Passing by a peculiar shop

Kurayami had just gotten back into the village after his mission with Tsuna. He had seen just what his comrade could do in battle, and he was none too impressed with his own abilities. He made stupid mistakes and he was far to slow in battle, causing him to be more of a burden than a benefit, and he felt terrible about it. He knew that he had been given a compliment by Tsuna, but after seeing the difference in strength and power between the two of them, it felt like it was out of pity more than it was anything else. 

He wanted to be as strong as his comrade, honestly he wanted to be even stronger. But for the way that things were looking for him, he was always going to be behind his comrade, and never equal to him. He had been training every day for so long, as long as he could honestly remember. But yet when the time came for combat to commence, he lacked behind. During that time with Tsuna he didn't let that feeling rise to the surface, but he couldn't help but to feel inadequate next to him after both of their performances. 

So much training, just to have his wall shut down so easily, so readily that he was made to look not only foolish due to his own mistakes, like not infusing his chakra into the exploding tags, but to have them completely cast to the side by the woman that they were thrown into combat with. He didn't even have the ability to shoot off his arrow to finish the job, because his comrade was just that much faster on the draw than he was, and he was proven to be nothing more than an ornament during their mission.

As he was walking through the gates of the village and parted ways with his comrade Tsuna, he walked slowly through the village, trying not to think of his own inadequacies when he had come into the city square. He hadn't spent much time in the square lately, as he had been doing so much training that he had no time to himself. This only seemed to bring him even farther down because even though he had spent so much of his time training, he was still so far below his comrade that he was barely worth noticing during his fight with the rouge ninja by the meteor. 

He wasn't sure what there was to do in his life, Yuumei was of no help to him, he wasn't good enough, he was nothing more than an insignificant speck in the world. But all he was wanting to do was the worthy of true praise, to bring home the mission's success, not just to have himself be an accomplice to something far greater than himself. He respected Tsuna, more than he probably thought was possible, as he was someone worthy of that respect. He explained to the young Shinkou just what the village of Hoshi was about, and what the village as a whole stood for.

"We are to be shields to protect the village and its citizens. Not weapons forged to kill aimlessly." He said to himself as he began looking through the windows of all the shops in the square, contemplating to himself just what that all meant. He wasn't much of a shield today, nor was he much of a weapon, he was just another name written on the mission report, right next to Tsuna. They were both Genin, so they were the same rank, but he knew that he paled in comparison to him in every way.

As he walked through the square some more, he stopped when he had seen a shop that he had never seen before. He looked inside and it seemed to be a nice enough shop, there were plenty of chairs and benches, seeming to be a doctor's clinic of sorts. He was curious as to how he had never noticed such a shop, and that was when he looked up to see the name of the shop. The name was written boldly across the top of the storefront, written in gorgeous ornate letters, but just small enough that it didn't draw too much attention to itself. He took a couple steps back from the storefront and he began to read out loud, quietly and to himself. "Books, Body parts, and Beyond?" 

The name itself was fascinating, to be so crass about something so personal. He had never been inside, so he decided that he was going to take a look for himself. He wasn't too sure as to what he would find within the shop, but he figured that if he could find some books to improve himself, maybe he could learn some new tricks to catch up to Tsuna. 

He took a step into the building and he could immediately smell the hand sanitizer in the room. Being that it did have something to do with body parts, he was sure that there was plenty of touch involved in the practices within the building so that didn't surprise him too much. He walked over to the bookshelves and he fingered through the spines of the books, looking for something that would catch his attention, he wasn't too sure what it was that he was looking for, but he did know that if he was going to find it, it would likely be here.

After he fingered through all of the books in the section, he thought to himself about just what it was that he was needing. He thought about just what it was that was going to push him to the next level, to get him closer to his comrade. He knew pretty much all there was to know about weaponry, at least that is what he thought as he had done plenty of reading on it in the past, but yet he still knew so little when he compared himself to Tsuna. It wouldn't be until he began scanning the next section that he would be given quite the turn in life.

It wasn't long after opening that someone entered the store. It seemed the person was also a red head much like Akabayashi. Stepping out of one of the back rooms the Terumi would walk to the counter and sit. Taking some glances every so often at the person parousing the store.

After a few moments the man would remove his Nova cloak and hang it on a coat rack. If the customer looked in the direction of Akabayashi they would be greeted with a smile and a simple "Welcome." There was nothing the man had against browsing it was encouraged, so he would write down things he needed to restock in the shop.

This one was at the shop for what all that had entered were there to look for a curse mark. At this juncture the doctor believed less people were coming in out of curiosity and more due to word of mouth on the effects of the juinjutsu. “I am indeed a member of the Nova and I do believe I have what you seek. The price of the seal is five thousand ryo and there is a small chance you will die. However, even if you do, I can just bring you back to life, so the risk is negated.”


If this one were ready the doctor would ask for the payment as he would be unconscious for quite a bit and then form the seals for the technique and place the mark on the back of his neck utilizing his hand. He would watch some of the usual signs of getting the mark. Immediate pain, collapse, and if they lived muscle spasms during unconsciousness. If he died which the doctor had thus far never seen, then he would bring the body to his home and make a new Lazarus pit to bring back his spirit from the afterlife.

Good luck on your roll if you roll 5 or 6 it kills you due to your chakra/vigor being an average of 75. A 76 would have just killed on a roll of 6.

Just as he had hoped, the man that he was now speaking to was in fact the one that he needed to aid him in his journey to become stronger. This member of the Nova corps didn't spend much time in speaking on the seal that he was able to put onto the young Shinkou, but he truly didn't need much of an explanation. If this seal was something that would grant him power, power to become as powerful as Tsuna or at least give him a better chance, then it was worth it. The price was something that he was able to do surprisingly enough, as he had gotten quite a bit of pay from completing the mission with the meteor.

He thought for a moment on the idea of him dying, dying to obtain the very power that he needed to get as strong as Tsuna. He thought to himself if what he was doing was right, or ethical. Was it too much to actually risk the idea of dying just so he could get himself to a place of higher strength and power? Was it truly worth it? The thoughts were truly only fleeting thoughts as he already knew the answer to them. He knew that this was worth whatever risk that it brought, even if there wasn't a chance of revival. It was worth it because the only goal he had in life was to become a Nova member, and this was going to put him in the right direction and that was truly worth his own life. 

He reached into his pocket, without even truly thinking about what it was that he was about to put his body through, and he placed exactly five thousand ryo onto the counter that separated the two of them. The fact that death was on the table for him gave him the idea that pain was going to be a part of the process of obtaining the seal. He prepared himself for the pain that was going to come to him as the Nova member began to form hand seals. He prayed to Yuumei for a second, and he hoped that this would be just what he needed. After the hand seals were created, the man would begin to reach his hand closer and closer to the young Shinkou's body, aiming for the back side of his neck. 

He tried his best to keep his composure, trying to make it seem as though he wasn't shaken by the thought of the immense pain that was surely headed his way. His left knee began to slightly shake as the man's hand got closer to him. The moment the contact was made, his vision began to blur and his body immediately began to go into survival mode. He fell to the floor, as he lost all function in his limbs. His body convulsed, shaking uncontrollably. He did his best not to scream or yell out, as he wanted to keep as much of his dignity as he could.

The pain, however, was far more than he could have ever imagined. He hollered out, bellowing out in pain as it felt as though his blood had turned into a poisonous toxin, he pressed his hands against his face as even his eyes felt as though they wanted to escape the pain by leaving his own skull. The pain continued, and he truly did feel as though death was certainly a possibility at this point. But most unfortunate of all was the only thing that would truly tell how this tale would end, was time.

Through all the struggling the boy survived. Akabayashi had his money and an unconscious person to watch. The man would make a shadow clone and have it watch over the store as the doctor remained in the room. Until the kid finally woke up. "Curse mark was successful, thank you for your patronage."

His body finally reached its threshold of pain, or at least finally surpassed his point of consciousness as he simply lost it due to the incredible amounts of pain. When he finally lost his sight, his body fell limp on the floor as the convulsions finally reached their end. He laid there for a while, an amount of time that he wasn't certain as he was in condition to be counting the minutes away. In the time  of him being unconscious, he had dreamed about Yuumei and his influence. There was no light, only a sound that echoed off of the walls that he was surrounded by, or at least that he assumed he was surrounded by as he couldn't see anything.

He attempted to stand, but he felt as though he was being held down by a force that he could not see nor hear, it was almost as though he was unable to move on his own accord, like his body was fighting against his mind. He could hear a chanting beginning, the same chanting that he used to hear in his dreams, the chanting that he would hear when the influence from Yuumei was beginning to grow to a head. 

He didn't know why this dream was coming to him, but he had a feeling that it was an episode was beginning, and due to the fact that he was currently at his lowest point, this was no surprise. The chanting got louder and louder, and he couldn't move an inch. He sat there, feeling the dampness of the floor beneath him. His breathing was labored, feeling as though there was a pressing on his chest, and this pressing would get stronger and weaker, creating a rhythm that he was not in control of. 

Suddenly a light was able to be seen from far off in the distance and the chanting began to quiet, going from a yelling in his ear, to a slight background sound barely able to be noticed. The light began to be more compact, turning into the form of a human being. The light was getting closer to the young Shinkou, and his binding was beginning to loosen, allowing him to move, albeit only slightly. The form was finally able to be made out and it was a form that he was familiar with. The form was that of Tsunayoshi Hatake, the very reason for his delving into darkness.

His breathing became hastened, but not labored as the anger began to rise from within his body. The bindings seemed to fall off entirely and he leaped to his feet. He drew his sword from it's sheathe and he sprinted towards Tsuna. The only issue was, all of these motions seemed to be controlled by someone other than himself. He lunged forward toward Tsuna and he thrusted his sword into the chest cavity of his rival. Tsuna's body stopped moving, and the light began to fade slightly, being drawn away from his position and sucked into the darkness that surrounded them both.

The light faded from within the room that he was trapped in, and the bindings resumed, holding him down against the ground once again. The chanting began to scream in his ears once again and he could hear nothing but the chanting as he looked upon his rival and friend lying on the floor, light completely gone from within his sight and the only thing being left was the bleeding form that was once his friend and rival. Kurayami tried to feel the feeling that he would have expected, sadness over what he had just done, but he felt only nothingness envelope his body.

Suddenly his eyes shot open, and he was back within the same operating room that he had received the seal from the Nova Corps member. His body was aching, reminding him of all the pain that he was in. That very person was still within the room with him and he simply explained that the process was a success and that Kurayami didn't die in the process of receiving the seal. This was a mild relief to the young Shinkou and he thanked the man for the seal, and he explained that he needed to go.

Once he was let out of the building, he would stumble back over to his apartment, as he needed to go back to sleep and analyze the dream that he had. He wasn't sure just what Yuumei was trying to explain to him, but he knew that Tsuna was part of the message. Was he someone that he needed to kill to move forward in his own life? To grow even stronger and to become the shinobi that he was meant to become? There were so many questions that he had about the dream he had while being unconscious from the experience in getting the seal, but answers were coming in short supply at the moment. 

He walked through the village streets, and he tried to rub his temples, as there was a searing pain radiating through his head. Slowly, he walked up to the stairs that would lead to his apartment, and he took each step slowly as his balance was still in the process of being reestablished after it had been destroyed by the pain that he had gone through. He had never been through such an experience, and he hoped that he wouldn't have to go through something like that again.

He walked through his front door, and he took off all of his armor and his weapons, placing them in their proper places behind the front door of his apartment. As soon as he had taken off his armor and weapons, he tried to take another step into his apartment, but he instead fell face first into the carpet that lined the floor of his living room, and again he was unconscious. He would have the same dream that he had before, and this time he would try to speak to Yuumei for guidance.
