Strength in Skill

There wasn't much else for the young genin to do but to focus and train. He had to make himself stronger... alone if he had to. He started the same routine over and over, coming to the river and practicing his ninjutsu, as well as building up his chakra. It was something he was very familiar with, but did so anyways, in order to build up his endurance and be able to use his abilities without too much worry.
Without a Wind master, it was nearly impossible for him to try to learn Wind discipline, however that would not stop the young Tekiatsu, as he would prepare himself for what he needed to do. When it was finally time for him to learn the second part of his bloodline, he would be more than ready.
Arashi sat and meditated on this particular day, before he started on training. It was another common practice, but only every couple of day. He used it to remind himself of who he was, and what he was doing, as well as what his goal was. His mind would always flash pictures.. images of Koga, of Akihana-san, of that mysterious girl, of his family. Just another of a myriad of different things that the young man had running through his head, trying to figure out the great mystery that was one's self.
With his eyes closed, and only the sounds of rushing water around him, Arashi put himself into a state of trance, the only senses around him being that of water. He felt the rush of the river, the roll of the waves, the tickle of the mist.. everything that gave the sensation of water. It flowed in and out of him, as he could only see the chakra system he held. That was enough, thats what he needed to see.
Arashi stood up, without opening his eyes, and did a tiger sign, pushing his chakra into the water. He remember reading about a highly offensive water technique that used the same sign as other water based techniques, and was based more on chakra control than signing. Which means he needed the chakra first and foremost. Around him the water bubbled and pulled from the surface upward until he had about 6 small columns of water around him. He tried concentrating hard for them to form, using his chakra to spin them... but it was no use. The water couldn't form properly and they promptly fell back into the river.
Arashi released a sigh, breathing hard as if he had been holding his breath, and finally opened his eyes. He refused to ask for help.. mostly because there was no one who really could help him. His uncle was gone, on assignment somewhere. His parents were busy with village things, and his father was more gifted in Wind elements than water.
No, this was something that Arashi had to really do himself. He gritted his teeth, looking around the area. If he had to do it all himself, then he could get help from himself.
"Mizu Bushin no Jutsu." he said, creating three other clones with him. Each one sat at one of the cardinal directions, and Arashi looked around. "Alright, you all know what to do." he said, before closing his eyes.
Again he felt himself become one with the water, the stream, the waves, and once again he could feel the connection between his chakra and the water around him. Instead of doing it all around him, each one of the ones seated worked with two. Arashi felt the water swirl again and two little columns grew in front of him, eight in total around the rock. Arashi concentrated, trying to get them to form into a cylinder, and finally shot them out... only to have them all fall back into the river as droplets.
"Why is this so hard?" he asked, as the sun began to dip. He would have to try again later.
The next few days were the same, no matter how much Arashi tried, he couldn't get the water to form into the desired shape. It was the same every day: Arashi would come to the same rock, the same river, and struggle to pull the water into the desired shape. He tried everything with him and his clones, nothing seemed to work.
He then tried to exercise his mind and body, and spent the next couple of days running from end to end, keeping himself limber and flexible. It worked in the sense that he was able to keep his clones up for longer, and they were more durable than before, but for the jutsu he was trying to learn, it was nothing special.
Finally, after the 6th day of no progress, Arashi found himself again on the rock, again meditating, trying to visualize his goal. It was called the Water Fang Bullet... that was the shape he was supposed to have. But he just couldn't seem to hold it, no matter what he did. He couldn't both hold it and rotate it, not without... maybe that was it.
Arashi stood up and created a clone. A single clone. He clone stepped into the river while he got his sign ready, and stared hard at the water. He tried his jutsu again, and willed only one bit of water. He was automatically successful, and then looked to his clone, who nodded and began to use his own hands to start rotating the water in a single direction. Slowly the column began to swirl, faster and faster, until it had finally reached the bullet shape he was looking for. Arashi smiled and tried to hold it, but a minor hiccup in concentration made his bullet shoot up high into the air... leaving a trail of water walling as the entire thing just disintegrated.
Arashi sighed again as his clone turned back into water. This was getting difficult, but at least he finally had a place to start from. The young man continued to train unwavering, hoping to find the knack he needed.
