Task: A shady fellow has been spotted wandering around at night. Some claim to have been tricked using his illusions into giving him their money. Track this man down and capture him. Be warned, he appears to be skilled in genjutsu!

For the Hunter Challenge to be accepted the mission must have the tag [Hunter], and if this challenge is accepted you will be forced to combat a C-ranked shinobi that intends to betray your village

The partner had been doing a lot of harder missions as of lately. It was a good way to get noticed throughout the village, and by the man in charge. The young Genin had made sure that he would slowly help Gin become a ninja that he even knew that he could be. After the day that they had stopped the ninja from escaping, it seemed like they were given a job to handle something more important. The brief of the mission was simple, and they were going to handle a situation that has been going through the village. It seemed like there is was a person going around the village taking people’s money, their claim simple, he had tricked them into handing their money over through illusions. This was interesting in many ways, but it was a crime either way.

Their task was to track this person down and capture him. Yuurei was fine in capturing the person at large, and it didn’t mind how they did it. He figured as long as he took him out and he was still alive, then everything should be fine. The Uchiha had informed everything to Gin and now it was time to play the waiting game with his friend. He had gotten ready for the day and when he had gotten downstairs, he had eaten his meal for the day before leaving his house. The Genin had told Gin where they were meeting and it was on top of his house. This would be the first time his friend had come near his home, which he was fine with.

He was on top of his roof as he was laying down as he would look up to the sky. The sun was out, but it was slightly covered with clouds. The birds were soaring through the air as they were also enjoying the day. There were a lot of people walking around the area as they were handling their stuff. The little boy would enjoy his time relaxing as he could only wonder what was going to happen today.

“I wondered how long it’s going to take for Gin to show up today. In the end, I hope he has some cool new jutsus to show me. It seems like he could heal, but he hasn’t used any of his puppets. I guess they are harder to make than I thought they would be.” He said to himself as he waited for the boy’s arrival.

Gin had awoken early this time in order to shower and eat with enough time to spare. His clock was working perfectly and all household tasks were done the day prior, now nothing could stop him from actually making his appointment on time. After finishing donning his clothing, he took a look around his livingroom to make sure there wasn't a last minute thing he had forgotten. Then he heard footsteps coming from the hallway; his mother must be awake, Gin's heartbeat shifted in speed, he didn't intend on being called to do any last minute tasks for his mother, so he spun on his heals and threw open the door.

"Gin! wait! Can you-!?" before his mom could finish the sentence, Gin slammed the door and dashed off down the hill. He jumped clear over a ditch in order to land on a lower level building, and for a brief moment, could feel a strong breeze gently pressing against his body. That breeze felt like a good omen and he was hoping it was given his new mission. Ever since Yuurei and him caught that traitor and turned him in, they had received their first mission involving targeting an actual person. No doubt someone in the office figured they were ready for much more difficult tasks.

Some time later, Gin found himself in the living district Yuurei had told him about. Sand whipped up, Gin covered his eyes to prevent anything from getting into his eyes. When the wind pass, Gin took a look around and soon enough spotted a young man laying atop one of the domed houses. A few leaps and Gin landed upon the rooftop, "Good day, Yuurei-kun" He said this with a confident smile, knowing he was on time.

Yuurei was relaxing as he had given the time for Gin to arrive. He wasn’t sure that his friend would arrive at that time, so he had shifted it a few minutes earlier. He was enjoying the time to himself, but he would hear someone’s voice coming from the distance. The Uchiha would giggle when he heard his name because he couldn’t believe that his partner had made it to his house on time. The Genin would get up from where he was lying down and was now sitting down. He would look over to where his friend called him out and he would have a smile on his face.

“Hey there Gin. I’m surprised you made it on time. You got me off guard.” He said as he would get up from the ground as he was now standing up.

Yuurei would make his way down to the ground and right by Gin. He could see that his friend was ready to get things done with.

“Well, now that you’re here we can get moving. I have reports of where the last couple of incidents have been happening. It seems like our culprit enjoys a particular location. So, let’s be on our way and then start looking for stuff.” He said to Gin with a smile on his face.

Yuurei would start moving towards their next location as he was hoping that things would go well for them. The Genin would just see a bunch of people walking by them and he would just scratch the back of his head as he didn’t like being around this many people

Gin followed along side Yuurei, although he made sure to stay just half a step behind him, to cover his blind spot as much as possible. Every so often he would look about himself, but doing his best not to look suspicious. Though the Uchiha's sharingan is powerful, it is still limited by the human's natural blind spot. By what Gin had picked up from the information briefing, this target uses illusions to swindle people out of their money, although there have not been any reports of this money using any sort of force or harm, Gin and Yuurei agreed to treat this target as hostel, but do their best to bring the target in alive.

A hour of traveling, the two ninjas made their way to the shopping district, specifically where large buildings that hold offices and anything similar. The clutter of highstory buildings also have several narrow streets that cross between one another, and given the shape of the top of many of the buildings being dome shape, there are several streets that do not receive direct sunlight, but are hidden in the shadow of the buildings. Unintentionally by the architects, this created the shadow streets, the southern part of the shopping district which houses the black market that most citizens don't believe exist.

Now Gin shifted his eyes to and fro more often. Every now and then, an adult would look their way, sometimes a second longer than is naturally appropriate which would put any person on edge, "Any leads?" Gin asked Yuurei in a whisper, hoping his younger partner would have some sort of clue to where they would find their elusive target.

Yuurei would continue his way towards the buildings that were at the shopping district. It seemed like there could be a lot of shady things that can be done here especially with all these damn alleyways that were everywhere. They decided to go into one and see if they could find him preying on someone around the area. His eyes shifting back and forth, he knew the best way to find this guy was to catch him in the act. Still, they weren’t going to be the ones that he did this to, so they had to do something else. They couldn’t be in the alleyway, so he looked up to the tall buildings that they were in between. He did hear his friend tell him if he had any leads, but there was nothing really.

“Nah I don’t get any leads here, and I don’t think we are going to find anything here. We’re going to need to get on high ground, and then just watch from above.” He said this to Gin with a smile on his face.

The Uchiha would change his eyes as he activated his Sharingan, and with that, he would start running up the side of the building. While doing that he would look over to Gin as he would explain a bit about why he was doing that.

“The reason why I don’t think we should have stood down is simple. If the culprit saw us with our headbands, then he will probably run away. That is a bad thing, so the best thing we could do is go on top of the roof, and check from below.” He paused for a second as he kept walking upward.

“My Sharingan can see when people are placed in a Genjutsu, so this will be perfect. I will use my eyes on the chakra signatures down below, and if someone’s chakra gets disrupted, then we found our guy.” He said this to Gin.

It wouldn’t take them long, but he would make his way to the rooftop as he would get into position. Yuurei would just get into a corner as he would look down to the ground below. His eyes waiting for people to show up. His eyes moved around as he could see a few chakra signatures move around. Still, it seemed like they were walking by instead of stopping. His eyes kept moving and soon enough he would see two people walking into the alleyway from opposite directions into the alleyway. His eyes glued onto them as he was making sure that nothing bad would happen. It wouldn’t take long, but both of them would stop right in front of each other.

The Genin would watch them stop in front of each other, and then the chakra signature on the one to the left had changed as it had been infected. They had found the guy they were looking for, and now they had to go confront him.

“I think we found who we’re looking for. He is down on the ground to the right of us. We need to rush over to him and make sure that he doesn’t escape. I will guide us if we lose him, but he is still down there, so let’s go.” He said to Gin as he started making his way down the building and into the alleyway.

Gin was surprised when he heard they no leads to follow on. To actually hunt down someone with description to go on would be difficult, but the confidence Yuurei emitted was enough to assure him that they had a chance, his walking pace didn't falter. The moment Yuurei took off and ran up the wall of a nearby building, Gin followed suite. After reaching a good height, Yuurei took a perch, looking down upon the streets below. Gin took a perch nearby, but before he began scouting the area below, he noticed Yuurei's sharingan were activated.

The explanation behind the Uchiha's scouting plan seemed fool-proof, an advantage on their part which made them a lucky pair. Gin admitted to himself that the other genins from the academy were right when they spoke behind his back, that he was lucky to have an Uchiha on his side, but he believe them to be wrong when they whispered that he needed the advantage, he knew they implied he lacked the skills to be a proper ninja. But he knew better, and even though he proved to himself that he is an outstanding ninja, there are moments he had to repeat that to himself, for the only other person in his age group that showed him that he is truly an acceptable ninja was Yuurei.

Yuurei woke him from his daydream. Gin looked over to see his friend was already making his way down the building, albeit using the shadow of the building to his advantage. All the while, Gin was looking down upon the street to see where the target is, but the two ninjas were too far away from the street level to pinpoint the thief. He wanted to ask Yuurei but didn't want to give away their position, so he chose to keep a 3 meter distance behind Yuurei until he spotted the target.

Yuurei would make his way down to the area where the two chakra signatures were located. One of them had moved closer to the other, and it was the one to the right. He figured that things were going just as plan, and he would soon make his way towards the two of them. When he got to the ground elve, he would land softly to the ground as he would see that the man that he had notice having his chakra disrupted had his hand out as he was giving up his money to the guy next to him. That wasn’t good, and he decided that he needed to do something about it. He had been training with his weapons for a while, so he had taken out a shuriken from his sleeve and flicked it straight towards the man’s hand before he could fully grab onto the money.

The man would notice that an attack was coming his way, and he would jump out of the way to dodge the shuriken. It would hit the wall to the side of the building and Yuurei would look over to the man that had dodged his attack. He had a smirk on his face as he would look at the little boy that had attacked him.

“Why did you attack me? I asked for some money and he was going to give me some. What is your deal?” He asked Yuurei trying to play it off.

The Genin would only shake his head when he heard this and he would crack his knuckles as he would look at him with a serious look on his face.

“You didn’t ask the man for money. You did something to him and he was handing it over to you. You’re the guy that everybody has been complaining about and it is time for you to answer for your crimes.” He said to the man.

The man chuckled at him as he shook his head at Yuurei.

“I’m serious I was really just asking the man for some money and he was giving me some.” He said to Yuurei.

The Uchiha would walk over to the man that was standing still and he would form a seal as he had released the man from the genjutsu that he was in. He would look confused as he would see the little boy and the man that placed him in the genjutsu. He would realize what was happening and he would start running away with his money in his hand.

“Yeah you aren’t fooling anybody with that act. I think it’s time for you to come in quietly. I don’t want to have to do anything unnecessary.” He said to the criminal as he started laughing.

“I see you aren’t just a little kid ninja. Well, you are going to have to take me in by force because I never planned on getting capture especially by a child.” He said as he got into stance as he was ready for a fight.

Yuurei would shake his head as he would also get into a stance as he would take out his katana as he got into position for something to happen. He figured that Gin would be ready to and would probably cause a distraction, but he might surprise him for all he knew.

Gin landed on a ledge just three meters up, keeping to the shadows as Yuurei reached the sandstone ground of one of the alleyways. The younger ninja confronted the near-exchange of a man and a beggar, by what Gin sees. For a moment, Gin wondered if Yuurei had the wrong guy by how convincing the situation seemed, but Yuurei was skilled with Genjutsu Release, and once he released the innocent man from whatever illusion he was under, he ran off, confirming Yuurei's suspicion. Now Yuurei confronted the illusionist while the older of the two ninja crept down the side of the building wall, mainly the darkness side to avoid being spotted.

Gin did his best to position himself behind the illusionist once he landed upon the sandstone ground, keeping to his blindspot. He may not be as powerful as Yuurei, but he did well in distraction, at least long enough for Yuurei to land a finishing blow.

"Don't think me a weak target, kid" the illusionist said as he pulled out a pocketwatch. What was odd about this said pocketwatch was that the ticking sound was overtaking the noise of everything around them, the distance sounds of busy streets and the wind that pressed against the top of the buildings; all became quiet to Gin, save for the loud, clear ticking. Gin wasn't sure what was going on, but he couldn't let that distract him, he pulled out a kunai and dashed forward. He jabbed the kunai into the illusionist's back, but it just phased through. The body of the man phased out, revealing he had moved. Unbeknownst to Gin, the illusionist had moved away just 2 meters before the ninja rushed in, the pocketwatch made him think he was still there.

"I know genin don't do missions by themselves" the illusionist laughed.

Yuurei would see Gin attack him, but what he was surprised was that his partner had missed completely. It was interesting to see that his friend had missed, but the thing about it was that he could tell that Gin was in a genjutsu. That was bad, and he could only shake his head because he didn’t think that was going to happen. The two of them would just look at each other and Yuurei would activate a Genjutsu on him. It was just a look between the two of them that would work, but he would do the same thing that this man did to Gin. He would appear a bit closer to Yuurei, but he would just use that to his advantage.

He would move the item in front of Yuurei and he would let it swing, and he would place Yuurei in a Genjutsu. The Uchiha would take a deep breath as he would make sure that he would activate his technique. The young boy would take his katana out and he would run straight towards the man, He would extend his blade out to pierce the man in front of him. He would see that he would jump back, which would cause him to take another step forward to do a double piercing. He would miss the second attack, and that was when he knew that he was placed in a Genjutsu. The man would activate his Sharingan to cancel the genjutsu and after he did that he would notice where the man was. Still, he would try to attack Yuurei but would miss the attack as well. That was perfect and he would just jump back as he would pretend that he was still in a genjutsu.

Yuurei could tell that the man in front of him had decided that to get himself out of the genjutsu as well. He would run towards him once again and he would step forward and he would try and slash at him once again as he knew he was going to miss. When he did that he would look over to the man and he would act surprised.

“Why can’t I hit you.” He said to the man as he was surprised.

The man chuckled when he heard this as he rushed straight towards Yuurei as he would try and toss a kunai at Yuurei. When he saw the attack coming straight towards him he would try to dodge the attack. The Uchiha would allow the kunai to hit him, but he would make sure that his vital would be hit. He would suck his teeth as he would just prepare himself for another attack from this man. He would hope that Gin could do something, but he knew that wouldn’t be the case.
