Sensei of the waves and seals [Yamato, and Mori]

Komori gave a thin smile to Hayato’s offer of dinner at an undetermined time. “I’d be honored,” he said with a manner befitting a station he no longer possessed. He gave a nod in farewell as Hayato began to leave, directing his attention back towards Yamato. “You’re telling me,” he replied in kind. “I feel like I used to have to work much harder to be able to learn anything. Nowadays, there are so many shortcuts,” he mused. Yamato then spoke again. “I might miss the shinobi life, but I’m not sure it misses me. I appreciate you honoring my wishes in this regard.” The extended hand was met with another as Komori’s tattooed arm reached forward. “That would be nice. Perhaps over dinner? Hayato’s treat,” he jested.

With that, Yamato left the training grounds after what was a shorter talk than anticipated. There was some appreciation there, however, as he did not realize how drained he had become himself. It had truly been a while since he had used jutsu so frequently. Yamato was right, he did miss some parts at least of being a shinobi. He had forgotten how much he liked to teach bright eyed, bushy tailed genin eager to start their journey to greatness. His journey, however, had seemingly reached its end, and now he stood here as a man past his prime. Yet maybe. Just maybe. There was more in store for the man who once ruled a nation.
