Helping residents out.

Yuri sat down on a piece of log with 5 other men looking to be in their fifties as she was spotted to be of help for their current problem. These men are grasscutters by trade; Something the area would always welcome since it prevents hiding of whatever deemed undesirable within tall grass, a boon for making roads linking from the existing villages here to nearest port. For many villagers here, their perseverance of keepings the roads sufficiently safe is key to their livelihood and the status quo of getting a cut from the villages has been the norm.

The grasscutters told Yuri of a new road created recently, it is a road that leads to nowhere but a small area of flat stone  ground that had nothing. Yuri could the illusionary clue given off right away, she let them continue their piece. It was not frequently maintained as the other village routes but there would always be a young boy from a nearby village telling them to help in clearing the path of grass. However, the odd part happens when they asked the boys; Each at a different time of asking, the conversation from the families would end up with the boys just being at home. Every single time the grasscutters tried to chase the boys down, they failed as the boys could not be found no matter how the group tried to perform an ambush to catch the boys.

Fortunately, these requests follow a trend. They told Yuri that one of the "boys" would be requesting them to get the path clear soon later on in the afternoon. They dont know Yuri well enough to deduce who she was but having saw Yuri defied odds of repelling monstrous beast in the swamp that the villages built defenses to keep them away, they felt that Yuri could be up for the task.

At least that was how Yuri came to understood of their plight and her role.

Seeing as the request having to take place from a distance again, Yuri immediately realized a ninja is doing the actual asking; A textbook trick indeed. Yuri immediately pick up her pace of following him knowing that a fight might follow. 50 meters into the trailing, the "boy" did a few handseals and moved quickly; Not the fastest pace for Yuri to deal with as she discovered that the flat stoney area actually had some form of trap door entrance to whatever is underneath seeing as the boy "dropped" into a hole in the ground. It is common for a ninja to keep their hideout protected but Yuri thinks that  they don't have to an arse to these locals getting them to do free labor. Yuri simply told the grasscutters to get a few rocks big enough to cover the "hole" that the ninja was using to move downwards, it took some convincing from the puzzled faces but it was done with some help from getting the rocks from a nearby village.

Everyone involved simply waited at the flat area for knocking noises to happen; It didn't took very long for the ninja himself to propose paying the grasscutters himself in exchange of letting him get up to the ground.
