extra money, so he tried to play it off as a misunderstanding, to which Keita happily agreed and backed him up on that claim, giving him a bit of his face back, which the man actually appreciated. The money within his grasp, Keita thanked all of the people there for their assistance, and headed back to the government building to hand the money off to the correct people.

Re: Death and Taxes (C Rank Mission)

She should have been in mourning but this morning she felt like she had nothing to mourn about. Yea her mother was dead and her father decided to be even less of a factor in her life but she had other things to worry about. Kiyomi was up before the sun as she had the glorious task of cleaning out her parent's room which was now just an empty room. With all of her family's assets in her name now she could do as she pleased with the rather large home, and she intended to do just that. With all the work that she about to put into the home, she wanted her husband to come live in it with her and not at the Kage's building. She needed him with her and she was already thinking about making a family of her own, something she honestly shouldn't have even been considering due to the danger level of her work. Kiyomi poured herself some tea in a thermal and dressed in a simple but still rather elegant looking dark blue qipao that only hugged every curve she owned. Quickly leaving her home she made her way to see what was available to her for missions. Taking a brisk walk she sipped her tea all the while trying to clear her mind of the nagging thoughts that were plaguing her. Upon reaching her destination she was met with another individual who was also looking for mission work and who had already gotten the mission and was just waiting for more people to join him. The work was simple enough and it required no fighting, something Kiyomi was thankful for as she let him lead the way, keeping words between them short and following his direction of splitting up.
Looking at the list of people who owed the village taxes she was very disappointed to see one of her favorite shops to eat on the list. While she wasn't happy about it she was sure that knowing the owners would make this a very easy job for her. The place was a nice and cozy little spot that served a variety of things with a menu that changed daily due to the fresh food they got. It was a surprise to her that they missed a year of taxes because every time she had visited the establishment it was full of people and they always seem to close early due to running out of food because of the sheer amount of customers they had come to them. More times than none a line would form around the block for hours just to eat there. Kiyomi eventually made it to her destination and with a heavy heart made her way inside. Because she was so early the rush hadn't come yet so it was easy to just get in. She was quickly greeted by the owner who was happy to see Kiyomi. The owner was a small man with a bald head and bright green eyes. He was close to her mother and gave his condolences as he had heard she died. Kiyomi appreciated it but quickly pulled him to the side and explained why she was here. The owner looked surprised because he was sure he paid his taxes every time. Kiyomi pulled out some papers showing him that he in fact missed one. She could see him turn red and he mumbled some excuse about forgetting before rushing to the back of the store and producing the money. She was sure it was a misunderstanding and he thanked her before giving her a muffin fresh from the oven. Kiyomi thanked the owner and quickly made her way back to the building where she was supposed to drop the money off to the right people before filling out some paperwork for her mission. She was thankful that she got someone so understanding of his situation, it would have been very awkward and a very different ordeal if he decided to be difficult about it. Since she had so much time left Kiyomi decided that it was probably best to look for another mission. This was easy money, and that was the best kind of money.

Re: Death and Taxes (C Rank Mission)

For once in recent days, Kizmaru was not pining away in the office writing on a piece of paper signing his life away or stamping a piece paper with the large red, bold text saying 'Approved' on it. No, he was actually enjoying some rest and relaxation as a 'Jounin' of the Kirigakure village. He was situated in a bar and grill he hadn't been to in a fairly long time, eating a more nostalgic seafood platter he used too order frequently. Its been awhile since Kizmaru had been in the village of his own free will just being able to do what he wants to for the day. It was refreshing to be free, even if it was for a little while. Now that he was free however, he had found out he was practically bored almost immediately without anything to do. He always had some arbitrary task or miscellaneous request to keep him busy that now, he found himself quite bored. He never thought he could get used to this life style and all seeing as all he seemed to was glue himself to a chair and just look over appeals and such. Pondering a bit on his next course of action, Kizmaru eventually came to the conclusion that he would spend his time acting like a normal Jounin. What an ironic conclusion he came to have since he would be spending his day off, working.
Even if it was technically considered work to the average shinobi, Kizmaru had taken this as a time to get some quick exercise and maybe roam around and familiarize himself with the village once again. After all, with some many buildings being erected in such a short amount of time, it was only natural to fall out of tune with the surroundings. So, he figured he would head back to the Kage's mansion in order to pick out a suitable mission that was simple but required a lot of walking around the village. Giving a nod to the receptionist, they had nodded back before dropping their work and looking over the kind of requests that needed to be done around the village. They've already been through this song and dance for so long that it became a routine of theirs without even having to utter a single word. The receptionist was also one of the few people that knew his true identity other than his wife and one of his close friends. Rummaging through the sheets of paper, the receptionist found one that was already underway and could be taken at his leisure. Two other capable shinobi were already on the job so he didn't have to work too hard to get the task done.
Nodding once more, he decided to take on the job of just roaming around and collecting the taxes from the citizens of Kirigakure, not as the Mizukage, but as Kizmaru, a simple village Jounin. Wearing his Jounin Flak Jacket, he ventured out into the residential area to collect the unpaid taxes of the people that went without a new Kage for so long. Heading out of the Kage's mansion, Kizmaru decided he would start out by going out to the richer side of Kirigakure in order to collect the taxes. Most people on this side of town, were of people that lived closer to or inside of their establishments generating so much of their money in the first place. Making a few rounds, he had stumbled upon some trouble immediately and was even being accused of being a scam artist but eventually, he had made them come around made them pay up or he had threatened to tell the new 'Kage' about what was going in these parts of towns. Even though it was tourist friendly, a good majority of their business came from underhanded dealings and shady deals going in the background of most establishments. Whether it's gambling, laundering ir theft, people made a living somehow and as long as it didn't get out of hand, Kizmaru allowed it to some degree. Well, its not like he cared too much anyway but he needed money and leverage to get anything done around these parts.
After making his way through all of the residential areas, he figured he had done his part on collecting the taxes while the other two shinobi collected their portion. He had hoped this would be enough to finally start funding the important projects of his. Well, he'll worry about that when he was out of his persona disguise. For now, he would return to the Kage's mansion in order to hand over the taxes he had collected for the mission. Now he had to go back to the office and count it himself as Kage. What a very ritualistic lifestyle he currently leads.
