Rice to Meet You Again! [IO]

History was recorded. Asahi was the one that bailed first. What a shame.

After a short time, Yamato raised his hand. He looked around. “I have no memory of this place.”. He walked around, checking out the nearby streets. “Wait here.” he said to Hikari, the only other person remaining on this trip. “I’ll find our way fast, I’m sure of it.”.

A left. A right. These roads looked familiar. Well, calling them ‘roads’ was a bit farfetched. Tanbo didn’t really have ‘roads’ as much as ‘space between buildings’. Regardless, Yamato had a feeling he was closing in on the right track.

He turned around.

Oh.

He was lost.

This was bad. Yamato had signed up to be the guide. He should have been more honest with his capabilities and admitted to himself that as a relative newcomer as well, he couldn’t really be a great guide of the town. Well. It was too late. He eventually found his way back to his home, but he didn’t see Asahi or Hikari again that day.

When he returned, he went right to his desk, and started writing apology letters to Asahi and Hikari. He apologized for his failure as a guide: for prioritizing shops over local wonders and monuments, for getting lost (of course), for being unable to find them afterward, and for failing to plan the trip at a time that would have fit Asahi’s schedule.

If there was a next time, Yamato promised he would push himself to do better.

But for now, it was time to rest. Tomorrow, work started.
