Painter Guild's Plus One! Part 2

Another Day, Another Ryo in Crom’s account, He was doing decently well off so far as he had taken to doing missions and requests of his own rank instead of sitting at the bottom doing chores for others. It was time to go back to the mission board and find another mission to complete so that he could grow his funds some more there were some books he was looking at from the nearby bookstore that he was thinking of purchasing when able but for now he needed to secure his income. So Crom went about his routine of leaving the house by cleaning up, getting dressed and preparing his things for his trek over there and any additional issues that might come up during whatever mission he undertook.

Glad he had gotten use to making the trek to the Mission board and around the Village as his stamina overall had increased greatly since he became a Genin. Crom smiled to himself as he went over to the D Ranked section of the board to see what he could find for today. Not to much really stood out to him but just before he randomly grabbed a mission to do he noticed one that was from the Painter’s Guild a client he had worked with previously helping them clean their equipment. He looked over the mission and they were asking for someone to report to the nearest branch like last time and the Officer there would once more instruct whoever took the mission on what they needed done. “Well I just helped the Adoption Center might as well go back and see what the Painters need this time.” Crom said to himself as he took down the needed information and begun his trip across the village to the mentioned place.

It seemed that not to much had changed since he was last here besides some of the set pieces being swapped out and moved around beyond that everything was still the same. Crom approached the front desk as usual and showed them the information of why he was there. The receptionist directed him to the Head Officers office once more and sent him on his way. “Hello I’m here to help with your request.” Crom said as he stood at the doorway to the Officer’s office. “Yes, Yes come in son.” The Officer said without looking up at him looking over some paperwork that seemed to be of importance to the man. Once the officer had completed what he needed he looked up at the young Shinobi. “Oh its you the one that helped clean the brushes and buckets. That’s good you did thorough work last time so I’m sure you will complete this task easily.” The officer said with a smile, the man quite enjoyed working with people who actually did their jobs and didn’t do it with lackluster results.

“Now follow me I’ll take you to where you will be working and explaining what we need done.” The officer said as he stood up and lead the way for Crom. “The back wall outside has started to show signs of wear and tear with the paint beginning to chip. We need you to take the paint provided and with the material supplied and repaint the wall outside. Don’t need to do anything fancy its just simple physical work that can take some time.” The Officer explained as they gathered the paint and items needed to complete the task like brushes, a scrapper and ladders. “Now you will need to take that scrapper and take care of the chipped paint because if you just paint over it as is it will just chip and fade and the whole point of the task will be defeated.” The officer explained as he looked over the way. “The paint provided already has primer in it some fancy pants brand, so just take care of the chipped areas and then paint the whole wall with 3 coats of paint that should be enough to hold for quite some time.” The Officer finished looking over at Crom who was writing down what the officer had said. “You’re quite the meticulous person aren’t you.” The officer said to Crom. “Yes sir, I like to make sure I know what is needed and how to do it so that I don’t make mistakes and cause more work for myself.” Crom replied in his monotone voice. “I will now begin the task Sir.” Crom said as he closed his notebook and picked up the scrapper and ladder planning to work from top to bottom. “Good luck, let me know when you are done.” The Officer said as he headed back inside.

Crom started the long process of scrapping off the chipped paint making sure it was thorough and complete not to miss any spots as he went from the highest point all the way down to the bottom of the 10 foot wall. Just this process took quite some time as the minutes quickly passed until he was finally done with that part of the task. Double checking his work and making sure he hadn’t missed a spot Crom begun to set up the paint needed and brushes choosing to go with a large roller to cover more of the area and would use the brushes for along the edges so they didn’t get smudged or look wrong.

This was another process that took some time as he had to wait between coats to dry before he could apply the next one on top of it. Luckily it seemed that he had done things correctly and the color had come out quite while with minimum dripping and messes. Crom begun to go around the edges of the wall where it butted against the roof and making sure that the paint there was uniform and clean with a smaller brush for the more exact work. Once he had finished his touch ups and looked over his work he cleaned up the supplies into one area ready to be put away once he was told it was good by the Head Officer. Moving back into the building Crom located the Officer and had him look over his work by now the sun was starting to go down. “Looking good young man, seems you have a knack with painting or at the very least following directions.” The Officer joked as he approved of the Shinobi’s work. “You are all set on this end, Just put away the supplies and you can head on out.” Crom nodded and begun to put away the material and supplies. Once he had done that part of the request he headed back to the Mission board to turn in the completed paperwork so he could claim his rewards.
