Looking back at the group, the world seemed rather odd. Kita couldn't place a finger on what it was. Maybe the air was just a bit too hazy, or maybe his companions faces were just a bit too distorted. Whatever it was he didn't have time to think. Long, cold, pale fingers gripped Kita's head, wresting him from his position on his knees into a standing one, forcing him to stare into the glowing crimson excuses for eyes. The color drained from his face as the creature wrenched open its mighty jaws, and he feared that it intended to swallow him whole. "No! I'm not getting eaten here today!" Wild thoughts raced through the young shinobi's head as he debated how to handle this creature. A jutsu? No, that wouldn't exactly work. His most powerful jutsu wouldn't exactly be available at a close range such as this, so that was a no-go. How about his weapons? Sadly also out of the picture, as he didn't have his weapons. Fuinjutsu? That may or may not actually work. Ram, Dog, Bird, Snake, Kita quickly ran through the seals to perform his paralysis seal (Paralysis Seal). Kita hoped it work, and drove his palm into the face of the creature.

When his palm collided against the creature, nothing happened. The technique didn't go off. The seal didn't spread across the creatures skin, and the familiar drain of chakra didn't occur. He was still being brought inevitably closer to the blood-stained and browned teeth of the wretched creature. Its breath was putrid, and within its mouth rotted flesh was visible. Kita wondered why, why his technique could have possibly failed. Then it struck him. Dismissing his old jutsu, Kita performed the Tiger hand seal, and dismissed himself from the Genjutsu that he had found himself in (Genjutsu Release).

The creature that once seemed so sinister dissolved into nothing more than smoke as it faded once more into nonexistence. There was no monster, no beast intending to eat the boy. A sigh of relief escaped his lips as he turned back to his companions to see how they were doing. Yet the relief that he felt soon dissipated when he saw a rather plump woman approaching their prize. The puzzle pieces began to come together. Anger filled Kita's head as he realized what had happened. Not just him, but his entire group had been tricked by this she witch. "Alright... we'll play by your rules then. You didn't try to kill us, I appreciate that. So I'll just restrain you instead." It only took a moment to reform the necessary hand seals (Paralysis Seal). With remarkable speed Kita raced forward, hand ready to apply the seal at any moment. He raced past his other two allies, fingers splayed like a starfish reaching towards the woman. Just as hope seemed lost however, and the woman was about the grab their prize, Kita felt his fingers graze her back. A black mark appeared on the woman just before it expanded into several tattoo like chains which wormed around the woman's body, sealing her in place. Kita gave yet another sigh of relief, and gave a thumbs up to his allies. "I got her! She should be safely secured now." Kita bit his lip. Unless she was strong enough that is.

The woman's shinobi instincts betray her. The moment she feels contact against her back, she wheels around, hand drawing her tanto. Kita's seals and the Hollykage get her at the same time - Kita sees the seals crawl over her skin and lock her in place just as light suffuses her, her eyes widen in recognition of her mistake, and she is removed from the mission. The moment she vanishes, the genjutsu cast over the party shatters, and Murata lets out a wheeze as she manages to get a decent breath of air in and stagger to her feet.

With that challenger removed, the meteor is all theirs - they are all able to retrieve their prize and be on their way.

The woman vanishes into the night air in a flash of light, leaving the group with only their meteoric prize. Kita was about to question exactly what it was that happened, but he supposed that he wouldn't be getting an answer that would be satisfactory enough. After all, it was just a dream. "I guess that we've got our prize then. Hard to believe that all those people were after this little old thing." Kita reached down to pick up the meteoric iron. It felt cold to the touch. Now all that was left was to... wake up? Kita wasn't entirely sure. "Well we have it. Now what?"

Gonk started running down the slope, but Kita got to the woman first, getting her with what appeared to be a paralysis seal. But before it could fully set, she vanished into thin air, leaving a small flurry of snow.
“Looks like the Hollykage doesn’t want any deaths,” Gonk said, not realizing the team intended to keep her alive. “Oh well, lets just get the stupid rock and leave.” The group then all made their way down the slope and gathered around the rock. Gonk knelt down and tried to lift the rock, but it was extremely heavy and was only able to get it a few inches off the ground.
“I can’t lift it,” Gonk informed the group, “but if we all try together we might be able to pick it up. However, it’s going to be difficult to get it down the mountain.” All four of the shinobi lifted the rock and were successful in getting it high enough to move. Just when they were preparing to start making their way up the slope, they were transported away in a poof of snow, just like the kunoichi from earlier. Gonk looked around to see that they were in a workshop of some kind. Most likely belonging to the Hollykage.
“Hi there everyone, thank you so much for grabbing that meteor for me!” The Hollykage said, standing before them.
“Wait, if you can teleport us here with the rock, why not just teleport the rock?” Gonk asked, perplexed.”
“Well where’s the fun in that!” The Hollykage exclaimed cheerfully. “This way I get to see who the best and most promising shinobi are. And I have to say, you four performed particularly well."
“Yeah whatever,” Gonk said, not wanting to be won over by the man he distrusted. “Can you just give me my reward and take me home?”
“Yes of course,” the Hollykage chuckled as he handed them each a red bag. Inside, Gonk found a piece of the meteor they had recovered. The Hollykage then snapped his fingers and Gonk saw the workshop disappear, and found himself in his kitchen.
“Well that was certainly interesting if nothing else.” Gonk thought. He hadn’t realized how cold he was, so he decided to make himself a cup of hot cocoa then call it a night.
