Serah attempted to enter the gates peacefully. She heard this place was open to missing nin and it's kage rumored to be able to make people stronger through his medical jutsu. She was interested, and she finally had the money to check it out.

"I'm here to see your kage so I can get stronger," she told the gate guards. She didn't know what else to say other than that and she hoped they would direct her to the right place.

Han could do little more than sigh… how the hell had it come to this, he left the village with that wannabe Valen so that he could find Kenshin to chew the impulsive brat out for letting his emotions get the better of him… but in the end he had been forced to track the kid down himself in the ruins of this dead village. To make matters worse he had somehow ended up joining the kids forces, yeah… Kenshin Uzumaki, that impulsive brat from Hoshi, was somehow a Kage now… this world was either damned or saved… could be either really, depending on the kids mood for the day. Maybe it was ironic that he was stuck here, in a small hut above the cliffs that served as the sole entry of the village, stuck as the gate guard for yet another desert village… but at least here he wasn’t stuck with that idiot Gin. He decided that he wanted to stay in Hoshi, unable to see the writing on the wall for what it was… and in the end the two of them were forced to fight, but thankfully the idiot chose to flee instead of dying… huh, maybe he was smarter than he had been giving the guy credit for.

He saw the woman approaching from the distance, and when she got close enough and started speaking the grizzled old man could do little more than sigh in annoyance.

“Head on in, you’ll either find the boss in the Kazekage’s mansion or in The Hospital, just ask one of the secretaries of either building if he’s in. You don’t need a visitors pass or anything, just get going.” He would call out the window, ensuring that he was just as loud as he needed to be for her to hear him.

Serah didn't think it would be this easy. The old man before her looked annoyed as hell that she had come here for this very purpose but he didn't stop her. He merely directed her to the hospital so Serah told him ," thanks sir" then walked on in. Now all she had to do was find the hospital and ask for an appointment, that was if nobody stole her money by then.

Once the girl was gone Han would continue to grumble and watch the distance, a small smile fixed on his grizzled old face as he did so... no matter how much he complained, it was always nice to have a place to call home
