Low-Effort Espionage [solo, nk]

One of Kozai's paths stood on a roof, overlooking a Church courtyard. It crouched down and observed, seeing the people below looking at a map. What were they looking for? Right, the princess. Kozai remembered his interrogation of that obstinate clergyman a few weeks before, and grimaced, though his path remained motionless. Dammit, they were getting closer. If he wanted to stay ahead of them, he would have to move soon, probably tomorrow. He couldn't afford to allow the Church to find his target before he did. The results of that would be unthinkable. A loss, for him? No, Kozai refused.

Looking down at them, though, he realized that the Church was looking in the wrong direction, and breathed a sigh of relief. Most excellent, he had some time. Time enough to trick some of the shinobi into retrieving her. Once that happened, it wouldn't take them long to set her back up as the ruler, and the plan could proceed from there. The path retreated as Kozai began detailing the tasks that would be required to set the ninja up to do his jobs for him. Naturally, the Archives would have its own agents as well to do more covert and sensitive duties.

He made sure that his path wasn't detected on the trip home. Running into another unneeded interruption right outside the library like he had last time wouldn't do, so he had a path surveying the front side at all times. Better to be safe than sorry.
