Chronicle Entry #9:
Our chance came sooner than expected. We knew there wasn’t going to be too many, so we took it. I was on perimeter watch duty, along with another member of our clan. I’d been working in the sensor network yesterday, so I knew the perimeter sensor codes at the time. It was a simple matter of having the other members of our group arrive separately, leap over the wall, and leave the village. I was the last one and made sure to cover our tracks to the best of my ability. It wouldn’t be enough to get us completely out of harm’s way, but would give us a head start, which should be enough to get us away successfully.
Luckily for us, a few of us were skilled sensory shinobi, so we were able to keep an eye out for trouble as we made our way out of Konoha’s area of influence. And trouble was sent our way; the response was a squad of Anbu sent to apprehend us. We were able to stay ahead of them for a couple days before we were overtaken. They tried to bring us back peacefully, but that was not an option for us. The fight was bloody, and we nearly didn’t make it. It was lucky that Telantes is a skilled medic and was able to take care of all of the sustained injuries. We’d managed to drive them off but we knew that they would be back soon enough.

Anaphiel stood up from his desk after another solid block of writing. It was taking him longer than he’d originally thought to write down everything for his chronicles. It was also taking a larger toll on him, emotionally. It was good to get the words written down; it helped to compartmentalise a difficult part of his life that was something he still had trouble coming to terms with. For now though it would be a good time to take a step back and meditate, re-center himself.
He went out to the back garden and sat in the lotus position, closing his eyes and allowing his breathing to slow. He needed to relax, let the distressing memories fade away so that he was calm and collected. His most common way to meditate was to visualise the beautiful Waterfall Bluffs that he’d created in Rayoralia. The sound of the falls was extremely calming to him, and it was his favourite mental experience, which is why it was included in his dimension.
He sat there for quite some time, re-establishing control over the emotions that had threatened to break his composure. He was eventually able to prevent those wayward feelings to get the better of him and opened his eyes. He got up and went back inside to eat dinner before spending the rest of the night relaxing. He had no other obligations and was not planning on doing anything other than enjoying himself. Perhaps he might go spend some time in Rayoralia.
