Task: 3 Weeks ago, a small town was raided by a large group of Rouge Ninjas. After careful studying and tracking, Anbu Black Operatives have located the operating base of these MN. Your mission is quite simple, go to the location of their hideout and eliminate this threat. You may either capture or eliminate these men, but this mission is highly classified, and information will not be made available to the public. As such, you should assume that you will have no back up on this mission. If any members of the group escape, this mission will be considered a failure.
Guren awoke from his restless night, having been too focused on his impending mission to be able to sleep soundly. The day before he had received a letter via mail, summoning him to drop everything that he was doing in preparation for an urgent meeting. Luckily for him, he had already completed everything on his agenda at the time. Prior to receiving the summoning he had undone his twists, faded the sides of his head, dyed his hair, and then braided it into cornrows. Additionally he had purchased a restoration cream from an herbal and medicinal merchant. Upon applying it, the scars upon his face instantly healed to reveal a caramel smooth texture. Next was to clean up his beard, in which he would completely shave it off. As his face was now too plain, he ventured off to a tattoo artist and had him tattoo the outside of Guren's eyes. He would shade them an off-skin tone color, making them look as if they were wounds that were missing skin. This was done so Guren could better affiliate himself with his Blood Vulture allies, who maintained similar bands around their eyes. He also took the liberty of ditching his rugged and weathered trench coat and purchased a new set of clothes. His recent success as a shinobi had yielded him significant profit, so it was time to put some of those funds to use. Guren was starting to look like a completely new man, fitting for a new beginning as a shinobi of Sunagakure.
- New Thread, New Me:
He received the letter as soon as he finished changing into his new clothes, ironically enough just in the nick of time. Subsequently Guren would rush off straight towards the Spire. Upon reaching it, he was halted by a group of ANBU shinobi just outside the base of the tower.
"Guren? Wow. You look different. Must be running from someone. The law? A girl?" one of the shinobi would inquire, making jocular small talk.
Guren offered a slight laugh before quickly dismissing the notoriety, "No haven't rubbed anyone the wrong way lately."
Another more senior ANBU member would quickly divert the conversation from small talk and rein in the subject matter back to the topic at hand. "Guren. Listen. We have an important mission for you. An S rank, ay?" he began. When Guren would hear the last part, he was slightly startled. Not once since joining the village had he been entrusted with taking on such a high priority mission. It must have been important. "Usually we would handle a mission of this caliber, or the Kazekage would. But our resources are spread thin due to the very nature of this mission....A few weeks ago, a group of missing ninja entered a neighboring town. Normally this wouldn't be an issue, but this time they were hostile. They raided, ransacked, and raped. By the time we were dispatched, they had all been gone and only left traces of their existence. We have been tracking them sense....and now we know where one of their hideouts is, close to the border between the lands of Wind and Rivers...around the bay area straight East from Sunagakure. Unfortunately we cannot afford to send our members out so far. We still have shinobi tracking other hideouts and on other high priority missions. And so we turn to you. Should you find their base, we need you to infiltrate it and eliminate the threat...Interpret that as you will."
Guren took a moment to reflect on the mission and contemplate the severity of the situation. He absolutely planned on undertaking the mission, yet he had many questions. He shrugged off his thoughts, realizing that time was of the essence. He could figure out the details once he arrived. Nodding in response, Guren let out a "Who will be.." before instantly being interrupted.
"This mission is for you and you only. We cannot afford this information to be spread to anyone outside of our circle. Understand?"
Guren sighed and nodded. He wasn't surprised, and yet at the same time he was. Such was life. "Understood."
With that, the Anbu members would take off without a trace. And Guren would took. Upon receiving his directions, there was no reason for him to remain idle within Sunagakure. He would immediately dart towards the village entrance and exit from it, making sure to let Han know of his mission. From there he would begin to traverse the desert of Wind Country. By this time he had ventured across it so many times that the immense heat, sandstorms, and hostile wildlife would no longer bother him. He was essentially a native of the arid biome. Heading East, Guren would make it to the beach of the bay. The tides were strong and violent, rushing it and crashing upon the jagged rocks which blocked the sands of the beach from being wisped away. The wind blew vehemently, carrying with it the audible whirls of tumultuous gusts. Guren would stay alongside the shore and look in all directions. To the East was just the sea, and west was where he had come from. South would take Guren along the border of Sunagakure. Thus North would lead him closer to the direction of the hideout, as it was in fact encroaching on the territory of the Land of Rivers.
Cautiously, Guren would make his way up the shoreline until the beach subsided and only the base of a cliffside existed. Off in the distance, Guren could make out a hole in the face of the cliffside, not appearing to be natural at all. No, to Guren this seemed man made. And if it was, it was likely the hideout of the missing ninja. It would be a clever spot, as most people would not be able to find it. And accessing it...well that would seem like an obstacle in itself.
- Hideout:
Just from looking at the cliffside, it was evident that the only way to reach the cave was by scaling the face of the mountain. This would be an insanely difficult task for even the most experienced rock climbers. But Guren wasn't a rock climber. He was a shinobi with exceptional chakra control. Thus his surface walking technique could be used to ascend the cliffside and travel over to the cave. As he did so, he concluded that the shinobi which resided in the cave would also be skillful chakra wielders. He knew he had to keep his guard up. He walked alongside the face of the cliff, cautiously monitoring it for any loose footing spots and avoiding them if he came across them. Now nearing the cave, Guren paused to stretch out his senses and feel for any chakra signatures within the cave. And lucky him, there were none. Thus, he should be able to stakeout the area and wait for any people to approach.
Guren would take the time to locate an advantageous spot for him to post up and hide at where he wouldn't be seen or detected. From here he would wait. And he would wait all the way from midday to nightfall before any chakra signatures began to be detected. They were coming from the northern direction, as if they had been terrorizing the civilians up there. And from what Guren could sense, there were about five of them. All of which had potent chakra reserves, yet didn't seem to be concerned about sensing out their hideout before approaching it. They were likely over zealous of their strategically placed hideout. So much so that they had let their guard down. And to Guren's pleasure, they seemed to be traveling with some distance between them. The first group of two would be the first to enter the cave. They were like the point men. The second group of two entered at least a minute later. Based on their positions, they could have been the ringleaders. Finally a single chakra signature began to approach. Detecting that there was no one was behind him, Guren would have to strike. Moments before the person would reach his destination, Guren would blitz and intercept him in an instant. With his kunai drawn he would hurl them upwards and right into the chest of the approaching man. Success. The stealth attack would leave multiple kunai driven right into the target. Guren would quickly grab ahold of the man and secure himself along the cliffside. He would snap his neck to ensure his death and then toss his body from the cliffside and into the waves of water beneath him.
Guren would take this opportunity and transform himself to bear the appearance of the shinobi he had just killed. And as he was a master of deception and disguise, he would blend in successfully enough to be allowed entrance within the hideout. The shinobi would think that Guren was one of their own. Perfect. Once securely inside, Guren was led by the four men in front of him to what appeared to be a dead end of the cave. Guren would wait patiently, taking on similar social cues and body language that some of the other shinobi had. One man would step forward towards the end of the cave and place his left hand upon the wall. His right would raise up and maintain the hand sign of the ram. "Release" he would exclaim, instantly causing the wall to fade away and reveal a series of five tents, campfires, workbenches, and other things. It would seem as if they had a full fledged camp set up.
"Alright boys, go ahead" one man would command which in turn caused the others to proceed forward. Guren would follow. They would all head over to the campfire in the center, sit around it, and fire it up. At this point the man that just instructed the man began to talk again. Guren presumed that he was the leader.
"Okay. Good work today. We've managed to make off with massive amounts of treasures and ryo, which will no doubt open up more opportunities for us. We should clean this money though. This shit is dirty and I don't want it getting traced to us. Ignacio!" the man would continue before exclaiming, causing one man to jump up from his seat.
"Do you still have that stuff I gave you earlier?"
Ignacio would nod, rummage through his pocket, and dig through it before retrieving a jar of what resembled hemlock.
"Good good. You all know the plan, but I will say it again. Now that we have this last specimen, we should be able to generate a poison out of this hemlock. We can use it to create a poisonous solution, which Jo's mist technique will be able to carry and spread. Right Jo?" the boss would say while looking right in the transformed Guren's direction. Guren would calmly nod, awaiting further instructions.
"Perfect. We are looking to release a massive cloud of poison into Sunagakure. Most people should not be capable of resisting its paralytic and deadly effects. Thus there should be many casualties. And once its weakened, we can storm in and take advantage. These little villages have just been stepping tones....But in any case, we should rest, we've all had quite a long day. Make sure you're all fully rested for tomorrow. It's our big day."

Following this, all of the men within the cave would stand up from their seats and begin to walk off towards their respective tents. Guren would make sure he was the last of the band to stand, and would take his time to move away from the camp. He would watch as each member would approach a tent and enter it thus leaving a single remaining tent, must have been for the ninja by the name of "Jo." Considering Jo was very much dead and unlikely to find a use for the tent, Guren would enter it while still disguised as the man. Upon entry he would lay down at the neatly made cot and would rest his head. Guren had no intentions of sleeping, and instead he was fully prepared to stay awake until the dead of night. As he laid there the seconds, minutes, hours all flew by until the cave was as dark as a bottomless pit. It was officially the nighttime and it was as silent as ever, the only things that could be heard were the occasional snores from the sleeping shinobi, which ironically seemed synchronized in a horrendous harmony. Thus, it was Guren's time to strike. And he would have to make sure that everything was executed perfectly to a tee. So far, he had already eliminated one of the five threats. The other four remained sleeping soundly inside their tents....quite opportunistic time for Guren.
He would stealthily leave from his tent and retrieve a single kunai from his weapon pouch. Following this he would creep over to the tent adjacent to his own and slowly unzip its entrance. When this was finished, Guren would be crouched above a sleeping body. With the kunai drawn in hand, Guren would place his hand over top of the mouth of the shinobi and with his other hand he would fiercely drive the kunai right into the head of the shinobi. It was an instant kill tactic. Not a sound was made, and so Guren would relieve the pressure his hand held against the shinobi's mouth. As his hand was released, so was the crimson red blood which oozed from the body of the dead man. "Two down, three to go..." Guren thought to himself as he zipped the tent back up. One by one Guren would repeat this process, ensuring that the shinobi he would employ this strategy on were undoubtedly lifeless. This would be the case for all three remaining men. Once the final one was killed, Guren would release his transformation technique and reside in his natural appearance. He would be sweating and panting to a degree. His adrenaline had been pumping and he felt a bit nauseous. Although he had killed before, it was never like this. This was cold blooded. Merciless. And dishonorable to a certain extent. Sure the village would likely greatly appreciate Guren's efforts, but he couldn't help but feel like a plain murderer.
He wiped off the bloody kunai and sheathed it back within his weapon's pouch. Following this he would take a moment to get his breathing under control and calm his body. Now that he had relaxed a bit, he recognized that he had to complete this mission. Thus he would pick up the bodies of each man, and would pile them up atop of one another near the mouth of the entrance of the cave. By the time he was finished he was thoroughly covered in their blood. Guren would peer over the ledge and take note of the sharp rock formations which laid at the base of the cliff.
He would have to use these make absolutely certain that these missing ninja would have no chance at survival. Thus, with a couple kicks and nudges he would push all four of the men over the ledge, forcing their bodies to descend downward and get impaled by the rocks. Guren made himself watch this, as he had to ascertain their deaths. Upon doing so he would re-enter the cave and retrieve the jar of agglomerated hemlock and hurl it out from the cave as well. Now there was absolutely no way that those men could harm or terrorize anyone anymore, including the citizens of Sunagakure.
