Deja Vu [Village Entrance]

After several hours of trudging through the desert Gonk could finally see the gates once more. This journey had been no less unpleasant than the last, blazing sun drying him out and the sand getting stuck in his scales. He hated it here. But on the bright side it wasn’t quite so sandy inside the village, and there was actual shade there. But on the down side it was still very hot and very dry.

As Gonk drew nearer to the gates, he remembered last time Murata had admired the cacti when they arrived. Just as before they still just looked like regular old cacti, but the thought saddened Gonk a bit. Murata had been stuck in Hoshigakure trying to defend Kita ever since he left. He hadn’t even had a chance to tell them he was leaving. For all he knew, they could think Gonk abandoned them and the letter was some shoddy coverup story. Though he doubted they thought that. But hopefully they would all be able to leave together, and Gonk could explain why he had to leave in such a hurry. Maybe. He still didn’t want to make a big deal out of the situation. In any event, as they grew nearer to the gates, Gonk would pull out his identification card and glance over to Tracin to check that he was doing the same. It would be best to get through the gates quickly and without incident. There weren’t many other people at the gate today, so they didn’t have to wait in line long. When they reached the front Gonk would hold out his identification card to the gate guard and answer any question asked of him.

After a few hours of walking through the desert, Travin was starting to realize he hated the sand, he hated the stupid cactus, and most importantly he hated that blasted sun that never stopped trying to burn him. It had only been 15 minutes into their journey through the desert when he realized that sand would rub his feet raw, and he learned what it felt like to be dehydrated. 45 minutes into the journey and he had run out of water. He wasn’t sure how Gonk was able to stand this. They were both water shinobi whose powers revolve around the use of water but Gonk was as close to a fish in a sandpit as one can get. It gave Travin a new level of respect for the shark man.

Once they could see the village in the distance Travin started to think about a nice ice-cold glass of water, and that only made him even more thirsty. The one thing that this trip had done was show Travin what he had in store for the coming war with Suna. It also told Travin that if they did win the war he would not want to be the one placed in charge of it after this experience. He was mostly just wanting to go back home where it wasn’t so dry. He hoped that someone at the gate would be selling water. If he could find someone he would buy all they had and pay extra for the glorious substance.

Approaching the gate Travin got his game face on as they walked in the fast-moving line. He saw Gonk pull out his ID card, so Travin did the same except Travins ID card was mostly void of information. It simply stated his name Travin no clan name, and that he was a jounin in the Hidden Mist Village with his picture. Once they got up to the gate Travin had let the hood on his armor fall back in the hope to get more of a breeze. Once it was their turn he would hand over his ID badge. “We are delegates from Kiri here to speak with the Hogokage, he should be expecting us” he would tell the guard. “If it’s possible can we move somewhere to get a drink while we wait for whoever comes to escort us” he would add?

Seeing a familiar face in the line Akabayashi would shout past the gate guard. "Hey Gonk bring your friend!" The guard would look at the Nova and move out of the way. "You know where the kage's office is they should be expecting you."

While they were still in line Gonk heard a familiar voice call out to him. Craning his neck, Gonk found it was the Nova agent Akabayashi Terumi who was beckoning him.
Gonk turned to Travin. “C’mon follow me,” Gonk said with a jerk of his head towards the gates. “The guy calling is Akabayashi Terumi, the Nova agent who arrested Kita. But don’t worry, he’s chill. When I left, he told me he’d try and keep Kita out of further trouble.” After he finished his brief message to Travin, Gonk would lead the way through the crowd, past the guard and over to Akabayashi.

“Alright we’ll head over there now,” Gonk told Akaybayashi once he heard the second part of his message “And thanks.” Gonk gave a brief slight smile then left, walking through the gates and towards the office of the Hogokage. As he walked there were two things on his mind. The first was the wellbeing of Kita and the rest of the squad. And the second was that he desperately hoped the Hogokage’s office had refreshments.

Travin was standing in line when he heard someone call out for Gonk. He quickly turned to see who it was but had never seen the man before. He listened as Gonk told him that the man’s name was Akabayashi Terumi and he was trying to help keep Kita out of more trouble. Travin immediately thought what a mouth full of a name and would have to shorten it. For now, he would be respectful since he was in another village, but if they were back in Kiri their was no way he would say his entire first name all the time. Travin would let Gonk do the talking for now since he was familiar with Akab. No that’s a terrible name he thought to himself trying to come up with something to call him as they walked.

While Gonk leads the way to the Hogokage office, Travin keeps his eye out for something to drink. He didn’t think he had ever been this thirsty in his entire life. For a change luck was on his side as they would pass a drink stand selling bottled water and glasses of lemonade. This man is a genius Travin thought to himself as he told Gonk to hold on for a second. Travin walked over and after handing the man a bag full of ryo he took the 45 bottles of water and stored them in his cloak, before ordering 2 ice-cold lemonade and giving one to Gonk. “Here this should help with any luck live through this hell dimension” Travins voice and demeanor would make it hard to tell if he was joking or not.
