The Illusion of Bribes (Mission)

Even though the illusionist was between the two ninja, Gin was still worried that the advantage wasn't on his side given that his attack which was flawless, had completely missed; he had guessed it was a genjutsu, but he wasn't entirely sure until Yuurei had made an attempt at the foe; at first Yuurei's attack was a simple sword strike, but then it seemed to have played back again like an instant replay. Gin had wondered if his friend had made an attack at until he heard him cry out.

"Dear children" the illusionist jestered in a singsong tone, "You both are making your attacks well, but your timing is just off" he joked, irritating Gin to the point the ninja was planning on to activate his Chakra Scalpel and try to cut him down... then suddenly Gin found himself striking the area where the illusionist was... with his hand coated in blue chakra.

"What the hell?" he looked down upon his hand; he had activated his chakra scalpel and ran forward to attack the man... but he doesn't remember doing it, only that he was planning on doing it. He looked back to see that the illusionist was now in a different spot, about five meters away from the boys as if he had dodged the attack and jumped back to gain distance, but Gin couldn't remember that, as if some of his memory was gone or someone pushed the skip button on a video.

"You may call me the 'Video Man'" the illusionist said as he smiled and pointed a finger in the direction of the ninjas.

Yuurei noticed the man was enjoying his time with the two right now, but he had watched as he had turned to fight against Gin. This was good, and he figured the man would have thought that he still had Yuurei in a Genjutsu. That was good and soon enough he would see his friend start the fight between the two of them. It was good to see Gin go on the offense, and it seemed like he was using his medical stuff in an offensive manner. I wouldn’t want him to cut me up with that, I can just imagine the permanent damage that he could do to me if that hits.” He thought to himself as the man said something weird to both of them on what he was called.

The Uchiha would see that he had turned to look at him and it was then Yuurei would rush straight towards him. The man would take out a Kunai and would toss it straight at the young boy. He would deflect the Kunai without a problem using his deflect skill as he would approach the man as he would attempt to take another slash at him. Yuurei had to make it convincing and he would swipe a bit early on purpose as the man would chuckle when he saw him miss.

“With those eyes, I figured you would have done better, but I guess it doesn’t always work as that does it?” He said to Yuurei as he would get ready to fight the young boy.

Yuurei would shake his head when he heard those words and he would just crack his neck as he had grown tired of this battle. He would stand straight up as he was looking at the criminal in front of him. His blade would point straight towards him and he would just shake his head.

“I’m going to stab you now.” He would say this to the man in front of him as he was done with this.

It was in this instant chakra would form around his katana and it would shoot out straight towards the man quickly. Yuurei would stab him right on his shin around his ankle so that it would come out of his heel as it would disappear and the katana would return to normal. The man would fall to the ground in pain as he would start shouting and cursing out loud.

Yuurei would move towards Gin and he would get him out of the Genjutsu that he was in before he said anything to Gin.

“You should be able to see him better now. Make sure that he can’t move, since we have to capture him alive. I did stop him from moving, but you can do the rest.” He said to Gin as he wanted to see what his friend could do at this point.

The illusionist boasted and for the first time, Gin wondered whether a two-against-one battle would even work in a situation like this. He then shook off the doubt, regardless of how dire a situation is, he needed to believe in himself and his partner's skills, any doubt would cause falter and any second that is given to the enemy could be the deciding factor. He decided to wait for Yuurei to attack and double-up on it, making it difficult for the illusionist to focus his attack.

The moment Yuurei dashed forward, Gin made his move, or at least he tried. One moment he was in the alleyway facing the Video Man, and the next moment he was back on the high ledge of the building above, looking down upon the streets that hid in the shadows of the clustered buildings. "What's happening?" Gin thought as he looked about. Everything seemed to be as it was before, he saw Yuurei on another ledge, the ledge he was on previously, looking down and scanning the area with his sharingan as if the battle never happened. Was it all a dream?

Gin shook his head, a bead of sweat dropped from his brow and his hands shook slightly.

"You alright, Gin?" Yuurei asked him.

"I'm fine" Gin lied. He didn't want to worry Yuurei, but then the thought crept into his mind: Was that truly Yuurei? or is that simply a shadow conjured by the video man?

Gin took several deep breaths as he leaned down. His heart was racing and he couldn't lose his focus, they were on a mission and he couldn't afford to falter. "Falter..." Wasn't he just having this thought?

"You should be able to see him better now" Yuurei's voice came in like an echo through muddy water. Gin's vision blurred and he found himself in the alley again, "Make sure that he can’t move, since we have to capture him alive. I did stop him from moving, but you can do the rest.”

Gin noticed the Video Man was kneeling, grunting in pain, grasping his bleeding injured foot. By the look of his face, whatever Yuurei did, Gin needed to act fast, unless another genjutsu happened.

Illusion or not, Gin moved forward, channeled his chakra into hand, the healing energy surging, but pushed it, concentrated it more. "Sleep" Gin said as he placed his hand on Video Man's chest. The next moment, the illusionist fell silent, no noises of pain, then fell to the floor. At that moment, Gin felt as if he was waking up, he had a strong urge to yawn. He took a look around and noticed the vivid sights of the buildings and the sandstone, he was truly awake now.

He looked to Yuurei and nodded.

Yuurei would look at Gin as he would watch the man approach the man in pain and he would see that he was using a Jutsu. He never saw him use it before, or maybe he did. The last time he remembered Gin could use Medical Jutsu, but this one looked dangerous. He had placed his hand on their captive, and soon enough he would fall asleep without a problem. Yuurei was indeed surprised and he wouldn’t want that to happen to him. He would see the man drop to the ground without fighting it and he would just be there. He would smile at the young man and they would both nod at each other.

“Interesting technique you have Gin. I didn’t think you would do something like that, but it worked in the end.” He would say this to Gin as he walked over to the sleeping body.

Yuurei would pick up the man that had caused them quite a problem and they had to take him in alive. That was the most annoying part of this mission, but it was done, so there was nothing to complain about. He would start moving now that he had the man with him and there were heading towards the location of where they had gone last they captured someone. People would look at the two boys, but they wouldn’t say anything when they realize that they were ninjas. Yuurei, of course, didn’t pay them any mind as he made his way to his destination. When they arrived at the location, the two of them would enter the office like last time, but without their escort.

They would put the body down and Yuurei would look at the ninja that was behind the counter.

“We captured the ninja that was giving people in the village a hard time. He was possessing them in a genjutsu and taking their money, but we stopped that from happening.” He paused as he handed the man the scroll and he looked it over before nodding at Yuurei.

He would take out a reward that was meant for both of them and he would give them both of a bag full of money. He wouldn’t say anything, but he could see that the man’s foot was badly injured. It would seem like these ninjas were ruthless even though they were young. Yuurei would turn to look at Gin with a smile on his face as he already knew what time it was.

“Let’s grab something to eat and enjoy our time. We did a good job today don’t you think?” He said as he would start making his way towards their usual spot to eat within the village.

"I've been studying and practicing, the jutsu I used is mainly for healing and repairing organic tissue, but anything in excess can be harmful" Gin cracked a smile as he helped lift the unconscious illusionist from the ground with Yuurei and began making their way towards the office of mission distribution. Yuurei complained that transporting the target was the most tedious part and Gin highly agreed, lifting a body, dead or alive, across the hot desert sand was no one's idea of a picnic and on top of that, sometimes they were leaking blood. Speaking of which, Gin noticed the illusionist's ankle was bleeding heavily, so he adjusted his hold on the man's lower body so his right hand was upon the ankle wound. He then emitted a soft pulse of chakra from his hand to heal the wound; within moments and tedious trekking through the sandy terrain, Gin managed to stop the bleeding, preventing the man from bleeding out, however given his position and the fact that Yuurei shattered the talus and heel bone, he wasn't able to repair the foot.

Eventually they reached the office and were given their pay. The mission ended like any order hunting mission, even going to get a bite to eat right after, but Gin wondered about the battle, wondered if he would have been able to escape that genjutsu, there was even a moment where he wondered if he was still in the genjutsu, truly the only person who would be able to know would be an Uchiha. Gin looked to Yuurei, envious of his eyes to be able to see more than the regular person can, but glad he didn't have them for every time Gin researched the sharingan, with the little information that was provided, there was also a side-note claiming that a curse came along side them.
