Re: Bandits have all the fun (A-Rank Mission)

Guren and his clone would simultaneously raise a single eyebrow upon Raikou commenting on the potential for betrayal. While this was very much the case, Guren was smart enough to realize that this statement could be true for either man in their previous positions. Guren’s clone could have easily backstabbed Raikou, just as simply as Raikou could have betrayed Guren’s clone. However in the later scenario would bear worse results. Guren’s vantage point and decision making would put him in a rather advantageous position should Raikou try something so despicable. Nevertheless that wasn’t the case. Both men upheld their sides of the bargain, and now they would reap the rewards they sewed.
“Well…I am glad that neither of us took that route. Greed can lead to pretty fatal outcomes. Thank you for assisting me in this effort.” Guren responded. His clone stood by idly watching the situation pan out. Guren would refrain from dismissing his clone for several reasons. The first of which was to prevent the clone from dispelling into a pile of blood, revealing Guren’s secret techniques. The second was to serve as an extra means of caution. Guren still didn’t have trust for the man that stood before him, although he was making a good case based on his actions taken so far.
“I too am not fond of hypocrites,” Guren reassured. However as he finished speaking, he noticed that Raikou began to have some sort of adverse reaction. He gripped his own head and seemed to be as if he was fighting some type of inherent urge. His voice diverged from its natural tone and began to sound a bit…demonic, which matched the display of his sharp and now exposed teeth. In pre-emptive fashion, Guren would dash backwards two meters to create spacing (5 meters) in between himself and Raikou. His clone would shift over so that he stood as a barrier between Guren’s body and Raikou (2.5 meters from both men). Both Guren and the clone took on combative stances in the case that this turned ugly. They would be ready for whatever as Guren would formulate five handseals (dog, boar, bird, ram, monkey) with his right hand, shielded by the sleeve of his coat. Based on the positioning of the clone, the clone would obstruct Raikou's ability to see Guren forming the five handseals. making this action go unnoticed to Raikou. But Guren would maintain the final seal and refrain from expelling his chakra to utilize the technique. Preventative maintenance if you will, meaning that the technique was ready to be fired off but Guren was simply waiting for a trigger that deemed it necessary. Perhaps the man's condition would stabilize...
As Raikou continued his internal struggle, the clone would then speak in a demanding voice, “Choose your next move wisely. Should you attack me, I assure you will die on this day.”
Such cold words from the clone. Based upon the next actions from Raikou, Guren and the clone would make their move. Should he choose to attack, then they would promptly and decisively react. But if he were to calm down, then the two would maintain their heightened guard but remain idle.

Having received no response from Raikou, who at this point was still clenching his head and dealing with his internal struggled, Guren figured it was best to just take his leave. He had already completed his mission and received his reward, thus there was no purpose in lingering around. Especially when he was uncertain of what further actions Raikou might take. He seemed unstable. And it would be a shame if in his fit of rage he got himself killed. Guren had no intentions of harboring violence against the man, he simply wanted a temporary ally. Yet the comments and actions from Raikou didn't necessarily convey the qualities of a trustworthy person. Thus, there was no reason in waiting any longer for him to respond.
Guren would take several steps backwards until he began to distance himself from Raikou. His clone would do the same. They would get further and further away until they reached about a 15 meter distance. From here, Guren would form the handseals to summon his Swamp of the Underworld. Upon formation, it was centralized onto the location of the destroyed caravan. His intentions were to remove all evidence of the destroyed caravan and essentially cover up his trail. Subsequently the diameter of the swamp would expand until it met the boundaries of the destruction and then maintained its size. Everything within the range was sucked downward, out of sight and out of mind. Guren would leave this here before dispelling the jutsu once everything was completely vanished. Now with no loose ends left to tie, Guren and his clone turned around and simultaneously took off. They were set on returning back to Sunagakure.
